Jaggy Image problem for Flash 8

Hello, hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I"m
having for a banner project - the company sent me a .fla which
includes 2 dvd cover images, formatted as .png's. Upon opening it
in Flash 8, the images are jaggy. I went to the library and clicked
"allow smoothing" for each, however, upon publishing, the images,
that are supposed to spin and rotate, are very slow in its motion.
Is there any way I can get these to be non-jaggy and still retain
its original quick rotation motion? Thanks again in advance! I've
attached a link to what the .swf is looking like now.

i would search the forum for using bitmaps in flash - been
discussed over and over - basically
import them at 72dpi - never scale them or rotate them or
else they will lose their quality.

  • Reducing PS image size for Flash

    Hi,
    I am importing layers from my Photoshop file to Flash to create a Flash Banner ad using CS5.  My Banner size is set-up in PS as 160x600 72DPI. Are there any tricks to getting my file size down without losing anymore resolution when importing to the flash Stage? The images seem to be my biggest problem. I am converting the type to vector when importing into Flash and this helps.
    THANKYOU

    If you can create any of the graphics directly in Flash instead of importing them, that can help minimize file weight.  Otherwise, the weight of the images you import will be the weight of the images borne by the Flash file, so you should do what you can to optimize before importing.

  • Flash Animations and Movies are lagging after having played a flash game which was graphics intense heavy and frequently refreshed which caused lags, how can I fix this lagging problem for Flash?

    On June 30th, I was playing a game called Lil Einstein's Manhattan project over at Newgrounds.com and the game although fine at first, later on in the advanced levels of the game, started to cause my browser to lag intensely and heavily. Now, when I try and watch other flash movies and animations, the flash doesn't run as smoothly, there are skips in the flash animations and movies, and it slows down.
    I tried scan disks, I tried defragmenting my computer, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox.. Nothing worked to restore the Flash.
    But when I view Flash movies and animations on Internet Explorer, they run fine... but not anymore on Firefox.
    Other Firefox users who have played this game also reported problems as well..
    How can I fix my Firefox Browser and return the Flash running to normal?

    If you have already scanned PC with an updated Anti-Virus and still the issue exists then I would suggest some troubleshooting techniques to resolve this problem:
    Update browser
    Remove unwanted Add-ons
    Remove unwanted Tool-bars
    Repair Registry
    Repair ActiveX objects and shared DLLs
    In case of facebook and Zynga I would suggest to Check for Problems with your Internet Connection.Try to Update Java and Reduce the Number of Running Internet Applications.
    Sometimes Multimedia content lag due to Hardware Acceleration, so disabling Hardware Acceleration should fix your problem.
    Open Flash Video in browser
    Right click on Video Player | Settings
    Open Display Panel
    Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration
    If issue still exists then you can find some more techniques described in detail here:

  • Down loading problems for flash player

    trying to install the new flash player on my iMac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and it downloads to 25-30% then stops. I've ran a uninstall and tried again but still same outcome

    Hello,
    This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
    If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
    Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, OR
    Download the stand-alone installer posted at the bottom of the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
    If the behaviour reproduces, please clear the browser's cache and try downloading again.
    Thank you.

  • It seems the OSFM player streaming causes init problems for Flash Player in Linux

    I've been running a number of tests with the MediaPlayerSprite. When the video is to be streamed via RTMP FlashPlayer10 Linux debugger hangs for quite a while before drawing anything to the stage. The problem lies in the OSFMplayer/FlashPlayer because if you do not add the player to the stage via addChild you can hear the video almost instantaneously. However once you addChild the Flash Player goes dead for about 15 secs at least before the stage items appear.
    In addition if you set the MPS autoplay to false all your onstage assets appear, however once you click a the play button things freeze up before they stream. The workaround here is to wait about 15 secs before clicking the play button then streaming is instant ( on most occasions ). With non streamed media assets appear once the compile is done.
    Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit / FlashBuilder

    This sounds like a Flash Player (Linux) bug, as the addChild call wouldn't go through any OSMF code.
    I did a quick search in the Flash Player bug database, and the only issue that looks similar is this one:
    https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-2914
    Recommend you file a bug with the Flash Player team.

  • Since upgrade to FF13: having problems with flash content, especially videos when scrolling/multi tasking--freezing the video and sound for 1-2 sec. Any advice?

