• Java crash 64bit

I seem to be having an issue with Java 64bit with the 64bit version of windows 10. It will not allow Minecraft to load or it will not load the configure. It tells me "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working. A problem caused the program
to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." and nothing pops up after words and the program closes. this happens with the control panels. I've checked the settings in Internet Explorer to make
sure it set to run in 64bit mode. I've rebooted after making changes. I keep getting this error and I have no clue where to look for the error logs in win10.

R T F M, The installer seems to work, which is odd because it seems to just have a Microsoft bundled jvm (jre 1.8u25) built in and uses that instead. Minecraft is a Java application though, it downloads jar files when updating and I've modded it in the past.
I find it odd that none of Oracle's jvm's seem to work, but Microsoft's bundled one does, though probably not surprising. Also, the Minecraft.exe does the same thing as the installer, and still installs a Microsoft java runtime. This is quite the odd little
issue...
I got other java programs to run by:
installing java through the installer
replacing the installed java with the version installed by Minecraft (deleting the contents of the Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_40 with Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\runtime\jre-x64\1.8.0_25
That seems to work, at least for the time being, I hope there is a patch that enables java 9 to continue working, I was messing around with it, testing beta performance and the like.

I tried another machine, 64 bit of course, as I want to deploy my application on a 64bit PC, but still got the same problem.
This other machine was from HP, iCore 3 (4 CPUs) 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM and running Windows Professional 64 bit.
Now as I see it, it could be a Run-time environment mis-match error.
For this I tried installing a 64 bit LVRTE from NI, but still no sucess.
I checked DEP, for all 3 PCs and it was set to the following
Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only (first option).
I am confused. I can not find a solution for this and it is really frustrating.

But I am assuming that when I make the installer, the 32-bit Run Time Engine is appened with the installer, as show below
Since from the picture you can see its including the support installers from '\Program Files (x86)\'
The application runs queries to fetch data from database in SQL server 2008, and for that I am using a Microsoft SQL Native Client 2008 R2 64 bit ( this is the only version that installs on either PC, even the one on which I developed my LV Application).
I am not using any driver, only toolkits for reports - and for that I un-checked the "Remove unused polymorphic VI instances" when making the executable, otherwise LV throws up an exception that share variable are not being included.
Yes I did reboot every time after I ran the installation.
Still getting the same error.

• Create Dump of crashed Excel in 64bit Windows 7 when called by Winword

Hello,
we have two shared Office addins, one for Excel and one for WinWord.
The WinWord addin start Excel and open an Excel file.
Both addins are compiled using VS 2010 and C# 4.0.
Used Office is 64bit Office 2010 on 64bit Windows 7.
Now my problem is that Excel crashes when the Office addin opens a specific Excel file.
I tried to attach VS Debugger from the Excel addin solution after WinWord addin has started Excel and before open Excel File.
This worked, but the Debugger doesn't break when the Excel crash occured.
Unfortunatly no dump file is created either.
So what must I do to have at least a dump file when Excel crashes ?
tia
Hendrik Schmieder

Hi,
>> So what must I do to have at least a dump file when Excel crashes?
Would it help by using
ProcDump?
By the way, when did Excel crash, before the Add-in loading or after the Add-in loading? If it is after the add-in loading, you could also use log to identify the code caused the crashing.
For more information, you could also refer to Visual Studio Debugger Team Blog:
What is a dump, and how do I create one?
Since this question is also related to Visual Studio Debugger, so you could also consider to post this question to
Visual Studio Diagnostics (Debugger, Profiler, IntelliTrace) forum for more help.
Hope it will help.

Jeffrey

Hello,
We have had the following recurring error on different machines with Java 5, running one of our mission critical systems.
It seems to be a problem connected with AWT and "SafepointBlob" whatever that is.
Has anybody seen this kind of thing before? Does anybody know what the solution is?

• PageMaker keeps crashing in windows 8.1 (but worked fine in windows 8)

I have been using PageMaker for years and years (since it was Aldus) and never had any problems with it [better the devil you know].
I didn't think that it would work on my new laptop with 64bit Windows 8 - but it did - no problems.
Now that the system has automatically been upgraded to Windows 8.1 the program keeps crashing unexpectedly. I can start a new file, save it and start to work on it , then the program crashes AND when I re-open it it cannot open the file that was previously saved to disk !
Is there a fix or patch for this ?

