Jar file deployment in jdeveloper

JDeveloper 3.1.1.2
I've created a simple class to read from and write to the local environment. This is then used in a webforms application.
If I create a jar file using the command line jar .exe that comes with JDeveloper in the java\bin directory I get the following manifest.mf file:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Name: LocalFileWrapper.class
Digest-Algorithms: SHA MD5
SHA-Digest: l5VvJkUGvBq/k6FV01C8E77N5tw=
MD5-Digest: DXzcwxZUmo/5lx4dBV2bAw==
If I try and deploy directly from JDeveloper I get the following manifest.mf file:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Name: LocalFileWrapper.class
Java-Bean: True
Is there anyway to get JDeveloper to produce the first manifest.mf file using the deploy mechanism?

  • Can't Execute JAR file deployed from JDev 903

    Hi Everyone:
I took the Oracle beginning Java class, and got a copy of JDeveloper 9, and started in on a project. The task was to create a small module that will allow users with no direct SQL access to change their Oracle passwords. The good news is that it runs great from within JDev; it catches exceptions cleanly, it handles multiple databases with no problems. The bad news is that I cannot get it to run from a batch file or command line (client is Windows). I have run 'setvars', I have copied the CLASSPATH from the run window in JDev, all to no avail.
I am trying to deploy the app as an executable jar file. It's not meant to be an applet, because of the security implications.
I would gladly RTFM, but the FM's that I have gloss over the deployment step in Jdev. I figure it's something obvious, but I just cannot figure it out.
    Any suggestions? Help a newbie...
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
I suggest you take a look at the log window of JDev, when you've successfully run your project.
If the log window is not displayed, go to View | Log.
Cut the command line, invoking javaw.exe, and paste it into your favorite editor.
Change javaw.exe into java.exe, save your file as a bat file, go in a DOS console, and run the bat file.
Let me know if it fixes your problem.
    Thanks,
    - Olivier

  • Jar file Deployment

We have made changes to one of the jar beans. Is there a way that I can deploy the jar file alone and let the application (jsp pages) see the changes? Typically we deploy using either JDeveloper or Oracle Application Server Web Interface.
To test, we copied the jar file in the WEB-INF directory but that did not help. Even bouncing the OC4J container did not help.
    Any suggestions are welcome.

  • Jar files with oracle jdeveloper

Hi, wondering where in jdeveloper do you go and select where to link to .jar files?
    thanks

I've observed this problem with certain AV tools. Some fare much better than others (inside Oracle, we use Symantec AV and I see very little slowdown even when it's scanning jar files in jdev's install directory).
You didn't mention which version of jdeveloper you're using. Assuming 10.1.3 preview, the directories to exclude from scanning would be either the whole of your jdev install directory, or if you must be more selective, something like:
    %JDEVHOME%/jlib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/ide/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/extensions
    %JDEVHOME%/lib
Would be a good start. These directories contain the bulk of the jars loaded at IDE startup.
    Thanks,

  • JAR files deployed to EBS server a not loaded by server

    Dear All,
We deployed JAR files to Apache(Jserver) of EBS server, we put jar files to $OA_JAVA and added content of jar file names into jserv.properties, then we re-started the Apache(Jserver), but the JAR files are not loaded by server, we checked the properties file and the path of JAR files are both OK, what may cause this kind of issue?
Currently, we are working on the Accounts Payables interface, which need to call java scripts to upload the log file to Google drive, and we need to include some Google java files in the class path, so these java files are third party's, how to config these java files under Oracle?
    Thanks,

  • Webcenter Portal large Site with Jar Files Deployment/Configuration

    Hi,
I have a large WCS portal to deploy comprising of many "applications" from different groups.
Ideally we want to deploy it as a .ear file, containing menus, templates, preferences, and some other common structures.
We want to deliver each application as a .jar File. What is the best way to do it?
Can we build menus pointing to a Taskflow .jar files without incorporating the .jar in the application?
    Thanks a lot,
    Joao,

Thanks a lot Daniel for you prompt answer.
Do you think I can use in the default-navigation-model.xml structures like
taskflow://WEB-INF/test/testTF.xml#testTF in URL field, without adding the adf.jar to the project.
My ideia is to deploy the lib, but do not add it to the project, in order to allow decoupled development.
    Thanks,

  • Extract BPEL process from the JAR file deployed to BPEL Server

    Hello All-
We have a BPEL process deployed in our production environment but unfortunately we do not have a back-up copy in our test environment.
I got the BPEL deployment JAR file from the production server but I am unable to extract the BPEL Process as well as the XSL file.
I used WINRAR to extract but it was showing that the JAR file is not a valid archive. We need the prod deployed version of the XSL as well as the BPEL process for a change and we are unable to proceed.
If anybody has faced similar kind of issue, please let me know how can it be resolved. Also please let me know if there are any tools which can extract the files.
PLease note that we are on BPEL 10.1.2.0.2
Appreciate your help and thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Dibya

    Hi Dibya
jar -xvf <filename> will work as others said.
However, please make sure you have another TEST/DEV Environment running in par with PROD.
Always, suggested to test first on the TEST/DEV Env for applying any new patches/config changes...then appropriately migrate to actual PROD Environments.
Also, always take a complete backup before you do some R&D on the SOA server.

