Jabber Video Windows 8 Pro tablet

I am evaluating a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 (Windows 8 Pro).  I cannot get the client to use the front facing camera.  There are 2 selections in the Camera list, both are Intel Imaging Signal Processor 2300.  Selecting either does not change to the front camera.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Jabber video client version is 4.5

This problem is related to Intel new video capture architecture introduced with Atom Z2760. It has nothing to do with CPU speed/frequency. Z2760  video processing is supported by a separate module being a part of SoC - this is what Intel Imaging Signal Processor (ISP) 2300 is. The problem described here is not limited to Jabber Video and is not a "bug". Rather, Jabber Video implementation predates Z2760.
Please note that Z2760 tablets show in device manager  ISP 2300 as an imaging device. On all other systems this is the entry where cameras are listed. The two OV camera sensors are listed as system devices. This suggests that Intel added extra layer of software to their drivers. Existing applications react in various ways: Jabber Video shows imaging signal processor twice, but DirectShow applications and tools ignore it and only show OV sensors. This is of little help since OV sensor drivers have almost all camera and stream controls locked. I suspect ISP layer does it. In addition, OV capture filters have two output pins: Preview and Capture with different settings. DirectShow can handle two pins but "legacy" applications rarely do since such a selection has not been anticipated.
In other words, Z2760 CPU introduces new video capture architecture where the webcams are not what they used to be. The architecture is utterly undocumented. I reversed-engineered parts of it from the DirectShow side. Since jabber Video shows ISP as a camera, it is most likely not DirectShow based. I suspect however that the correct way of accessing the cameras is via ISP, not via OV devices since only ISP is able to change stream  parameters such as frame size and rate and camera parameters such as exposure and zoom. OV drivers either can't do that or are denied control by the ISP layer.
The Metro video app works fine and so does Skype, so it looks like Intel provided Microsoft with ISP programing model. Perhaps CISCO can get it, too. As for myself, I'm trying to use my private channels at Intel to get this info.

    hi there,
how should I sychronize my allready exsisting adobe photoshop cs3 adobe dreamweaver cs3 from my  home computer on my windows surface pro tablet 8.1@@

Was this from disc or download?
If from disc, you'll need to connect an external disc drive via USB to the Surface.

    Hi Team,
We are working on the windows 8 pro tablet to test the standard
    service manager 4.2 application
During the testing in windows 8 Pro tablets, when we want to enter any data in syclo screen with the help of tablet’s keyboard, the input
fields becomes so small that we are not able to enter the data.
Is there any configuration which can be done so that the screen isclearly visible when data entry is made in the syclo screen.
If anyone has faced similar issue please share how to over come this.
    Please advice

    Hello Phil,
Command bars were deprecated and shouldn't be used any longer. Instead, you need to use the Fluent UI (aka Ribbon UI) instead. You can read more about the new UI in the following series of articles in MSDN:
Customizing Context Menus in Office 2010
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 1 of 3)
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 2 of 3)
Customizing the 2007 Office Fluent Ribbon for Developers (Part 3 of 3)
As a workaround you can add a custom control to the context
menu with the getEnabled or getVisible callback which will be invoked before the context menu is shown.

  • New windows 8 pro tablet

with the announce of the new Surface Pro tablet from microsoft, with the new windows 8, well, the ios support is not important anymore, at least for me.... with this tablet you will run .exe applications, the native director x.xxx publication....

    errare humanum est.
A fullscreen director projector is not an app.
    Try it.
Maybe Adobe will release an update, that is good for creating "projector apps"
Unfortunately this will be for Windows 12 OS ( i'm afraid Windows 12 and Director 12 will have the same release date)

  • Classpath has no effect in XP Pro Tablet Edition

I have serious problems regarding installing ajava package(javabook.zip). My notebook runs with Windows XP Pro Tablet Edition. I changed the variable by using the control panel/system/advanced etc.. No Java-editor recognizes the CLASSPATH entries. Even when I unpack all classes in a folder. My classpath-variable is : C:\Java\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib\rt.jar;C:\Java\j2sdk1.4.2\lib\javabook.zip;C:\Java\Classes;D:\Java\classes;.
I tried it by unpacking, by creating a *.jar-file, by copying in different folder and by de-/reinstalling the JDK. Even I mounted the archive directly with NetBeans. Nothing works. I started Windows after each change new to take these changes in effect without success.
The funny thing is, with my home computer (desktop) running under WinXP Home everything works fine. All your sample programs are running great.
May be there is a trick I do not know.

