Java doesn't work on safari / xp

Downloaded the latest Safari, 5.1.7, for Windows XP
Downloaded the latest Java, JRE as well as tried JDK, 7.04 and configured for IE and Safari.
Java.com test works on IE, but on Safari, refers to
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JavaFX 2.1 Runtime\bin\server\jvm.dll
There is no server directory, nor any jvm.dll anywhere in the Oracle install.
What's wrong??

Ok, 3 days and no responses. I guess Java doesn't work on Safari/XP. Time to switch...

Since I've installed the latest java version, my browser stop running Java plugin. I cannot access my bank account etc.
PS.: I already have unistalled the Java an installed again, twice; I shutted down my computer, I restarted the browser... And, YES, java is activated on preferences panel.
I don't know what to do anymore.

CMD+ any shortcut doesn't work in Safari after upgrading to Yosemite

After upgrading from Mavericks to OS X Yosemite 10.10 not a single CMD+ shortcut works?!
For example CMD+tab works (switching between apps), ctrl+tab works (switching between tabs), but none of these work: CMD+W, CMD+Q, CMD+F, CMD+C, CMD+X, CMD+P...
They all work perfectly fine in all other apps. It's just Safari.
Does anyone have any idea why and how to fix this?

I have a similar pb :
CMD+SHIFT+1,2,3,... doesn't work in safari.
I'm using "English interface" with "French keyboard".
following miladc advice and link (Shortcuts not working on Safari and Firefox),
I changed my Language pref to French ... so I got "French interface" with "French keyboard" ... and it worked once !!!!
But it works no more ... very weird
All I want to do, it's having shortcut for my bookmarklet !

Just a tip if you happen to be using Mac OS. It appears that the License Agreement
page doesn't work using Safari. Works fine with Camino, though.

Hello Friends,
why java & flash is not working in safari?
I have checked Java preferences, tab called general tab, and the checkboxes, both checked. java version run on the termial & it confirmed java by displaying it's version. running perfect.
The problem is java & flash not working in safari, might be because of , so?
when ever i open sites like web design company for project i wasn' t able to open such sites...
kindly guide me for the same.

Flash is totally unrelated to Java, so what you're saying is that certain plugins are not working under Safari of which one just happens to be Java. You're the second one I see make mention of that, but the fact remains that you'd need to ask Apple what is going on with their browser.

XMLhttprequest doesn't work in safari

i have a website and it works fine in Internet Explorer, but the website doesn't work in Safari.
i use xmlhttprequest to get data from the database and that data i want to put in an selectbox.
i have multiple selectboxes and the first one i don't use ajax to get the data and that one works fine. but as soon as i use ajax it doesn't work anymore in safari.
this is the function i call to get the data.

it works. there were some problems with the select box. the way it was created didn't work in safari and chrome. but now it does

Open Terminal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and type
java -version
press 'return' on the keyboard.
Either
1. You get a version number for Java, in which case enable Java in
Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences.app
Or
2. You get an installer window pop up. After clicking through and installing that, enable Java as in 1. above.

Paypal button doesn't work on Safari. but works on Firefox

I have over 100 pairs of "Add to Cart" buttons on my website. One of each is on the individual item page and the other is on my Order Form.
I have one button that works on the order form, but the identical button doesn't work on the individual page when using SAFARI, but works when I use FIREFOX!
I have recreated the button several times and put it in the proper place several times, saved the changes and republished. Still it doesn't work in Safari!
This must be a Safari issue not a PayPal issue

If you're talking about using Flash on your iPod, you can't. There is no version of Flash that will work on any iOS device. If you're talking about using Flash on your computer, you may want to repost in the correct forum.

HT5655 Flash still doesn't work with Safari.

I've done this repeatedly. Flash still doesn't work with Safari. It does work with Firefox and Chrome.
I deleted the Flash plugin from Library>Internet Plugins. That didn't solve the problem either.
What can I try next? Thanks.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Java is not working in safari

Since the last update of safari I have been experiencing problems with websites that use Java. Many say "missing plugin" and the one that I ant to use badly -

to download the latest Sync software for my truck doesn't work at all.
I have tried:
trashing (renaming, really)
com.apple.safari.plist
com.apple.java.javapreferences.plist
com.apple.java.pluginsettings.plist
with no results.
I even tried installing Java 7 v25 from the java site with no luck.
Any suggestions?

I have found since my above post that Apple has removed support for the Java Plugin2 in the Java Update 10 for OS X 10.5, so it won't come back.

The only way to get Java running with Firefox is use a parallel installation of a Firefox version that supports the Java Embedding Plugin and start that version for sites that require Java.<br />
I don't know if the latest release of Firefox 3.6.x on Mac still has the embedding Java plugin.

I installed Java manually from the apple web site. however when I open a web page that runs java application the page doesn't work. I had trouble initially intalling java automatically, I got a dialog box saying that I was not connected to the network. How can I get run Java correctly in my computer?

When you use Google Chrome (uses it's own Java), you get this message in a separate window:
The requested resource (/finans/header.jsp) is not available.
Also tried it with Internet Explorer 8 in Windows XP. It doesn't works the same as Safari there:

With that issue, the most common problem is that drive C: is
not the hard drive. FP is hard-coded to C: and won't dl to another
letter.

Java doesn't work correctly

With Safari 3.1.1 et FireFox 5.0 on the web often connections using Java do not work , and i get the message :
UnsatisfiedLinkError: GetProxyConfigURL
I can't found "ProxyConfigURL" on the web, and after I have reinstalled Java, it's the same message!
If any of you know what I'm talking about please help.
