Java.exe crash with MS Application Verifier

Dear Java users,
I developed a Java application to be deployed on windows server 2003. But when run the application with Application Verifier to check for runtime resource handling, the java.exe crashed with messsage: java.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I tried several times with JRE1.4 and 1.5 but get the same result.
Any advice should be appreciated.
Thanks.

  • Java.exe crashing with Dr Watson access violation at address 500bf974

We have been sucessfully runing an application delveloped with JDK 1.2.2 on a Pentium III machine with Windows NT 4 SP5 (384Mb RAM). I have replaced the Pentium III machine with a pentium 4 with 1Gb RAM (still running NT4 SP5). In fact, I simply took the HDD out of the PIII and installed it in the P4.
All applications work correctly (Sybiz Vision, MS Office 97 suite), however, when I go to run the java application is crashes and a Dr Watson Access Violation in java.exe error is generated.
    I have:
    1. Reinstalled the JDK 1.2.2.
    2. Confirmed that all hardware drivers (new NIC, Video and Sound Card) were updated with the appropriate versions from the hardware suppliers web pages.
    3. Read thru previous posts on this site (and others) for similar errors, but have only been able to find similar questions.
    4. Lowered the video card display colours to 256 rather than 65,536.
None of the above have made any difference.
I hope this question will prompt the java/Dr Watson gurus out there to help me resolve this frustrating problem.
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Greg

Consider getting 1.2.2_014, or whatever is the latest version of 1.2.2. I think there were some issues with Pentium IV processors which were fixed in one of the later incarnations of the JDK.
You can get the latest version of 1.2.2 from the following url:
    http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/download.html

  • Java.exe crashes with windows access exception

When OracleASHome102HTTPServer starts I get a Win2000 access exception c0000005 on java.exe. Little DrWatson window pops up... O9i logs Logs show nothing. Only drwatson shows problem info, assembler dump, ets...
    Anyone know what's wrong? I've got O9iAS 1.0.2.0, Win2000SP1, Pentium 4, 1.4GHz, 512Mg RAM?
I know there is a problem with the jre JIT compiler on the P4. Got around this during O9iAS installation by using the '-nojit' parameter on all invocations of jrew.exe and jre.exe. Is my java.exe problem still with the P4 chip?

    solution
I have solved the problem, and the method as follows:
    1.look for the dll file:symcjit.dll(the path is %oracle_home%\Apache\jdk\jre\bin) ,
    2.change the extension to .old
    3.restart the httpServer
    4.ok
try it,and hope you good luck

  • Java.exe crash on P4 machine

Is anyone aware of issues with running jdk1.2.2_008 or later on Pentium 4 machines?
I installed a app server on Windows 2000 on my home machine and when I try and start it, a Windows popup window appears saying java.exe has generated errors. Where should I look for a more detailed error message?
The software runs fine on my laptop running 2000 and the only major difference I can think of is the Pentium 4 architecture.
    Any help appreciated!

Have you found a solution to this problem? I am running java applications on numerous IBM desktops (not P4's)running Windows 2000, but have tried installing JDK1.2.2_006 on a Dell desktop with P4 processor and java.exe aborts with exception nr c0000005 (access violation). I have been cussing Dell, but is it the P4?

  • Explorer keeps crashing with ntdll.dll, verifier.dll, msvcrt.dll and combase.dll errors

    Hi all,
I just bought my laptop a few weeks ago. Initially explorer only crashed (with the ntdll.dll error) when I had a lot of folders open, or when I was transferring stuff. But now I cannot open any folders at all without it crashing with the verifier.dll error.
This doesn't happen in safe mode.

Would you please download explorer.exe.3432 from my skydrive and analyse it for me? Thank you so much for your help.

