    I have just upgraded BW 3.1c to NW04s SR1 release.  I am now trying to install the Java component with usage type BI java, EP and AS java.  The SCS and DB steps went in very smooth.  When i got to CI install, i got a problem with deployment of SCA files.  Basically, the install failed at the "install software units" step.  The error I have in the sapinst_dev.log is -

    Hi, I have solved this problem by delete the JAVA stack completely per the installation manual instruction like delete the unix directories and files and also delete the oracle schema SAPSR3DB and the new tablespace PSAPSR3DB and its datafiles.  One thing that the manual did not mention and i did have to delete otherwise i kept having problem is java related directories under /sapmnt/SID/global/*.   Once everything deleted, i was able to perform the installation again and it completed with out any issue.

    Hi dear Sap Technicians,
    I can't find no entries there [https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/installations|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/installations] for the JavaComp 51033521 DVD download:
    --> Entry by Application Group
    --> SAP Technology Components
    Here is the screenshot [Screenshot - Nothing there|http://www.fahrrad-Kleuskens.de/SolMan-Flase-JavaComp.JPG].
    I try to set up SolMan on a 64 bit Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 with IM_WINDOWS_X86_64 with this LABEL.ASC = SAP:WEBAS:7.00:SAPINST:\*:WINDOWS_X86_64:\* .
    Perhaps now you only can download the JavaComp DVD via a working SolMan. But my SolMan is not yet installed because of the delivered JavaComp DVD - CDLABEL.ASC = SAP NETWEAVER 2004S SR2 Java based Software Components Number 51032257 - , which is not the right one and which should be 51033521 :
    51033521_1 SAP Solution M. 7.0 SR4 Java Comp. 1 of 4
    51033521_2 SAP Solution M. 7.0 SR4 Java Comp. 2 of 4

  • Java Component using validateStandard and SystemDatabase fails to incr cntr

    I based my filter on the Dynamic Prefix, and code I found in this forum. I have a vew in my System database that I want to validate a field against on checkin, instead of loading 50K values into a combobox. The problem is that when the routine runs and the emp_num is valid (routine succeeds), the counters table is not incremented and the next check-in fails? Any help appreciated.     }

    Hey klee,
    My guess at the cause of the issue is:
    finally {
    ws.releaseConnection();
    You don't need to release the connection in a validate Standard filter since the checkin service will release the connection when it completes. Since the connection is being manually released the code that executes after the validateStandard does not have a connection to the DB and can't increment the counter. In fact I'm surprised you aren't getting an exception.
    Hope that helps,

  • The JAVA program for "Philosopher Problem"

    When I learn the book of "Operating Systems (Design and Implementation)"(written by Andrew S.Tanenbaum), I try to write a program for the "Philosopher Problem" . In the book there is a sample of this problem in C language, and I write it in JAVA. The following is my program, I have tested it. this problem is about learning how to use threads/synchronise objects etc, the efficiency of the code isn't really an issue, if that's what you mean. As for the efficiency of the solution, it's very hard to tell how efficient it is, but as long as all the philosphers get to eat there's no problem. I haven't really scrutized your code, but I'm not sure that you have a deadlock free solution: as long as it is possible for all the phils to pick up one fork at the same time there's a problem, and it seems from your code that each philosopher will pick up "his" fork. Again, I could be wrong, I haven't really looked. If you haven't come up with a solution, try drawing it on paper and working it out, or if you're lazy a quick google will probably give you the answer, but I'm pretty sure nobody here will :)

  • How do I know if I can install a JAVA component on a SAP product ?

