Japenese charc not prinitng while downloading ALV to excel

hI - I am dowaloading an ALV report to Excel file .
But that ALV contains japenese charactres so after downloading to excel . it got converted to cryptic/garbage characters . Please advice

The Japanese characters should also be available in the excel.
You can change the default language in microsoft office to Japanese and then try again.
Or you may have to import a japanese font into your fonts folder of your windows..

Dump in prodcution server while downloading ALV report to excel sheet

HI ALL,
ALV report is working fine in bother DEV and PROD servers....but in production while downloading report to excel sheet it is going to dump.
"dump is below:

Field symbol has not yet been assigned.
What happened?
    Error in the ABAP Application Program
    The current ABAP program "SAPLKKBL" had to be terminated because it has
    come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed. "
But in development this problem is not there, iam able to download ALV report to EXCEL sheet.
Any help experts......

I had the same problem,
Run a consistency check for your ALV and you will find out. See if you havent passed any unnecessary parameter to FM.

Facing problem while downloading ALV grid Output into Excel

Hi Guys,
I am facing problem while downloading ALV grid Output into Excel.
It is downloading into excel, but all character columns first and next all quantity columns it is displaying. But I need columns order as it is in the grid.
If I take all columns as characters it works fine. But it will be problem for calculating total, subtotals of quantity columns
Can someone help me regarding this

Hi,
Open up Excel on your desktop. Goto Tools > Macro > Security.
Make sure that your security is set to Medium (or less). SAP uses OLE automation to run the Excel instance and in Office 2003 (for example), Microsoft has increased their default security setting to High. With the High setting, the output to Excel fails.
Was this your problem? Don't forget those points, either.
check with this wetther it is solved or not.

The status bar not going while download the app.
I'm bought the bento from App Store, I finished the payment, but the status bar appeared but doesn't show any progress. Strange!!

I dont want to Display the popup, I want to Display in Status Bar as a Error Message.
Like this .
If I put message type 'E' its Displaying popup message , MESSAGE ' Duplicate Condition Types Are Not Possible.' TYPE 'E'.
If I Put messge type 'I' its Displaying in Status Bar .

Downloading ALV to EXCEL - in some fields the last character is missing ...

I am experiencing this kind of problem when downloading ALV report into Excel :-
"You are downloading an ALV result to an EXCEL file. In some fields the last character is missing."
For example, if MATNR is 0000234567 in display but after downloading to excel it becomes only 23456.
I found another related forum thread : Pronlem while downloading ALV grid to excel
I tried the suggested method to apply OSS note 1075315. However, the note cannot be implemented in the system. I am working in a ECC6 environment (SAP version 700, 701).
Kindly please help me if you came across the similar kind of issue. Thanks much.

The link thread that you just gave already provided the answer, in your field catalog you need to activate field lzero.
1. Check FM : REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
2. Import Parameter tab :IT_FIELDCAT
3. Double click SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV
4. On type group SLIS, check line 93

Downloading ALV to excel file

   i am trying to download ALV to excel file.
   but as the alv contains many fields,
   the row in the excel is automatically wrapped to the
   next row ..
   what i want is the row in excel should come as it is
   in the ALV (whole thing in one line) and should not wrap to next row

Avoid splitting of columns ALV report while download output to Excel sheet

Hi friends,
I have 170 columns in my ALV report
while downloading the report to Excel sheet
the column descriptions and values are splitting in two lines.
How can i avoid the problem.
before calling REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY function module in my code
for the Layout i assigned LS_LAYOUT-MAX_SIZE = 1023.
but still the problem is not solved.
Please help me in this Issue.

or dont want to change any code in ALV report
by simply assigning some value to any of the export parameter in ALV function module
can we achieve the functionality

Error while downloading ALV grid o/p list into local file

Hello friends,
   I have developed an ALV report and desplaying it using
'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, function module .While downloading the output list into excel format I am geeting an error "The current statement only supports character-type data objects.
Error Analysis-
In statement
   "STRLEN( obj )..."
the argument "obj" can only take a character-type data object.
In this case, the operand "obj" has the non-character type "P".
I have set the import parameter i_save values as 'A'
But still not able to download and facing the same error.
Please help me out ....

This information initial value is (maybe) stored in Windows Register (register.exe) at Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Filetransfer -> PathDownload, you can read it thru class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES method GET_UPLOAD_DOWNLOAD_PATH and update it thru method REGISTRY_SET_VALUE. (Else there may be some parameter ID to force data, but I'm no longer sure)

Pronlem while downloading ALV grid to excel

My ALV report is working fine, but problem is that when i am downloading it to excel some data is missing from some coloum
like MATNR is 0000234567 in display but after downloading to excel it comes only 23456
last digit is missing in all the rows of matnr after downloading.

- First perform [the Consistency Check|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/EN/d6/23253963143e6ae10000000a11402f/frameset.htm] of your ALV, even if the display is fine (use shift+double click right on a free surface of the ALV)

Problem while downloading ALV GRID Output to Local Spreadsheet(Excel) File.

I am displaying output in ALV GRID. While downloading the output to Excel file using "Local File" option provided by ALV.
But while downloading the columns and their respective values are coming in single column vertially of excel file instead of horizontal.
e.g. Grid output is as follows.

Also, if your problem still persist, please refer SAP's demo code on ALV "BCALV_FULLSCREEN_DEMO".
There are many sample codes available, what you need to do is just go to SE38 and put BCALV* and do F4.

Error while downloading data into excel file.

Hi,
    I have a requirement to download data available in xstring to excel file.
I have a RFC which has export parameter 'file_data' of type xstring. When i call RFC
from web dynpro abap application it gives data out pout in xstring format.
I am opening excel file using that xstring data as below
cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response(
i_filename = 'file.xls'
i_content = ls_data_source-data_source   ***[xstring data from RFC]
i_mime_type = 'x-excel/application'
i_in_new_window = abap_true ).
But excel file not coming in correct format. its giving an error while download
excel file
Error is
      " the file you are trying to open , 'file[1].xls', is in a different format than
specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from
a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? "
If i click on 'YES' button file opening but not in proper excel format. Data is coming
in tab delimiter format in excel file.
Please suggest any solution for this problem.

Download ALV into excel file

Hi experts,
I used subtotals in ALV.first three columns I claculated based on the addition of individual column.In fourth column i calculated the value based on three calculated values ...It is not problem.
when i download this into excel file the original value is only coming .the calculated value i.e) calculated based on three values didnt get displayed in excel file..Help me please...

I find that
List > Export > Spreadsheet
gives no subtotals, but
List > Export > Local File and then Spreadsheet
does give subtotals.
I find that
Views > Microsoft Excel
followed by
Save As
does give subtotals.

Error while downloading output in excel format using FM Gui_download

Hello All,

While downloading the necessary output of a Ztransaction in excel format the excel file only shows one 1 record whereas in the output there were 88 records.
When I am downloading it in other formats like Rich text etc. the data is getting downloaded correctly as per the output.
Now this problem is occuring in Production & Quality whereas in Development the excel file is downloading data correctly.
I have compared the code in the different clients as well as debugged it but the code is the same in each case.
There is no data corruption in the final internal table as well.
So what else can be done?....
The data needs to be downloaded as it is in the output in the excel format.
Kindly give me some suggestion and help me out in this regard.
