Java 7 Update 7 and 9 on Mac Lion OS 10.7.4 - Applet printing tiny fonts

As of Java 7, when you go to print from an Applet the fonts are no longer readable (super tiny). A preview of the same on content on the screen is not an issue only show a font issue when you print the contents.
To see this failure in action you can test using this page:
[applet demo|https://www.peernet.com/PEERNETReportsServer3/ademos.htm]
On this page,:
1) press the preview button to show the page to be printed
2) press the 'Print...' button, print to any printer and you see the textual information is just printed as dashes (super tiny font).
Any suggestions on how to correct Java 7 printing from applets.
BTW: Works fine from a full Java application.

  • Java 7 update 17 not  working on Mac os x 10.7.5

    Hi,
I am trying to get my Java working on my mac os x 10.7.5, but everything is saying that the plug-in is inactive, or java applets just continuously load. My java is enabled and up to date, as is my safari. I have read about all this stuff saying apple disabled java then renabled it without telling anyone. What exactly is going on and how can i get java to work?!?! I have tried fiddling with its settings, uninstalling, reinstalling, downloading chrome, etc etc and nothing seems to have any affect. Is there a way of reverting to some old software in either safari, java, or something to make this work as it used to until it decided to not one magical day?
    Thanks in advance,

  • I recently installed Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin, and now can't play any videos from any website in Mozilla, but Google Chrome works.

Cannot play any video from any website in Mozilla after installing Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, I can play videos from Google Chrome and also from Internet Explorer. For example, when I'm trying to play a you tube video in Mozilla, a black screen comes up with following error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later."

  • Updates - iPhoto and iMovie on Mac Pro

I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2, both with iPhoto and iMovie installed. I just bought a MacBook Pro but can't update those apps on the Mac as requested by the laptop system. There is a message to log on a different account, but I just have one account.

  • Java 7 Update 21 and Web Start Install Java Extension problem

    Hi,
We've been running WebStart with Java 7 update 17 for several months. Late last month we updated to Java 7 update 21. Since this update, we're seeing 14 additional dialogs when the application is launched. Dialogs are Install Java Exception, do you want to install the following software? and then lists a jar file. I've verified that all JAR and JNLP files are signed with a trusted CA.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there away to suppress these additional dialogs?
    Thanks,
    Terry

I have just found that the use of uppercase/lowercase has changed in 7U21.
We have been running with the codebase notation like this: codebase="http://SERVER:port/folder/file.jnlp" since Java 1.4.2
In 7U21 I get a dialog pr. jar.
If I change to: codebase="http://server:port/folder/file.jnlp " the dialogs are not shown.

  • Unable to update iPhoto and iMovie since Mountain Lion and Mavericks

It has been over a year since it happens, I was hoping it could be solved after i updated to the new mavericks system..
"This update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID. Sign in with that Apple ID and try again. "
It has not been bothering me since the mountain lion, because although iphoto can't be updated, I was still able to use them and save all my photos.
Now after the new system update, iPhoto can not be opened unless it is updated
I do not want to lose all my pictures and videos that i have been saving there for over more than a year.

It means what it says: The apps were bought or installed by someone with a different ID to yours. So, in effect, these are belong to that person and you can't update them.
This can arise if you've bought a second hand machine, or if you've bought an open box machine, or even if the Mac was set up for you by the shop where you bought it. Or, if you used one Apple ID to set up the machine and are using a different one now. Of course, it can also be caused by installing pirated software.
    So, what to do:
Where did you get the machine? If it was second hand, or open box then you need to get back to the vendor.
If you used a different Apple ID then sign in with that one.
And, if the software is pirated then delete it and purchase legally.
    Other than that:
Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

  • Can't update iPhoto and iMovie in Mountain Lion

I get this message" To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it"- I have an apple account and have logged out and back on repeatedly, but still get the same message. I just received an new MacBook with iMovie and iPhoto already installed- but not Mountain Lion, so I purchased Mountain Lion, and now seem to be locked out of these updates.
    Any ideas?  Thanks

As fellow User leonieDF noted in another thread:
To upgrade your preinstalled iLife applications you have to accept them as purchased with your AppleID.
Launch the App Store and sign into your account. Then go to the "Purchased" tab. Here the iLife applications should be waiting for you to be accepted. Click the "Accept" button. This will register them to your current account. Now you should be ablet to upgrade them using the App Store.
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.
    Hope this helps

