Java code layout

Question

I was wondering if someone could fill me in on what is the universal way is of presenting java code.
I am using an emacs editor to edit my code in. So does emacs have a function which converts the typed in code to a standard format?
For example, if you have brackets {} which indicate "do nothing" in java, should you put them like this in your code:

And how many blank lines should you have between different chunks of code? i.e. Is there a universal way to deal with all these types of questions? Thank you.

Not sure if there's a "universal" code format for Java.
The more organised software development companies will have guidelines for writing code, eg. max size of single module, max size of single function, code formatting etc.
In our company we use Eclipse as the standard Java IDE.
You can set the code formatting preferences, and import/export them to other machines. So we simple get eclipse to reformat our code before checking it into the version control system.
