Java applet error when using proxy

I'm new with my project. I came in towards the end of R2.0 development and inherited an ongoing issue wherein the java applet throws a login exception error when proxy is used to connect. There's no issue when we do not use a proxy.
Per my knowledge, R2.0 involves an upgrade from an older weblogic v(8.1?) to 10.3. We did not have this problem with the old version.
Based on the java logs, the error below appears after the "set-cookie" step, which i noticed creates a new JSESSIONID
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: .....
+....+
+....+
+....+
Login Exception. Please see your System Administrator.
I have already checked our proxy configurations and they do not have anything whitelisted (which would somehow explain why the old version worked, although nothing in the IP changed which should prevent the new app from working today) nor blacklisted (which would prevent the application from working today).
I am suspecting it's from the cookie, or from the upgrade. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the code because it's being developed by a third-party vendor.
Can someone suggest what to check to resolve this issue?
In case the information I've provided is insufficient, please let me know what else is needed that will help shed some light on this matter.

wrong forum. your question has nothing to do with WebLogic JDBC

    I had tried using -Xms / -Xmx options (upto 1 GB).
    The trace of exception gets delayed (from being displayed on the console) as the memory size is increased; but after sometime it starts getting displayed on the console.
    Even though this exception is displayed on the console, the Timer Bean continues to execute upto sometime before it finally crashes!
    If anyone has encountered such problem; would appreciate if you could share the solution.
    Regards, Vidyadhar

    Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

  • Java heap error when using compc

    I have a large project, 100's of source files that I'm trying to compile into a swc. In Flash Builder 4 it works fine. When I try to do it in compc I get a Java heap space error. I've scoured google for help and haven't found anything useful. Does anyone on here know much about ant or compc? What am I doing wrong?
    Here's the code that I use to compile. It gets all the files for me so I don't have to type them in one at a time. That part seems to work, it's when it calls compc that ant hangs for about 30 seconds then quits with a Java heap space error.

  • Why don't java applets run when using Firefox 4.0 in a windows limited user account?

    Java applications will not run in Firefox 4.0 when the windows user/process only has limited user access rights. The systems, I see this behaviour on have Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 4.0 and JRE 1.6.0_24 installed. The java application will run when when full administrative rights are present. This issue did not occur with the 3.6 firefox version that was previously installed.

    The problem also exists with the newer Firefox 4.0.1 and Java 1.6.0_25 versions.
    Enabling administrative rights resolves the issue ... though this defeats the purpose of using a limited user.
    The underlying bug appears to be in the Firefox java plugin detection code. The issue is related to the detection code requiring write access to the HKLM\SOFTWARE\mozilla.org windows registry key. The limited user only has read access for this registry key. The behaviour was identified using the Sysinternals ProcessMonitor utility ... showed firefox calling an interface to create the registry key and getting an access denied response in the limited user case.
    A more targeted workaround for the issue is to grant the limited user write access on the HKLM\SOFTWARE\mozilla.org windows registry key. This avoids the need to grant administrative rights to the user and enables the java plugin to be detected. That is, it works on the 2 XP systems where the java plugin wasn't being detected in limited user accounts.

  • UDESEncrypt Errors when using the JAVA engine (NW IDM 7.0)