Good question. That is the funny thing! With echo %classpath% everything seems to be o.k. But not one of my java editors will recognize this package. When I use this package on my other computer (XP Home) everything will be recognize correctly.
The only way for me was to kill alle entries in all classes which are defining the package name. But this solves my main problem only temoprarry.
P.S. Sorry , English is not my native language ;-).

  • Unable to install Cisco Jabber Video in Windows 8

When I attempt to install Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence (version 4.6 and 4.7) in Windows 8, I get the following error message:
The error says: "The wizard was interrupted before Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence could be completely installed. Your system has not be modified. To complete Installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."
The error occurs for 4.6 and 4.7. What can be done to resolve this issue?

    Hi Robert,
Is Windows 8 on a Surface Tablet or desktop/laptop?
If Tablet, this platform is not supported.  No ETA on when a version will be released to support this.
If desktop/laptop, then you need to update your video driver by visiting the website of the manufacturer, i.e. Intel, nVidia, ATI, etc. The latest video driver cannot be obtained by using the Microsoft update tool.  These drivers are usually generic and/or not the latest.
Once installed, this error should go away.
If installed and you still get the error, then this means your video card is unsupported and you will not be able to use this software.

  • Call/video not working between Cisco jabber for Windows and VCS control C40s

    Hello,
I've been struggling with no luck how to make a call using Cisco Jabber for Windows 9.6.0 registered to CM 8.6.2 with intercluster ICT to another CM 8.6.2 where we have a VCS Control 7.0.2 via GK H225, and all C40s are registered as H.323.
The VCS has interworking between H323 and SIP, however not sure if there is any problem with that. Assuming it is ok, not sure either if I'm facing any interoperability issue because in my remote site I have C40 (H323 registered at VCS and SIP listening mode) and cisco jabber for windows which is SIP based.
If is not possible, would I be able to change my C40 from H323 to SIP at VCS, or have both H323/SIP registered at VCS? If so, will I need to change as well instead of GK I'll have to establish a SIP Trunk between the CM and VCS?
Another thing I do not believe either I would be able to have one VCS connected with two clusters, right?
I'm just trying to find a solution in case my current topology is not compatible, but feel free if you have any better idea to make it work.
Anyway here is what is happening:
When I make a call from my cisco jabber windows to C40 using alias number. The call is being redirected just fine to the C40 and it rings, however when someoene or the auto answer picks it up, the call dropped right away.
However, if I enabled the MTP in my CSF device, the call gets longer before dropping. I was even able to see my jabber " start video" turns green, before was grayed out all the time and the call dropped faster. I hear a fast busy tone.
I'm able to provide SDI traces, logs, diagnostic sip/h323 calls from VCS in order to know for sure if this is an incompatible issue or something I can workaround.
Let me know if someone of you are interested in read these logs or could point me on the right direction.
    Thanks!

    Ok,
I have looked at both logs. I have to mentinon though that you didnt
provide the log that shows the h323 setup between cucm and the VCS. This
is  most likely because the call originated from a different cucm than
the ones you provided the logs from.
The call would have orginated from the first cucm in the cucm group of
    this trunk: Name=RL_TRUNK_VIDEO
The cucm ip will be : 10.252.53.10.
This is the VCS log that confirms where the h323 request originated

  • Jabber for Windows Video calling in Deskphone mode

    Hi
Does Jabber for windows support video calling in deskphone mode? I have 7942 IP Phone, VT advantage camera on Laptop and Jabber clinet insatlled on laptop. Can i make video callng with Jabber in Deskphone mode?
It is not working please help.
    Regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
Yes, Jabber for Windows supports video calling in deskphone mode.
You'll need to install the Cisco Media Service Interface specific to your version of Jabber and correctly configure Jabber for Deskphone Video.
Please follow these instructions to configure Deskphone Video:
    For Jabber for Windows 9.1
    For Jabber for Windows 9.2
Once completed, if you run Jabber you should see the following when you open the Connection Status window (Help > Show connection status):

  • Itunes 10.5 crashes with no error when trying to play any music, video, or import/scan from the library folder on the compter with Windows 7 Pro.

