Java_es-5-websuite-ga-windows-x86 installation issue not setting JAVA_HOME

looks like the installer from java_es-5-websuite-ga-windows-x86.zip is not setting the JAVA_HOME variable correctly.
C:\Sun\JavaES5\DSEE\dscc6\bin>dsccsetup.exe initialize
Failed to create child process ["1/bin/java.exe" -Dsun.directory.clip. [...]

Sorry for the late response. Do you need the other components provided by JES? If not, I suggest installing DSEE from the zip installer which can be downloaded separately. If you have to use JES and the problem is still not resolved, please log a case with Sun.

  • Need to create, build, or obtain the Windows 7 INSTALLATION media, not the recovery stuff

I want to be able to install Windows 7 on a Thinkpad WITHOUT all the factory installed stuff.  I DO NOT NEED the recovery image "solution" that comes preinstalled on the laptop.  I need to be able to create a clean Windows 7 installtion that we can image and deploy without the preloaded stuff.
Basically, is there a way, and if so, how do I create a Windows 7 INSTALLATION  media, not the recovery stuff? If this can't be done, do I need to purchase the media from Lenovo?  An example of what I'm looking for:  Dell makes it very easy to do this. You can create the Windows 7 installation media. Just like the Windows XP and 2000 CD/DVD's they used to ship.
I have searched and can't find anything the addresses this.
    Solved!

I'm taking a guess that you're looking for a vanilla Win 7 installer download.  As sarbin said, if that's not your issue, please start another thread.  (At least this will update that stale link - for a while.)
The content in that link got pulled a while back.
Here's a fresher link that still works (for how long, who knows...)  Even includes SP1.
Default Legal Download: Windows 7 with SP1, 13 languages
These are Microsoft installer DVD ISOs that still require activation.  If you choose one that matches the COA on the target machine (home premium, pro, ultimate), they can be activated with that COA.  it will require phone activation.

  • Windows 7 installation will not recognise the Bootcamp disc!

I have a 2008 Macbook running Snow leopard.
Installed Win 7 via bootcamp but when I insert the Mac Snow Leopard disc to install the Bootcamp drivers etc after the Win 7 install has succeeded, the Windows 7 installation will not recognise the disc!
    Any ideas
    Thanks in advance

If you used your Leopard DVD then it won't work.
As ScuseMe said only the OSX Snow Leopard DVD contains the drivers for Windows 7.

  • Windows 7 installation issues (0x8007005)

I recently added a SSD in the optical bay of my unibody macbook pro and am currently trying to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it.
If I go to run the installer from my Windows 7 installation on my disk drive through the optical drive connected through usb I get an error 0x8007005 Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.  The same issue occurs when I try to run the installation from an iso loaded on a usb stick. I have tried running the setup through setup.exe /tempdrive:d where d is the ssd with no success.  I have uninstalled bootcamp as suggested also.
As an alternative if I run the installer from either bootcamp assistant in OSX or try booting from the cd the screen goes black and it never proceeds with any prompts.
    Thanks for the help

I'm not a Windows or Boot Camp expert - although I do run XP on the Parallels VM - but I think that you're going to have to use Boot Camp to install Windows 7, even on a secondary drive. I just don't think that Windows is going to see any drive in a Mac as a c or d drive, even though you may have formatted the SSD in your optical bay for Window.
I've not run the Boot Camp Assistant since 2006 and I'm sure that some things have changed. And I've never tried to install it on a second drive.
You might want to try asking your question in one of the OS forums - I don't know that there's a Boot Camp forum (and I did take a quick glance).

    Hi,
I've just download the jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe and jdk-6u30-windows-x64.exe and tried install them on my window 7 professional service pack 1 platform, but both installations failed with the error message "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application" and "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application". However, when I install with the jdk-6u26-windows-x64.exe and jdk-7-windows-x64.exe, it's fine. Please help me how to fix the issue to update the new java package.