    Dear SAP,
    I have a generic question.
    I need to know if a JAVA Component can be installed in a system.
    Let's take an example :
    ==> There is EP Core Java Component.
    ==> My question : May I install this JAVA Software Component EP Core in a SAP SRM 7.0 / NW 7.01 system ?
    I know there is http://service.sap.com/scl link which explain the content of each SAP Product and SAP Software Component.
    But how do I know if a specifif JAVA Component (example EP Core, SAP MDM Server, ...) can be installed on each SAP AS-JAVA ?
    Best regards
    CP2009

    Dear CP2009
    This information is stated in guides but a quick trick can be the following
    Go to [https://service.sap.com/sp-stacks] and click on "sp stack download" in the left pane menu.
    Then select your product version on right pane for example SP Stack SAP SRM 7.0
    This will open a popup window
    Fill in start stack and target stack (can be whatever in this case, it's just to check what usage types are available)
    On one of the next screen you will have to choose which usage types are installed.
    From that screen I can derive that for product "Portal Content SRM" or "SRM Supplier Java" you need component EP Core.
    Kind regards
    Tom

  • Calling WD Java component in WD ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    I've a requirement to call WD Java application in my custom WD Abap component.
    In Ehp4 time management module, the time recording application is designed in WD java component while Ehp5 the same appln is designed in WD ABAP.
    Now I need to call either of this application based on country grouping. For eg: If an employee belongs to US then i need to call WD ABAP component, while if an employee belongs to Canada then it should open WD Java component.
    Could you pls clarify whether we can call a WD Java application using any Class / Functional module. If yes, pls let me know
    Appreciate your help

  • BI setup: WebAS ABAP Setting - Java to ABAP communication problem

    Hello,
    i've got a problem during intallation of BI in Netweaver 2004s. The Diagnostics & Support Desktop Tool reports errors in WebAS ABAP Settings. These errors are:
    - "Web Template Validation failed due Java to ABAP communication problem (return code:ERSBOLAP018)"  with the suggested solution "Check Connector Connection of System Object in Portal System Landscape". What does it mean?
    - "Call ABAP->Java for function RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST failed for destination <destination>" and "Call ABAP->Java for function RSRD_MAP_TO_PORTAL_USERS failed for destination <destination>" with suggested solution "Check the data of the destination in transaction SM59. Check that the target host is running and has registered a program id in the gateway." Run of transaction SM59 returns no errors.
    Further i've take a look in the log 'dev_jrfc.trc' and there i found the errors:
    - Exception thrown by application running in JCo Server
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Bean RSRD_MAP_TO_PORTAL_USERS not found on host <host>
    - Exception thrown by application running in JCo Server
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Bean RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST not found on host  <host>
    - Exception thrown by application running in JCo Server
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Bean RSWR_PREEXECUTION_PROXY not found on host  <host>
    Can these errors be the cause of the WebAS ABAP Setting error displayed in the Diagnostics & Support Desktop Tool? How they can be solved?
    Thanks for your help,
    Martin

    Hello Chetan,
    thanks for your response. Maybe i've described my problem not clear enough. There is no problem of installation and usage of support & dektop tool, but of installation of BI. The support & dektop tool indicates the errors described above with no other hints. My questions is, if anybody knows, what is the cause of the errors and what i must do, to install BI correctly.
    Cheers,
    Martin

  • Has anybody created Iview from "Webdynpro Java" component in CE7.1 ?

    Hi All,
           Has anyone created Iview from Webdynpro Java component in CE7.1.
    Because the wizard that appears for creation of Iview has only "Webdynpro ABAP"
    component.There is no option to create iview from "Webdynpro Java" component.
               Althought in portal content--->Template folder i can see there is also
    another template for "SAP Webdynpro iview" which i think is for the Java scenario.
    But issue is, its not coming in the wizard.Can anyone tell me how to make it appear in the wizard ? It will be of great help to me.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ashis

    Hi Ashis,
    your deployed webdynpros are published under "web dynpro applications". just copy the webdynpro from there and paste it into the portal content section.

  • Integrate an interactive flash movie into a Java component?

    Is it possible to integrate a flash movie into a Java component? - say by shoving a certain web page into a JEditorPane (content type = html)? - even if java doesn't know anything about it?

    Theoretically... yes.
    You would have to write a java flash player... so... no - for real.