  • Package jar files with the jdeveloper extension

I have some dependent 3rd party jar files that needs to go with the extension. How can I package it with the extension?

    DJ,
If you're still using 11.1.1.5 (or any version of 11gR1) place the third party libraries into a directory in your project, and reference them via the classpath entry in the extension.xml file.
If you are looking at how you can distribute them with your extension, but not put them inside the extensions .jar file, then put them read this blog post about how to bundle your extension for distribution.
    http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevextensions/entry/working_with_jdeveloper_update_centers_and_bundlexml
If you are adding external libraries to an extension in 11gR2, there is a blog post about that:

  • External jar file deployment issue

    Dear Experts,
I have one external jar :  tc_sec_https.jar  to be used in my dc.
Hence I have created an external library dc and included this jar in the library . I have also created one dc of type j2ee server component where I have used the public parts of the external  library dc at build time. Finally I have deployed the j2ee type dc.
But when I log into visual admin I dont find the jars deployed on the server.
I have followed all the steps of the tutorial :
" External Library Deployment and Usage in SAP NWDS" by Saurabh Agarwal.
Could u please guide why I am not able to find the jar on the server while I log through visual admin ??
    Regards,
    Mamai.

Why do you deploy jar which is already on the server?
    \usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE_NUMBER>\j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\security.class\tc_sec_https.jar
Just set reference to the library in your application-j2ee-engine.xml:

  • Jdeveloper dependency on ANT script for .JAR file for ADF Application

    Hi all,
We need to create a .jar file for an ADF project consist of Model & viewcontroller. We are able to create jar file with help OjDeploy in my ANT script.
My query: Ojdeploy uses internally jdeveloper home to complete the task. After going through the generated script, we came to know about below two references:
    1.     oracle.jdeveloper.ant.library = ${jdeveloperHome}\\ jdeveloper\\jdev\\/lib/ant-jdeveloper.jar
    2.     oracle.jdeveloper.ojdeploy.path = ${jdeveloperHome}\\jdeveloper\\jdev\\bin\\ojdeploy.exe
Is there any way to remove above dependencies so that we can create .jar file without installing Jdeveloper on a machine ?
    regards,
    Mohit

    ojdeploy requires a JDeveloper installation.
Without going into the debate as to whether this is "good" or not, that's the way it works, I personally don't have a problem with installing JDeveloper on a build box (after all, you do have to install other software on the build box, too).
If you don't want to install JDeveloper, you can hand-roll your own ANT scripts which is good for racking up the billable hours, but not so good at maintainability.

  • Import a BPM project .jar file in jedevloper

    Hi,
Can we import a BPM .jar file in jdeveloper, to regenrate the underlying code. this jar is having the BPM and SOA code.
<< the actual case is to import the deployed BPM .jar file project in jdeveloper. >>
    thanks,
    rps

You can unjar the file in your machine so that you have the source code.
Create a new BPM Application (make sure you name the project & process similar to what you have in the JAR).
After that copy & replace the unjared contents into the folder under <applicationName>/<projectName> except for <projectName>.jpr (since this is not in the jar).
try opening it from Jdev .. I could compile using a similar approach and open the BPM process too.
You would need to deploy and test the functionality to be sure that this works.

  • Can't create a true ADF Libray JAR FIle

I created a Model project. Then created an ADF Library JAR File Deployment Project to deploy the jar to the file system.
I then, created a separate project and tried to add the export jar file to it via a File System connection in the Resource Palette.
But, when I right click on the jar file in the Resource Palette, I only see 2 options, "Open" and "Advanced Search".
I expected to have an option to add the jar to the selected project.
Now, I am able to add the jar to the Project if I go to the projects properites, then add the jar via the "Libraries and Classpath".
Note that even the icon for the jar is different than those from other System Jar files (the bookshelf/library icon).
The icon I see for my jar is hard to identify, sort of like a torch.
    So, what is going on?
I have double and triple checked that my deployment profile is for an "ADF Library JAR File".
I have deleted the default deployment profile and create a brand new one.
    Still, the same issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

When you say you see the XML files for the EOs & VOs do you mean in the resource palette? Never mind, let's take a step back.
Via the following link this is what you should see for a Model project ADF Library JAR that contains EO/VOs etc:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/pic01.png
If you were to right click on the JAR this is what options you should see:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/pic02.png
I'd suggest you're still doing something wrong when you create the ADF Library JAR. To assist you via this link:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/Model.zip
...you'll find a previous workspace/project I've setup. If you right click on the Model project look to the Deployment options you'll see an ADF Library deployment profile called "Model_Model_adflib". If you exit out of the preferences, right click Deploy -> select Model_Model_adflib, the appropriate ADF Lib JAR will be created under Model/Model/deploy. Returning to JDev and the Resource Palette, add a file system connection to this deploy directory, then you should see what I see above.
Let us know how you go.

