Java-based media players no longer have working buttons.

When I visit a website using java-based media players embedded on the page, autoplay will work just fine, but play/pause, volume control, etc. will not click. I already had Firefox updated to 10.0.2 days before this problem cropped up. With the exact same plugins, the same websites are viewable and buttons are clickable in Chrome and IE.
To resolve the issue, I uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated Firefox, Java, Flash and Shockwave. I tried disabling addons, all with no change. All plugins are up to date, as are all active addons.

Do you really mean Java or do you mean JavaScript?

Quick time safari media players no longer works in tiger

For some reason quick time movies and other formats don't play, just a solid silver block in player,still have sound, and will play if I convert to VLC, from info panel, have recently removed CS3 from this HD using adobe uninstaller provided, also safari media players don't work and cause safari to crash?

Thanks for the tip, I managed to get quick time back up by re-installing the whole package via Apple downloads, much the same with safari, however safari now seems much slower and has the odd kernel panic, I've never had any issues with safari before, is anyone else having problems with 3.1? I do have safari stand and safari tabs installed as well

Try pressing Command+I while in safari- or go to "View"-> "Show Toolbar"

Java-Based Upload Function No Longer Works After KB3021952 is Installed

Kindly note that my organization has just deployed the February 2015 Microsoft Security Patches including KB3021952. At the same time we have a Java web-based application that works fine before the February patches were deployed to all users. Upon deployment,
the upload function for the application started to fail, causing IE to crash (as shown below):

If I debugged the IE error using Visual Studio 2013 (loading symbols from Microsoft Symbol Servers option is enabled), the process will stuck at the following notification message:
I suspect that this error might be related to the new iexplore.exe file which being deployed together with KB3021952.
Another official case will be logged to the vendor of the Java web-based application. Just wanted to know if anybody else experienced the same issue upon the deployment of KB3021952. Additional information on my environment can be specified
as follow:
      Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise
      Java Version: Version 7 Update 75
      IE Browser Version: Internet Explorer 9 and 11 (same issues detected on both versions).

According to your description, it's hard to judge this update caused jave problem, you can try to uninstall the update package for test if this is Windows update problem.
On the other hand, according to the event log, IE crash seems like caused by MSVCR100.dll which refers to Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package. Please access to the link below to downlaod and reinstall it for test:

Any good xine-based media players?

Seeing as totem-xine drags in gnome deps, XFMedia is for XFCE, GQoob is dead, and gxine has a plugin that probably conflicts with xine-plugin... Are there any other Xine GUIs for GTK? Ones using pyxine, perhaps? I can't find any good/alive ones on Gnomefiles.org, but there have to be some, somewhere...

There seems to be no feature rich GUI for either mplayer or xine on gnome. I am looking for options which help in syncing subtitles(I believe it is a crucial feature). Both Smplayer and Kaffeine have them. It is a pity that many gnome apps have excellent user interfaces, but are not feature rich and kde has some apps with an amazing feature set but poor interface design. Many kde apps are impossible to use at 800x600 and I am currently not in a position to upgrade my display. Anyways, you can check http://xinehq.de/index.php/releases for some frontends but I have a feeling that the webpage is outdated.

Have you tried mimising the mail app, double tap hom ebutton, hold the app where it appears along the bottom of the screen until it wiggles and then tap on minus sign. Tap once on home button and then open the mail app again

Need help with Media Players, please.

I have a mid-2007 iMac OS X 10.9.3 (Maverick) still in perfect shape, except for what I may have just messed up.
I was trying to watch a video on VeeHD and it said that I needed the VeeHD plug-in. From some research I did, I learned that the newer versions of DivX don't play well with Apple and that older versions worked better. So, I uninstalled my DivX player (and everything DivX) from my computer and installed the recommended earlier version 14. I'm still having the same problem. I use Safari as my main browser because Firefox was giving me problems with loading times and buffering.
I'm wondering what I did wrong because now, no matter what video content I try to play, I get a gray box with HTML5 in it instead of the usual "Play" button (the triangle). Once I click on HTML5, it then says FLASH and I have to click that to get the video to load. Even on YouTube. No matter what I do now, I can't get this to change back to the way it was and pages in general are taking longer to load and buffer. I tried repairing permissions. I'm afraid I may have deleted a plug-in that I shouldn't have and don't know which one.
Does anyone have any suggestions, please? I'm afraid I've put my foot in it. Also, which media players should I have or which ones are the best? Which one is the best default player? I have an updated Flash Player, Perian, VLC, Mac Media Player, DivX v.14, FLV Crunch, and Quicktime. Too many? Am I missing some? I watch videos on different sites like Firedrive, GorillaVid, BestStream, MightyUpload, YouTube, etc., I've never had any problems until I messed around with my DivX player (the only player I had trouble viewing with, until now.)