Ouch !
I tried InDesign when it first came out. It was virtually unuseable. Pagemaker has been a good stalwart that WORKED (what a shock concept in toadys world).
So - you buy a BMW and use it for a few months then, when it needs a service, you take it in to the garage and they say - Sorry the manufacturers no longer support this car. They are now manufacturing the Trabbant - you will have to buy one of those

• Forms Builder 10.1.2.3 Crash in Windows 7

Followed the installation steps mentioned in metalink note: 559067.1 [How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 on Windows Vista or Windows 7 ].
Followed the installation steps till point 7.
After the installation when I tried opening the forms builder (ORACLE_HOME/BIN\frmbld.exe) it immediately crash after oracle logo with the error message "Oracle Forms Designed had stopped working"
Machine details:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Macbookpro 2012
This is urgent. Any quick help is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Lakshmanan AK

I've installed Oracle Developer Suite (ODS) 10g R2 on numerous Windows 7 systems and have only encountered an issue with Forms Builder crashing a couple of times. Each time, I've been able to resolve the problem by modifying the OS PATH environment variable to ensure there is not a conflict between Oracle versions. If you only have ODS 10g installed, this should not be a problem, but if you have different versions of Forms installed - this could very well be the problem. My you might want to take a look at the OS PATH and make sure all Windows related directories are listed first. Then list the ODS directories second and lastly, list everything else. Oracle has a bad habit of putting it's program directories before the operating system directories.
It is also possible that your installation media is bad since your install is crashing in Windows XP mode as well. That being the case, you may want to download the installer again.

Thanks for the help so far, but I still have a problem with my Merge Sort. The sort uses up all the program's memory and throws an "OutOfMemoryError".
Here is the Merge Sort:
//This is the merge sort and its methods!!!

if(line.length<=1)
return;

System.arraycopy(line, 0, half1, 0, half1.length);
System.arraycopy(line, half1.length, half2, 0, half2.length);
Sort s1=new Sort(half1);
Sort s2=new Sort(half2);
s1.mergeSort();
s2.mergeSort();
merge(half1, half2);
public void merge(int[] a, int[] b)

is there any Fix for this problem?
Thanks,
Nico

So here is the weird thing. I got this error as soon as I attempted to access the iTunes store -- then again as soon as I restarted iTunes.
Both times it errored out with the above event viewer error which was of no help:
Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 11.0.0.163, time stamp: 0x50b71fed
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000
Faulting process id: 0x1674
Faulting application start time: 0x01cdd96bd3867602
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: 178b184d-455f-11e2-a2e9-0026b97a674b
However -- on my third attempt -- it loaded up just fine and has not crashed. I was able to access the iTunes store and my library but have not actually played any files yet.
And my setup is 64bit Windows 7.
If it happens again i'll repost any extra findings but I guess I was lucky enough that the problem went away and somehow corrected itself? Very strange.

• 6.2 64bit windows end of life

What is the end of life (mainstream maintenance) for 6.2 64bit windows?

