Japanese characters in SMARTFORMS using S010 (Standard Texts)

Hi gurus,
Im trying to print a standard texts maintained in S010 using SMARTFORMS. When i preview these texts in S010 it looks fine but when i use it in SMARTFORMS (Using include text) it gets overlapped.
Is there a length requirement/limitation for the standard texts that can be used in SMARTFORMS? Because i noticed that there is a certain length in which the Japanese characters overlapped.
Thanks in advance
Andre

Hi Chenna,
My window is wide enough to accomodate the texts. I tried adding non Japanese characters on the same row. The Japanese characters are still overlapping but the non Japan texts were displayed correctly and long.

Andre

  • Unable to print chinese characters in Smartforms use Zebra printer

    Hi,all.
My printer is Zebra ZM400 300dpi,I created a new output device 'TestDevice' and use the Lzeb3 Device type.
In my smartofrms i used the Zebra command to rotated text. Now the smartforms counld not print chinese characters but '#' instead.(style font 'ANDALE_S')
    Anyone could help me....
    Thanks Advance.
    Andy Lee.

    Hello Andy,
If you use the device type LZEBU3 with font ANDALE_S, then when you print then the SAP system
send a print control for activating the ANDALE font installed on the printer, and the text should
    be outputed over this font.
When you get # during print then this means that the device type or the SAP font don't support
this character(this was the original problem), when you get a "space" then this means that the
font which is used by the printer don't support this character.
I think this can have 2 causes in your case:
    1. The SAP system use the print control SF000 when you use ANDALE_S, which contains
the print control ^CI17^F8 in HEX form. This should activate the ANDALE font on your printer.
    (You can find this under tr. SE73 -> Printer Fonts -> LZEBU3 -> ANDALE_S)
You should check wheter this is the correct print control. You should find on the printer an option
which list you all installed fonts, and also the print control which can be used for activating it.
Compare this print control from the printer with the above print control from the SAP system.
If you see a differnce then change the print control in the SAP system.(Before you do that please
copy the device type LZEBU3 into customer namespace, don't change the original SAP device type)
    2. The font installed on the printer don't support the character which you use. Contact Zebra to confirm this, and ask for a ANDALE font which supports the character.
    Best regards,
    Norbert

  • How to use standard text?

    hi experts,
i have created a standard text in so01. now i want to use it in my smartform. can anyone help me, plz give the procedure to use that standard text in my form.
thanks in advance for ur responce.

    Hi
You cannot use two type to the same text .
Either you have to use TYPE as INCLUDE TEXT for standard text
or TEXT ELEMENT for normal text
One thing you can do if u want to print HI WELCOME together
Then you write both things in different text and print it .
Hope this make some sense to u.

  • How to use Standard text in SAP SCRIPTS

    Hi all,
Please tell me how can we use the standard text what we have created in SO10 with sap scripts.

    Hi Gaurav
You can create standard texts using the transaction SO10. Then to insert these standard texts in the SAPScript choose the menu, Insert->Text->Standard and choose the standard text that you want to choose.
Alternatively, you can display standard texts in your SAP Scripts using the command:
INCLUDE ZSTEXT OBJECT TEXT ID ST LANGUAGE EN
where ZSTEXT refers to the Standard Text name.

  • If condition in standard text in so10

    Hi,
Im using a standard text where ive written an IF condition but its not working.Im calling that text in my program using READ_TEXT, TEXT_CONTROL_REPLACE and TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE function modules.Im not using sapscript or smartform. All my dynamic variables are working fine but for my IF condition what is happening is IF statement is also true and ELSEIF is also true. The statement under if is also getting printed and statement under elseif is also getting printed.
    Could anyone help please.
    Regards,
    Nidhi.

Standard text " if conditions "  dont work other than scripts and smartforms.
to my surprise, if conditions have not worked even when I used them as includes in ADOBE forms.
Please handle the conditions in your program itself.

    Hi ,
Im using the standard text in smart forms, but Im getting the output displayed as hexadecimal numbers. These are the hexa characters stored in the "SO10" transaction for the standard text name.
I try to display a signature stored in standard text.
But when used in SAP scripts I get the content displayed correctly.
Can someone help me to display the content in smart forms as such.

