Java CommAPI and HyperTerminal?

Hey, I am trying to hardcore my Java application called COMMAPI into Hyperterminal. The logic is that, my code will be connected to designated ports on my computer that can control the light system in my room. I created the app and it connects, reads, and writes data to and from the port "COM3" in question. However, i need to somehow create a Hyperterminal shortcut that run's off of the JAVA Code. I have seen this done in C already, where the code runs through Hyperterminal and it controls all the functions of the light in the room that are on COM3.
my code is as follows:
Is there anyway that i Can get the Java code to run through HyperTerminal so that it can connect to the Port ?
Thanks in Advance.

You need to connect your computer through a null modem cable. Use the hyperterminal in your second computer to link to the computer that has your java program.
then on "serialEvent" use the Data_Available criteria to get the byte streams.

  • Whats is difference between Java JRE  and  Java SDK

    Hi,
    what is the difference between Java JRE and Java SDK...
    i think both of them have the same set of files to be installed...
    I am not able to understand where they differ

    The JRE (Java runtime Environment) contains just the stuff necessary to run Java and the SDK (System Development Kit) contains the extra stuff necessary (and also helpful) to develop in Java.

  • Java SSO and IIS

    This is a repeat of this post: Java SSO and IIS
    Noone answered there.
    Hello,
    my organization uses Java SSO authentication in Oracle Application Server. Now we want to "expand" SSO so that our IIS applications can benefit from Oracle SSO and user needn't print user name / password again. Is there any way to use Java SSO in IIS? In this project we use Java SSO, not Oracle Identity Management.

  • Java SE and Java EE

    I am a IT graduate and I still need some clarification on the relationship between Java SE and Java EE API. Does EE include SE?
    For application development, I know I can use only SE without the EE, but can I use EE alone without SE?
    Any good articles addressing my questions?
    Thank you very much
    R

    Java EE in fact extends java SE, its primarily aim is to simplify developing multitier enterprise applications (Java SE provides all the necessary basic libraries etc.)
    Because Java EE is an extension of Java SE, you cant use EE without SE - without SE there is no EE.

  • Compatibility between Java crypto and open ssl

    Hello
    I have some question about compatibility between java crypto and openssl library.
    This is my case:
    1.I created DESede key and stored it to file:
    SecretKey key = KeyGenerator.getInstance("TripleDES").generateKey();
    File f = new File("c:\\key.dat");
    DataOutputStream dos =new DataOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(f));
    dos.write(key.getEncoded());
    dos3.close();2.I encrypt some file "c:\\normal.dat" through:
    ecipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, key2);
      byte[] enc = ecipher.doFinal(normalData);
      File f2 = new File("c:\\enc.dat");
      DataOutputStream dos =new DataOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(f2));
      dos.write(enc);
      dos.close();

    You have carefully left out some critical java code, namely the Cipher.getInstance() method. You'll notice in the documentation for this method that there 3 components to the "transform" argument of this method, the algorithm, the mode, and the padding. All of these must match exactly with the what openssl is using. Furthermore, if you are using one of the modes which require an IV, like CBC mode, then this must match exactly too. If you don't explicitly specify some of these parameters, you might get default values supplied. It is up to you to find out what these are.

    Below is the executable code generated using NetBeans which is enough to generate the error message. Sometimes you can get the error message just by running the program. Sometimes the error will occur when you go into the Menu and click on Item.

  • Problem with Java 5 and Oracle 10g JDBC driver

    Hi All,
    Currently we upgrade our web application to Java 5 and Oracle 10.2 JDBC driver. And we encountered a bug, when the user entered the information through UI and data didn't store into database (Oracle 9i). The problem is that this bug is not happend so often maybe once a day and this did not happen before we upgraded to Java 5 and Oracle 10.2 JDBC driver. Does anyone encounter the same problem ? Is this Java 5 problem or Oracle JDBC driver problem ?
    Thanks,

    sounds like a database problem...
    Are you using a driver version that's supported for your database engine?
    What else did you change? We once ran into a major bug in our application that had for 5 years been masked by performance problems in our hardware and infrastructure.
    Once those were resolved the bug showed itself and caused tens of thousands of records to be erroneously inserted into our database every day.
    It's certainly NOT a problem with your JVM (if it's a decent one, like the Sun implementation).
    So it's either your database, your driver, your network (dropping packets???), or your application.
    The upgrade may just have exposed something that was already there.