  • Satellite A200-23W: Windows Vista installation issue

    Hi..
I now that this subject is discussed many times before, but after trying a lot of the solutions of the forum and some of my one, I have reached a level that it makes no sense...
First off all I would like to explain that what i do for a living it has to do with IT and that is what it makes it even more tempting to me.
2 days ago a bought a A200-23W Toshiba. The first thing i always do when i buy a new laptop is to format it and install a clean Windows OS.
I realized after my first attempt that I have to install first of all the Matrix Storage Driver.
I have downloaded the driver from toshiba site related to my model. (Intel Matrix Storage Manager-7.5.0.1017).
I have created a usb with the required files for the driver :
    iaAhci.inf,
    iaAhci.cat,
    iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,
    iaStor.sys, and
    TxtSetup.oem
from the (F6flpy) folder of the (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) copying them to the root of the USB.
When the "Where you want to Install windows" form at windows vista appear i select load driver, and then by Clicking (Browse), I select the USB as a source for my drivers.
The (Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller) automatically appears as a selection and by clicking (Next) the process of driver installation starts.
    So far so good..
Now is where the things are getting complicated..
When Vista return to the "Where you want to Install windows" form, even that my system has 2 x 200 GG HDD only one 200 GB HDD appears in the list..
Selections of "New" Partition or "Delete" Partition are disabled.
and even when i click "Next" to the selected HD a windows message appears :
"Windows could not determine if this computer contains a valid system volume"
    I would appreciate your help..
    Thank you in advance..
    George P.

it seems i can't find any installation details about the Robson Package inside the zip file or the European site..
All the readme inside have the same content..
"...This installer does not contain a valid readme
file. Please obtain the valid readme file(s) from the
software site this installer was downloaded from."
And at the europian site the downloaded page :
".....For details please check the included help file"

I am trying to install Windows 8 on my TouchSmart 600-1305t PC (Product #: XL730AV#ABA ).
The problem is that my computer does not recognize the Windows 8 installation DVD I purchased. Is there a solution to this problem? I would ideally like to dual boot the operating systems at startup. Thank you for your help.

  • Windows 7 installer disc not recognised

I'm running a mac mini 3.1 with 10.6.8. When the bootcamp assistant asks for the windows 7 installer disc, it is not recognised and ejects.
The disc can be read by my Macbookpro however, and the mac mini reads other discs. Do I need other drivers , is the mini even compatable?

Redownload and burn it at a slower setting in Disk Utility.

  • Windows TEMP viariable is not set??

    Hi to all,
I got the following problem with transaction PB60.
If I want to print or edit word documents, it works all fine in SAP GUI. If I use this transaction over SAP WebGui (Internet Transaction Server), I got an error that the TEMP Windows variable is not set.
Well, I don't understand that error. First, the variable TEMP is set and secondly it works in SAP GUI, so why is it not working with SAP Transaction Server?
We are working on SAP ERP 2004.
    Help would be rewarded!
    Regards,
    Frank

I have done that and can also see this parameter in windows (and have restart my client). Although the error is still there.
By the way, I have read in customizing help, that you have to set a environment variable called "Path_to_codepage" which should normally be there when installing SAP Gui. In my case, it is not there so I will proove this...
    Any other ideas?

  • Windows 8 Installation Issue on HP Touchsmart 600

I have been having this issue all day long and cannot figure out a fix! I turned to this website because I didn't think that it would be feasable for somone on Microsoft's side to help me, but I have Windows 7 currently installed and am just trying to do an upgrade. It is  my work computer, so there is no way that I can do a full restore , so that is out of the equation. When installing Windows 8, it completes the installation as normal, but when it goes to do what I assume is the first boot up, it takes me to this screen and it says, oops, something went wrong during the installation. Windows 7 is being restored on your computer... And it is back to boring ole' Windows 7 for me. Can anybody provide me with some sort of solution or easy fix. I'm sort of computer savvy, so I might understand some things, but if the solution is really difficult, you might have to get basic with me. LOL
Thanks in advance for the help guys, I would truly appreciate it.

  • Windows 7 Installation Issue

Hi there, my apologies if this has been answered somewhere - but I'm unable to find the same issue and a fix.
I'm trying to install windows 7 on my 2012 mba using a superdrive and oem windows 7 disk - not an .iso.  Following bootcamp assitant instructions, I've downloaded the drivers to an external usb drive, and after the partition portion the computer shuts down.  When it powers on, I get a blinking cursor in the upper left.  This does not change  after 10 mins of waiting.
I rebooted, holding option and selected the windows cd to boot from - says it's unable to find the boot manager?
Based on all the information I'm finding - it should simply boot into the windows installation?
Has anyone encountered this?  Any possible solutions?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Dan

Just to be clear - is the disk labeled Asus or HP etc or do you know it came with a new PC? Up through Win7 Microsoft sold an OEM version that was supposed to be sold only to people who were building their own computer but lots of resellers sold them to anyone. These so-called OEM disks weren't tied to specific hardware and it is what I own. (I got mine from Newegg along with a mobo, case, and CPU.) If your DVD is of this variety it should work and yes, I'd try making an ISO. I've not installed Win7 with BootCamp on my MBA (though I have on my iMac) and from my understanding it's assumed you're doing it with an ISO. However, if the DVD did come from a PC manufacturer, it is failing because it is looking for something that marks the computer as a specific model from that manufacturer and not finding it.