  • Difference jb/w text symblosin script and standard text in scripts

    hi to all
can u pols explain about the
difference b/w text symblos in script and standard text in scripts

    hi
Default paragraph Paragraph set to * in <b>standard text</b> maintenance
If no form has been assigned to a text, the system automatically assigns the form SYSTEM, which contains minimal definitions for text formatting. There are two ways of formatting texts using forms: • Use the <b>standard text</b> maintenance to enter and print the text.
Any kind of text can be included in a form. If no object is specified, then TEXT will be used (<b>standard texts</b>).
    <b>
    Text Symbols</b>
Text symbols acquire their values as a result of explicit assignment. To interactively assign text symbols, in the text editor choose Include &#61614; Symbols &#61614; Text. This method is available for all text symbols belonging to a text module as well as those of the associated form. Values defined in this way are lost when the transaction is left. If you want to print the text module again, then you must enter the symbol values again. The purpose of the DEFINE command is to provide a means of making this value assignment a permanent part of the text, so that the values are available again when the text module is called again. This command can also be used to re-assign a new value to a text symbol half-way through the text. Syntax: /: DEFINE &symbol_name& = 'value'
/: DEFINE &subject& = 'Your letter of 7/3/95' The value assigned can have a maximal length of 60 characters. It may itself contain other symbols. A symbol contained within the value assigned to another symbol is not replaced with its own value at the point at which the DEFINE command is executed. Rather, this replacement is made when the symbol defined in the DEFINE command is called in the text.
/: DEFINE &symbol1& = 'mail' /: DEFINE &symbol2& = 'SAP&symbol1&' /: DEFINE &symbol1& = 'script' &symbol2& -> SAPscript If, however, the DEFINE command is written using the ':=' character rather than the '=' character, then any symbol contained within the value being assigned is replaced immediately with its current value. The assignment to the target symbol is made only after all symbols in the value string are replaced with their values. The total length of the value string may not exceed 80 characters. The target symbol must be a text symbol, as before.
    /: DEFINE &symbol1& = 'mail' /: DEFINE &symbol2& := 'SAP&symbol1&' /: DEFINE &symbol1& = 'script' &symbol2& -> SAPmail
    Inserting <b>Text Symbols</b>
    Procedure
    Inserting a Text Symbol
    1. Choose Insert &#8594; Symbols &#8594; Text.
    2. Place the cursor on the desired text symbol.
    3. Choose Choose.
    4. The system inserts the text symbol.
Editing the Value of a Text Symbol
    1. Choose Insert &#8594; Symbols &#8594; Text.
    2. Choose Edit value bearbeiten. The dialog window Value definition for symbol <text symbol> appears.
    3. Enter the appropriate value definition.
    4. Choose Continue. In the dialog window Text symbols the specified value appears after the name of the text symbol.
    5. Choose Continue.
    Deleting all Text Symbol Values
    1. Choose Insert &#8594; Symbols &#8594; Text.
    2. Choose Delete all values. The system deletes all defined values.
    3. Choose Continue.
Using Formatting Options for Text Symbols
    1. Choose Insert &#8594; Symbols &#8594; Text.
    2. Choose Options. The dialog window Formatting options for <text symbol> appears.
    3. Fill in the fields.
    4. Choose Continue.
    5. Choose Continue. The system executes the selected formatting option.

  • Standard Text Key printing on Job Ticket Shop Paper

    Hi,
I have set up using transaction CA10 a series of Standard Text Keys containing approx 500 characters.
I am using the Standard Text Key on a Service Order but when I am printing the Service Order the first 40 characters are only being printed.
We have a requirement to print out on the Service Order the Standard Text Key and all of the text and not the first 40 characters.

    Hello,
One suggestion would be to have a programmer check the SAPScript form that calls the standard text to make sure the formatting is not restricting the length of the text that is being printed.

  • Problem printing Special Characters in Smartform

    Hi,
I am developing a Smartform for Position Description. For that I have to display data from table HRT1002 as the data in this table is stored using Text Editor the data internally is stored in '#' when there is a enter, space or some special Characters. While displaying this data I have used class CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES -->HORIZONTAL_TAB to make '#' to it original value in my internal table.
After using the Class the data has been converted into the correct format, but while printing few special characters like ", ' , .. etc are been printed as # where as in my internal table they are not in # format.  How can I change the # to it original Character while printing.
    Regards,
    Ramu N.

In Text Element, click Txt editor icon on the left side in General attributes. Then in the menu Include->Characters->Displayable Characters and then select the characters.
To display Special characters in Smartforms ...

in the text editor, Click INSERT - Characters - Displayable Characters.
a new window will open showing all characters...if ur required character is not

  • Defaulting Standard Text into Vendor Text

    Hello,
We have been asked if we can add functionality similar to the S010 standard texts in R/3, so that a SRM user can select from a list of standard texts. The text would default into the Vendor Text on the Shopping Cart, the user would be able to amend the text if required.
Does anyone know if this is achievable? I assume it would have to be done via a BADI?
    Thank you.
    Kind Regards,
    Jackie Jones

    Hello Jackie,
Use text schema to achieve your request: you can define fixed values for texts.
In SRM 7.0 release, it is in IMG:
SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Text Schema
I think path is the same for lower releases.
If you use fixed values, this means vendor text coming from your catalog has to make part of your fixed values.
    Regards.
    Laurent.