  • Open java app and insert text

    Hello All!
    I'm looking for a little help on an exact problem that seems to have been solved here before (but doesn't work for me).
    Here's the original archived thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2631967?start=0&tstart=0
    The question asked is exactly the same....
    I have a java app for a Speco Technologies DVR. After opening the app, you must type in a rather long url and then click connect. If you enter the url, then quit the app, when you relaunch it, it does not remember the url that had been entered the previous time.
    I would like to create a script that will launch the Java app and then input the url (text string). I cannot get this to work.
    I've gotten as far as this:
    on run
    tell application "Finder" to activate open document file "DVRVIEWER(DO_NOT_DELETE).jar" of folder "Applications" of startup disk
    delay 5
    set myString to "192.168.0.118"
    repeat with currentCharacter in every character of myString
    tell application "system events"
    keystroke currentCharacter
    end tell
    delay 0.25
    end repeat
    tell application "system events"
    keystroke return
    end run
    AppleScript has a Syntax Error of "Expected end of line, etc. but found command name."
    Does anyone ( taylor.henderson where are you! ) have a fix, or even a better way to do this? Can I edit the existing .jar to have the info directly in there?
    I would actually love to add another section in there that fills in the username and password after entering in the IP address!
    Just for clarification on how this goes:
    Launch .jar.
    Window Launches and prompts for IP address
    Enter in IP address
    Press RETURN
    Windows disappears and new window appears and prompts for username and password
    Enter Username
    Press TAB
    Enter Password
    Press RETURN
    Thank you guys, I'm sure it's easy, but hey, for me Photoshop and Illustrator are a breeze :-0

    Is it possible to use similar commands to maximize the java window?
    Yes.
    You must enable the checkbox labeled "Enable access for assistive devices" in the Universal Access System Preference pane
    Add these lines after the last line wich contains "keystroke return"
      delay 2
      tell (first process whose frontmost is true) to click button 2 of window 1 -- zoom
    Here's my test script ( the Speco camera demo), that works without problems here, I use the application "DVRJavaView4.1.jar", this script checks the existence of ui element (more reliable) rather than any delay.
    on run
         do shell script "/usr/bin/open '/Applications/DVRJavaView4.1.jar'"
         tell application "System Events" to tell (first process whose frontmost is true)
              repeat until exists window "Please Input DVR address"
                   delay 1
              end repeat
              keystroke "millapt.ddns.specoddns.net"
              keystroke return
              repeat until exists button "OK" of window 1
                   delay 1 -- wait until the login window is frontmost
              end repeat
              keystroke "user"
              keystroke tab
              delay 0.1
              keystroke "4321"
              delay 0.1
              keystroke return
              repeat until name of window 1 starts with "DVRJavaView"
                   delay 1 --wait while the login window is frontmost
              end repeat
              click button 2 of window 1 -- zoom
         end tell
    end run

  • Using java class and variables declared in java file in jsp

    hi everyone
    i m trying to seperate business logic form web layer. i don't know i am doing in a right way or not.
    i wanted to access my own java class and its variables in jsp.
    for this i created java file like this
    package ris;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class  NewClass{
        public static void main(String args[]){
            Connection con = null;
            ResultSet rs=null;
            Statement smt=null;
            try{
                Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
                con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///net","root", "anthony111");
                smt=con.createStatement();
               rs= smt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM emp");
               while(rs.next()){
                String  str = rs.getString("Name");
                }catch( Exception e){
                    String msg="Exception:"+e.getMessage();
                }finally {
          try {
            if(con != null)
              con.close();
          } catch(SQLException e) {}
    }next i created a jsp where i want to access String str defined in java class above.

    Very bad approach
    1) Think if your table contains more than one NAMEs then you will get only the last one with your code.
    2) Your String is declared as local variable in the method.
    3) You have not created any object of NewClass nor called the method in JSP page. Then who will call the method to run sql?
    4) Your NewClass contains main method which will not work in web application, it's not standalone desktop application so remove main.
    Better create an ArrayList and then call the method of NewClass and then store the data into ArrayList and return the ArrayList.
    It should look like
    {code:java}
    package ris;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class  NewClass{
        public static ArrayList getNames(){
            Connection con = null;
            ResultSet rs=null;
            Statement smt=null;
            ArrayList nameList = new ArrayList();
            try{
                Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
                con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql:///net","root", "anthony111");
                smt=con.createStatement();
               rs= smt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM emp");
               while(rs.next()){
                nameList.add(rs.getString("Name"));
               return nameList;
                }catch( Exception e){
                    String msg="Exception:"+e.getMessage();
                   </code><code class="jive-code jive-java"><font>return nameList;</code><code class="jive-code jive-java">
                }finally {
          try {