    At first, the same night I decided to update--things were fine but after using the browser hours later a second time: some flash scripts would simply not respond and freeze the tab the content is on or like in my question, constantly stutter. The problem for flash videos only seem to occur when I scroll onto links or when moving up/down a page. I encountered similar problem with FF7--like that time, I installed/uninstalled the flash player and even resetted firefox but to no avail--the problem persisted. It is also present while in safe mode. P.s. such problem is seemingly not present in other browsers which brought me to ask this question for assistance.

    I have the same issue. When I scroll past embedded videos, such as YouTube videos, they are torn or disrupted. The video may shrink in size when I scroll, etc. Issues only arise when scrolling past the video. When playing, no issues.
    I've tried the following that did not help:
    Safe mode
    Video driver up to date
    Flash completely up to date
    All plugins up to date.
    Only started happening when I updated to FF13.

  • Showing image instead of flash for mobiles?

    I am just wondering if it is possible to show an image instead of flash content for mobiles?
    I want to allow the adobe sniffer to do its thing when it is people using pc and mac browsers and direct them to the plug in page to download the flash player if they need it, but is there a way to sniff for a mobile / smart phone browser and if they cant view flash it will show an image instead?
    Any help appreciated.

    You can use Javascript to detect the browser and platform for any given user. You can then parse that information to push the content that you want to use for the result. You can find a good write-up with example code here: http://www.quirksmode.org/js/detect.html

    First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
    Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
    You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
    If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • Ajax for Flash in IE problem

    Currently I'm doing a project that requires to deploy ajax
    with a Flash object. I use the fscommand for Flash to communicate
    with javascript in order to do the Ajax.
    I create a flash file name ask.fla. In the file I make a
    button and add the script for it like this:
    on(press)
    fscommand ("send_var", 1);
    I have read in the manual of Flash how to make flash
    communicate with javascript, and I have configure the publish
    setting of HTML file to run "Flash with FSCommand" .
    I have another 2 files namely: ask.php and ask_get.php.
    The content of the ask.php file is:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
    Transitional//EN" "
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="