  • Java applet crashing with Workgroup Managed machines

    Hi,
One of my clients uses a Java-based online proofing system for their publications which consistently crashes. We have narrowed the problem to machines that are or have been under Workgroup Management (the problem persists even after machines are unbound). We have eliminated other culprits such as Netinstall, Radmind, browser and Java versions and so on. The applet consistently gives the following output in console log (where the reference to the display profile is specific to that machine):
2008-11-10 13:54:03.239 Safari[672] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x55a68c0 of class NSView autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
2008-11-10 13:54:03.239 Safari[672] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x67d13f0 of class NSConcreteValue autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
2008-11-10 13:54:03.240 Safari[672] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x40c140 of class NSCFNumber autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
2008-11-10 13:54:03.240 Safari[672] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x4ee7e0 of class NSConcreteValue autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
2008-11-10 13:54:03.240 Safari[672] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x6727190 of class NSCFDictionary autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking
    2008-11-10 13:54:03.243 Safari[672] Path /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/GENDISP7.icm
And when the applet finally crashes we get this:
    2008-11-10 13:44:43.004 Safari[672] * Assertion failure in -[NSViewHierarchyLock unlockTopMostReader], AppKit.subproj/NSViewHierarchyLock.m:444
The most conclusive test I performed was taking a machine that had never been bound to the server. The applet worked fine with no console log output. As soon as I bound it to the server, the above started happening. I have also found the problem in Tiger and Leopard networks. I have tried obvious stuff like re-creating the display profile.
Has anyone else seen anything like this? Or can anyone suggest where to look?
    Thanks,

Java Preferences should be in Applications > Utilities.
    Check the boxes to enable.
I'll refer you back to the earlier posts of that thread for restting the browser plug-ins.

  • OSX Crash with AIR application

    Hello,
We have developed an AIR client that communicates with a REST API to display information to users. The application itself runs just fine in most situations except for one, on OSX against a particular server, the app will regularly crash shortly after launch.
I believe the problem with this server, is that it does redirects to get the request to the proper url. In this case, if the AIR application connects to
http://myserver.example.com, our server will redirect it to https://myserver.example.com.
The other redirect scenario is for when the client is being run inside of our network, typing http://myserver.example.com is redirected to http://myserver
I believe these redirects are happening for every request the application sends out to the server.
When the client is set to talk directly against the correct url (either https://myserver.example.com externally or http://myserver internally) we do not see the crash on OSX. Also, it would appear that windows does not have this problem.
So, as far as I can tell, there is something going on with the redirects being done in the Flex libraries that is causing this crash?
Can anyone provide any more insight into this problem?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

There's an in-browser API that you can use to install and invoke an AIR app. (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappsflex/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7e15. html). Once launched, you can use the LocalConnection class, or Sockets in AIR 2, to communicate between your browser app and your AIR app (http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/flash/net/LocalConnection.html).

  • Get output of java.exe within C/C++-Application

    Hello together,
I want to call java.exe from a C-program and get
the console output of java.exe to display in a
    MessageBox.
    How can I achieve this?
I would be very happy if I found a solution here...
    Best regards
    Christian

Happy, but you should be surprised. You have asked a C programming question, namely "I want to call another program from code in the C language and get its console output to display in a MessageBox". No doubt there are people who read these forums and who know C, but it wasn't the best choice.

There are a few similiar reports i've come across on the web, most centering around the .NET frameworks in use, invalid configs etc., but i've been unable to pinpoint anything specifically wrong.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

I was really trying to avoid a full OS reinstall, but I can't find a solution to either situation.
An Answers poster recently had an
apparent problem with DISM.exe being corrupted. Evidently an sfc /scannow   either didn't notice it or try to fix it.  I wondered about trying sfc /scanfile= on it. If you are about to rebuild it surely could not hurt to perform that experiment
with your two devmgmt.msc files first?
You could check them for length using a modification of the Powershell pipeline we used...

Whoa.  I wasn't expecting that.  All the same size?  Looks like the first pipeline we used which ended with  fl  *  would be more useful.  There are only 8 items so it wouldn't be too much output.
Also, that shows there might be another copy that you could use anyway (e.g. which might not be corrupted as much as the one you were getting by default.)