Hi Jeff,
If you check the more information tab in the PAM matrix for WebAS 6.20, you will find the following information.
+Installing the Java Add-In for SAP Web AS 6.40 in SAP Web AS 6.20
Releases 6.30 and 6.40 introduced a lot of radical changes to the Java part of the SAP Web Application Server. For example, the clustering architecture was completely overhauled and remodeled using the concepts that had proved successful on the ABAP side. With SAP Web AS Java 6.30, the supported J2EE standards switched to the popular version J2EE 1.3; at the same time, the former Java development environment was replaced by the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, which is integrated with the open-source platform Eclipse.
SAP Web AS Java 6.20 will not be maintained beyond 2006
Another important consideration was Sun’s decision to only maintain the Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.3 until the end of 2006. SAP Web AS Java 6.20 is invariably tied to this JDK, and therefore SAP will not be able to maintain SAP Web AS Java 6.20 beyond this point. Since the support for SAP Web AS 6.20 must - and will - continue until 2009 according to SAP’s general maintenance strategy, we needed to find a replacement for the Java part of this version of SAP Web AS.
We recommend using SAP Web AS Java 6.40 with SAP Web AS ABAP 6.20
For of all these reasons, we want to enable customers to upgrade from SAP Web AS Java 6.20 to SAP Web AS Java 6.40 as soon as possible. Therefore, we have decided to support combined installations of SAP Web AS ABAP 6.20 and SAP Web AS Java 6.40 as of January 2006. Consequently, we provide a new set of installation CDs/DVDs for customers who want to insert the “J2EE Add-In” into existing ABAP-only installations SAP Web AS 6.20: These CDs/DVDs are now based on SAP Web AS Java 6.40. You can download them from the Software Distribution Center at:
􀂃 http://service.sap.com/swdc 􀃆 Download 􀃆 Installations and Upgrades 􀃆 Entry by Application Group 􀃆 SAP NetWeaver 􀃆 SAP NetWeaver Components ( < SAP NW 04 ) 􀃆 SAP WEB AS
The installation requires that you have done the following:
􀂃 Installed the downward-compatible kernel for SAP Web AS 6.40 as described in SAP Note 664679,
􀂃 Installed all hot packages up to number 41, and
􀂃 Upgraded your database to a recent version (the minimum version is 7.5.0.18 for MaxDB, 9.2.0.3 for Oracle, and V8 Fixpak 7b for DB6).
The procedure for installing the J2EE Add-in is described in the "Installation Guide - SAP Web AS Java 6.40 SR1”. You will find the version for your database and operating system at:
􀂃 http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw04 􀃆 Installation 􀃆 SAP Web AS SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 and Related Documentation

• Deskjet 5550c in 64bit Windows 7

I cannot print with my DJ 5550c in 64bit Windows 7. I've un-installed & re-installed numerous times. Same with the USB001 port. After going through those steps, turning off the computer and starting it again, I get the message that USB printing support and HP Deskjet 5550 series are both ready to use, but all I get is ablank piece of paper, then the message that I need to troubleshoot. And round I go again. I see that there is a patch for the 700 & 800 series DJ's and I even tried it, but no joy.
Anyone have a fix for this?

To properly install OSB on windows 7 64 is not a walk in the park I found out, and I am still not there, but more about this later. So the steps I took are:
1. download + install 64 bit windows Java JDK (1.6.0_20)
2. downloaded and installed the generic installer weblogic + coherence (*without* OEPE unfortunately).
3. download 64 bit OEPE from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/index.html. Unzipped it in a manually created directory oepe in the weblogic installation directory (C:\bea\oepe)
4. Install the OSB by running the setup.exe from the osb installer (Disk1). During the install you can now select your OEPE directory (C:\bea\oepe in my case).
5. Start the eclipse.exe. The OSB plugins will be put in you installments automatically during startup (dropins).
So I got this all working but I have one challenge left. I created a test domain and within eclipse I created a server (Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2=10.3.3) so I could deploy projects onto this server. All went well. After this I created an OSB configuration project and an OSB project. When I tried to add this to the server I got the error Project Facet Oracle Service Bus Configuration 1.0.100 is not supported by this server This surprised me. The eclipse OSB plugins that were installed cannot create an OSB Configuration Project for the 10.3.3 version. So I cannot use eclipse to build project for the latest version. What is happening here?!? So to be continued unfortunately :-(

• EAS 11.1.1.4 crashes in Windows 7

EAS console desktop client crashes whenever I try to navigate to a local/network directory. When I go into "Find data file" and then click on My computer or documents or whatever, EAS client crashes. I have this problem only in this combination (EAS desktop and Windows 7). Desktop client works fine for Windows XP and web client works fine for both XP and Win7. I tried running the client as an admin and not as admin with the same result.
Everytime it chrashes there is new file created in the Hyperion_Home\products\essbase\eas\console\bin directory. I will post the contents of the file in a seperate post.
Anyone else has this problem? I tried to search this forum and google it, but could not find a satisfactory answer. I have launched an SR but that is a painfully slow process!!

Here are the contents of the log file (one of these is created everytime the app crashes):

• 32bit Jre on 64bit windows

Hi All,
I have a desktop app build on java 1.5 on a 32bit windows machine.
My requirements are:
1) Can my app run on 64bit windows platoform.
2) Can 32bit jre be installed on 64bit windows machine and my app can use this jre (32bit) to execute?
Please reply as soon as possible.
Thanks.