    Folks,
    I'm seeing an error when I use the uDESEncrypt function with the Java Engine in NW IDM SP2 Patch 3.
    The error I am getting is:
    runFunctionsInString($FUNCTION.encrPWD()$$) got exception
    org.mozilla.javascript.EvaluatorException: uDESEncrypt: Key should be exactly 24 bytes long.
    The code calling it is:
    // Main function: encrPWD
    function encrPWD(Par){
         //Example calling DSE internal function
         //UserFunc.uStop("Terminated by user");
         key = "C:\Program Files\SAP\IdM\Workflow\configs\KEY\keys.ini";
         OutString = UserFunc.uDESEncrypt(key, Par);
         return OutString;
    I have also seen this error when using Patch 4.
    Interestingly enough, the error does not occur when using the Windows Engine.  Anyone else seeing this?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matthew,
    Try to replace the '\' with '
    key = "C:
    Program Files
    SAP
    IdM
    Workflow
    configs
    KEY
    keys.ini";
    Alternative approaches,
    1) setting key empty and it will look into %DSE_HOME%\KEY\key.ini
      which should be C:\Program Files\SAP\IdM\Identity Center\Key\key.ini on default installation path.
    2) or setting the key to something like = 6D5A2AF59B1CDD7F9592484F178331C891537A3F9B91D362
       a 24 byte key...
    Also when using DES you should ensure that in Identity Center underneath Options/General
    you have encryption algorithm set to 3DES.
    Normally if you intend to use this for password provisioning in IC you would also
    on the identity store (for instance 'Enterprise people') underneath 'password policy' check
    of for 'enable password provisioning.'
    By doing so the MX_ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD with be set when operating through
    workflow (3DES encryption version of the MX_PASSWORD) which allows you to obtain password
    when provisioning to other target systems...

  • Error When connecting proxy

    Hi,
    When I try to connect proxy in application, it is not connecting instead when I check whether it is going through proxy or not it is telling that it is establishing direct connection only. Here I have posted part of the coding. Please If any error give me a hint.
                System.setProperty("ProxySet", "true");
                SocketAddress addr = new InetSocketAddress("webcache.mydomain.com",80);
                proxy=new Proxy(Proxy.Type.HTTP,addr);here in this code part I am checking whether is connecting with proxy or not.
    URL u = new URL(url);
    URLConnection uu=u.openConnection(ScrapperInterface.proxy);
    try
                    URI uuu = uu.getURL().toURI();
                    List l=ProxySelector.getDefault().select(uuu);
                    for (Iterator iter = l.iterator(); iter.hasNext(); )
                         Proxy proxy = (Proxy) iter.next();
                         System.out.println("proxy hostname : " +proxy.type());
                         InetSocketAddress add = (InetSocketAddress)proxy.address();
                         if(add == null)
                             System.out.println("No Proxy");
                         else
                             System.out.println("proxy hostname : " +add.getHostName());
                             System.out.println("proxy port : " +add.getPort());
    catch (URISyntaxException ex)
                    Logger.getLogger(StartThread.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    }Output is:
    proxy hostname : DIRECT
    No Proxy

    Re: Error When connecting proxy You didn't get any error when you created the connection. Your title is misleading. Probably you are misleading yourself - see below.
    System.setProperty("ProxySet", "true");That does nothing. There is no such property, contrary to widespread belief.
    SocketAddress addr = new InetSocketAddress("webcache.mydomain.com",80);
    proxy=new Proxy(Proxy.Type.HTTP,addr);... and using java.net.Proxy has nothing to do with system properties in any case.
    URLConnection uu=u.openConnection(ScrapperInterface.proxy);Here you are opening a URLConnection via the proxy. As you got output from the code further down it is clear that this step must have succeeded. So all the code below is pointless.
    URI uuu = uu.getURL().toURI();Here you are getting the URI you created the connection for.
    List l=ProxySelector.getDefault().select(uuu);Here you are getting the Proxies the default ProxySelector would have given you for that URI. Nothing to do with the URLConnection you created, and nothing to do with the Proxy you created either.
    InetSocketAddress add = (InetSocketAddress)proxy.address();So here you are testing the proxy address for the system's default proxy for that URI. Again, nothing to do with what you did above.
    What you should be doing here is using the URLConnection you have already created. Not testing an address.

