  • Import statement in .java files and .jsp files ..correction

    Guys I have few mysteries about this import statement.
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    1)Suppose if I have a folder c:\SourceFolder it has one.java and two.java files.If I compile one.java then one.class files is created in c:\ClassFolder .Now two.java uses one of the method of one.java,and without using import statement in two.java I am able to compile two.java, and two.class file is created in c:\ClassFolder.I assume that the path of one.class was taken from the CLASSPATH environment variable,hence I there was no need for import statement .........am i right ?
    BUT... in My.jsp,which is in C:\JspFolder, if I want to use one.class,then I have to specifically import one.class in My.jsp .That is i have to say
    <%@page import="one"%>
    in My.jsp.
    and since the classpath is C:\ClassFolder ,it finds one.class in the C:\ClassFolder and MyJsp is compiled sucessfully.(Note that My.class is created in a folder different from c:\ClassFolder )
    But I am wondering why was there no need for me to import one.class in two.java.
    (Note I am using JDeveloper and Apache server)
    Please help.

    It has to do with packages. Most java classes are in a package, the name of which must conform to its place on the filesystem relative to the classpath. By that I mean that if you have com.mystuff.One.java, it must be in a folder com/mystuff where com is located somewhere in the classpath.
    What you've done is a little different. I'm assuming a couple of things:
    1. you have no package declaration at the top of one.java or two.java
    2. you have the current directory "." in your classpath.
    Java has the concept of the "default package", which covers classes without a declared package, and in your case is the current directory.
    So when you're in c:\sourcefolder and run the compiler, then "."="c:\sourcefolder", and that directory is part of the default package. No import statements are necessary for classes that are in the same package. This is why two.java can call methods in one.java without an import statement.
    When you run your jsp, the "current directory" part of your classpath is not c:\sourcefolder, but some other value (probably the directory you start your jsp engine from) You will have to import all non-java-library classes because the jsp itself becomes a java class, with a package that is determined by the jsp engine.

  • How to use standard Java file in custom module

    Hi All,
    I want to use some CatalogItemImpl.java file in my custom DC but i was unable to find any entry in the standard component in businessobject.xml file as <businessObject name="XYZ" className="x"/>. Can anyone let me know how can we use the file file in my custom DC.
    Please provide your inputs......
    Regards,
    Rahul.

    Hi Rahul,
    You will not find the "CatalogItemImpl" in the 'businessobject.xml'. The 'businessobject.xml' is there to define session based API of modules. Those API have properties and web channel builder values injected when the user start a web session.
    For the "CatalogItem", you will have to use the Generic Factory concept. The Generic Factory is used to allocate instance given a configuration. If no configuration exists, the default implementation is used. By adding an entry in the Generic Factory you can choose to allocate your class instead of the default class.
    Within the catalog module, the alias to use for classes extending "CatalogItemImpl" is "com.sap.wec.app.common.module.catalog.businessobject.ext.interf.CatalogItemExtInterf".
    Please refer to the extension guide on how to manage the Generic Factory configuration file.

  • Incremental search in java files

    Hi,
    i m supposed to write an application for Incremental Search in the Java Files.
    it is such that, u type a word, then go on hitting any spl key as F3..it should take u to the every next occurance of the word in the current file and highlight it....
    any one who has done b4, doing or knows abt this ......
    plzzzz hlp me..
    thanx in adv
    SK

    Hi,
    Just giving you an idea to solve this, but implementation of this depends on your hardwork.
    We can use Threads concept here. Use a integer variable, which is a global and is used later.
    Now TWO java threads are activated.
    One of the thread will constantly pool the Standard Input device for desired key value. Once it gets the desired key press value it will increment the integer variable.
    The Second thread will serve as the searching thread. This will contantly check the value of the integer variable and the search string variable. If the integer value is more than 0, then this thread will run a methos which will point to the next occurance of the search word. After this it will decrement the value of the integer variable.
    You may need to use Synchronization concept also in this when it comes to integer variable.
    Hope this idea helps.
    Do let me know once u implement the solution.
    Cheers.

