Jaggies while dragging timeline head and annoying wireline nick-nacks

Have been trying to switch off the really annoying behaviour in the After Effects CS6 user interface but can't seem to identify in preferences what will do this.
1 - When I drag the time head in the timeline to a different frame the display deteriorates into a sort of useless jaggy mish-mash that seems to have no useful function whatever.
I find this so annoying that it is interfering with the creative process !
How can I turn this off and just wait for the display to catch up with whatever quality setting I have chosen ?
2 - During the same action - when I grab the timeline thumb and start to drag it all sorts of wireline rectangles, diagonals and edge markers flicker around and flash on and off as overlays in the composition window. These flashy little bits of window dressing also flick on and off as I pass over elements and layers either in the composition or in the timeline.
I can find all these items quite easily without these flashy nick-nacks.
All of this irritating flashy-flickery because it's possible so we've done it UI behaviour is completely redundant and useless information - nothing that I can't find out in other ways if I really want or need to.
Please can somone tell me how to turn all of this behaviour off ?

BTW, one of the things that you might find valuable is reading through the lists of changes for the several versions between your upgrades.

How to print jTable with custom header and footer....

I'm trying to print a jTable with custom header and footer.But
jTable1.print(PrintMode,headerFormat,footerFormat,showPrintDialog,attr,interactive)
does not allow multi line header and footer. I read in a chat that we can make custom header and footer and wrap the printable with that of the jTable. How can we do that..

Heads up display for viewport pixel size while dragging the bar!

Would be a great feature to display the active viewport size in a heads up display while dragging the bar so we can accurately determine the size of viewport to select. Love this program and can't wait for Version 1 and all that's to come!

Looks like the EndPage class was compiled with a later version of Java (49.0 == Java 1.5) and you are trying to run it with older version of java.exe. Type
java -version
to verify.

Close folders while drag-and-dropping files?

When dragging files to move them, often some large folders will be open, which means I have to drag/scroll thru the file list to get to other folders. Is there a way to close folders while dragging files?

Keyboard shortcuts while dragging-and-dropping?

In Windows, when I'm dragging and dropping files from one folder to another, I can press keys on the keyboard to force it to change its behaviour -- for example, if I hold the Crtl key down, it will force it to copy files instead of move them. Similarly, I can hold down the shift key to force it to move files when it wants to default to copying them.
What is the equivalent keypress on a Mac running OS X 10.9.2? It keeps moving files when I want to copy them (and vice-versa) and I just can't figure out which key(s) to press while dragging-and-dropping to make it change its behaviour.

Press the Option key to force a copy, or the Command key to force a move. Pressing both at once will create an alias.

your problem might be due to any of the following
1. No java 2 plugin - install it.
2.drag & drop between AWT & Swing Frames(windows)
3. Add the following text to your java.policy file and restart your computer.

After applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, I have provided content to
the page more than 100 lines and try to format the text from ribbon actions(format text area). On mouse over of font or fore color, the control jumps to the highlighted content area and not able to select the color. The page scrolls down and not able to click
on any action.
Consider this scenario also.
A content editor web part is added toward the bottom of the page.
Text is added to this (direct in the web part, not via a 'content link')
You highlight some text and go to the Markup Style dropdown...
Everything is fine until you hover over the "Paragraph" markup style, and suddenly the page scrolls to the web part you are editing, and you didn't have a chance
to click and apply the "Paragraph" formatting
I have tried testing this with text typed directly into the Content Editor, text pasted in from somewhere else, and text pasted in from somewhere else using "Paste as
Plaintext" option in the ribbon. In each scenario, I get the same results.
Furthermore, I have also tested this in both IE8 and IE9 and get the same results.
I can get it to occur most regularly with trying to apply the Paragraph "Markup Style" but
I've also seen this happen with Font Size (any font size). It's very frustrating since you aren't able to actually apply the formatting you need because the page jumps before you can click. Has anyone experienced this before. Any feedback would
help.