  • Use java edition and native edition at same time in a single java app

    Hi
    I have a situation where I need to use both versions of berkeley Db at the same time. I have an external library that I use that requires the Java edition and my own code that uses the native version. Unfortunately the source code of the library is not available and I don't want to redesign my program to use the Java edition.
    Some packages in je.4.0.103.jar and db.jar (version 5.1) contain the same naming structure and same classes eg. com.sleepycat.persist.EntityStore. I removed the duplicated packages in je.4.0.103.jar However it seems that the implementation is slightly different between the two version as I get
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.sleepycat.persist.EntityStore.<init>(Lcom/sleepycat/je/Environment;Ljava/lang/String;Lcom/sleepycat/persist/StoreConfig;)V
    When I simply had both versions available my code for the native version kept using the packages from the Java edition and the external library kept on using the native version and as a result I got loads of runtime errors.
    So how do I tell them apart. The problem is because both sets of packages have identical names and class names so Java does not know which ones to use. I am using eclipse so maybe there is some option where I can tell certain classes to use certain packages.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    We don't officially support using BDB and BDB JE from the same JVM process.
    It's possible to work around this limitation by creating two [url http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/lang/ClassLoader.html] Java Classloaders  that load one of the two jar files. When calling BDB or BDB JE methods, the call must be bracketed with calls like this that cause the correct classloader to be used:
    ClassLoader saveLoader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
    Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(/* specify correct loader for BDB or BDB JE here */);
    try {
       // do something with BDB or BDB JE
    } finally {
      Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(saveLoader);
    }We are not experts on classloaders and we don't have an example of doing this. We have not done it ourselves, we only know that users have done it.
    I hope this helps.

  • Compatibility issues between Berkeley DB Java Edition and Berkeley DB

    We are trying to use both Berkeley DB Java Edition and Berkeley DB (Java/C) in one of our projects. However, they share the common classes (i.e. EntryDingin.java), but with their own different impementation. Is there any reason that they have to share the same names/packages? Can we request to have the shared java classes going into different packages?
    Thanks
    Yao

    Hello Yao,
    You're correct and the DB and JE products were not designed to run under the same classloader in the same JVM. It is very unlikely that we'll be changing the package names, since that would be very disruptive and yet have no value for the overwhelming majority of users. We will note your request, however, for future reference.
    The two workarounds I know of are:
    1. Use a separate classloader for the use of each product.
    2. Use a tool such as jarjar links (http://code.google.com/p/jarjar/) to rename the packages in one or both of the products.
    Option 2 is not something we (the JE team members) have experience with, but it was used successfully by a JE user. The user also pointed out a bug in the jarjar tool to be aware of: http://code.google.com/p/jarjar/issues/detail?id=21

    Java 6 you can't as Apple maintains it, and Java 7 you could if you uninstall it and Oracle provides the earlier version which they likely won't his last update fixed 37 remote exploits.
    Java broken some software here and there, all you'll have to do is wait for a update from the other parties.

    A JSP is not the same as a Java application. A Java application has package statment, import statements, try/catch block, a JSP doesn't.

  • Was asked to install Oracle Java 8 and now after LibreOffice asked for Apple Java 6

    Hello,
    a few weeks ago I was told by a webpage I need java, it was a movie site, so I was doubting it and so I went to the oracle page via google search and found Java 8 (jre 8u40-macosx-x64).
    Today I installed LibreOffice and after first opening ittold me, that I need Java 6 and asked, if I want to search for it. I let it search. There was not the usual browser window -like thing (which I guess is the App-store, where I am offered to upgrade to 10.10 for free and told that there are 4 incompatible updates for iLife products available). Instead it was just a small progress-bar window that had the title "apple software update" (or similar).
    I then quit it, because it was not making progress.
    Now I close LibreOffice and then thought "well lets install Java 6", but this time I was not asked to install it. Also "apple software update" doesn't offer it, when I launch the blue "A"-icon (i.e. Appstore?).
    What do I need? Should I delete Java 8? How do I get Java 6?
    I found this, but it doesn't help me: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/webnotes/install/mac/mac-preferences.html and Apple Java Vs Oracle Java? Do I need both?
    THANKS!!!
    Machine: Mac Mini 2012, 10.9.5

    Thank you! In the meantime I found that item labeled as "2014-001" on the apple.support page.
    It mentions that it will remove all Java web applet and that there was a certain button one has to push to install it. I don't find the button "missing plugin" (well maybe that will come once it is needed?)
    Can Apple J6 and Oracle J8 coexist?
    From the fact that apple's J misses the web applet, I guess they will complement each other right?
    Also, am I right, that, if I go to Safari/Firefox -> Security I can disable Java for web stuff (but it will be still intact for Java applications like LibreOffice) and once I will encounter a webpage that wants Java, I will be told and can activate it in Safari/Firefox -> Security ? (Since I guess it is better to disable Java on the web???)
    Will the web sites always tell me, if they need Java or will pages not work and I will wonder why?

  • Help Needed in Creating Java Class and Java Stored Procedures

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell how can i create Java Class, Java Source and Java Resource in Oracle Database.
    I have seen the Documents. But i couldn't able to understand it correctly.
    I will be helpful when i get some Examples for creating a Java Class, Java Source and Stored Procedures with Java with details.
    Is that possible to Create a Java class in the oracle Database itself ?.
    Where are the files located for the existing Java Class ?..
    Help Needed Please.
    Thanks,
    Murali.v

    Hi Murali,
    Heres a thread which discussed uploading java source file instead of runnable code on to the database, which might be helpful :
    Configure deployment to a database to upload the java file instead of class
    The files for the java class you created in JDev project is located in the myworks folder in jdev, eg, <jdev_home>\jdev\mywork\Application1\Project1\src\project1
    Hope this helps,
    Sunil..
