Japense language getting displayed in master data not in query

Hi all,
I am trying to load the asset master from ecc and bw which both are unicode. But then the master data gets loaded perfectly with japanese in the master with
   asset   language   description
1. 300001   en           加硫
2. 300002   ja           加硫
i can see some data is loaded with en and some with ja both are loaded in master data perfectly.
but then in the query if i want to display 30002 it is not getting displayed
can anyone help me on this

Hi,
What language you are selecting while logging into the query designer?
Select the language as JA and then check if you can get the required result.

All Master data not displaying

Hi all;
I am tring to create Hierarchy for some values for one master data object.
Here is the issue:
If I go to the RSD1 > 0costcenter > maintain master data > If I execute with maxm hits I get let's say 200 records for that master data But If I enter some value which is there in the master data instead of the execution it's not displaying anything.
Same thing I am trying to create Hier for those cost centers but in the hier maintaince window when I enter that costcenter it does not display anything...and I check in Maintain Master data for 0costcenter those value are there when i execute all but don't see again if I give that particular value and execute.
Any reason...

I checked that table and all the entries are version 'A' and I also saw there the ones that are not coming while creating hier are active as well. I also checked tcode RSATTR and there is nothing left for change run., this is production env,. and we do change run every night after the process chain.

Master data values in Query

Hello,
i want to restrict division by certain value in a query. i cannot see one of such values in the restriction window in the available list of values.
i checked master records for division and it has this value. the infoprovider may not have this value.
in the 0division infoobject the settings in the business explorer tab are:
Query Def. Filter Value Selection: M Values in master data table.
Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn:M Values in master data table.
Why can't i see the value in the query for restriction?

Hi Aby,
Have you tried clicking on the "display other values" button right before the find text box in the restriction window (the one with the small yellow arrow)? If not, then click on tht button and put in some restriction rule to cut down on the number of entries displayed. This should display the value you desire.
In addtion to that uncheck 'only values from InfoProvider'

Query on 0TCT_MC01 to get the last used date of a query

Dear All,
I tried to create a query on 0TCT_MC01 to get the last used date of a query.
Since we do not have readily available key figure for Last used date, could any one help me out to achieve this result?
I am interested to find the old queries which are not being used anymore.

You can get the info from the below tables
if you are working with BW 3.5 you can look in table RSDDSTAT in BI 7.0 it is RSDDSTAT_OLAP.
Make a selction on the infocube and the OLAP Statistic Object which is the query ID and execute. Then you should see how often the query was executed, by whom and which date/time.
in field Statistics Object Name Query ID you type in the tech name of the query
from the Counter for statistics event calls -- will give the count... no of times the query used least the count lesser the query is used.

Report to display material master data changes

Hi,
Is there a standard report available to display all changes to material master data over a specified time frame i.e all changes made alst week,all chnages made today.
Please suggest.

Hi!
Appart from MM04, you can also have a look at MM03 or MM02:
1. Goto MM02 or MM03 transactions and enter the material.
2. Select the relevant views for which you want to have the details.
In the Bar menu follow the path Environment -> Display changes.
Here you will get the list of changes done to the fields with Old and
New values.
Appart from these two tools, there is not any other report provided in the standard for this target.

Master data not present in the reporting cube

Dear Experts,
There is a scenario in report design for me.
I have already created the Bex report and all the fields as mentioned are in the sales report.
Client now wants to include two more fields in the report.
One is the keyfig " Net value" which is present in the sales cube and i have already included in the report
and another field which is master data 0profit_center is not present in the cube.
Any ideas how can i include this 0profit center data so that i can display in the report?
As far as i understand, I need to include this master data in the sales Infocube which is being used for reporting.
But i am pondering upon the impact on the system because of this.
Now i have checked the BI system and the ECC table. In VBRP table of ECC, the profit center is present.
But when i see in BI the profit center is not being loaded from ECC but from flat file source system.
So i am confused how to go forward.
Can anyone suggest me what should be my approach?

You didn't understand what we suggested.
Rather than checking 0profit_ctr master data, you need to find the info objects(which are part of your cube) which have master data. in those 0profit_ctr can be a attribute. if yes then navigation settings will work.
if not then you can add 0profit_ctr to info cube and user master data look up thru routine or option read from master data(bw 7.3).
Other wise, directly add 0profit_ctr to your flat file data source(and cube) and maintain data thru flat file.
To look up your cube and 0pfirt_ctr need to have relations with another info objects other wise not possible.

