JAI install PROBLEM...HELP HELP HELP

I have jdk 6 update 16 and Im trying to install JAI 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 so I can use it in my programs. When I try to install it [jdk or jre of JAI] then I get a message:
"The program requires the installation of Java 2 SDK version 1.3. Aborting Setup.". I'm trying to install it on Windows Seven AND on Windows XP but I get the same message on both O.S. Please help. How will I make it install???

The old build 1.1.2 requires java 2.
Just download the jdk version 1.1.3 from "https://jai.dev.java.net/binary-builds.html" and you will get it installed.
I just try it 2 hours before ;)

  • Firefox Install Problems - Can anyone help me out?

Im not quite sure if I am posting this in the right place, so my apoligies of this is in the wrong part of the discussions.
Recently I downloaded Firefox to my iMac and have had no major problems. My problem is a small annoying one more than anything else. Every time I launch firefox I get a blue window to drag firefox to my applications folder, and the firefox "drive" shows up on the desktop. i just ignore dragging firefox to the applications folder as it is already there. I can use firefox with no issues. I just have to close out the window to drag the application and when i quit firefox eject the drive on the screen. A friend of mine had this happen on his iMac but cannot remember what he did to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are you launching this from the Dock? It sounds like you have somehow created an alias to the Firefox install .dmg on your Dock instead of to the application itself in your Applications folder. Try clicking on the application in the Apps folder. If it starts correctly from there then drag that to your Dock and remove the incorrect alias (right click or control click for extended menu).

  • Snow Leopard install problems...help please

I'm trying to do a fresh install of snow leopard on my Mac mini. My hd has been formatted but I'm having 2 problems. First if I try and run the install from SL ( that I have installed on an external drive) the install goes great but once I get to the restart the install doesn't continue, it acts as if I'm trying to start a new install.
If I boot directly from the install DVD the install just hangs at 31 minutes remaining, this happens about 1 minute into the install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Any ideas?

  • Unique install problem...help!

I've been searching the forum and can't find anyone with a similar problem(mistake) as mine.
I had to delete files to give myself enough space to do the snow leopard install. So I did that, and about 20 minutes in the install crashed. I restart the install, but it is now saying that there is not enough space on the HD to complete the install(presumably from what was put oN the HD from the first attemp, so it will not continue with the install.
The real problem is that I am not able to boot from my hard drive to delete more space. It let's me go to all of my utility options, but I don't know of any way to boot from there, and it will only let mr select the install cd as the startup disk. I held alt down on a restart and the option to boot from my internal drive was there, but it wouldn't boot and went back to the install disk again sending me back to the original screen. I've used disk utility and my hard drive checks out fine.
Does anyone know of a way to be able boot from my hard drive or any other way I can get to my internal drive to delete files so I can continue with the install? Thanks!

    Hi,
Rule of thumb... keep 10 to 15% free disk space all the time.
*Try booting from the original install disk that came with your Mac* and hopefully check the start up disk for errors.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If you cannot boot from your install disk, try booting in Safe Mode
    What is Safe Mode

  • Leopard re-install problem. Please help.

Trying to erase and reinstall Leopard on an iMac refurb I'm sending back to Apple. This was recommended as the best way to get rid of all personal data. Using the Leopard install disc provided with the refurbed iMac but install fails due to trouble reading part of the disc. When I try to quit, the iMac HD doesn't show up as a start up option, only the Leopard install disc and "Network start up" or something similar. Can't eject the Leopard disc and if I restart the iMac it just boots from the install disc. How do I get back to the iMac and eject the install disc?
    Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately holding down the mouse during start up doesn't work--tried it twice. Install did fail during installation as I skipped the disc verification step--didn't realize it could have such dire consequences. I suppose I may have to send it back to Apple with the Leopard install disc in the iMac. Don't know the status of all of our info on the computer. I do have a back up from Time Machine on an external HD. Is there anything to be gained by hooking it up and see if it will boot from that? (Actually don't even know if this makes sense or not.)
    Thanks, Jim

  • Installed successfully but network is not connected. Yet when I go on my Mac network is connected. Is there any other way to solve this problem? Please help.