  • Webstart no longer works after update from Java 7 Update 67 to Java 7 Update 71/72

    Hi,
We have an application that is launched via Webstart.  Last year, we had to make a bunch of changes to the application in order to work with Java 7 Update 45.  It has been working fine up to and including Java 7 Update 67.  However, it is no failing with Java 7 Update 71 and 72.  Upon launch it is giving the error below. I have searched online and found other articles related to the AccessControlException but they are about 7 years old.  I also tried adding this to the java.policy file with no luck.  Any ideas or help would be appreciated to determine what I can do to get this to work for update 71.

  • Java 7 Update 11 Not Working with Firefox

For me, the problems described in the thread "Java 7 Update 10 Not Working with Firefox? " Java 7 Update 10 Not Working with Firefox?
are continuing with Java 7 Update 11.
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Firefox 18
The problem is that "Java(TM) Platform" is missing from the plug-in list.
I've uninstalled Java 7 Update 11 and reinstalled Java Update 9 which correctly installs the plugin and restores Java functionality which was broken immediately upon installing both Java 10 & 11.

So why not using Ju11 ? You can workaround the issue. It would sucks but still be safer than using Ju9.
Also ask Mozilla forums if Firefox has options where to search for plugins.
Or try 64-bit Firefox. As I explained in both threads ...
Java 7 Update 10 Not Working with Firefox?
Java 7 Update 11 Not Working with Firefox
... neither jre7u10 nor jre7u11 are working ... and they are BOTH broken with the same problem ... "Java(TM) Platform" pliugin is missing from the plug-in list. It cannot be enabled, because it simply is NOT there. A suggestion was made the jre7u12 will be the "fix" for this issue ... so I installed the Update 12 Preview and it sis ALSO broken, no "Java(TM) Platform" in the plug-in list.
The ONLY Java version that actually works for me is jre7u9.
As far as installing Firefox 64bit ... I see no future in installing a browser that has been discontinued.

Anyone have any ideas to get around this exception aside from uninstalling update 25?

I agree - check to make sure IE itself hasn't disabled Java.
Since you're using Java 7.10, please also check the Security tab in the Java Control Panel which can be found in the Windows Control Panel.
While in the Java Control Panel, check also the Advanced tab and make sure Microsoft Internet Explorer is checked under 'Default Java for browsers'
Alternatively check this registry key: HKCU\Software\AppDataLow\Software\JavaSoft\DeploymentProperties
    For this setting: deployment.webjava.enabled
Make sure its set to 'true' to enable java; if its 'false' it disables java.

  • Failure to install Java 6 update 20

Today, as well as for the past month, I have been living without Java because every time I try to install Java 6 update 20, and any other update before that, it was interrupted during installation and to try again later, but it still will not work later. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

    Hi Priscilla,
afaik B1 native do not use Java at all. It only requirer MS .net framework. So perhaps you use an addon, which requires Java.
Then you should ask the addon manufacture.

This test result meets G1GC specified (more GC times but smaller GC pause). While comparing to the test result of java 7 update 5, the result is quite surprised me:
    java version "1.7.0_05"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_05-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.1-b03, mixed mode)

The throughput does increase but the GC pause-time does not meet the minimum requirement (< 100 millisecond) quite a big difference!
Again, both runnings use same command GC options. System shows to me like:
    -XX:InitialHeapSize=12884901888 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=100 -XX:MaxHeapSize=12884901888 -XX:+PrintCommandLineFlags -XX:+PrintGC -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+UseG1GC
Do I miss something secrets when using java 7 update 5 for GC specific issues?

I think this is less about the JRE and more about the browser and its settings. Refer to the Microsoft documentation for more information about how, why, and when the info bar will appear. Here is one example:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Internet-Explorer-Information-bar-frequently-asked-questions
Refer to the section that is titled +"When will I see the Information bar?"+ Here are some relevant points from that section which explain when the bar will appear:
<blockquote>•If a website tries to install an ActiveX control on your computer or run an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner.
•If you started Internet Explorer with add-ons disabled.
•If you need to install an updated ActiveX control or add-on program.</blockquote>
Here are more granular details about how the info bar works:
