Jan. Update.. No zoom out on Maps?
Simple, however very frustration question: is there no way to zoom out on the maps? Also, when I type in an address, it cannot find it. Is there a special input method to finding specific places? and also is there any way to input names of businesses to find them in a certian city? I might have missed something along the way but I'm having trouble with these issues.
1) you zoom out the same way you zoom in and out from pictures and webpages
2) adresses should usually be something like "street, city, state" or "street, city, country" ... though google maps takes quite a lot of formats. make sure not to abbreviate street with "str.", I found that to cause problems sometimes.
3) just move/zoom the map to get the map-section of the area where you want to find a buisness in (so for example your home city). then type in the buisness name. pins will pop down for every search result.

When displaying a Google map I get about four vertical strips that alternately display good and in gray bands. The gray area displays the message "we are sorry, but we don't have maps at this zoom level for this region." Zooming out doesn't get rid of the gray areas.
I've had this problem for over a year and get around it by using either MS Internet Explorer or Google Chrome which work Ok. Otherwise Firefox works fine and I use it for everything else except Google Maps.
I've tried an uninstall of FireFox and then reinstall but it didn't help. I don't remember what I was doing when this problem first showed up.You're welcome

Ok, I may be brain dead tonight...I know if you tap...tap it will zoom in, how do you zoom out?
Found it:
Zoom out Pinch the map. Or tap the map with two fingers.
Tap with two fingers again to zoom out further. -
N8 Anna update zoom out not working in mails
prior to the Anna update, i could zoom out the view for all the mails received in N8 (ive set up gmail account). I use this particularly to view in full page mode for big images in html mails.
But after the Anna update, i cannot zoom out the default view, i can just zoom in.
In short, for the big images in the mail body, i cannot see the full image at once, ive to scroll up down, left right to see the whole thing.
Can this be fixed (other than using Opera) ???Well well I just went through my settings ones again, and Opera just doesn't work as primary browser.

Sometimes the grass just always seems greener on the other side of the fence, but believe me there are a lot of interesting options on the way.
I have had my N8 for 1 year, and after some huge search not found another device doing the same thing. But I´m involved in outdoor activities and some remote/hostile operating environment. Ok yes there is one phone that has better antenna/receiver coverage and that's N9. This is just my experience. -

Minefield update this morning killed the zoom-out feature.
Just installed Minefield alpha yesterday and love it! This morning, I was prompted to install an update, so I did.
Now -- the zoom-out feature is missing! This is what I love about Minefield, so something went terribly wrong. How can I get it back?

In Firefox 4.0 you get an orange Firefox button if the menu bar is hidden.
Go to Customize > [[X] Menu Bar to make the menu bar visible or press F10. -
Mapviewer view zoomed out within BI report
Hello,
I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with a mapviewer map within a BI report showing the map zoomed way out. This map is a FL state map with the cities within the states marked. The geometry theme "FL_CITIES" preview fine on the MapBuilder.jar client application.
However, when rendering the map in OBI report, Mapview just shows a grey screen. When I click on the map, then a small map of FL displays, but it is zoomed out.
I tried to update the mapZoom to a different number on
mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
but there is no change in rendering of the map.
Has anyone else encountered this behavior? I'm on 10.1.3.3. I've cut and pasted the showMap() function:

Bug? Zooming out via key shortcut won't stop when zooming out (Mac OS 10.7.3)
Hey,
while I created a new document, I started to zoom in/out particular areas of the images using the key shortkuts <space>+<cmd> for zooming in and <space>+<cmd>+<alt> for zooming out of an area.
While this works fine in my Photoshop CS5, it troubbles in CS6:
Once I want to zoom out (via <space>+<cmd>+<alt> and a left-mouseclick), the zooming won't stop until it reached the smallest zoom level, instead of zooming out just a step. It however works, while I zoom in (via <space>+<cmd> and a left-mouseclick).
I'm so used to this shortcut since a cupple of versions now (it also works in other programms as well) and it is realy annoying.
It also happens that when I press <space> and another key (e.g. to zoom in/out) that Photoshop CS6 does sometimes not release the hand-tool, that I use to move the canvas via holing <space> and left-mouse down. Pressing <space> again solve this. However, I would exspect the hand-/move-tool only to work while <space> is pressed.

No, works fine. Although its not the best alternative, because my method allows to "specify" the zooming region (due to the mouse position)

I tried both: enabled it causes the mentioned "error" behavior. Disabled the zoom out stops but its remarkably unresponsive: Once I use the key combination and click the left-mouse-btn it takes seconds before the zoom out happes; the process _feels_ quite long.

