Java 1.6 won't install on 10.5.6 and can't download limewire

I am having a problem downloading limewire on this macbook which i bought second hand. When i try to download limewire it tells me that i need Java 1.6, which i have downloaded and when i try to extract it it gives me an error message that says that it needs 64 bit? Does anyone know how I can do this. It seems a little ridiculous to have the most current software and not be able to download limewire. I have a power book G4, an IMAC and another MACBOOK all with Leopard and i have had no problems.
My 16 year old is dying without her Limewire!

Download and install these in order:

If unable, then download and install the 10.5.6 COMBO update, repair permissions, restart, and try installing the Java updates.

That was the next step.
I just needed to know what the OS of the PC was and the version of Palm desktop so I could tell you where to look for the correct folders.
Here is some more info. for you.
Click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.

There are links on the page to the user guide, troubleshooting, how to's, downloads, etc.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

Anytime you want to look for something on the Adobe site, just do a Google search and add "site:adobe.com" (without the quotes) at the end of the string of keywords, for instance, this what to type in Google to find the CS5 downloads:

Just change "CS5" for whatever version you want.
Using the Adobe web site search function is futile.

You've checked the name and address on your iTunes account and it's in exactly the same format (including spacing and layout) as the credit card that you are trying to use is registered to ? And the card was issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are ?

Apple's rules for their app store do not allow programs such as Firefox to be run on their iOS devices. We do have a tool to allow access to your Firefox Sync bookmarks and history on your iOS device.

You know, I've not installed Java EE for a while--but the last time I did, I think you may have to have had a JRE installed. But I would not guarentee that, since the first thing I do when I get a machine up is to install the most current JDK and JRE.
In your situation, it sounds more like your installer may be corrupt.

Hi Pat,
After your last email I decided to continue to trouble shoot the problem and finally found the answer from another user. Oddly enough when using Firefox it will default to a location on your computer to save downloads. If it encounters a problem it doesn't identify it, the program just "loops" back to the start of the download sequence. Once I changed the folder that the downloads are sent to the original way of upgrading occurred without fault.
I will go back into the discussion group and credit you with the answer because I really appreciate your assistance.

Can't sign into Adobe cloud desktop app and can't download apps to install.

I was able to download the Adobe Cloud app to my desktop, but it won't let me sign in, every time I try it tells me I've been signed out. I have uninstalled and re-installed it over and over again. I believe this leads to the other problem I am having whic is that I can't download any of the apps when I click on an app to download it nothing happens, at the very bottom left of the browser window I see the following:-

Installed 2 new network printers and can't see old network printer

I installed an Hp2055dn(wired) and an HP Officejet 6000 e609n(wireless) this week for a group of classrooms to share in an elementary school. They work perfectly. My problem seems to be that another printer, HP 2600n(wired), has disappeared from the network and can't be seen by any computers on the wireless network. It still can print from our wired computer lab though. I'm assuming there must be a conflict somewhere but am at a loss to start to figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds as though you may not have gotten Aperture updated to version 2.1.4, which is required to work in Snow Leopard. There are numerous topics about updating to 2.1.4 after attempting to run an earlier version in SL Read some of those:

Having updated to 2.1.4 while running Leopard, and before Upgrading to Snow Leopard, I cannot provide a clear path to what to purge in order to get the update done in SL, if you find all is correct regarding the location of the application, etc. Removing Aperture and installing again, but running Software Update before ever launching Aperture may work, and downloading the current trial version (which is 2.1.4) and then applying the Serial number of the package you bought will also work.

In iTunes on your computer, go to Store > Authorize This Computer from iTunes' menu. Have your dad (or you, if you know it) enter his Apple ID and password. Then sync again.
