Jabra headset and Cisco 7942 Aux port

Hi ,
Two of our employees are using Jabra headsets. They are currently working over the analog headset port, but they would like to use the digital converter cable the headset came with to improve performance. How should I turned it on to utilize the auxiliary port in behind the phone.
Head model:       Jabra GN9300e
Phone model:     7942
Any help would be much appreciated.
Saima

Hi Saima,
With the Cisco 7942, you would leverage the setting under
the product specific porting of the config via device>phone
and set Wireless Headset Hookswitch Control to Enabled

Hi. I have a Cisco ASR 1006 Router, with the the aux-port connected but i can´t configure the "line aux 0".. the line does not exist in the running config.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr1000/install/guide/asr1routers/asr1higV8/asr1_hw2.html
In the related link Cisco says "The AUX port is a diagnostics access port".
I need to connect Cisco ASR1000 Aux-port with a Cisco CRS Console-Port as a second remote control method.
I Wish to confirm this before deploy several sites in the same way.

  • Is it possible to use Cisco 1721 AUX port to dial into MS-RAS?

Is it possible to use Cisco 1721 AUX port with external modem to dial into Microsoft W2k-RAS server?

Hello Thanks for the link. The place where I'm stuck is when the async is going through the LCP negotiation. the LCP Confreg sends but I dont' get back anything. • Jabra GN9120 headset and Cisco 7970G

I purchased a GN9120 wireless headset and tried to install it on my Cisco 7970G IP phone. But when I use it, the far end user always hears echoing.
Does anyone have the experience of using GN9120?
What is the proper setting for GN9120 to make it works with my Cisco phone?

Did you ever find a solution for this?

  • IPhone 3g and aux port

    Hi Everyone,
I bought an 3.5mm cable to connect my iPhone to the Aux port on my car's radio. The playback works but only seems to play from one speaker. Is there a setting on the iPhone that I'm missing or do I need to play around with the settings on my car stereo?
    Thanks

It was a cable issue. The cable I had was mono not stereo. Got the correct cable and it's working fine

  • Configuring - Cisco 2921 with Switch Module/POE PS and 3750-x 24 port switch

    This is what I have
    - Cisco 2921 router
             with SM-ES2-24-P switch module and
                     POE power supply
    -Cisco 3750x- 24 port Switch
I have port G1/0 (which connects to 24p Switch Module port g0/26 logically) configured with 3 sub interfaces (management, User and VOIP)
I want to connect 3750x to G0/1 on 2921 via fiber GBIC but want to use same three VLANs
I can not daisy chain 3750x via the switch module because it does not have fiber port.
I do not want to create another routed (g0/1) interface because I want to keep Users on both switches on the same subnet without further splitting the subnet in two.
I hope I am not making this confusing.
How can I bridge g1/0 and g0/1 so I can pass vlan traffic between two switches?
Second problem i have is ...
I have a VOIP connected to switch module (SM) and it is not getting any power.
I went in to all the interfaces on SM and issued power inline auto command
On the SM (sh power inline) - available is 0.0(w)
on the 2921 (sh power inline)
       - power supply status is good,
       - maximun power available is 280.
       - interface G1/0( which connects to SM)
          *device is unknown
          * powered off
         * allocated 0.0 watts.
    I already tried resetting SM
Is there any other command I need to issue?
    thanks for your help.

I'm having a similar issue. I can get trunked connectivity between the switch module and the router if I put the IP address on the router sub interface, but not if I put it on a VLAN interface. I was hoping to have it on a VLAN sub interface on the router so I could use Gig0/1 and Gig0/2 to connect other switches and have them on the same VLANs. I'm using Gig1/0 on the router side and Gig0/51 on the switch side (48-port module).
Any help? Am I on the wrong track altogether?

  • Telnet to router through AUX port

i have configured my router to telnet through modem dialin but when i dials from my pc to router it give me garbage charcter in my hyperterminal. can any one help me that is this is problem with my router configuration or the cable connection with the router.
router AUX port --> ciscoconsole cable --> cisco 29-4043-01-->modem

Even though the AUX port is supposed to "auto-baud" (usually you need to hit the "Enter" key a couple times), some/many/most/all current modems will set the DTE speed (the console cable) to the DCE speed (the modem-to-modem link) ... and "auto-baud" doesn't always work.
Since the modems will (by default) connect at 56K (or the top speed), chances are that it will try to talk to your Cisco device at some baud above 9.6K, which it is probably expecting.
You can do one of a couple things:
Hard set the modems to a 9.6k DTE speed (and/or DCE speed, since you won't go faster then the slowest baud)
    OR
Experiment on the router to hard set the DTE speed to the baud set on the modem's serial port (frequently 115 kilobaud).
Check it out and get back to us.
    Good Luck
    Scott

  • Connection a RS232 device to the Aux port.

    Dear,
I have a home lab wthe a 2600 access server (16 port octal).
From this 2600 router I want to connect to a Raritan 8 ports RPC.

I tried a lot and still I do not get connected to the RPC, has anyone ever done this before.
When I use a rs232 serial cable from the RPC to my serial pc port, I get into the rpc directly when putty is opened.