That's exactly what it was. I had ClickToFlash downloaded. I've had it for awhile and it didn't affect any of my video watching until I uninstalled DivX. I wonder why.
Now that I understand ClickToFlash, the only thing I like about it is that it prevents videos from playing automatically when a page is loaded. But, I uninstalled it and the loading and buffering delays went away. Thanks very much!

Asio Driver issue in Premiere Pro CC conflicting with all other media players on PC

Whenever I have Premiere or audition or After effects opened---- should I want to play a media clip on J River Media center, or Windows Media Player, the Asio driver is locked by the Adobe products, so the other media players do not have access to it. This may be a new windows 8.1 phenomenon, as i never had this before with 64 bit Windows 7.
I have had some success running the other media players on the lousey windows sound drivers, but they don't sound nearly as good as the Asio driver does, with its near zero latency.
My sound card is a Lynx aes 16, and the Win 8.1 PC pushes the digital audio out to my Berkely DAC , then to separate mono bloc amps, into Magnepan speakers as the reference audio system for my music and video editing....or for entertainment listening :-)
Does anyone have a solution that will force the Adobe CC software to release the Asio driver when I try to use J River Media center, or some other media player?

I had this problem this evening 090813 after upgrading my Adobe Cloud Desktop.
I open Pro CC and had the Dolby Audio Decode Licensing Restriction for (File name.......... ) Error
Previous CC progs loaded and worked with problem.
I uninstalled Pro CC - Restarted the computer - Re-installed Pro CC.
Now working with no problem.

That is not necessarily true. You are allowed to make a back-up of media you own and, at least in the Netherlands, even a copy of a work you've borrowed from a library. The law expressly permits this and you pay a certain amount for recordable media to allow for home use. See http://www.thuiskopie.nl/nl for this. If you then decide to destroy the media, i.e. do not transfer the media to someone else, I don't see how you infringe copyright by keeping the back-up. But I guess some so-called creatives like the idea of making money in all kinds of hypothetical ways...
It is a nice dream, where you have to work once and then earn a lot of money by selling millions of copies from your work. But buyers can make copies too!! Hahahahahaha!

Java based Chat console works fine, but does not automatically scroll down to last chat item

I cannot see what goes wrong in here and the manufacturer does not know how to fix this either.
Irritatingly this scrolling function is working normally in IE, Chrome and some other browsers.
I sure hope you can help me, as this is a very irritating problem that needs to be solved.

sorry for such a late reply. I tried modifying the java bean to resize the JScrollPane object also but even that didn't work. Then I hardcoded the size of my Java Bean in my forms code by trial and error. For example, the size of the bean area was 381x169. The values that I had to pass to the "setSize" bean method were 510x195. This made the bean exactly fit the bean area. Seems crazy to me, but there it is.

I have the same problem on my iPhone4. It is obviously a bug in the software. Once it pops out I am locked out of my phone. I can't even begin to describe the frustration this causes. All that stuff about holding down the buttons is useless. the phone won't even shut off. I can take a screen shot like that or go to voice control. Even when I got to a wifi connection, I can't get on. This app blocks everything else. This is a serious bug and can have serious consequences. The only thing my phone would do is go to voice control and let me play iTunes or phone people. Some smart phone hey?

I have an iPad 1st generation that no longer has working volume buttons but every once in a while the sound turns on. So I know the speakers still work. I have tried resetting all settings and made sure that my side switch was auto lock not auto mute.

I have tried the mystical swiping upward on the screen with 4 fingers to get some special sound menu (which I never succeeded in getting). My headphone jack doesn't work all the time either so some times my kids can hear their games and sometimes they can't. I am super frustrated at this point. So any suggestions would be great. Am I missing something basic or do we just have a soundless iPad now?
