Java applet is screwed under both FireFox and Konqueror the same way

Ok, we have IcedTea6 Java Plugin now, and Scottrader streaming quotes applet is working both under FireFox and Konqueror.
The problem it is sort  of screwed (similar way under FireFox and Konqueror) with respect to what I  see under Windows.
What should I do, file the bug with www.iced-tea.org ?

any errors? just the visual..what?
By "screwed" I mean the inteface is seen just partially with respect to what I see under Windows Explorer -- only some buttons are avalilable.
Another thing, but it's an old problem with real Java plugin, which was working under Konqueror long time ago -- the color of pull-down menus is dark-blue (text is not readable on it), while under Windows Exporer it is white.
Are you averse to using Sun JRE if IcedTea is not working out for you?
As to my knowledge, there is no Sun Java plugin for 64-bit Linux.

Hello, if you're talking about disabling Java in say Safari...

  • Are Firefox and Flock the same Browser?

I have Flock and wonder if a change is worth the effort.

Up to Flock 2.6, it was based on the Mozilla gecko rendering engine that Firefox uses, but recent versions of Flock are based on Chromium, as used by Google Chrome.
If you test Firefox and do not like it you can uninstall it.

Hello. Since my last firefox update, I have been unable to type an email - the box within which one would usually type does not appear when I press 'reply' to a received email, or press 'compose'. The email provider is '123-reg.co.uk. I have been using both firefox and the provider ['webfusion Ltd/webmail123] successfully for well over a year. The provider says it is a browser problem. I can still add an attachment to the email header, which successfully can be sent, but the recipient gets my standard email 'signature' with font messages and the attachment. Can anyone help? My email addresses are [email protected] [this is the one with the issue] and [email protected] in English

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. My laptop is new and has plenty of RAM and HDD. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped working and does not work when I re-load Firefox 3.6. Also IE8 now works very slowly and does not locate major websites like Microsoft without a 'can't find the website message' and having to pressing Return a second time. When I do get to the Mozilla website and click on the button to try to download Firefox 3.6.6, I get this message "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mozilla3.snt.utwente.nl". Can you help with what has gone wrong? As it stands, I can't use Firefox at all. Note: because Firefox did not work after the upgrade, I've downloaded the IE8 version of the Adobe Flash 10.1. What I really want is to be able to use both Firefox and IE8. But is this possible if they use different versions of Adobe Flash?

I have been having the same problem as the original poster. After upgrading to Ffx 3.6.6, the program asks you to upgrade to Flash Player Plugin 10.1. I download and installed 10.1 only to find videos weren't loading.
In my case, the problem is the previous installation of Flash Player (9.0.47) was somehow messing things up. To fix this, because I already had Flash plugin 10.1 installed I had to uninstall 10.1 using the uninstaller from adobe and then manually remove any files related the old flash player plugin 9.0.47
Here is a run-down of my process:
    0. To check if you have a previous installation of the Flash Plugin lurking around, in Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins (tab). At this point you may seen both Flash plugins.
    1. Proceed to uninstall Flash Plugin 10.1. Adobe provides an uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
( you have to make sure you have nothing running when you execute the installer).
    2. On my Mac (sorry I don't know what it is in Windows) I searched the hard drive for any files/folders with "Shockwave". I found a folder called "Shockwave 10". It wasn't removed by Adobe's uninstaller. For safety I deleted it and then emptied the trash.
    3. I then went to My HD -> Library -> Internet Plugins.
Remove the file and folder named "Flash player.old"
    4. Restarted; ran the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installer. Restarted again.
    5. Opened up ffx and double checked the plugins list (see step 1). Version 10.1 is installed and available. Went to problem sites to test it out and Success!
    Hope this helps.

  • Firefox updated, Video download helper no longer works, no error msg. I have uninstalled both Firefox and VDH, reinstalled, VDH still does not work, Why

Video Download Helper does not work after most recent update. I have cleared cache and cookies, uninstalled both Firefox and the helper, that has not corrected. When Firefox does an update are the "vendors notified so they can see if their product needs changes in order to be compatible? This may sound like a stupid ?, but it makes sense tome. Telling me to download something else, in my eyes is not REALLY solving the problem.

Don't uninstall 36. Just download and install 35 over top and you don't lose any data. I already did and everything works just fine. But I did remove VDH first.

  • For some reason both Firefox and Thunderbird says my profile is missing and the apps won't load. Please help...I have tried reloading FF but it did not help.

It just started today....but I can't get in to either Firefox or Thunderbird. Says my profile is missing or lost. That is the total message. I did not know I had a profile or do I know how to look for it. It is odd both apps failed at the same time.
    Thanks
    Bob

I'm sorry you're expierencing this problem. Open the Profile Manager by following the directions in the article, [[Managing profiles]]. If a profile shows up, select it and hit start Firefox.
If no profiles show up, you need to follow the direction on the same article to set up a new profile. Although, I am not sure if it is possible to recover your old profile.

  • Latest Flash version crashing both Firefox and IE

    Hello.
Been using Flash in both IE and Firefox for years with no major problems until the last update a little over a week ago. Now, whenever I am watching video for more than about 5 minutes, the process for either browser's memory grows steadily way way up from where it normally is - and where it started (and where it used to stay) - and eventually crashes the player, the browser and freezes the entire computer. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Flash and it hasn't helped. I stopped using Explorer a long time ago and switched to Firefox but went back and checked to see if it would be any different using that browser -figuring it might just be a Firefox issue, but the same thing happens. So I just downloaded Chrome and will try and see what happens with that - but am very troubled, since this has caused me great unhappiness and stress over the last week.
So the problems seem to be with 15.0.0.152 / 167
Any suggestions? Is this a known issue? Thanks.
Windows XP - all up to date. No other issues. System is fine. Have run all sorts of system checks and malware scans and it shows up clean.
    Thanks again.

