I have a sun blade 100 and I would like to do some java card / smart card development work, testing. My immediate need is for 1 card. I do not know where to begin to find one, nor what to ask for.
I have an AM EX blue card ..... I am a bit concerned writing to the AM EX card by mistake versus just reading from the card. Therefore I would like to get a blank card just for testing. Of course I want to test both the reading and writing.
What are my options. Where can I get the card?

Hi David. I don't have as modern a Macbook Pro as you, mine is a 2012 model, but perhaps I can help. I often find that my SD card will not load when I first insert it. I have to remove it and then put it into the slot again firmly.
You also haven't posted any information about the SD card. What size is it, do you know how it is formatted, has it worked in that same mac previously, where did it come from, does it currently work in another device (such as your camera)? This sort of information will help to narrow down the problem.
If you post some more information I'm sure people will try to help you. In the meantime, if you look at your post again you should see "More Like This" at the bottom of the page and you may find an answer in some of those related posts.

Yes, I agree - 10 seconds can be a bit short for a backlight, but it makes you read faster and act faster - and that is a skill you can use everywhere in live.
In my next Nokia I hope they take it down to 9 seconds :-)

Why not use both a PC card and the Mac card?

Well I'm looking at possibly getting a MacPro because my wife wants cut down on my computer clutter and she realizes that macs can run windows now. Basically here is my concern. I am a PC gamer there is no getting around that. I'm also waiting for the new DirectX 10 cards to come out, and obviously Vista.
So anyways on to my question. I've read that you can't replace the MacPro stock cards but there is also extra slots for the cards. Now I'm not sure how bootcamp works since i'm still on PPC, but couldn't you just leave the stock macpro card in and lets just say I did have a PC video card, would Bootcamp be able to use that, or is there a way to designate which video card for bootcamp to use?

From what I gather, you can put a standard (made for PC) PCIe graphics card in one of the slots. It's just that you have to swap your monitor lead over when you boot into Windows - unless, of course you have a spare monitor, where you can just leave it plugged in.
I've not tried it yet, but will install XP and an Nvidia 6800GT this weekend... I'll let you know how it goes - although I don't know if the supplied 7300 is a better or worse card (comment anybody?)
But, in the long term, when(!) and if(!) Vista ever supports EFI booting, I'm sure the graphics card makers will make their ROMs both BIOS/EFI compatable... Hopefully then, with a re-flashed ROM, we may be able to install and use off-the-shelf video cards, but don't hold your breath.

My satelite A100 does not support my sandisk 4 GB SDHC card.
"normal" SD cards are not a problem with the internal card reader, and there are no problems with the sandisk 4 GB SDHC card using a external card reader.
is there a software solution?

I do not have time to read users manuals for your notebook model but all supported cards can be listed there. I suppose SDHC is not listed and not supported.
I do not know what you mean with software solution but, as far as I know, update for multimedia card reader is not available.

MBP won't read SD card, but will read CF card with the same card reader

As the title says, I have a card reader that works great with a CF card, but the MBP won't recognize an SD card. This is a new problem for me. I also have an express card adapter for SD that won't read the card, either. I have tried 4 different SD cards, and these exact cards have worked for me in the recent past (within the past 2 months). They work fine in the camera. I also tried connecting the camera via usb, which was unsuccessful. I tried blowing air on the cards and the reader. I cannot get the cards to be read on my wife's macbook. This makes no sense to me, as it worked fine the last time I tried. I find it hard to believe that all cards are corrupt, or the cable is the problem because it reads the CF card.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

check if the SD Card is a SDHC card and if the card reader can read that. I know I have a friend who had this issue and in the end had to buy a new card.

There is no way to disable the graphics card on your Air because there would be no way to use it (it would not be able to display anything on any display). This is a little different on machines with multiple graphics processors, but that's not the case with your Air. I'd imagine you know what you want to do, we're just having trouble understanding your question.

The payment info is the credit card I use daily to purchase iTunes and other items, and is a valid card. I'm unsure how to resolve this? Any suggestions? What other card could they be trying to use? I confirmed with my credit card company that apple did not try to authorize a payment on this card, so they must have been using one of the previous cards I've had to cancel due to fraudulent activity (love the internet age).

By the way - this is my 'family sharing' authorized card - I can't actually change payment info on this screen. The note on the payment screen says "This payment method is being used with Family Sharing. Applicable purchases initiated by family members will be billed to this account. Change it in iTunes & App store settings". Perhaps the actual card being used for my iCloud storage is different? I'm not sure how to access/update that one...

Exactly that, there is a problem with the sim card.
The sim card is the little chip that links your iPad to the cellular providers network to get internet anywhere.
It may have moved in the tray and lost contact, it may have an actual issue, or it may be deactivated by your cellular service provider.
Contact them to have them look at it or your service and see if there is anything wrong with it.