  • Jre 15.0_22/Linux - Swing components error when using GTKLookAndFeel

    Hello,
    I'm not sure if it's a JRE bug or what, but on Linux platforms our applet fails when using swing components using the GTKLookAndFeel.
    To demonstrate/test, I have the ff test applet:
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import javax.swing.UIManager;
    import javax.swing.UnsupportedLookAndFeelException;
    public class TestApplet extends Applet {
      @Override
      public void init() {
        super.init();
        test();
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        (new TestApplet()).test();
      public void test() {
        try {
          String className = UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName();
          System.out.println(className);
          javax.swing.LookAndFeel laf = (javax.swing.LookAndFeel) this.getClass().forName(className).newInstance();
          UIManager.setLookAndFeel(laf);
          System.out.println("setting classloader");
          UIManager.put("ClassLoader", this.getClass().getClassLoader());
          UIManager.getLookAndFeelDefaults().put("ClassLoader", this.getClass().getClassLoader());
        } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
          // TODO Auto-generated catch block
          e.printStackTrace();
        } catch (InstantiationException e) {
          // TODO Auto-generated catch block
          e.printStackTrace();
        } catch (IllegalAccessException e) {
          // TODO Auto-generated catch block
          e.printStackTrace();
        } catch (UnsupportedLookAndFeelException e) {
          // TODO Auto-generated catch block
          e.printStackTrace();
        System.out.println(UIManager.getLookAndFeelDefaults().getUIClass("javax.swing.JTextField"));
        UIManager.getLookAndFeelDefaults().getUI(new javax.swing.JTextField());
    }The system look and feel here is GTKLookAndFeel. The problem is that the getUI() call in the last line is returning null and I can see in the console:
    UIDefaults.getUI() failed: no ComponentUI class for: javax.swing.JTextField
    java.lang.Error
    .. etc.
    This is happening for different swing classes, I just used JTextField here as a simple test case.
    This only happens if the applet is run from the browser (via the java plugin). If I run the above code from the command line, there is no error raised, and the actual component UI class is a Synth class.
    This is only happening for us in Java 1.5.0_22 on Linux...on 1.5.0_15 and 1.6+ it seems to be fine. I'm using the 1.5.0_22 JDK downloaded from Sun.
    Anyone have any idea how to fix this error or any workaround? As you can see in the code above, I tried specifying the classloader (I read it in some other thread on these forums), but no luck there.
    Or is this a known problem in 1.5.0_22? Can anyone else replicate it?

    Installation howto you can find on http://www.puschitz.com
    Try use "Search" function before you create new topic. This one was discussed many times.

  • Error when using Oracle Migration WorkBench (Sql Server 2k to Oracle 8i)

    I'm trying to migrate a Sql Server 2k database to an Oracle 8i schema using OMWB. After using BCP to collect metadata information on the source database, I tried to capture the source data model and got a "Capture aborted" message on the progress screen (even though then it appears a dialog window reporting "0 errors and 0 warnings", funny!). Down there is the error log OMWB generated. After reading some posts, I changed some columns of the OMWB dictionary that holds the source database name, but still got the same error. If someone can enlighten me on this toppic, I'd greatly appreciated it.
    Here's the error log of OMWB:

    I am getting the following error when using spring binding for a command form class.
    Class ExCommandForm

    The problem doesn't look like it has anything to do with wappers per se. The stack indicates that the JVM died when the persistent store tried to invoke a standard Java synchronize operation. JVM crashes need to be analyzed by a JVM expert, so I second the suggestion to solicit help from JVM experts and/or filing a case with customer support. In the mean-time, you can probably work-around the issue by either (A) ensuring you have a recent version of the JVM installed, or (B) temporarily switching to the Sun JVM.

    If you are using JDeveloper then remove the following file:
    <JDEV_HOME>\j2ee\home\jaxb-rt-1.0-ea.jar
    <JDEV_HOME> is the location where you have JDeveloper installed.
    When you compiled your classes, you compiled them with JAXB 1.1 libraries in the JWSDP 1.3.
    When you were running your classes within JDeveloper, OC4J looked at the jaxb-rt-1.0-ea.jar library before looking at the libraries in WEB-INF\lib, causing the IncompatibleClassChangeError.
    Hope this helps.