  • How can I get controller .java files

    I have craeted OA extension pages in which I have created Entiy object, module and view objects
    in JDeveloper for 12.1.1 in windows and it working fine.
    Now I want to extend one of the page of payable module (payable vision operation (USA))
    and the page name is SuppSummaryPG.xml .
    The problem is that how can I open or import SuppSummaryPG.xml in my jdeveloper ID
    and all the related files which belongs to SuppSummaryPG.xml , example raleated VO, entity objects
    module file and controller servlet.
    I move all the files from
    apps server to jdeveloper directory , i did the same thing which is running
    and working fine but the problem is with all of ViewObject and aplication module
    I am not able to open these in Jdeveloper , because when I try to open these files
    it gives me error that you dont have .java files , and it opens view objects and applicatino
    moudel files in read only mode
    the page is a standrad java moudle page
    suppSummaryPG is a standard page and it is in
    payable moudle herachy is
    oracle/apps/pos/supplier/....suppSummaryPG
    what should I do

    You can use decompiler to read java code. Oracle doesn't have any policy to prevent you from reading the class files.
    However you cannot change the java code and replace the standard files.
    Source Code:
    Oracle sells the just the software. So they are not obligated to provide source code.
    The reason why they provided soruce code for forms and reports is that there is no robust personalzation and extention concepts available for them.
    As per Oracle Support services, you dont need OAF code for extension and personalization.

  • Question about the java files which created by Web Dynpro

    After I create a new project under Web Dynpro, there is no any java file is generated.
    Now I create a new application in the project with the following names:
    application name: QuizApp
    package name: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.tutorials.quiz
    component name: QuizComp
    window name: Quiz
    view name: WelcomeView.
    Now, 5 java files are generated under the package:
    QuizComp.java,
    WelcomeView.java,
    QuizCompInterface.java,
    QuizInterfaceView.java
    QuizCompInterfaceCfg.java
    Can someone tell me what do these file mean? For what purpose?

    1)QuizComp.java -
      this is the source file for whatever you code inside the Component Controller ,
    2)WelcomeView.java -
    you get one java file for each view you create,
    3)QuizCompInterface.java -
    represents the public "face" of your component. If this webdynpro DC is used by another DC, the other DC can only "see" the methods present in this java class
    4)QuizInterfaceView.java    -
    this is to represent your view assembly (window and any views as part of it) when you want to embed UI of this DC in another DC
    5)QuizCompInterfaceCfg.java -
    (advanced concept)
    P.S: A java file is created for each Custom controller you create also. And many other classes get created too (which probably you dont need to bother about) but they require for WebDynpro concept to function properly i.e a framework
    Hope that clears things.

    Rajit

  • View Object to read data from a java file

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and ADF-BC in my application.
    For one of my view objects , I want the data to be read from a java file which exposes some method to return a collection.
    I cannot use a static view object in this case.
    Please suggest the best way to implement this requirement.Basically build a view object that should read data from a java file.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Depending on your use case you can either use a programmatic VO or directly expose the JV class as a data control.

    In this case the pSo I am wondering in JSP why it doesn't take the class I am looking for from the classpath .
    Help.

    You have to understand Java scoping rules. In the 1st scenario with the two Java files I am guessing neither one of them begins with a package statement. This means that they belong to the default package. When you compile the compiler uses the classpath to resolve method calls looking in the default package since there was no import statement specified in two.java. JSP is a little different. Now I just read this here in these forums a couple of days ago. Since the classfiles generated from the JSP files are not in the CLASSPATH they are loaded by a different classloader. This is why you have to import all references to all classes in the default package.

  • Can not see the design view nor the java file in CentOS

    Hi all. I've recently installed JSC2 in CentOS. I find this tool really useful. But I have a problem with the design view and the java file view. At the beginning, when I first create a Page1.jsp, I can see the design view and the java view with no problem. I run apps correctly. But after a while, I get a "null pointer exception" error and I am able to see only the jsp view, not the others. I don't even have the option to see the Design and Java views. And the page icon in the project window appears to be darker than a well working page. I'm not really sure what sequence of actions I do to get this error, it just suddenly happens. What I've done so far in JSC2 is to link to pages in the Page Navigation view. It works fine for a while, but after a while I get the error I've described.

    Yes, if I do that It happens the same. I've tried everything. Now I'm using Window$ 2000 and it works properly. Thanks anyway.

  • How do I include a JAVA file in my website  using DreamweaverCC ?