Same thing happens with Chrome. So all three different browsers - same problem with flash.
Was trying to watch a 4 hour long live stream of a game tonight - and needless to say, having to deal with a crash and have page file skyrocket every 5 minutes was not fun.

  • If I run both Firefox and IE 11 which Flash Player do I download or can I download both?

If I run both Firefox and IE 11 which Flash Player do I download or can I download both?

    Hi,
Firefox and IE uses different plugins of Flash Player but you can install both in your system.
Just go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer from IE browser and Install Flash Player -> It will install ActiveX plugin of Flash Player which is used by IE
And if you go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ from Firefox browser and Install Flash Player -> It will install NPAPI plugin of Flash Player which is used by Firefox.
    Hope it resolves your query.

  • HT201342 I cannot find any place to "Go to Mail Preferences".  I have tried looking under both "Mail" and "System Preferences" and there is nothing there entitled "Mail Preferences".  Where is that button located?

The instructions say "Go to Mail Preferences."
I cannot find any place called "Mail Preferences".  I have tried looking under both "Mail" and "System Preferences" and there is nothing there entitled "Mail Preferences". Under "Preferences" there is no subheading as described in the iCloud instructions.  Where is that "Mail Preferences" button located?

Open Mail, go to the 'Mail' menu, select Preferences.

  • Nautilus NFS shares listed under both Devices and Network

I have several NFS shares from my home server that I mount using fstab.  I am running a fully up to date installation of Gnome 3.12.  However, as my subject indicates, my NFS shares appear under both Devices and Network in Nautilus.  I've done some searching and not found much about this.  It is redundant and most importantly space wasting to have two lists of the same entries.  Is there a way I can eliminate this duplication?  Thanks.
Here is what I'm using in fstab to mount the shares:
    nfs noauto,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.device-timeout=10,rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,timeo=14,hard,intr,user 0 0

I indicated that I was trying to mount several NFS shares off my home server.  I should have mentioned that these are NOT NFSv4 shares.  Originally, I had the mount points inside my home folder.  I've since moved them in the /mnt directory and don't have duplicate entries.  Well, I don't have any entries under either Network or Devices.  I've made links to the directories where the NFS shares are mounted.  I was more curious if this was a bug with Nautilus or my own error as having the mount points in my home directory with other file browsers such as Dolphin in KDE did not yield duplicate entries with the same fstab mount options.
I guess the long and short of it is that if you are using Nautilus, have your NFS mount points outside your home folder.
    Thanks.

  • In Firefox, I cannot access web links to PDF files. I'm told the browser isn't compatible. I have recent versions of both Firefox and Acrobat, and the pages open fine in IE.

Any website that send me to a .pdf file will not open if I'm using firefox. In order to print postage from usps.com, for example, an Acrobat window has to open, and it won't.

Pat, thanks for your reply. I finally had some time to look further into this problem and still trying to figure out. First to answer your questions:
what is your operating system & version? Windows 7 Professional
on what browser(s) does that happen? Google Chrome, Firefox, IE
does it happen for any PDF link, e.g. this? Yes, any link with a pdf extension
does it still hapen with the latest Reader version 10.1.4? Yes, just downloaded it last week and still the same.
Another thing I noticed is afer unsuccessfully trying to access the pdf link, the resulting blank page reads "Could not load Adobe Acrobat" (could not load plug-in).
I do have Adobe Creative Suite 3 installed, which of course provides for Adobe Acrobat; I'm not sure if there is a conflict there, but I might uninstall everything and then just try with Adobe Reader to see from there.
I hope some of this helps. I appreciate your efforts in trying to assist.
    Cheers,
    Vinnie.

  • Why is the color offset on Flash Player in my Firefox, even after reinstalling both Firefox and Flash Player?

I have the latest version of Flash Player, the latest version of Firefox and my system is a Windows 7 64-bit. Every time I view a Flash Player window, the green color is offset down about one-quarter of the window. This makes it difficult to use Firefox to watch Flash content. This does not happen on any other browsers I have.

When I click that link, it goes (as it should from a U.S. IP Address) to the hyperlinked page 87, which is where the English portion begins.
Your browser or International settings may prevent it from doing so, but I have nine machines that ALL parse the link the same way.

  • When I check my boot SSD drive using Disk Utility under Mavericks, I often get "Incorrect number of extended attributes" errors.  But if I boot off an external drive and check the same SSD, no errors are reported.  Is this a bug in Mavericks?

When I check my boot SSD drive using Disk Utility under Mavericks, I often get "Incorrect number of extended attributes" errors.  But if I boot off an external drive and check the same SSD, no errors are reported.
This happens not just with the SSD in my Mac Mini, but with another SSD in my MacBook (both now running Mavericks).  So far as I know, all of the kit I am using is in good order (despite the file corruption reports).  So I am beginning to wonder if it could be due to a bug in Mavericks?  Both SSD drives have been formatted to MacOS Extended (journaled) format.  Should I have used a different format, I wonder?
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
    Does anyone have a solution?
Or an explanation that might help my investigation of the issue?
    Thanks guys,

I understand that the Corsair Force 3 is not one of the SSD drives that are supported on Apple Macs.
I did try downloading and using Trim Enabler, but the error message came up both when it was off and when it was on.
I understand that not everyone thinks Trim Enabler is a good program, though there is a new version out now, so I may give it another try.