  • Aux port configuration

    Hi,
    I have a following configuration:
Router AUX port -> FW Console
If there is something problem in the FW I can log the FW from cisco aux but the problem is now that the aux port is sending character's to FW's console port and now if the FW is rebooting it will go bootloop because when the FW boot's there is situation where is something "press any key" and now cisco router sends characters and the FW boots again.
Router AUX port config is following:
    line aux 0
    no exec
    transport input all
    stopbits 1
Which aux-port config the Cisco won't send any character to FW's console.

    Hi Jody,
    Thanks for your reply.
Actually I have no logging console configured at router but I will configure this also to the FW..I forgot to configure this at FW :)

  • Out-of-band dialin to AUX port

    Hi
Setting up a modem to dial into on the AUX port has been a nightmare. I have the following configured on R1:
    line aux 0
    password cisco
    login
    modem inout
    speed 115200
    flowcontrol hardware
    transport input all
    modem auto configure type default
I then have to reverse telnet to the modem, this being necessary for a remote dialin to connect to the aux port. However, when I dialin from a remote pc using the normal Microsoft dial-up connection, I get a black window with a blinking prompt but I'm unable to type in window. If I enter a command in the window, I can see it being entered into the modem of the AUX port. If I click the button called DONE on this screen, it gets stuck on "verifying username and password". The reverse consol session then shoots out garbage characters and connection drops.
All I want is a simple out-of-band dialin to connect to a remote router. I have spent 2 valuable days on this and gone through all documentation. Is it my dial-up connection or the modem (the modem is a standard 56k V.92/V.90 with NO dip switches only software switches). The only AT command I've used is the at&f1s0=1 I simply cannot get hold of a USRobotics modem in this country. I have tried connecting at 9600 but that doesn't work.
    Help please

  • Connectivity issues between Cisco 2901 and Cisco SG300-52

    Hello,
I am having some serious connectivity issues between the hosts in my LAN.
My LAN is based on a Cisco 2901 router and a Cisco SG300-52 port switch.
The issue that has been happening is that connections between hosts on the LAN (remote desktop, extended ping, etc) is very unstable, at some point I can see a 35% lost packets on an extended ping. This happens at any time of the day and from any host.
All hosts are on the same Vlan(default Vlan) and on the same subnet. Some hosts have fixed IP addresses (servers and network equipment) and others obtain their IP address trough a DHCP reservation  established on the router (reserved with the MAC address of every host).
I can provide further details if needed, because this issue is very serious and I would really appreciate any insight or support.
    Many thanks in advanced.
    Sair Amer
EDIT:  After doing every test we could think of, we finally found the reason behind this problem.
It turns out that the switch has problems handling communications between clients at different speeds, because most of the hosts connected were working at 100 Mbps but the servers were working at 1000 Mbps (and the communication between host and servers wasn't stable).
After manually setting the speed on all ports to 100 Mbps the problems have stopped.
Many thanks for you help on this issue.

  • Routing via AUX port

I have a dial-up modem connected to my router's AUX port.
Using this setup, I need to get remote users to access our internal servers via dial-up.
The users aren't network admins, so they should not have exec access to the routers. They only need to be able to access the servers on our system, i.e. I need to route their Laptops's traffic via the aux port to the intended server.
Is there a way of configuring the router and modem to do this? Or do I need more equipment in order for this to work?
The router is a 2960 series and the modem is a US Robotics dial up modem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

These configs are a bit old and crusty , but they should give you an idea on how to set up async routing on the AUX ports. As Paolo says , performance is not brilliant, but it will work ... The chat scripts would likely need to be modified to suit your particular modems -

  • Communication problem between ASA 5510 and Cisco 3750, L2 Decode drops

Having problem with communication between ASA 5510 an Cisco Catalyst 3750.
Here is the Cisco switch port facing the ASA 5510 configuration:
    interface FastEthernet2/0/6
    description Trunk to ASA 5510

    switchport trunk native vlan 50

And here is the ASA 5510 port configuration:

    no ip address
    interface Ethernet0/3.500

There is a default route on ASA to X.X.X.1.
When I try to ping from ASA X.X.X.1 i get:
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 31.24.36.1, timeout is 2 seconds:
Also in the output of show interface eth 0/3 on the ASA i can see that the L2 Decode drop counter increases.
I have also changed the ports on the Switch and ASA but the same error stays.
    Any thoughts?

I don't see anything wrong with your trunk configuration; I have a similar one working between an ASA 5520 and a Catalyst 3750G.
Maybe you should adjust the "speed 100"?  In my experience, partial autoconfiguration results in duplex mis-matches, which results in dropped packets.
I'd try removing the "speed 100" and letting the ASA port autonegotiate with the switch.  Alternatively, have both sides set
       speed 100
       duplex full
    and see if things improve.

Thanks for helping me again. I really appreciate.
I don't hve any NAT-exemptions in Cisco IOS Router. Transform-set I will change soon, but I've tried with tunnel mode and it didn't work.
Maybe NAT-exemptions is the issue. Can you advice me which exemptions should be in Cisco IOS Router?
Because on Cisco ASA I guess I have everything.
