Java 7 Update 9 don't work in mac os 10.7.5

I have Mac OS X 10.7.5. I have installed Java 7 Update 9 as confirmed by the Java Control Panel. When I go to java.com and try verifying installation I got no response, so there is a problem with my installation. I have reinstalled Java and I have deleted all temporary files via the Java Control Panel, as suggested at java.com. But still Java is not working. What can I do? Thank you for any solution!

I shoot tethered which requires that the D800 be recognized by the laptop.
However, I just figured it out. Nikon changed their USB protocol so that the D800 doesn't show up as a mass storage device. That said, the d800 IS recognized by image capture and be computer in general, just not like previous Nikon dSLRs. If you're tethering via Lightroom make sure the Nikon tethering plugin is enabled (which it may not be if you previously shot tethered with Canon).

Java 7 Update 51 is not working with Discoverer

We are unable to get Discoverer Plus to load with Java 7 Update 51, does anybody know of a fix for this?
We are on Discoverer Plus Version 11.1.1.6.0

same issue here. Installed JRE 7u51 on local client and when trying to use Discoverer Plus (11.1.1.7.0) i get the following SecurityException message:
"Missing required Permission manifest attribute in main jar:
http://url:port/discoverer/plus_files/disco5i.jarjar"
I have installed the Jan-2014 CPUs on the server for WebLogic 10.3.6 (patch 17572726) and Discoverer 11.1.1.7.0 (patches 17617649 and 17664563) as i thought Oracle would deliver a new and correctly signed disco5i.jarjar file but the error is still shown.
Edit: After going through MOS i have found the following notes:
* Using Java 7 Unable To Launch Discoverer Plus from -or- With Another Java Application Running (Doc ID 1574749.1)
* Missing Attributes Warning While Launching Discoverer Plus Using Java 7u25+ (Doc ID 1596541.1)
I then installed the mentioned patches 17303613 and 17295586 (delivers new disco5i.jarjar but only 11.1.1.7.0) on the server and the issue is resolved. At least for Discoverer Plus 11.1.1.7.0.

The instructions for using new features in Firefox 5.0 do not work on Mac, which is most likely your largest user considering Mac users can't use IE. Contol-clicking on a tab does not result in a menu with "pin tab" or any similar wording. It is not possible to drag one tab icon on top of another to create tab groups. Those are the only two changes I've tried. Do these features not work on Mac? If they do, how do those of us who are intelligent enough to use the superior computer find instructions?

Your point that the support is manned by volunteers and not the company producing the software is the problem. I have a little time right now, but I teach 15 credit hours of college writing courses during the academic term, which means I work 14 to 18 hours a day seven days a week. I do not have time to search through endless posts to seek answers to basic functionality questions. The companies that produce software should be responsible for explaining how it works, and they should do so in non-technical terms unless they want me to impose my expertise on them and demand perfect grammar on their sites. But then, corporate America is not held responsible for anything these days. Frequent, needless software updates that limit rather than enhance functionality are quickly turning me into a neo-Luddite.

Thunderbolt displays don't work with Mac Pro

I got today a brand new Mac Pro with 2 thunderbolt displays.
Both displays stay black when I try to connect them on any ot the 4 ports.
Old displays work on the normal port.
Why does new Mac Pro with new 2 thunderbolt displays don't work?

If you can just wait until next year, Time Cook is promising a totally re-vamped Mac Pro which I have to assume will have TB ports.
My only worry is that today (Oct. 23) in the whole new slew of gadgets, Apple will introduce a new TB Display, compete with USB 3.0 ports, ant-glare screens, etc.
Sigh - you live with the technology that you paid for...

Solaris Sparc 10, Firefox 3.6, Java v6 update 18 plugin not working

The java plugin (v6 update 18) for Firefox 3.6 on Solaris Sparc 10 is not working for me.

