Java 3D - web page down?

Hi all - we use the followng link within our Java applet to pull down the latest Java 3D files, but as of this morning, the link has been dead.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has something changed, and we are not aware of it?
This is causing major operational issues and appreciate any assistance.

No - I have called USA and UK support to report it.
USA support confirmed the issue, but UK support said it was working. But at my oplace in the UK, it is not working, but from one of our guys in the USA, it is working. So it seems to be some kinds of intermittant DNS issue.
Can I suggest as many people as possible call Oracle support to report this issue (make sure they aren't using internal DNS to check it!).

The above is an objective from Edexcel's Higher National Diploma syllabus for the unit Java Programming.
Another part of the syllabus, referring to this, talks about Javascript. Having contacted Edexcel and pointed out that Java and Javascript are different, I was told "oops we meant Java".
Has anybody any idea what they might be expecting because I can't get them to answer any more queries.

Either way, if they got it mixed up then that is course you want to stay well away from.
Java in web page = JSP or JSF, 2 examples.

Is there any way to completely avoid HTML for Web pages? can Java be used entirely for sites?

(X)HTML cannot be completely avoided, this is the only one markup language which the web browser can interpret to display websites. If you want to avoid writing plain vanilla HTML and scriptlets and want more interaction with Java, consider a MVC framework like JSF or Struts.

CWCS web page down

My CWCS web page went down. I don't think its a DNS problem. I can do a NSlookup and it works.

Web pages down load at snail speed

So, after years of dreaming about it I finally get to spend nearly $1400 on a new MacBook.
I got her home, set her up careful as heck to follow instructions, no problems, everything is going ok and I'm up and running.
However, it doesn't take long to realize that I'm still down loading webpages at snail speeds.
I mean basic pages off the Apple website tutorial take well over a minute to down load.
What a let down after years of dreaming I'd finally get a responsive computer.
We have a Qwest DSL modem up and running in our house so I imaged something faster.
Any suggestions on what to trouble shoot for?
Any help would be appreciated.

As an experiment, try using different DNS servers. OpenDNS.org is one source:

Firefox on Linux crashes when loading java script web page while running on Windows works fine

Hello all,
well in my effort in writting php I frequently use phpanywhere.com
The site loads successfully in both Windows and Linux setup (fully up-dated). However, when I press on .php file so to begin editing the Linux installed Firefox crashes and closes down every time (also when using different preference under JacaScript menu). Windows setup seems to have no problem at all.
This has been checked in three different PC with Ubuntu Maveric installed on them. In all these cases Firefox crashes.
Any possible ideas on that one?

I have the same problem. I've never been able to identify when it started. Once firefox crashes, mpd, if it was playing, becomes unresponsive. The only way to get a flash site working again is to reboot my computer.
I uninstalled flash: I'm not going to put up with that kind of behaviour. Now I watch youtube videos on other people's computers --you know how they say "You've GOT to see this movie!". And if I really need to see that one specific video, there's youtube-dl.
Unfortunately gnash doesn't work on youtube for me.

How to create a web page

Could somebody explain me what exactly to do, making my own web page in java?
I mean,I know how to make a class and an applet. However, I don't know what should I have inside the class.

Web pages aren't realy made in Java. Web pages are designed in HTML. Java generally plays two roles, one is in Applets, which are Java programs that run inside web pages. The other is servers that handle dynamic web pages, especially forms and pages that display dynamically generated data displays.
You can write an HTML file and display it on your browser straight from a file, but there's not much point until you put it on a server for a larger audience. To see what HTML looks like, use "view source" on any web page.

When I load Safari on my IPAD2, the web page comes up, but I can't scroll down the page. No matter what web page I go to the content stays darker than the navigation bar. This just started today. All other applications work fine.

If it's happening on all sites, then assuming that it's Safari that you're using, have you tried clearing it's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (other browsers should have similar options, possibly within the actual app instead of within Settings). You could also try closing the app completely : from the home screen double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app (or whichever browser you're using) to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it's only happening on a particular site then there may be content on that site that isn't supported on the iPad e.g. flash, java, silverlight

I have php web page and want to call my java classes i.e connect java to php. My java code will read from file some info. then will organize these info. finally, the java will write the organized info. in file, the php will display the content of the file.

Or you can use a simple code in (java/perl/c/what so every u know)

I will explain the scenario:
In our java web page, we are using three text boxes to enter "Part number,Description and Aircraft type". Every time the user no need to enter all these data. The person can enter any combination of data or only one text box. Actually the output data corresponding to this input entries is from five Oracle table. If we are using a single query to take data from all the five tables, the database will hang. So I written a procedure "SEARCH1",this will accept any combination of values (for empty values we need to pass NULL to this procedure) and output data from all the five tables. When I executing this procedure in SQL editor, the execution is very fast and giving exact result. I used "dbms_output.put_line" clause for outputing multiple records in my procedure. The output variables are "Serial No, part Number, Description, Aircraft type,Part No1,Part No2,Part No3,Part No4". I want to use the same procedure "SEARCH1" for outputing data in java web page.The passing argument I can take from the text box provided in java web page. I am using jdbc thin driver to connect our java web page to Oracle 9i database.
Note1 : If any combination of search item not available, in procedure itself I am outputing a message like "Part Number not found". Here I am using four words ("Part" is the first word,"Number" is the second,"Not" s the third, and "found" is the fourth) for outputing this message.Is it necessary to equalise number of words I am using here to the record outputing eight variable?
Our current development work is stopped because of this issue. So any one familier in this field,plese help me to solve our issue by giving the sample code for the same scenario.

Refresh an open web page on closing an applet launch from Java Web Start

I launch an aplication via Java Web Start from a link in a web page. I am looking to a solution to refresh my web page when I close my applet.
Thanks in advance to give me the solution or only to let me know if it's possible or not.

everything's possible. but this is not trivial. there is no direct connection between the html page that launched the app and the app. You can create an indirect connection by having the app notify a server process when it closes and having the page periodically polling the server for the app's status.

Is there a way to automatically have a web page begin to scroll down?

Is there a way -- sort of an "autoplay" sort of way to have a web page begin to slowly scroll down to the bottom like a teleprompter automatically? I know this isn't technically iWeb but the site is created in iWeb and from that basis I'm sure I"ll have to edit the code somehow -- like is done when making autoplay movies and music.

I want to always be able to page down using space bar, but some web pages seem to disable this.

I often use the space bar to page down in web pages rather than scrolling with the mouse or arrow keys, but in the last few months I've encountered a number of pages that don't seem to allow this browser feature to work. For instance, space bar doesn't page down on https://medium.com/about-work/65d4740f7a2f, although it works fine on mozilla.org and nearly all other sites. The problem is specific to particular pages, so I think it's unlikely to be an add-on problem, and it's certainly not that I've turned on caret browsing. As far as I've tested, the arrow keys still work to scroll such pages, and the mouse always works, so it seems as if space bar has been specifically disabled. (Generally the pages on which space doesn't work seem to be specialized for phones, judging by layout and font size.) Is it possible to reject whatever code is disabling my browser so that my space bar always works?

Another possibility would be a userscript. A userscript is generally written to work on a particular site, although it also can be made to work globally on all pages.
To run a userscript, you require either the Greasemonkey extension or the Scriptish extension.
And somebody to write the script! You can propose a new userscript to the community and see whether anyone is willing to create it for you.

Is it an internal or external web page? Does this occur on all web pages? If not, post the URL of one that 404s.
