Java / activex disaster zone here... Help!

please help me.. ever since I received this new pc from our IS dept, I have had problems with java and applets online. I am the designated webmaster for our site, but dont let that fool you - I am clueless.
My IE wont run applets, says "your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on this computer. This page may not display correctly. Click her for more information."
Nothing happens when I click (right or left). So I cannot see java scrollers, gifs, etc, even on my own site. The ActiveX settings are set at Enable, and the java settings are all active. I use Java plug-in 1.5.0_02
And for webdesign, I use an online software from the website developer, and everytime I use Java to upload photos, it locks up.
These 2 things seem to be connected. Once upon a time I was able to see the gifs online but then could not upload, so I chose the lesser evil. dont recall what those settings were.
Please help!!!???? Any advise?

In IE, when it blocks an ActiveX control from running, you can click on th eyellow par at the top of the IE window, and choose to allow the ActiveX to run/install. I have no clue about your file upload problem, and this is probably not the right forum for the question.

  • Java-Error while starting User Help in BMC tool

    Hi all,
    i have got a problem with the installed User Help in a tool from BMC Software: Java does not allow User Help to start unless I change security level to "middle" (instead of "high") in Java Control Panel.
    Of course I could just add the Site to the list of excepted sites and allow the application to run with that, but then every user would have to do so before he can use the Help, which in my eyes would be somewhat less than perfect.
    So is there a possibility to allow the application to start without reducing security settings or adding the site to exception list?
    The tool is installed on a Windows server, which runs a Tomcat.
    Screenshot of the error message is linked here: https://communities.bmc.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/420113-31507236/Help_Error.JPG.jpg. Translation: "Application blocked due to security settings.Your security settings have blocked the execution of an untrustworthy application."
    Thanks for your help and best regards

  • Java Plug-In's SSV Helper 2, Start Detector - are not Verified

    I have the following Internet Explorer Add-ons relating to Java...
    I had an old version of Java, something like 1.5 or 1.15 ? - it was from 2006... then i installed the latest version of java from the official java website (where i had to say yes to installing add-ons / active-x controls even before the download begun)... my new version is Java version 6 update 10, (build 1.6.0_10-b33). i think i uninstalled the old version of java first.. it left some files in its installation directory so i manually deleted them after i had installed the new version though, it had its own folder with the version number as its name, a different folder for each version.
    These are the java plug-ins i have...
    Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper (Not verified) Sun Microsystems, Inc. jp2ssv.dll
    Java(tm) Plug-In SSV Helper Sun Microsystems, Inc. ssv.dll
    JQSIEStartDetector Impl Class (Not verified) Sun Microsystems, Inc. jqs_plugin.dll
    i guess the SSV Helper (the first one, not 2) was the old version of java.. and the other two are the new version.
    My question, why are they not verified, is this normal, a danger/problem... considering the old java version add-on is verified.
    Also what do these add-ons do?, are they needed.
    thanks.
    I have windows xp home.sp3??? - its fully auto updated... internet explorer 7.

    Exactly .. I have way too much Java stuff in my add-ins that is NOT verified and am having problems deleting that which I may not need
    I wish we did not have to be a "developer" just to have the latest version of Java working on our systems. I realize more reading has to be done but for someone like me who has so many versions of Java and can not find out why this is so .. and how many I need in order to just prowse the web in the latest version of Java .. it is time consuming to have to go thru these Java add-ins and time consuming to have to want to remove older versions of Java.
    Sorry for the nit picking but it is valid for those of us who don't want to know all of this stuff.

  • How to send response message from Java mapping class? Please help!

    Hi Experts,
      I have a sync scenario
              -Req-->  -
    >
    SOAP           XI       RFC
              <Res--     <-----
      The Req message contains:
      <Order>
           <Orderid>100</Orderid>
           <Desc>Extrenal Order</Desc>
           <Qty>2500</Qty>
      </Order>
      Response message is:
      <Log>
         <LogTxt>Qty value cannot be more than 3 chars</LogTxt>
      </Log>
      In the XI I have to validate the input request message using a schema. For this I am writing a java mapping program using aii_map_api.jar.
    My requirement is that If the input message schema validation fails then I want to send a response message back to sender.
      How can I send a response message back to the sender in java mapping program?
    Kindly help with sample code example.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi,
    First, I think PI 7.1 has this functionality and perhaps it comes in a SP for PI 7.0 and XI 3.0.  So first have a look at that before creating custom development.
    Second, if you use the java mapping, you will only have access to a request or response message.  I would advise using a custom java module in the module processor and insert this message in the sender communication channel.  This will allow you to validate request and send a response.

  • Java programming applet issue newbie help

    hello
    i am a student taking an intro to OOP course using java. i have textMate and blue J as java editing environments. i have successfully managed a few lessons but now i am having trouble with applets. my applet source code will run in blue j but not in textmate and i think the reason has to do with the applet extension. first when i run the program successfully in blue jay it utilizes the sun.applet.main environment to display the applets output. but in textmate the identical code generates an error which i finally have a some information about why?
    the error in textmate reads
    :exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
    i am not sure whether this has to do with the import java.awt.*: or just the public void paint(Graphics g) method (code Below)
    the eventual intended output of the applet is to a web browser via an html document which calls the java applet but when i run this html document both firefox and safari display blank pages.
    i am on macpro with the latest java version - just downloaded last week
    is there some unique import statement to utilize import java.awt.*;
    import java.applet.*; in mac os or ???
    BTW the smile.gif is in the project folder with the java document
    thanks for any help
    Chapter 2: Welcome to My Day
    Programmer: rafe McDonald
    Date: November 5, 2009

    name, and the system date in an applet.
    import java.util.Date;

  • MS Patch KB2976627 Java ActiveX version control and how it affects RDS sessions

    The recent patch for MS to prevent IE from using older versions of Java ActiveX seems to put a version file under %localappdata% and pull this file from the Internet.  My questions are:
    1.  How does this work when you are using a mandatory profile for RDS users?
    2.  We don't allow internet access to the RDS servers/sessions.  How does that affect this whole process?
    I'm quite confused how this patch works with RDS overall, so any explanation is appreciated.