Fresh install with all older itunes un-installed as well as other Apple software.
Now cannot get any songs, videos, or even scan library folder for songs to work on the computer.
itunes just simply crashes with no error comments.
This is itunes 10.5 on a Windows 7 Pro system.

Same here, though on XP. Have tried cleaning registry, reinstalling, deleting preferences. Created a new user with no library and I have the problem there, too, so it's not the library.
Is there no one to call about this??

  • Why does Firefox 4 not open video files (news and youtube) at all, but Firefox 3 and MSIE 8 open these video files quickly, all on my Dell Dimension 8250 desktop with MS Windows XL Pro?

I subscribe to an Earthlink package of telephone and ISP through DSL in Dallas, Texas. To avoid the congestion (time outs and files not found) of the virtual "cloud" servers, as a workaround I connect to the Internet through dial-up on each session on my pc. There is only one pc or computer on my local network. I downloaded Firefox 4 RC and it failed (would not open video files on the Internet), so I removed the Firefox 4 RC program from my pc, and then I downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.16, which works fine.
My operating system is Windows XP Pro.

Try disabling hardware acceleration. Many visual bugs can be attributed to issues with graphics drivers.
(Firefox -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> [ ] Use hardware acceleration when available)

  • How do I connect a Windows 8.1 tablet to a new Macbook Pro?

I am going to be purchasing a new Macbook Pro soon.  In addition, I'll probably purchase a new Windows 8.1 tablet to replace my aging iPad 2.  How can I connect the Windows tablet to the new Macbook Pro so I can add/remove data & movies?
Thanks to everyone for this help on this; I appreciate it.

Windows 8.1 is designed as a desktop operating system, so it doesn't need to be connected to any PC and you won't be able to connect it to your MacBook Pro because it hasn't got any port to do it.
Instead, what you can do is to install iTunes on the tablet and access to all your content purchased from the iTunes Store by using your Apple ID, or transfer your songs by using Home Sharing > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3819

Windows 7 will download video just fine via the USB cable and your Import utility on the computer. Connect the device to the computer and it should open Auto Play and provide you a selection to import photos and video. The video would be saved in whatever location you have set up in Auto Play. Generally the default is the Video Library.

  • Can I get Cisco Jabber 10.6.0 to work on Windows XP Pro SP3?

We are implementing the new Cisco Jabber 10.6.0, per a requirement, but we still have some Windows XP Pro SP3 users. The issue is that with this new client the app will not load due to error:  CiscoJabber.exe Entry Point Not Found: the procedure entry point inet_ntop could not be located in the dynamic link library ws2_32.dll.
I understand Windows XP is "not supported", but since we are forced to upgrade to this version I was hoping for a work around for our Windows XP users until they can upgrade to Windows 7.
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks for your time.

Thank you for the suggestion. Here is what I did:
    Uninstalled 10.6
Removed all folders and file traces of the install
Tried to install 9.6 - got hung up during install so had to reboot
Tried right-click on exe / uninstall and got message it was only used if installed, so it never really installed even thou I had a broken link to jabber on the desktop
Tried install again. Second attempt was same thing. It gets hung on the windows installer - preparing to install... had to reboot again
Right-click exe / repair and got message it was only used if installed
Removed all folders and file traces of the install
    Redownloaded the exe
Same issue, will not install. Hang right after registering product completes.
So i'll be looking into why this is not installing now. :)

The Surface Pro uses the Intel processor so this is normal Windows based on the intel processor and not an ARM processor based port of Windows.  You should be able to use Acrobat XI Pro.

Yes, both Acrobat XI and Reader XI have been tested and are confirmed to operate on Windows 8.
