  • Download Pull-Down Menu in Web App Olive ActivePaper Daily 4.0 No Longer "Works" in Firefox 10

I have a paid subscription to the online edition (aka "e-edition") of the Raleigh News & Observer, http://www.newsobserver.com/. In Firefox 10, I am no longer able to download the pdf of the paper; the download pull-down menu in web app "Olive ActivePaper Daily 4.0" no longer "works" in Firefox 10 on Win XP or Win 7. This was not a problem in Firefox 9 and earlier. The pull-down menu continues to "work" in IE8. A valid username & password is required to do the download. The ''only ''change made to my Windows XP system was the upgrade from Firefox 9 to Firefox 10.

The thread "Keynote Cancelled Shutdown: how do I troubleshoot?" has recently posted a possible solution but is there an explanation or a fix planned?

  • Failed to download java download client

Trying to get a webex meeting going w/new firefox 4 install, I get:
"Failed to download java download client!
Sorry, you do not have java download client enabled. Please try again or inform your Site Administrator to set up for you. "
There is no site administrator, it's my Mac so I'm it. ;) I've googled it and I see nothing on how to turn this on. Basically you can try and start a webex meeting here:
    http://www.webex.com/lp/jointest/
That also chokes with the same error. Works with Firefox 3.x no problems... but with firefox 4 no dice. Probably some simple setting I'm missing... can someone give me a clue?

    Workaround:
Find your Firefox application in Finder, right click on it, click on "File Info", select 32-bit mode, and restart Firefox.

You are not alone - I have exactly the same problem. It sort of 'crept up on me' - downloads were at first slow, then they never completed, then the only way to quit was to force quit. It happens on several accounts loading from different servers, so is not a single email blocking up the system. Unfortunately, I have no simple answer!
I have been all this forum, trying whatever I can find - trashing this and that file - rebuilding - fixing permissions (take a look, it is discussed in several places) - even reinstalled the system from disc (10.5.4, then updated to 10.5.8)... That has worked for some people, but not me.
I will do a clean reinstall once I get back to my office from travels
    Good luck

  • Message Driven Bean with Java Message Queue down

I have the following problem deploying my application.
It uses JMS and a remote openMQ for communication between servers. The problem is that the connection is not fully reliable so it can be up or down. For reconnecting I set the jms reconnect glassfish property so it reconnects if at some moment the connection gets lost. The problem arises when i try to deploy the application and there is no connection. It looks like it keeps retrying the connection but the application does not finish deployment until connection is available.
Is it possible to configure it in any way that the deployment continues even if there is no connection and keeps retrying until there is connection available?
    Thanks a lot.
    Approach 1
I'm trying to run the MDB initialization in a different thread. I tried both
I'm trying to assign a different thread to the MDB by two ways changing sun-ejb.jar.xml
            <bean-pool>
                <steady-pool-size>1</steady-pool-size>
                <resize-quantity>1</resize-quantity>
                <max-pool-size>1</max-pool-size>
                <pool-idle-timeout-in-seconds>60</pool-idle-timeout-in-seconds>
            </bean-pool>and also with
<use-thread-pool-id>a-new-thread-pool</use-thread-pool-id>But I had no luck. Looks like it's waiting for this thread to end since it looks like it's getting the new thread but it waits for that thread to end to finish starting application so, in my case, application doesn't get deployed correctly..
    Approach 2
I tried to run jms service in a different thread also...
asadmin create-resource-adapter-config --threadpools a-new-thread-pool jmsraNo luck

You could try the JMSJCA resource adapter ( [https://jmsjca.dev.java.net/|https://jmsjca.dev.java.net/] ) ; this is expressly designed to allow a MDB to be deployed even though the MQ broker is not available. It will then try to establish the connection in a background thread.

  • Installing java download manager & java

Hi, I'm trying to download the latest version of Java, for which I'm told I need the Download Manager first...I'm a Mac owner. I can't run Download Manager, after downloading it, because I need to choose an application to run it, and I have no clue how to proceed. I'd so appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

I believe that you need to go here http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/java/ for Java compatible with Apples. The downloads from Sun are only for Windows/Linux/Solaris

  • Java downloads?

I am fairly new to java programming, and am wondering exactly what I need to download to compile and run java programs using a command prompt. I do it at school, but would also like to be able to do it at home. What package do I need?

You need the Java SE Development Kit.
Links to it, and an explanation of what to do once you get it are available in the ["Hello World"|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/win32.html] chapter of Sun's Tutorial.
(This assumes you are using Windows; you don't say. Linux instructions are near by.)

  • Which Java download needed for SQL Developer

I am running Windows 7 Professional, (64) and have downloaded and unzipped sqldeveloper64-3.2.20.09.87-no-jre.zip. When I execute sqldeveloper.exe I enter this path to the Java JDK: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_37\bin\java.exe and a message responds:
    Oracle SQL Developer
Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine Located at path C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_37\bin\msvcr71.dll
I am going with a 32 bit version of Java because I use Chrome (32) and the 1.6 JDK because the SQLDev info says it must be south of 1.7. The last time I installed SQLDev getting the right version of Java was a big pain too. Could someone give me then name of the package to download and the URL to access it?
    The jdk I installed: jdk-6u37-windows-i586.exe.
I would have hoped that Oracle bundled the SQLDev with the Java.
Your help would be much appreciataed.

    Hi,
I would have hoped that Oracle bundled the SQLDev with the Java.Note that the very first download offered is Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_35 (also 32-bit). See here...
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
    Since you opted to
downloaded and unzipped sqldeveloper64-3.2.20.09.87-no-jre.zipyou are expected to specify a 64-bit JDK, which gets installed to
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_37\binrather than
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_37\binThe basic rules:
    1. 32-bit JDK/App on 32-bit Windows;
    2. 32-bit JDK/App (runs under WoW64) or 64-bit Java/App on 64-bit Windows.