    xml:lang="en" lang="en">

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>ask</title>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#ffffff"
    onload="makeRequest('ask_get.php','?test=10');">
    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    var isInternetExplorer =
    navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1;
    // Handle all the FSCommand messages in a Flash movie.
    function ask_DoFSCommand(command, args) {
    var askObj = isInternetExplorer ? document.all.ask :
    document.ask;
    alert("HELLO");
    var http_request = false;
    function makeRequest(url, parameters) {
    http_request = false;
    if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // Mozilla, Safari,...
    http_request = new XMLHttpRequest();
    if (http_request.overrideMimeType) {
    http_request.overrideMimeType('text/html');
    } else if (window.ActiveXObject) { // IE
    try {
    http_request = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");
    } catch (e) {
    try {
    http_request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    } catch (e) {}
    if (!http_request) {
    alert('Cannot create XMLHTTP instance');
    return false;
    http_request.onreadystatechange = alertContents;
    http_request.open('GET', url + parameters, true);
    http_request.send(null);
    function alertContents() {
    if (http_request.readyState == 4) {
    if (http_request.status == 200) {
    result = http_request.responseText;
    document.getElementById('myspan').innerHTML = result ;
    } else {
    alert('There was a problem with the request.');
    if (navigator.appName &&
    navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1 &&
    navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows") != -1 &&
    navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows 3.1") == -1) {
    document.write('<script language=\"VBScript\"\>\n');
    document.write('On Error Resume Next\n');
    document.write('Sub ask_FSCommand(ByVal command, ByVal
    args)\n');
    document.write(' Call ask_DoFSCommand(command, args)\n');
    document.write('End Sub\n');
    document.write('</script\>\n');
    //-->
    </script>
    <!--url's used in the movie-->
    <!--text used in the movie-->
    <div name="myspan" id="myspan"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    The content of the ask_get.php is:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    id="ask" width="462" height="410" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="ask.swf" /><param
    name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor"
    value="#ffffff" /><embed src="ask.swf" quality="high"
    bgcolor="#ffffff" width="462" height="410" swLiveConnect=true
    id="ask" name="ask" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    </object>
    The purpose of the two file is that when the file ask.php is
    called, the code in the even <body onload> will call the
    makeRequest function, which replate the <div name="myspan"
    id="myspan"> with the code in the file ask_get.php, so that the
    flash object is embed indirectly in the file.(but it will be shown,
    and some how I use it to make the ajax for the page).
    When I run the file ask.php in my webserver in Mozilla
    FireFox, it run well, the flash file can call the javascript
    function, but when I run the file ask.php in IE, the flash file can
    not do anything, it can not call the javascript function.
    You can check this by running the file ask.php in both
    FireFox and IE in your webserver (IIS or Apache).
    If the code to embed the swf object in php file is written
    directly in the very php file the swf object can contact with
    javascript very well and correctly
    , as you can test it by running the file ask1.php in both IE
    and FireFox in your webserver (IIS or Apache) , when you click the
    button, it will show you the message "HELLO" which is call from a
    javascript function.
    Here is the code of the file ask1.php, which embed the flash
    object directly in the php file and it works well in both FireFox
    and IE:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
    Transitional//EN" "
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="
    http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
    xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>ask</title>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#ffffff"
    onload="makeRequest('ask_get.php','?test=10');">
    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    var isInternetExplorer =
    navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1;
    function ask_DoFSCommand(command, args) {
    var askObj = isInternetExplorer ? document.all.ask :
    document.ask;
    alert("HELLO");
    if (navigator.appName &&
    navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1 &&
    navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows") != -1 &&
    navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Windows 3.1") == -1) {
    document.write('<script language=\"VBScript\"\>\n');
    document.write('On Error Resume Next\n');
    document.write('Sub ask_FSCommand(ByVal command, ByVal
    args)\n');
    document.write(' Call ask_DoFSCommand(command, args)\n');
    document.write('End Sub\n');
    document.write('</script\>\n');
    //-->
    </script>
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    id="ask" width="462" height="410" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="ask.swf" /><param
    name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor"
    value="#ffffff" /><embed src="ask.swf" quality="high"
    bgcolor="#ffffff" width="462" height="410" swLiveConnect=true
    id="ask" name="ask" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    </object>
    </body>
    </html>
    The problem is when I call an object by replacing the <div
    id=...> with the code for the flash object from the ask_get.php
    file, only FireFox can call the javascript but IE does not.
    So anyone who know the reason why, please tell me. Thank you
    very much.

    Be sure your HTML wrapper is embedding the flash object correctly in IE. In all other browsers it can be embedded as an object of a specific type. IE has always required a separate install of an activeX with a certain CLSID.
    Look up SWFObject and use that to embed your SWF to be sure that it's being embedded properly for each browser, or use the HTML generated by flash and make sure your publish settings that you have "FSCommand" selected in the drop-down so flash can talk to the browser.

  • Support image for Flash

    I created Flash movie for Home Page. The movie is not visible on I Phone and cell phone screens so I would like to create static image to replace Flash movie on those devices. How do I have to set up Home Page/Flash on Adobe GoLive CS to achieve it?

    My current notebook wasn't shipped with W8, so no. But it's officially supported by Microsoft. So as long as you have the right edition (Standard or Pro), it will use the key stored in the BIOS.
    There was some documents lying around the web regarding this and several posts and articles.
    Cheers.
    If I helped you, please give me some kudos! ^^

  • Problems with Image Capture for Epson Scanner

    When using image capture for my Epson scanner, at the Image Correction, when I select Manual I get no menu options.

    There is no Epson scanner utility for Mountain Lion, it appears. Even Epson's FAQ defers to Image Capture and says it only provides software for image modification.
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&info Type=FAQ&oid=207953&foid=214278&cat=214269&subcat=214264
    Unfortunately Image Capture completely fails to provide the service it should be expected to. The 3rd party software VueScan seems like it would be adequate once I learned how to manipulate it a little more, but ultimately the only decision I can justify is to hook up the scanner to my Windows PC and use the TWAIN-based scan utility there.
    If there's anywhere I can make an official plea to Apple to get Image Capture in a workable state, feel free to point the way.

    The D810 requires Lightroom 5.6 or newer. There is no way to import the NEF files into Lightroom 4. You can download the latest DNG converter and use it to create DNG copies that can be opened with Lightroom 4. Or, you can upgrade to Lightroom 5.