Make table of contents links keep current zoom level, not zoom out to full page
When Indesign creates tables of contents, they automatically link to the paragraphs the links point to, so that in an interactive PDF, clicks and prods take the user to that page. Great.
What's not so great is, that the hyperlinks / cross-references / jump-links / whatever that are created behind the scenes within the table of contents appear to:
...be automatically set to reset the zoom to full page width
...not be editable in any way
Normal cross references retain the zoom level that the user has chosen, and normal hyperlinks that point to a page in the document have a range of settings about what zoom level change (if any) should be imposed on the user, which can be set to 'inherit zoom'.
How do I set up a table of contents that doesn't annoy users by resetting their chosen zoom level to an artitrary default when they use the interactive table of contents?
I'm really hoping I don't have to ditch Indesign's table of contents feature and create every cross reference manually.(editted) So it turns out that you can 'expand' a table of contents by copying and pasting it - this fills the hyperlinks panel with links that can be editted (like above) but breaks the auto-update - they're no longer a TOC, they're just a text frame full of links. (I had got different copies mixed up when I thought the frame holding the editable links was also auto-updating)
The greying out of the links was a red herring, just something to do with the fact they were on a master page.
It does mean that one possible TOC workflow is:
Create a TOC on the pasteboard somewhere.
Before finalising the document, update this TOC and alt-drag the 'live' TOC creating an editable 'dead' copy in an appropriate place in the document
Edit the link properties of the links in the 'dead' copy (don't forget that you can select multiple hyperlinks at once by holding down shift, and edit things like the Zoom Setting all at once with Hyperlink Options in the Hyperlinks flyout menu. )
Then, if you make other changes to the document later on, delete the dead copy, update and re-copy the live original, and re-do the changes to the new copy
This isn't a bad method - it just adds about a minute's work each time you export a PDF (delete, update TOC, alt-drag, shift-select the new batch of .XXXX links at the bottom of the Hyperlinks panel, > Hyperlink Options, Zoom Setting > Inherit Zoom, done).
Alternatively, you could manually build a TOC using cross-references if you want links to the exact position on the page, not just the top of the appropriate page. -
X220 Ultra Nav Touch Pad 'zoom out' doesn't work
I can zoom in just fine, but can't zoom out. How to do this? Also, sometimes the 'zoom in' happens spontaneously when I am using one finger on the touch pad to move the cursor. How to fix this? Thanks!!

What happened to zoom in and zoom out selection, so you could make the screen zoom in and out?
I added zoom in and zoom out to my yahoo toolbar and from one of the sites that let you pick buttons to add to your toolbar, and now it has disappeared. And I can not find zoom anywhere. Have you heard of this happening before? If so do you have a resolution for this? Thanks in advance. Dan

Mkmapview on zoom in or zoom out consumes lot of memory

In my application i am using mkmapview as the main view and showing images (around 75 images) on the map by annotation.
on zoom in or zoom out mapview consumes lot of memory and after some time it recives memory warning then application gets crash.
any suggestion for that.

And please place a small wait inside your loop, there is no reason it should spin that fast. (Since the data never changes in your example, the entire graph terminal and inner loops belong outside the main while loop. However, I assume that your real application is different )
NOTE: you could also use the "first run?" primitive or enable it when [i]=0, but in this case you would need a small sequence structure to ensure it happens after ther graph terminal is written for the first time.
Also note that xy graphs take complex data, simplifying the wiring and data structures.

IPad screen zoomed in and won't zoom out
My first gen iPad screen is zoomed in and I can't get it to zoom out. I have restarted, reset and done all I can think of short of doing a restore.
Can I restore without doing the update? I don't mind doing a restore I just don't want to do the upgrade.
ThanksDouble-tap the screen with three fingers to switch off the zoom function, then disable it from Settings > General > Accessibility.

Agreed theoretically. But in practise, Apple should review itself:
1. why the Help has been so useless! (There is certainly a "Save as", only after you click on the Duplicate...)
2. why there is no Change List to announce ahead or during beta about the changes and wipe outs (such as dumping the Reminders from Mail!)

Zoom/zoom-out of D800 NEF hangs Aperture

Just got the D800 yesterday and have imported the first images to Aperture 3.2.3
Import went fairly quick.
BUT - when I zoom in on an image - and then zooms out again, the LOADING message appears and nothing more happens.
When I right-click on the Aperture icon, there is a "program is not responding" message :-(
I tried to export an image to tiff - and that went fine. Also tried to import the tiff back into Aperture - and zoom/zoom-out works fine, even though this file is 240MB, whereas the NEF files is 37MB's.
My machine is a Mac Mini i5, 8GB mem. All software updates are installed.
Any ideas??

The images were not edited prior to the zoom- zoom-out operation.
I made some additional tests:
Before Starting Aperture:
Free Mem 2,30GB
Inactive Mem 2,78
After Starting Aperture:
Free Mem 1,37GB
Inactive Mem 2,81
Zooming in:
Free Mem 923MB
Inactive Mem 2,81
Aperture hangs - and its memory consumption says 1,37GB CPU 199,3%

The only thing that brings Aperture back to life, is to kill the program.
I was using 14 bit depth NEF's lossless compression. Tried to change that to 12bit lossless. Makes no difference!
