I am a rookie with Iphone. Please help me in deciding wither should I jailbreak my Iphone 3G or not..?
Please tell me what is the up's and down's of doing it..?

I strongly suggest you don't do it. Once done Apple will not repair. The only advantage I can see is that you are able to use or download apps from other sources.
In the light of all the problems Apple are having with some of their products at the moment i would sit tight and not jailbreak it. I dare say you will get other advice from other people on this issue and ultimately it's down to you. Personaly i believe that Apple will sort out all these problems very soon.

Jailbroken phones can not be discussed here.
It's highly likely that it is now bricked. The jailbreak most likely did permanent damage. There are lots of reports of previously jailbroken/hacked phones that become unusable when attempting to apply a legitimate unlock.

Jailbreak voids your warranty. You surrender all support from Apple and from this forum.
It also tends to brick your phone and recovery to factory efalt is not guaranteed.

Apple refuses to support jailbroken devices because it it a violation of terms of use of the product.
Jaibroken devices tend to shutdown randomly, fail to start, etc.
This forum cannot help you, by TermsOfUse, with "jailbreak" except to say "Do not do it".

Resuscitate a jailbreak iphone to original state

i pushed the button "reset all contents & settings" on my jailbreaken iphone 1st Gen, .... i wanted to clean my iphone & reset to before jailbreake ....

How to un-jailbreak iphone

Hi everyone, I would like to un-jailbreak my iphone but am unsure of a few things. I have an original 8gb iphone which was bought on ebay with software version 1.1.2.
1.How do i un-jailbreak my iphone
2.Will it wipe out all my photos and music
3.I beleive it is unlocked as well, by un-jailbreaking it, will it lock it back to 02 if so will i still be able to use my 02 payg sim card.
4.Will i be able to upgrade my software version and will i be able to purchase apps from the apps store still using my payg sim.

Thanks for the speedy replies.Sorry if I sound a little dim, but how do you backup the iphone as ive never done anything like this before and don't wont to break it.Also ive read in other forums that if you restore from backup you will copy over all the jailbreak software back again which I don't wont.If that is the case how can I save my contacts & photos to my PC.I have since found out that it is a UK iphone which would have been locked to 02 'contract' at the time, I am using a 02 payg sim...will it still work.I know im going on a bit but I need to make sure I do this right as im not very technically minded.All I wont is a clean iphone that i can update,buy apps but not loose any of my precious photos and contacts.

I am sure that the jailbreaking is partly responsible for slow reactivitiy of the phone, and as I am not very technical, I would simply like to put it back like it was and use iTunes normally.

Can be risky. Depending on how your phone was jailbroken, you may NEVER be able to install a stock iOS back on the phone, and any attempt to do so could render your phone a brick. Apple warns about this. If that happens, you won't get any support here or from Apple, you'll have to use Google.

Issues with Airtel + iPhone 4

Hi,
I have a couple of queries for fellow members...
* I often get a error "could not activate cellular data services" even on a non-jailbreaked iPhone, any idea why this happens?
* As soon as I switch on 3G services, the signals drop and most of the times I don't get 3G speeds or even connectivity even when it shows full signals and 3G symbol...
* Has anyone managed to activate WiFi Hotspot on iOS 4.3 on Airtel India? I have factory unlocked phone - not-yet-jailbreaked - any solutions?

Its the same over here in Bangalore too. I have been on Airtel's neck from past 2 weeks and now seriously thinking of moving to any other provider. Below is the timline for issues on my phone.
Before Airtel's 3G Launch, no issues whatso ever..none at all.
After Airtel's 3G Launch, very frequent data packet drops for both 3G and 2G network.
I forced the airtel team to remove me from 3G network and put me onto 2G, still the issue remains.
Finally, i get a call from one of their Brainy Tech team and he acknoweledge, that Airtel is upgrading their towers to do better job for 3G networks and that's creating issues for 2G network too.
For now, just keep putting the pressure on them to resolve the issue much like i am doing..or

The question is How to View iPhone Screen on Laptop (PC) screen? It is not a jailbreak Iphone. I know there is an opp to hook it up to desktop computer screen via HDMI, but will I get the same result plugging Iphone into laptop via HDMI?

What's wrong my iPhone 4? (See picture)

Here's a picture of it: It was used on T Mobile with a Gevey. The slider doesn't say slide to unlock, it says slide for emergency calls only. I have an activated AT&T SIM card since my wife has an activated 3GS with them and I have a microSIM cutter and adapter so will this help? I've tried restoring and I always get an error message. I have the latest version of iTunes with Windows XP. It'll be helpful if I could fix it and still use Gevey.

Jailbreaking iPhones voids your warranty with Apple, and you also forfeit your ability to get any help from Apple, including from this forum.
You'll have to go elsewhere for help.

Bluetooth issues with car with iOS 8.0.2 and iPhone 5

I am still experiencing issues with connection my phone to my brand new car, after updating to iOS8, and now iOS 8.0.2.
I can connect to the bluetooth, but this gives me a phantom call, my car keeps telling me that an incoming call is inbound. I cannot receive or make any phonecalls, I have only access to my contacts list.
I have tried to remove my car on my devices list, changed the name of the phone, changed the password. Did a reset of the phone.
Deleted all network connections on the phone, and reset the phone completely. And also restarted my car.
Still the same issues.
I did not have any issues with iOS7. And my car is a brand new Mazda 3 2014, with the latest firmware to the car. So i know for sure this is the iOS 8's fault.

after avoiding the hassle with the troubled IOS 8, IOS 8.0.1, i upgraded to 8.0.2. which I believed to be bugless, the iPhone 5 didn't function in my car (2014 model) anymore. It had worked flawless with IOS 7....
I'f got phantom calls, freezing the cars display and blocking the radio, in the second the bluetooth connection to the phone is established.
incoming calls go to the phone and at the cars system is nothing to hear.
Active calls from the car remain silent, even on the car display it looks like there is a connection, only the music is switched off.
Hopefully Apple staff is reading here and will change this situation soon.
Why is the possibility to officially downgrade to IOS 7.1.2 canceled by Apple ??

When you get your new phone, connect it to iTunes to activate. Do not restore from the backup of your jailbroken phone when given the option of setting up as new or restoring from backup. Select setup as a "new" phone. You must also have an activated sim in the phone.

I keep getting error message 1 after trying to restore my non-jailbreaked iPhone 4 after trying to upgrading it to IOS 5. The phone only displays a picture of the iTunes logo and a USB cable. I have tried everything I could find on the internet such as holding the homebutton while connecting the phone to iTunes, restarting the computer, switching computers, restore with another cable, take out the simcard etc. It works fine until the verry end, that's when I get the message. Please help!

Try downloading the 3rd party application called "Tiny Umbrella". While it isn't a software distributed by Apple it will be able to kick your iPhone out of the boot loop.

Internal error message on my iphone

Good evening everybody,
I have a big problem on my iphone. Currently I saw two type of message on my screen :
- in french translated in english "internal error : the internal temperature of your iphone get over the maximal temperature threshold, put off it or put it in a fridge"
- in english "Internal error. The function block A1 returned the message : "L.O.L.", please contact a specialist
I am a little bit afraid about some virus, but I have no response ?

Solved. It was a friend's joke. He sent me some message in network notification form with a jailbreak iphone...