  • Make a jar file availlable for all web application at deployement time

    Hi !
Is there a way to make a jar file availlable to all web application included in a .ear file. I know that i can manually copy the jar under (OC4J_HOME)/j2ee/home/lib , but can i create a package that have those web application ( lets say 4 ) and also the common jar file, deploy the that .ear file and make my jar file automatically availlable for all the deployed web application ? or is there a special command that i can use to copy that jar to the (OC4J_HOME)/j2ee/home/lib while deploying the .ear file ?
i tried adding a manifest file with the classpath option but this seem to work only with jsp...
    thanx for your audience...

Open the file %J2EE_HOME%/applcation-deployments/your-app/orion-application.xml. Add a tag like the one below:
    <library path="location_of_my_library.jar" />
This will make the JAR availible to only your application, and the modules within it, and no others.

  • Error in deploying .jar file from JDeveloper 10.1.3.5

    Hello,
I want to deploy .jar file in a machine, instead of having to install JDeveloper to run the application (it contains: Web Services and Data Base).
I have followed the following steps in JDeveloper to create the .jar file:
    1) Right click over the project: New... --> General (All Technologies option selected) --> Deployment Profiles --> JAR File
    2) I have selected "Include Manifest File" option specifying the application's main class
    3) In JAR Deployment Profile Properties window: File Groups --> Project Output --> Contributors are selected: "Project Output Directory" and "Project Dependencies"
    4) With the previous steps, JDeveloper generates a .deploy file. It is created in Resources folder. From this folder, I have selected the .deploy file and right click and I have selected "Deploy to JAR file"
The .jar is created succesfully. In this point, I try to execute with the command:
    java -jar NAME_OF_THE_DIRECTORY_WHERE_THE FILEIS_DEPLOYED\NameFile.jar
and I have the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.<init><AccountClient.java>
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.main<init><AccountClient.java>
    The Manifest File content is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.AccountClient
I have tested with differents variables to create the .jar file, but always the error is the same. And I haven't found information to solve it. For this reason, I appreciate any help.
    Thank you and regards.

If you are just building a client that access a Web service you need a JAR and not a WAR.
    Ok!
One thing to try is look at the command line that JDeveloper uses to run your client (it's in the log window) - specifically look at the classpath used.
Then try and run the same thing from a command line and see if it works.
Nowadays, the application is running with a .BAT file, it contains the statement released from the JDeveloper console, and it is working perfectlly.
I try to do the same from a command line, and it works too.
Assuming it is - you can either use that, or you'll need to make sure that your JAR includes all the mentioned jars that were in the class path - this is done through the library type file group.
To create the .JAR file I have choosen the following options (JAR Deployment Profile Properties):
    1) Include Manifest File --> I have selected the class that contains the main class (from the Browse option)
    2) I left the default File Groups (Project Output) --> it has: Project Output Directory + Project Dependencies
    3) As you said me, I have created a new File Group (type: Libraries) --> and here, I have selected all the possible Contributors. These match those specified in the project (Oracle XML Parser v2, J2EE, JAX-RPC Client, Commons Logging 1.0.3, Ojdbc14.jar).
    4) Deployment to JAR File successfully.
    The resulting MANIFEST.MF is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.Execution
It hasn't definied "Class-Path", althought to especified a new File Group with the libraries... Is it an error?
If I extract the .JAR file, I see all libraries, and I have two folders: one with .class files of my project and other one is META-INF with MANIFEST.MF file.
    5) From command line I executed:
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdk\bin > java -jar C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\deploy\NameFile.jar
And the result is an error:
Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
I think the error is because it can not find the library ServiceFactory, but it is especified inside JAX-RPC Client library. What is wrong?
*6)* I have tried too to insert in "JAR Deployment Profile Properties" (in JAR options) an additional Manifest File to merge into MANIFEST.MF, to include "Class-Path" with all libraries's project (the same JAR from the statement released from the JDeveloper console), but I think that it is a limit, because if I insert all libraries the "Class-Path" doesn't inserted in MANIFEST.MF. The maxim is:
    Class-Path: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xmlparserv2.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xml.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\activation.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\ejb.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jms.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jta.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\mail.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\servlet.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\jaxrpc-api.jar
The following libraries afther the previous one aren't allowed to include because I think that is exceeding the maximum size.
I have tested to create various MANIFEST.MF with different PATHs libraries, but it isn't work to include in the MANIFEST.MF file all libraries...
    (C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\wsclient.jar

With this .MF file (or including only "C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes") I have solved the other problem (not found the libraries), but it still not working, the error is a little different:
Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: project/proxy/Execution
The path where the main class is: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution.class
I have tried to insert directlly the following paths in "Main Class" option of "Include Manifest File":
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution
    C:\\jdevstudio10135\\jdev\\mywork\\project\\project\\classes\\project\\proxy\\Execution
And with these values, the error is the same: Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I am not sure if the error is a bug of JDeveloper 10.1.3.5 or it is something that I don't correctly. Any idea?
    Thank you again and regards.