    Hi.  I searched the forums and it seems that all questions relating to JAVA and Dreamweaver elicit zero replies.
    I hope that someone has some direction.  Thanks again.
    I have a JAVA file that I want to include or have run within one of my pages in my WebSite.
    file > new > create > and there is not an option for JAVA but there is one for PHP etc. etc.
    How do I incorporate a java script into my Web Site ?
    I thought that I could just copy the code into the file here - at least to begin with  - but JAVA  runs in the background.
    I am lost
    conceptually
    and I do not know how to go about this task
    structurally.
    Thanks again,

    JQuery is a core JavaScript library used by millions of web sites.  It's the "do more & write less code framework."  If you're into re-inventing the wheel every time you need an advanced feature (plugin), feel free to manually code it yourself with JavaScript.  However, you'll need to test & debug your scripts in every conceivable browser and OS before you can be sure it's viable for use on a production site.
    On the other hand, you could use a plugin and be up & running in 5 minutes or less. See the code below.

  • Problem - Scanner.java file not found

    Hello all, I've been having a problem with a Java installation on windows vista. I've installed both the Java 2 1.4.2_16 sdk, and the Java EE 5 update 3 sdk. However, neither install contains the Scanner.java file... On my desktop running XP, this is not the case. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail. My classpath is set correctly because my programs compile that import java.util.*; But when I create a scanner object I get the dreaded can't resolve symbol error, but only when I compile under vista... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

    Scanner was implemented beginning with v1.5x, and comes in the JDK SE, not the EE.

  • How to get the value from a JavaScript and send the same to Java file?

    Hi.
    How to get the value from a JavaScript (this JS is called when an action invoked) and send the value from the JS to a Java file?
    Thanks and regards,
    Leslie V

    Yes, I am trying with web application.
    In the below code, a variable 'message' carries the needed info. I would like to send this 'message' variable with the 'request'.
    How to send this 'message' with and to the 'request'?
    Thanks for the help :-)
    The actual JS code is:
    function productdeselection()
    var i=0;
    var j=0;
    var deselectedproduct = new Array(5);
    var message = "Are you sure to delete Product ";
    mvi=document.forms[0].MVI;
    mei=document.forms[0].MEI;
    lpi=document.forms[0].LPI;
    if(null != mvi)
    ++i;
    if(null != mei )
    ++i;
    if(null != lpi)
    ++i;
    if(null != mvi && mvi.checked)
    deselectedproduct[++j]="MVI?";
    if(null != mei && mei.checked)
    deselectedproduct[++j]="GAP?";
    if(null != lpi && lpi.checked)
    deselectedproduct[++j]="LPI?";
    if( 0!=j)
    if(i!=j)
    for (x=0; x<deselectedproduct.length; x++)
    if(null != deselectedproduct[x])
    message =message+ "-" +deselectedproduct[x];
    alert(message);
    else
    //alert(" You cannot remove all products!");
    return false;
    return true;
    }

  • Applet.java file which used to compile, now does not

    I cannot re-compile a java file which I used to compile many times.
    It keeps saying:
    error: cannot read PopupNavigatorApplet.java
    1 error
    I extracted the original from the archive - the same result
    What might be wrong?

    Perhaps you don't have the rights to access the file in the filesystem? Are you working on *nix or Windoze (or any other)? Is your classpath set properly (including the current working directory '.')?
    So many questions and no answers.. ;o)
    cheers,

  • Reading Java files from a EAR file

    I want to read all Java files from a EAR file and from inner (inside EAR) EAR or WAR file with out unpacking.
    suppose "Demo.ear" contaions the following files:
    abc.java
    programs / a.java
    programs / b.java
    src / index.java
    src / com / myFolder / main.java
    src.war
    and suppose "src.war" again contains some java files inside differenet folders.
    The main problem is that i can read all java files from "Demo.ear" but unable to reading from "src.war" b'coz my program is using JarFile class constructor which needs a archive file path, So only top level archive having the path but not the inner archives.
    So, pls help me out to this problems
    Thanks in advance

    Maybe you can use java.util.zip.ZipInputStream to
    open the Ear and recursively to open the files in
    it; I'm not sure whether this will result in a full
    unpacking of the file in some temporary directory,
    though.
    Please let me know if it worked the way you wanted,
    I'm curious about it.This jerk just created the third thread about the same topic, because he didn't understand your suggestion, which I already provided earlier.