Adding new attribute to Master data - Not present in ECC

Hi,
We want to add a new field in the master data object 0plant. the new field is not present in the R/3 side. So we are planning to maintain it manually.
Is it feasible? Can someone explain how to approach the situation?
Since it is not going to come in Process chain or any of the mappings below InfoObject will the process chains work properly?

if you cant impliment any logic you cam maintani it mannually.
First add attribute to master data object and activate.
Do master data load if required.
Then right click on materdata addtribute and manage -> content tab -> Content
display complete data and you can maintain attribute values individually for all ercords one by one (will be pain even for 100 records).
another alternative is of doing file upload for this attribute.

Extraction of certain master data not working

Hi, we are on BI7 and some of the BC masterdata extractions are not working correctly. Some masterdata working fine, consequently communication between systems working, but some master data fields e.g. 0co_area, 0chrt_accts and more are not working fine. Get this on 3.x and new datasources.
The data does get pulled through but the upload just never goes green, and keeps running. If one look at the batch jobs (SM37) in the appropriate source system, it keeps on going until it is manually stopped.
I am only experiencing this problem with data pulled through from the production system - I am pulling it through to my testing and production box, but fails in both, where all other ECC systems are fine.
In the monitor there is a warning and the following is the details of the monitor:
Overall status: Missing Messages or warnings
   Requests (messages): Everything OK (green)       Data request arranged (green)
       Confirmed with: OK (green)
   Extraction (messages): Missing messages (yellow)
       Data request received (green)
       Data selection scheduled (green)
       Missing message: Number of sent records (yellow)
       Missing message: Selection completed (yellow)
   Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Missing messages or warnings (yellow)
       Request IDoc: Application document posted (green)
       Info IDoc 1 : Application document posted (green)

Thanks, for the responses. The appropriate Idocs work fine with transaction BD87. I looked in SM58 earlier during the course of the day and there was no error, just checked again (8PM) and found some entries with error texts for BW background user - 6 errors within 10 seconds. Something to do with 'ERROR REQU... PG# IN 1' - do not have authorisation at this moment to check the specific requests, but not sure if the master data extractions would have caused these.
In the job log for the problematic jobs, only 1 IDoc get created, unlike the other succesful ones that have 3 IDocs (not sure if this means anything)

Language error while loading master data source for text

Hi,
We are getting the following error while loading the data in 0DISTR_CHAN_TEXT data source.
"Error during multibyte alignment for language D (position 2)".
Can we filter the data on the Language ( ='EN'). At the data source level LANGU field is marked for selection but still it is not available as filter at info package level.

Hey Vishal,
If the field is marked for Selection at data source level, then it must be available for selection in infopackage.
Try checking in RSA3 and see if it is available for selection over there. Let us know what was the output in R/3.

When I run the above it comes back correctly. However when I add "MILESTONE" (Characteristic setting (Posted Values) to the Query Definition immediately after the "Milestone Type" and before CSR it does not work it just is hanging for a considerable time.
I am not using "Master Data" for the "Access Type for Result Vales" for the additional characteristic "MILESTONE" just "Posted Values".
I was expecting that it would just show all Milestone types as per Master Data but just the Milestones that are posted for this result.
I would appreciate a solution to this issue and an explanation to why it hangs when I add the "MILESTONE" characteristic to the definition as explained above.

Putting Milestone in the rows in the query definition is not being hang there (i.e., while creating and saving the query) right?
It is stucked while executing the query isn't it so?
That's because you have too many records to be desaggregated by milestone characteristic, and this is indepently of posted values in the characteristic settings.
Putting milestone characteristic in the free characteristics will allow you to run the query, but desaggregate it (add it to the rows) will be to much information to read from your dataprovider (this is just a guess).
If it is being stucked in query execution whike milestone is in the rows. Try this for example:
Add milestone to the free chars. Execute the query. Filter milestone characteristic while still in the free rows and choose a value that you are pretty sure has the smallest records in the Dataprovider (could be for example value #). Than drill down milestone to the rows. You'll see that it can be executed without any problem.

You can use custom validation program (Z*) by copying standard validation (RGGBR000) program.
Modify the validation program to check table vendor master data.
After that, you need to assign this custom validation program to GBLR application area in GCX2.

Creating Aggregate--Master data not showing:

In a Cube, following this instruction I get the table below:
Goto rsa1>Infocube>manage>select the Infocube>Click contents>select tab "field selection for output">selectall>execute>execute.