Examine [os.arch|http://pscode.org/prop/?prop=os.arch] or [sun.arch.data.model|http://pscode.org/prop/all.html?prop=sun.arch.data.model]?
I understand the first is what webstart uses to serve up natives according to the underlying hardware architecture.

• MSI x99 Gaming 7 Crashing during Windows UEFI Boot

Hello everyone,
I'm dealing with a strange problem here and i cannot seem to find any solution. Yesterday i updated my m/b bios from H.8 to H.9 and everything worked fine but 30 minutes later during some regular windows and drivers updates i restarted the machine only to find it crashing during windows loading logo when booting. I initially thought to be something about the new bios update (or windows/drivers updates) so i switched to the back-up bios ,updated it to H.8 (which i was using before) and did a quick format but the problem still occurs.
I pinpointed the problem to be something in the bios (bios update resets settings to defaults both when i updated to H.9 for the main bios & H.8 for the backup bios) and the UEFI settings for windows 8.1 since it doesn't occur when i disable the "Windows 8/8.1 Feature". What exactly does this feature do? The only difference i saw was the loading logo , now i see MSI red/black picture with the small circle-dots loading instead of a Black screen with white MSI logo if i enable the feature.
My system is new (three months old) and i never had any crash or lock-up anywhere (nor it is overclocked). All settings in the bios are default except the "Boot Mode Select" is UEFI and the "MSI Fast boot" is enabled. Windows 8.1 64Bit are installed in UEFI mode.
-MSI X99 Gaming 7
-Intel I7 5820k + Corsair H110
-G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 16GB
-Gigabyte 970 G1 Gaming SLI
-Samsung 850 Pro 256GB
-EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2

Ok ,seem to have some updates:
First of all i was wrong about the SATA ports i was using (my second GPU blocks the view of the ports).
- SSD was connected to SATA3 while the other two HDD's to SATA10 & 9
I first disabled Samsung RAPID mode (you never know). Then i changed the SSD from SATA3 to SATA1 port and didn't connected the other 2HDD's at all. Enabled the "Windwos 8/8.1 feature" & Secure Boot and quickly did 4-5 restarts from the bios and from Windows, even a cold boot. No crashes but i need to do more reboots to make sure it doesn't occur any more. Then i will connect the other two HDD's and check for crashes.
Update#1 . Ok my other two HDD's are connected to SATA ports 3 & 4. After 3-4 restarts & 2 cold boots everything seems fine , no crashes at all. I don't know if maybe after 10 restarts it will occur but i'm confident enough that it should already be present now. So it seems that either Samsung Rapid Mode is responsible or the other SATA ports.
Update#2 . So Samsung Rapid Mode seems to work fine, again no crashes at all. This is getting really weird. So that leaves me with the Sata ports ,now i don't know if i need to change again sata ports to recreate the problem or leave it as it is (working) but then again if it's indeed the SATA ports then maybe something is faulty. Either way i'll check it. :/
Update#3 . I think i came to a conclusion. SATA ports 7-10 seem to have the problem.
- I reconnected everything to the original ports i was using (SSD to SATA3 and 2xHDD's to SATA10 & 9) .The crash happens the second time i restart the PC.
- Moved SSD to SATA1 , crash happens again at the second boot.
- Moved the 2xHDD's to SATA 7&8 ,crash happens at first boot.
- Moved the 2xHDD's to SATA 3&4 . NO Crash occurs.
I have no idea what's going on, the manual states that SATA 7-10 support only IDE mode and AHCI (SATA 1-6 supports RAID 0,1,5,10). For the record i do not use RAID.
So what is the problem? I didn't have any issues at all with the previous configuration. Did any of the SATA port's became faulty when using the "Windows 8/8.1 feature" after the bios update? Should i ask for a replacement?
The last thing i could try is to unistall the Intel Rapid Storage. MSI's drivers site for this m/b has the 13.1.0.1058 version while Intel has 13.6.0.1002 but they do not work as it says platform is not supported. I have the MSI's version installed all this time.