    I assume you are referring to this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2991000
    "Starting September 9, 2014, out-of-date ActiveX controls will be blocked on computers that have the August Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer (MS14-051)(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2976627/ )or a later update applied"
    If you apply this update and your users do not have access to the Internet, the control will simply be blocked.
    Microsoft list these options...
    "If your organization has to have more time to lessen dependencies on outdated Java controls, you can take one of the following actions: •Turn off the feature completely. To do this, use the Turn off blocking of outdated ActiveX controls for Internet
    Explorer Group Policy setting (or the corresponding registry key).
    Note This is the less secure option.
    •Turn off the feature for a specific domain. To do this, use the Turn off blocking of outdated ActiveX controls for Internet Explorer on specific domains Group Policy setting (or the corresponding registry key). This setting lets you turn off the feature on
    the specific domains on which your enterprise has an outdated Java dependency."
    Since you are using mandatory profiles, I would recommend updating the ActiveX control in the mandatory profile -> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg241183(v=ws.10).aspx

  • Activex property right click help

    Let me try to explain my problem again with more detail. I need to right click on an ActiveX property node, an example "FormFields (Index)" a variant, to find out how the value is setup for a drop down box in MS Word 2007. Help for ActiveX does properties do not show up from the context menu, although the property is clear listed on the menu, "Help for Item",  the second string of properties from the left.
    I discovered the "Item" is just a number that lists all Formfields in the Word document. Its used to select a Formfield but I was not able to bring up the simple help to inform me of the use.
    Don't start ranting duplicate msg please.... An IE glitch prevented me from replying to post http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/activex-property-right-click-help/td-p/1283920 and page wound up creating a new posting....

    Hi Richjoh,
    The reason that you are not seeing the help is because LabVIEW does not have the help files for Microsoft ActiveX properties.  LabVIEW includes the help files for LabVIEW properties, but not third party items.  In this case, it would be beneficial if that help menu was hidden.  If you think that this is something that that should be changed in LabVIEW, feel free to make your comments at www.ni.com/ideas.

    I cant download my photos from my iPhone4 to my PC. Can anyone here help. Tku.

    Importing photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll has nothing to do with iTunes. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
    If you have a Mac, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture application for this.
    If you have a Windows PC, you can use the Windoze Scanner and Camera Wizard.

    I need to run web based Microsoft CRM. I open it in Safari but the program does not respond. I suppose it has to do with Flash or ActiveX. Can someone help?

    What does the product developer say about system requirements? If it needs to be run from within Internet Explorer then you'll need to find a way to run Internet Explorer. Boot Camp or VM installation of Windows would be two options.
    But first check the product requirements.

  • How do i invoke Windows APIs in JAVA??? Please help.

    Is there a way to invoke Windows APIs in Java??? Please help......Thankx

    Short answer, you don't. However, you should look at Java Native Interface (JNI) very closely. It will allow you to wrap the Win32 API calls so that Java can call your wrapper methods. Another side to it, although not necessarily related to your question is a JavaBeans to COM bridge that you may want to look into as well, though it's probably not going to be a solution for what you're wanting to do right now.

  • At a dead end.  A java student in need of help.

    I've hit a wall.
    The program is supposed to allow the user to draw five different polygons using the polygon class and let the user pick the color for each polygon and move each polygon around the screen once it is filled in. The user clicks to add the points and then double clicks to fill in the polygon. Then the polygon is added to the array. Up to the dragging around the screen the program works fine. When I click on a polygon with the shift down nothing happens and I've spent several hours trying to figure out why.
    I've placed several System.out.println's in the code and I think I've narrowed down the problem. (I hope) I think it might have something to do with the canvas repainting. Because the S.O.P's show that the program is going through and executing that code. It might also have something to the do with my polygon array, but to my knowledge that is setup fine.
    Thanks a bunch if you try to help.

  • I would like to make a employeemis with using java, what the eror?HELP!

    Create a class named Employee. Includes data members for Employee class :
    Data member     Data type
    Employee id     String
    Employee name     String
    Icno     String
    Gender     Char
    Date of birth     String
    Address     String
    Commencing Date     String
    Department     String
    Position     String
    Salary     Double
    Include any relevant methods for example constructor that can perform initialization for all data fields, accessor methods that return each of data field values and mutator method to set values into the data fields. Use a constructor to set each Employee id to 99999 upon object creation.
    Write another java application named EmployeeDb. Declare an array of three Employee objects.
    Your program should be able to perform the following functions:
    (a)     Prompt user to enter three Employees information from the console and store data in an array
    (b)     Search an employee by name.
    (c)     Display all employee information by using a loop.
    This cannot save file totext file.
    So, this is my coding, i try many times but cannot to do search and display..why? who can help me solve it?

    What the error exactly? Or someone have other method can write? Please help me.. thank you

    What do you mean, what's the error? That's for you to tell us. Did you try to compile it and get some error messages? Or do error messages happen when you run it? Or does it just not do what you hoped it would? In any of these three cases, you should be able to copy and paste any error messages here, or tell us what you don't like about its behaviour.
    It's impossible for us to run that code, even if we wanted to -- which we don't. You didn't post it in the CODE tags and so it's mangled and unreadable.