I try to apply full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, the ribbon is missing after I scroll down to the web part. And I cannot apply the "Paragraph" markup style to the content.
I recommend to use the SharePoint core styles to preserve the native functionality and GUI.
By design in SharePoint, the ribbon is always at the top. When you select the content, you can apply the "Paragraph" markup style in the ribbon.

I want to genrate header and footer for the PDF file however on the call of the EndPage class i got a Unsupported Version Error Unsupported major minor Version Error and Class loader Define class
What has gone wrong ?.

Can you provide more information about what you were trying to do? In particular, what does your code like like?
Also, can you include the stack trace, and the complete error message?

When i am trying to print header its Font size is very big and its in one line.How i can use expected font and expected text here.

I have just updated to Pages 5.1 and now the templares which I have saved do not displat the header and footer which they were saved with in the previous version. How can I have the header and footer included when I open a template?

That is becuase Pages 5.1 has numerous unnounced surprises for the unwary user. Among the surprises:
- it strips out images from headers and footers without warning
- it strips out bookmarks without wanring (yes, all those bookamrks you laboriously put into a document: poof! Gone.)
- it strips out alternating left/right margins, without warning.
There are many more suprises, as you'll see from glancing through these discussions. They fall into two main categories: things that are present in version 4.3 but that are missing in 5.1, things like
-mail merge
-meaningful Applescript/Services support
-non-contiguous text selection
-ability to set defaul zoom
-ability to see comments while editing
-ability to print comments
-ability to read RTF files
-ability to drag in hyperlinked ted from a browser
These about about 90 other features are gone.
Then there are the bugs. Hyperlinks do not reliably export to a PDF file any longer. There have been multiple problems with printing report. Some fonts place stray characters in the headers. Many reports of the program crashing, courrupting files, etc.
Fortunately for you, the previous version of Pages is still on your system. Export any documents you may have created or edited with Pages 5.1 (another great surprise: files created with version 5.1 cannot be read by any previous version of Pages: not just 4.3 but even 5.01!). Then trash 5.1 and use 4.3 until (unless?) it is stable and has a reasonably robust feature set.

How to read 'clicked header' AND selected row from multicolumn listbox?

I have a multicolumn listbox filled with 6 columns and about 500 rows.
I want the user to be able to click on a column header, and sort the listbox alphabetically on that column. I've written the code for that, and that works. (using the 'itemnames' en 'get clicked col hdr' properties.)
However, I also want to include the option, that when a user highlights a row, and then clicks on the header, that after the listbox gets sorted it scrolls down to the selected row.
(So that the user doesn't have to search for it)
And that's where things go wrong, because the value of the listbox changes to zero when you click on a column header. No I idea why it does that, but it's rather
annoying. Can I change that behaviour somehow?
Or any ideas how to get around it?

Seems I got a working solution now.
Did take a while to figure out why your solution worked. Basicly, you're reading the row from a few iterations before.
As soon as I understood that, I simplified it a little. Look at the attached file... I think it does the same. :-)
Jared asked for the sorting routine. As I don't seem to be able to attach files when replying to comments, I took the liberty to include it here also.
Basicly, I just use the 'sort 1D array' that comes with Labview 6. To be able to sort a 2D array, I convert every row to a cluster. That's something the 'sort 1D array' VI can handle nicely.
To sort on the correct column, I just cut all columns in front, and paste them behind again. A
fter sorting, I reverse the process.

Show Windows contents while dragging disabled after standby

I have noticed that the option "Show windows contents while dragging" gets disabled after I close the lid to put the machine into standby (hibernation disabled) and then open it again. Does anyone know what to do in order do disable that annoying feature?

The way to solve this problem, is demonstrated by the following code:
JDesktopPane desktopPane = new JDesktopPane();
desktopPane.putClientProperty("JDesktopPane.dragMode", "outline");This will then set all of the internal frames to outline mode when the frames are dragged instead of sluggishly drawing the components with the internal frames when dragged.