    Hi,
I have just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my Mac book Pro 13inch, it installed successfully but there is no network connection. Yet when I go on my Mac I can get online no problem. Please help or what other way I can do to connect windows online?

Did you download Windows Support Software when you started installing windows via Bootcamp. If yes you need to then install the Support Software after installing windows which contains Windows drivers for Mac hardware.

Because I know enough to be dangerous...  I was trying to extend the two outside columns down....  Instead of just using faux columns which I have fixed since I posted the question.
The other link problem is the left sidebar links.  When you go to the event photos page I have a repeat of the sidebar links that are on the newsletter page.  I used named anchors on the newsletter page to link to the particular article.  From the Event Photos page the links look like this:
    <a href="1112Visions_Iss1.html/#puzzle" target="_self">[Puzzle]</a>
The problem I am having is that some of these go to the newsletter page and the anchor and some do not (I get an error message saying it  can't find the page).  To add to the problem is that when we choose say the President's Message, when it goes to the newsletter page and the correct anchor, the newsletter page is missing all the links to the graphics... the photos are missing the graphic for the faux columns is missing.  It makes no sense.  When I preview the newsletter page from Dreamweaver everything shows up fine.
I do not know if all of this is being caused because I haven't posted this stuff to the site or what.  I've tried re-booting both the browser and Dreamweaver, dumping the cache and still the same nonsense.
    Got any ideas?

i have downloaded OS X Yosemite using recovery from boot but while installing error occuring showing unable to extract essential.pkg so can't install. problem is i have already formatted my drive and dont have any os right now. only the downloaded new os x yosemite in the os x base system. please help

Please try again after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
    Step 1
    Reset your computer’s PRAM.
    Step 2
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
    Step 3
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups.
    Step 4
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested.

    Hi!
    What you did is correct,
To install odbc you just have to copy the files inside instantclient-odbc-windows.x64-11.2.0.3.0.zip to C:\OracleClient64 as you already did.
When you run odbc_install.exe it popup a cmd prompt for very short period of time. It´s fine.
What it does is to create the values you saw in the registry, an thats why if you run it a second time it said that already exist. With that, you have installed odbc, now you can test it following this link:
    http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/8.0/projects_and_teams/connect_to_oracle_via_odbc.html
    Hope it helps

  • New Macbook  Blue Screen problem.. Help.

I have a problem with my mac. Whenever I turn it on, it loads up as usual, and then it shows a gray screen with an apple, loading, (yeah, the usual stuff). THEN, all of a sudden, there would be a light blue screen that would stay for about 3 seconds, then a darker blue screen, then it would load to my background and load successfully.
I don't like the blue screens. I did not have this problem before... whats up with this? I need help removing it!
I think it started when I created a partition on Boot Camp for windows. I was so frustrated I even deleted that partition, hoping the blue screen would go away. Nope, it did not. Does anyone have a solution?

Here's an answer for you, plus a coupla questions:
Answer: Live with it, it's normal for the Leopard startup process. Remember the startup screen under Tiger with the progress bar? Apple ditched it with Leopard because (on newer, faster Macs) the boot time is much shorter overall.
    Coupla Questions:
You repartitioned your HD to use BootCamp. See whether your HD is the same size it was before you tried BootCamp. If not, try resizing it back to full size using Disk Utility with your Install DVD. Any help?
Have you considered backing up your stuff to a DVD, and then re-installing Leopard from the DVD, to restore to factory-fresh settings?
There's one more thing you might try to relieve the boredom every time you start up: enjoy Verbose Mode! See this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492
There is actually a way to make your Mac boot in Verbose Mode all the time. But it's kinda geeky.
The real solution though, is not bothering to restart your new MacBrick, er, Book. Apple has perfected (IMHO) sleep technology on these machines, so why bother? Even a power loss while a Mac is asleep isn't a problem:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1757
(Oh how I love those KnowledgeBase thingys . . .)
So consider not restarting unless absolutely necessary, hmm?
