Japanese to english

I got a japanese model of MD101 that comes with eng/Jap keyboard.
i formatted the laptop to just try if i can use all keys as english.
but some keys are working still as japanese.
for example @ ( at the rate key) is working at next to p.
is there any solution so i can change the pattern of keyboard.
or it is saved in the motherboard as default?
as i tried to change language preferences.

The JIS keyboard, even with layout set to US, always has @  next to p.  To change this you would have to remap the keys.  Some options are
+make a custom layout with http://scripts.sil.org/ukelele
+remap keys with https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/
+create a substitution in system prefs/keyboard/text/symbol and text substitution
In the first two options, you must make the changes with the keyboard type set to JIS (not ANSI or ISO).

  • RoboHelp X3 Japanese with English UI - where to obtain

    I need to buy a version of RoboHelp X3 Japanese with English
    User Interface. I used to own this product, but we traded it on a
    Simplified Chinese version maybe around 2003 when the company was
    eHelp. Currently, Adobe no longer sells or supports the Asian
    editions. XLSoft sells RoboHelp X3 Japanese with a Japanese user
    interface, but I really need the English UI. Does anyone know of a
    source for RoboHelp X3 Japanese with English User Interface?

    Have you checked
    this link?
    I've no idea if is the English or Japanese interface they are
    selling as I have fallen asleep the afternoon they taught us
    Japanese at school.

  • Japanese and English together in database table?

    Hi all, on to my next challenge... ;-)
    I'm wondering if there are any issues with database tables that contain both Japanese and English (Roman) characters. I'm in the process of establishing an online language-learning site that will target (mostly) customers in Japan. As part of the registration process, I need to collect names in kanji (Japanese characters) along with other information in roman script (email, username, password, etc.).
    Right now I have these fields set to utf8_unicode_ci collation. Is this correct? Am I confusing character set with collation? I doubt very many of you have experience in this area, but if you do I'd love to hear from you.
    David

    Hi,
    I don´t know if my answer is of help in your particular situation -- however, I once made a CMS with ADDT where form pages had to contain both english & russian input fields, I succeeded having them display the respective chars differently this way:
    1. setting the page´s "content-type" to UTF-8
    2. no need to apply something to the "english" aka roman form fields, but...
    3. adding the following bold stuff to the "value" of a russian field, example for PHP:
    " size="100" maxlength="240" />
    I actually didn´t define any "collation" for the MySQL database, so I can´t say something about that.

  • Global Address Cleanse Transform - (Japanese To English conversion)

    Hi All,
    Is there way I can provide the input to Global Address Cleanse  Transaformation (Japan Engine) in uniocde (Japanese - KANA ) and get the output in english like provide input LOCALITY1 as 高島市 but get the output in english like  "Takashima City".
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Data Services XI 12.1 Technical Manuals, Designer Guide, Data Quality, Page. 555:
    Caution:
    The USA Regulatory Address Cleanse Transform does not accept Unicode
    data. If an input record has characters outside the Latin1 code page
    (character value is greater than 255), the USA Regulatory Address Cleanse
    transform will not process that data. Instead, the input record is sent to the
    corresponding standardized output field without any processing. No other
    output fields (component, for example) will be populated for that record. If
    your Unicode database has valid U.S. addresses from the Latin1 character
    set, this transform processes as usual.

  • Acrobat 8 Auto Translate to Japanese from English Web Page

    Every time I try to create a printed page and save as a PDF the PDF distiller creates a Webpage that is half english (the HTML portion) and the Form data is published ine Japanese. Does anyone know how to correct this issue. This is a particular issue since I try to all payment confirmations from any purchase webpage to my showing payments made and confirmed. Hell I do not even have Japanese fonts installed on my machine? I would love to show examples but the info has private information on it. Any clues?