  • Windows 7 Installation issues

    Hi,
I am sure the answer to my question is out there somewhere but this issue seems to have been a very big one at the launch of Windows 7 and so there is a lot of fluff on the internet about it.
    I just put together a brand new computer it contains;
    MSI Z77A-G45 Main Board
    Intel i5-3750K
8 Gigs RAM in slots 2+4
Corsair 120GB Neutron SSD connected to one of the two Sata 6GB ports
DVD drive connected to one of the 4 Sata 3GB ports
Gigabyte 660 TI OC vid card.
The problem. Whether using a dvd or usb the installation says its missing the dvd driver and will not continue.
    I have tried:
    Flashing the bios with newest
Putting all updated drivers from the msi site on usb and seeing if they are the drivers that win7 needs
Switching which Sata ports the devices are connected to
disconnecting the dvd drive entirely (driver need still comes up, think it means sata driver)
switching USB port once installation setup loaded (internet suggestion)
I have a valid windows 7 key, but have to install from an iso.
I don't know what else to do other than continue to redownload 3gb+ windows 7 iso's in case they are getting corrupted.
    Please help.

If you used the usb to install the os, the dvd driver wouldn't matter.
Re-download the Win 7 from Microsoft then use the tool below to prepare a usb stick. Then boot from the usb and install windows.

  • P31 Neo V2 (MS-7392) & Windows 7 installation issue(s)

    Hi,
    I have a P31 Neo V2 (MS-7392) with a QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, 2833 MHz (8.5 x 333) and 2GB of Ram.
On windows xp the system runs and installs fine.
Now, I want to install a legal copy of Windows 7, but the install locks up.
Starting install works, can create the partition, can select OS language etc. Then install starts to copy windows files, still all is fine.
After this bit, the extracting of files starts, and eventually stalls. The whole machine freezes!
After reading through a load of internet pages, I have figured out that all peripherals need to be disconnected (USB, additional PCI cards, etc), which I did... restart of installation same issue.
Doing some more read work... loads of people have issues with the AHCI of the SATA drives. Turn it off, they say.
unfortunately... I cannot find the option to disable the AHCI in the bios... it's just not there!
I hope someone else can help me out on finding the option... but... probably I cannot use this MB with Windows 7, unless MSI comes up with the option to disable AHCI.
Yes, I know AHCI greatly improves performance on the SATA drives, but for now... I'd like to install Windows 7 and start testing it on my system, for future use in the company. You know, testing of all applications written still work, etc, etc.
    Help is being appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Arjan

What is your current BIOS Version?

Your are definately on the wrong track here.  The P31 Neo V2 has an ICH7 Chipset which does not even support AHCI.  But even if it did support AHCI, this would definately not be the cause of your problem because usually, when people have a problem with the Controller in AHCI Mode, the problem is related to Windows XP only (it does not include any AHCI Drivers) or that fact that the generic Vista or W7 AHCI Drivers are not good enough to ensure flawless operation.  All of these issues can be solved by integrating the proper Intel AHCI Drivers for the SATA Controller.  But again:  Your board does not support AHCI but the Intel ICH7 SATA Controller runs in IDE/Compatibility mode.  There are no drivers available (or needed) for this operating mode.

unless MSI comes up with the option to disable AHCI.
All MSI Desktop Mainboards I know of (that support AHCI Mode) have an option to enable or disable this mode in BIOS.  Your board does not have such an option because the chipset does not support it in the first place.  The cases you read about probably have to do with certain notebooks that are sold with a preinstalled Vista version.  The problems usually occur when people decide to install Windows XP without being aware that XP does not include any AHCI Drivers.

    The whole machine freezes!
There are a number of possible explanations for that.  A memory problem is often something that causes the system to freeze.

  • Windows 7 Installation Issue Resolved

Hi if anyone is running into problems installing CS4 on a Windows 7 machine (Which some are) there's nothing online about how to fix this, here i've detailed what my problem was and how i managed to fix it. Basically the problem would occour if you've modified your document locations in windows, this would stop the installation in its tracks with no relevant error message given from the installer.
See the blog post for more info

I changed the drive letter to the correct letter which is now E:/ in all of the entries in my Windows registry, I had manually changed this drive letter in windows many months before CS4 was even near the system, so perhaps it was an Windows Installer bug?
It was obviously looking at the wrong path, realising it didn't exsist then just failing the install process.

    Hello,
The first “Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation” is related to permissions to the registry keys. Please provide full permissions
    on the following registry key:
    SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
Please note that SQL Server 2008 requires Service Pack 3 (SP3) to make it compatible with Windows 8.1. Please perform
an slipstream installation of SQL Server 2008 + SP3:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955392
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