I have already verified and both Sales Region and Sales Office have the master data but browsing the cube gives the above figure, showing Sales Region and Sales Office as blank in the first column and 0 in the second.
The master data for all these characteristics are already active
a) What can I do to fill the Sales Region and Sales Office columns, because that may be the solution to this problem in b) below
b) I have added three infoobjects to a new aggregate that I have created. Any reason why for Sales Rep, Sales Region and Sales Office, maintaining master indicates that they all have master data; and each of these InfoObjects has been activated, but while creating the aggregate, attempts to assign Fixed Value to each of these IOs works only for Sales Rep. i.e. only Sales Rep showed the master data. Why are the other two IOs not showing their master data?
What do I need to do to see the master data of these 2 infoobjects in the Aggregate maintenance screen, just like the Sales Rep infoobject?

Thanks for the hints, it looks like we are up to something.
Under the InfoSource tree, I selected the InfoSource on which the Cube is based. Under this InfoSource, I selected Communication Structure, right-click on blank space in InfoObject column, then selected Choose Possible entries, then selected Sales Office, and later used the option Choose in the context menu to populate the row with the details. Same was repeated for the Sales Region.
Under the Transfer Structure/Transfer Rules, the same process was used to insert the Sales Office and Sales Region in the Transfer Structure and Transfer rules tabs. i.e. the field to InfoObject mapping was maintained in the transfer rules.
There was a RED X, but after I selected Propose Transfer Rules, the RED X went away.
Result of above active:
I thought I was good to go but still on checking at the Aggregate Maintenance options, the values for these two Infoobjects were not available.
Now back to the Cube: Under the Cube, on the InfoSource beneath it, I right click and choose Update Transfer Rules but got a message that
due to changes in other objects, this update rule was set to inactive
Do you want to reactivate?
I chose Yes but got an error:
IC=IC_D IS=IS_D error when checking the update rules
It is basically stopping me from reactivating the Update Rules, so what is the work around up to this point?

Loading getting stuck to master data infoobject

I am loading data to a matplant master data infoobject ,its taking hell lot of time in loading.....infact its getting stuck at a point .I am not sure what can be possible issues.
though I put some filters on plant then it loaded for some plants ,but still in some plants its getting stuck.
Actually there are some field enhancements done and and extraction code for those enhanced fields are written in R/3 side.

1) First go to SM58....check if any TRFC is stucked......then press F6 to push them....
2) After pushing also if the load does'nt proceed.......then check for Shortdumps in ST22......
also check the jog log >> copy the request nimber >> go to the source system >> SM37 >> give the request no (BI as prefix) >> check the job log........if you find Sysfail.....that means short dump......
Then cancel the job if it is active.........make the QM status red and repeat the load.......
3) Also check the system performance........if there is any locks or deadlocks in ST04...........also check SM21......

Hello,
I have to implement a web application which provides a upload functionality for documents (images) of master data. Therefore exists a FM RSOD_MAST_CHANGE and this seems to be no problem to implement.
My problem now is to find a FM which provides the functionality to display these uploaded documents of specific master data characteristic.
Has anyone implemented such a functionality, too? Is there such a FM?

Master Data not being uploaded to Info Object

Hi all,
I'm trying to upload some master data in to an Info Object with attributes. When I trigger the DTP, the status gets stuck to Yellow and the data is not being uploaded. There are no errors being shown.
The data has reached PSA perfectly. My data source is a flat file.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
There could be various reasons for this. I would have gone through checking it this way.
Activity set 1:
1) Check in SM50 if there is any activity happening.
2) Check in SM37 for any cancelled jobs.
3) Check in SM21 for error logs.
Activity set 2:
1) Cancel the current request.
2) Ensure my transformation (b/w datasource and InfoObject) is active.
3) Try to reduce the data package size and try (say to 100)
4) Run the DTP
Activity set 3:
1) If Activity set 1 and 2 do not help me, I would check by deleting the request in my PSA as well. Take only one record of the flat file which I am sure has no illegal characters and try loading.
2) If successful, this would mean it could be because of the erroneous record in the complete set (It may be taking some time to show up the error and hence the status is still yellow).
3) If unsuccessful, this could be because of some objects which are inactive. And I would start from deleting and recreating the DTP.
Also, do you have any routines in the transformation? If so please recheck the logic.