Obviously Sun (excuse me, Oracle) does not intend to support the solaris-10/sparc/firefox-3.6 combination. Firefox 3.6 requires the NPAPI and/or NPRuntime interfaces to java, but oracle does not provide the new "libnpjp2.so" java plugin with the jre-6u18-sparc-solaris java download.
A search at www.oracle.com does not turn up any support announcement about this. You have to learn it the hard way. :(
If you want to continue to use sparc-solaris, downgrade to firefox-3.5 so you can use the old libjavaplugin_oji.so module. Otherwise run Linux or Mac OS X to stay in the unix camp.

I updated to Yosimite, and now I cannot use my adobe products, Java is updated but doesn't work

I finally broke down and bought a writing/drawing tablet. It wouldn't work because I needed a new operating system. I upgraded to Yosimite, but now I cannot use any adobe product because Java needs to be updated, and I have the latest version. what do I do? can I roll an older operating system in to be able to use my programs?

Which Java did you update to. The version you need is Apple's Java for OS X 2014-001. The Oracle version is not what Adobe's apps require.

Java 7 Update 25 does not work consistently with FF 23.0.1 running in Mac OS 10.8.4. All plug-ins are up to date. Why?

2013 iMac running Mac OS 10.8.4 & FF 23.0.1. When I attempt to access a site (usually a city government site) that requires Java, the applet runs, but the content fails to appear. Sometimes if I play with the various plugins, close FF and restart it, I can get the content to appear. But that tactic does not always work. Besides, it is annoying to have to shut down the program and then go back to the search results I was using to see IF it will work.

IPhone 4 new ios7.1 update apps don't work

I just updated my iPhone 4 to the new ios 7.1 update that came out, my battery has gone down 20% is under 5 minutes of the update being downloaded. Everytime I try an open an app it freezes on the app opening screen then phone turns completely off and restarts. Does anybody have any help for this?

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Links in PDF don't work on Mac conversion?

I am working with Word 2011 on a Mac.
My document has linked TOC and many internal links and cross references.
When I convert to PDF, NONE of the work, whether I use "Save As PDF," Distiller, or Acrobat XI Pro...
Is this a known limitation?
Is there ANY workaround?
Or is Windows my only option to make the links in my PDF work the same as in my Word document?

If you use the MS add on for saving to PDF you might get the links. I use a PC, but as I understand it the PDF Maker that adds the links does not work on the MAC and never has. One MAC user (Phillip Jones) typically drops by and provides some insight into methods for getting the links, but I don't remember the solution (probably because I did not totally understand the solution as a PC user).

The Progam Techtool Pro does not work under Lion. Installing succesfull and display when starting an Error-Message (Techtool Deluxe not tested under Lion)
Where have any question for recommend Update. The Techtool Pro works only with Mac OS X 10.4.x too 10.6.x ...?

My new Mini comes with the internal power supply and the cord that comes with it is too short. Is it safe to use an extension cord with it?
Also, is there anyway to turn off the start-up chime? I have headphones plugged into it and with my older Mini as long as I did that I didn't hear the chimes.
Last, what happened to the up and down arrows to navigate? I usually use the mouse scroll wheel but my mother can't because of carpal tunnel (she got my old Mini).
You can use an extension cord however personally I would not. I would however recommend getting a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source.) You can find them at your local office supply store, Costco, Best Buy or local computer store. A much safer solution and it offers an additional layer of protection for your computer investment.
Regarding the start up chime, there are utilities for turning it off. You can find them by doing a Google Search however once again I'd recommend against it because the chime is an important part of the startup sequence. That being said why are you turning off the computer, please read your owners manual! If you insist on shutting down your computer rather than letting it sleep then simply turn down the sound prior to shutting it down.
In the current version of OS X Lion Apple has removed the scroll bars, You can turn them back on though in System Preferences - General - Show Scroll Bars. Lion is new and it's different, some things you may like some you may not. I would recommend reading MacWorlds review on it at:

I installed mac os x lion and now attachments for hotmail won´t work. I´ve tried everything. Uninstalling add ons, resetting the user agent string (although nothing was user set), trying with Safari and it doesn´t work neither. I haven´t tried IE because lion doesn´t support PCapplications. If your iMac is what is listed in the title of your post, than no it won't work.
According to google searches, that iMac has a Radeon HD 2400 or 2600 Pro GPU. That hasn't ever been supported in FCPX.