  • [SOLVED]Xorg crash with some applications when using double screen

    Hi,
I have a TV that I often use to watch dvd from my computer, and to do that I've set it up as a second screen in my xorg.conf, but on a daily basis I use a xorg.conf file with only my main screen. Up until last week I was able to use my second screen without problem, but yesterday I tried and it crashed instantly.
So I ran a few tests, amsn and vlc seems to be 2 applications that makes X crash (though there might be other, but I seem to be able to use chromium firefox and ktorrent just fine).
My WM is not to blame, I've launched X without any WM and vlc still makes X crash.
The problem does not happen when using a single screen.
I thought that my xorg.conf might be the problem, so I used nvidia-settings to create a new one, but that didn't change anything.
Here are my xorg.conf used for dual screen, and the logfile from the Xorg crash:
    # nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
    # nvidia-xconfig: version 1.0 (buildmeister@builder62) Wed May 27 01:58:49 PDT 2009

Sorry this doesn't really help with the Xinerama problem, but since you are using the nvidia driver, have you considered using Twinview instead? You could do composite stuff too with Twinview - last I knew, Xinerama had problems with things that want to use compositing. I don't know how your setup is but if you're not set on using Xinerama, it might be an option to consider.

  • Emac Crashes With Any Application.  Please Help?

    Can anyone please help?
I have had an Emac computer for years now.  I hardly ever use it, but it has a lot of my old video files and documents on it.  I mainly work with my macbook pro.  Until recently, my Emac has been working fine, but I tried to use it today and it seems to suddenly be fubar.
Here's what happened.  I wanted to take an old (.mov) video file and transfer it to my macbook pro.  I used an 8GB pen drive.  The transfer to the pen drive seemed to take literally no time, but the video file also still seemed to play from the pen drive on the Emac, so I thought it was fine.  Took it to the macbook pro.  The video file wouldn't play, it was just a black screen for the duration of the video.
I decided to try and export another version on the Emac, in case that would help.  I had a version I'd colour-corrected in Final Cut Express, so I opened that.  The Emac then did what I have this evening learned is a "kernel panic".  I didn't know what that was though, so I tried again and the same thing.
The original edit of the video had been done in iMovie, so I tried to open that next.  It opened, but as soon as I tried to play the video, "kernel panic".
I tried again and no "kernel panic", but everything crashed and the entire system became unresponsive, so I had to restart.
I decided I would try to burn the .mov onto a CD and transfer it that way.  During the burning process, the system crashed.  When I restarted, the computer was unable to read anything on the disc.
I then went to do some online research.  When I opened firefox, the system crashed.
Can anyone tell me what's going on and how I can start to go about getting things working again?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry. Been under the weather with a flu bug that triggered some "loverly" asthma things! Good to see you back, although I had hoped it would be to say you had the old eMac all sorted and learning new tricks.
I'm rather at a standstill here. The fact that the capacitors you can see are not affected doesn't necessarily mean those that are elsewhere under the cover are also OK. There are reports that people have removed the logic board to find the hidden capacitors leaking even though the ones visible in the RAM door were fine
Because a PRAM battery tests at 3.6V in hand doesn't always mean it's producing that under load when installed. However, the eMacs are not so picky about PRAM battery power as older models, and there are a couple of easy things that get you around a dead/weak battery anyway:
    1) Boot from a system CD/DVD, then immediately restart booting from  the hard drive.
    2) Boot while holding command + option + p + r and keep holding that combo until you hear a total of three startup chimes, then let go the keys and allow booting to continue.
The first method uses startup values from the optical disk and the second one resets the computer's PRAM back to factory defaults.
I keep coming back to your symptoms being the same as the eMac I worked with that WAS in the affected SN range. The computer would boot fine, but any app opened crashed within seconds.
.  I feel like you need some cheap or free hands-on help with this--at least someone you can talk to on the phone in real time. Have you looked for a Mac User Group (MUG) near you? I know you live where the population density can put neighbors miles away and some cities light-years away, but a MUG is a good place to find a guru on older models. The other option would be to ask of the IT staff (the worker-bees, not the bosses) at a school of university that has used Macs. Some great resources there.  Here's the find-a-MUG link:  http://appleusergroupresources.com/find-a-group/  We just retired our last eMac. My wife has been using a 1.42G model almost exactly 7 years and, as she's more into social networking now to stay in touch with our adult children, and our tax software will no longer run on PowerPC. I talked her into a refurbed iMac 21.5-inch mid-2011 we got directly from Apple for under US$1000. Nice computer.