    Hello,
    >> I want to change language of my applixcation from english to Chinees and Chinees to english.
    The APEX environment natively supports two Chinese languages/dialects: Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Did you install the one match your needs, as described in the following?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21673/otn_install.htm#BEHJICEB
    >> ¿¿¿ ¿¿¿
    This sign typically appears when the database character set doesn’t support the language you are trying to store in it. Is your database character set supports Chinese?
    A bit more information on your APEX environment – versions of both APEX and database, Web server etc., can also help understand your situation.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • OT: Typing in Japanese and English

    I'm thinking of buying a laptop or netbook for a friend who
    speaks
    English and Spanish and is studying Japanese. So, pardon the
    dumb
    question, but how do you type Japanese on a computer?
    Obviously, the computers I buy are set up for English, while
    computers
    sold in Japan are set up for Japanese. But can one install
    Japanese
    fonts on an "English" computer? And could one then buy a
    Japanese
    keyboard? And where does one obtain Japanese fonts and
    keyboards?
    Realistically, I'd probably be purchasing a Linux netbook,
    though I'd
    spring for another Mac if I inherit some money. :)
    Thanks.

    Wow, that's interesting. QWERTY simply refers to a "normal"
    keyboard,
    right? In other words, the Japanese learn to associate
    particular
    Japanese characters with the keys A, B and so on?
    And Kanji and Kana are Japanese dialects? I went into System
    Preferences
    > International > Input Menu and found "Japanese Kana
    palette" near the
    very top. I checked Kana and unchecked U.S. English, but I'm
    still
    typing English characters. But I'll figure that one out.
    In your estimation, would a Japanese keyboard still be a nice
    gift for a
    student who's just learning Japanese? Would it have some
    educational
    value, or would it only hinder them in learning the normal
    way of typing
    Japanese on a QWERTY keyboard?
    Thanks.

  • Japanese and English across whole site

    Hello, I wish to be able to use English and Japanese on pages in my site.  Is there a way to add code such that this is possible universally throughout my site?

    No, CSS is for styling only. You will need a serverside script to change the language, have a look here http://ncca.com.au/new/ and click the Australian and Dutch flags for the two languages.
    In the above example, I have used WebAssist's Framework Builder as per http://www.webassist.com/dreamweaver-extensions/framework-builder/, but you can achieve a similar result by using conditional statements together with session variables..
    For instance if you have an About page, this would look like (using PHP)
    <?php
    session_id('lang');
    session_start();
    $_SESSION['lang'] = 'en';    //set language variable change to nl to see the difference
    ?>
    <!doctype html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>About us</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <?php if ($_SESSION['lang'] == 'en') { ?>

  • How I managed to make Photoshop go from Japanese to English, finally.

    I have installed the CS3 suite on two computers, home office and office office. On first attempt, the latter installed with Photoshop and Illustrator turning (up in) Japanese. Slightly magic, since I have studied that language a little earlier out of curiosity and I am a kind of 'fan' so it could be a hint to pick those studies up again - no? Nevertheless I will not be good enough in a long while if ever to actually use an app in that language ;). Also, AE could not locate a bunch of its plugins on every startup; very annoying. Various attempts at de-install and re-installments did not work, and Adobe telephone support (Nordic) just put me on everlasting hold (and "send a fax" which was never answered). I recently changed disk and of course re-installed Windows (XP PRO SP3), and installed CS3 suite as the first apps. Photoshop and Illustrator opened ... in Japanese! From previous experiences I've learned that chipset drivers and even graphic card drivers could mess up such issues. On my home office computer CS3 worked fine, and both computers use nForce chipsets... Even more hair pulling ahead? The solution:
    I 'fooled' my computer into thinking it was in the US with a US layout keyboard. Re-installed CS3 suite, checked that the offending apps now opened in ... english, changed back to my actual local settings and checked again. For now at least, everything is fine.
    I did not need to do this on my home office computers which has XP Home, but it is a thing to consider. This is a US product made and tested by US developers on computers using US settings, so by taking that identity for a while, perhaps some installation problems can be solved. Good luck to everyone!

    Hello mikromidas, I have a similar problem, my computer is running on a japanese windows XP, all the english applications I have installed come up in English, but After effects keeps coming up in Japanese. I think I need to "fool" my computer just as you did, but I don't know where to start.... could you please tell me in more detail how to "fool" the computer? thanks a lot!

  • My iphone talks to my husbands blackberrry in Japanese, not english! help

    My I phone e mails , written in english, show up in my husbands blackberry in japanese. all calendar items too. funny...but challenging

    Sounds like it's an issue with his Blackberry.
    Try resetting your iPhone with both the home + power button, turning it back on, and changing your language settings to something else, then back to your normal language.
    Have him try the same, but oviously however his blackberry needs to do that...
    OR tell him to get off the blackberry and get an iPhone hehe.
