Java Frrustration with Windows and javax.mail

Please help.
I was under the impression that if you could get java compiled (on any plat form) in my case a linux box and you had the correct version of java (J2sdk1.4.2) that your application etc would run on say a windows box. Is this correct or do you have to recompile the application on for each different platform. My application is running perfectly on a Linux box and I was wanting to see if it would run on a windows box. Having some problems compiling due to class path errors with javax.mail, but if I don't need to recompile for windows, I'll focus on just getting it running ona windows box vrs trying to recompile on windows.

O.K. I got my java server to start on windows, thanks for the help and everything seems to be working correctly except that
the server will not update the mysql database.
It can select the data, but can not update the table.
I have check the permission, and even changed to a root login and no luck.
My linux version (working) is running MySql 4.0.23 and connector of
export CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:./classes/mysql-connector-java-3.0.9-stable-bin.jar
My windows version MySQL 4.1.10-nt
I have played with a few different version of connectors and all will allow me to connect
3.0.9
3.0.11
3.0.16-ga-bin
none seem to allow me to update on the mysql database which is (being a database person and not a java person.) pertty strange, cause I do understand the database stuff....

There are 5 drop List. Under the 2nd Drop List Search for JavaMail(TM) API 1.3. Now continue to download. U will download a file names javamail-1_3.zip. There are some jar files which u need to extract and add to ur classpath settings.

What are you actually trying to do? Why do you need "DVD size" folders if you're creatng an Archive on an external hard drive?
Also, I understand burning folders instead of individual photos or albums gives you more space on a DVD.
It makes no difference at all.
How can I keep the captions on my photos (not events) when I print or transfer to a new folder?
You can export while writing the metadata to the file in most cases.
Tne only way I know is to copy photos from the Windows to folders on my HD, then copy and paste photos or albums or events to HD, then create a new folder and fill it to the appropriate DVD size.
HD? Another HD? You use HD there in a way that makes no sense. What's the point of 'DVD size'?
I also thought I should download future photos to my Canon programming that comes with EOS cameras and edit and then decide which photos to save to iPhoto library and which to save only to my archival HD?
Does this have any relation to the previous questions? You know you can delete from iPhoto, right?
You're somewhat confused and you need to
1. Decide what exactly you want to do
2. Then go about it.
If I understand you correctly - and there's no guarantee that I do - the easiest thing is to bring all your Photos into iPhoto and do everything from there.
You can have an archive on an external disk, you can sort and select and edit with or via iPhoto

When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.

Hi,
The event log in your posting is a general error event which occurs when application stops responding. Please make sure the latest patches and service packs are installed for your Outlook 2007.
Please also restart Outlook in safe mode(Start > Run, type Outlook /safe and Enter) to check whether Outlook 2007 is still not responding or not.

The latest version of iTunes tends to act up occassionaly. See this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 and remove and reinstall iTunes. This will not affect your music library, apps or other content in iTunes. Make sure you follow the steps exactly.
Also, just copying the ringtone will not get it into your phone. iPhone ringtones have an extension of m4r, and you have to first take the Media player file and covert it to an AAC version. From there you need to change the extension from m4a to m4r. If you cannot see file extensions in Windows Explorer, which is actually the default action, go into Organize>Folder and search options, then hit the View tab, and then remove the checkmark by hide file extensions from known file types. After you have created the m4a version and changed the file extension, you can double-click on it and it should show up in the Tones folder in iTunes. From there, sync the phone and it should show up in the list of ringtones.

D20 now only available with Windows and SATA...??

As of this morning, the Lenovo Thinkstation D20 on the US site is only available with Windows and SATA hard drives. It used to have SAS drives and DOS available.
They may just be low on inventory, or maybe... ?

Kind of funny you mention this as a few of my team members and I were digging through the CTO site today. Considering the crazy number of various parts/options that we have qualified for the S/C/D 20 platforms, there are a ton of omissions on the CTO site. I know they pull some various options from time to time because of inventory or end of life concerns, but the configs that were showing up today as available really made no sense. Unfortunately there's not a lot I can do from my side to get this resolved other than raise the complaint. I'll see what I can do though.

SOAP and javax.mail.internet.ContentType

I have a problem with a very simple SOAP app:
I get a saaj error "Unable to internalize message", which gets caused by a
NoClassDefFoundError: javax/mail/internet/ContentTypeI have tried everything:
1) Copied mail.jar to ./jre/lib/ext
2) Added the directory containing mail.jar to the CLASSPATH, in Windoze and in Sun ONE Studio
When I try to instantiate javax.mail.internet.ContentType in the same app, it works fine, i.e. the class can be found, but saaj doesn't see it for some strange reason.
Any ideas?
I am using the Web Services pack 1.3 and java version:

You also need to have the Java Activation Framework available (activation.jar).
The NoClassDefFoundErr can me caused by a class being used by a class not being found.

Doubt with Windows and Oracle Forms 10G and 11g

I have some doubts in installing Oracle Client on Windows.
a)Can we install Oracle Forms 10g and Reports 10g client on Windows 7?
b)Can we install Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g client on Windows XP?
c)If we have an Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g, can it connect to a 10g Server?
d)If we have an Oracle Forms 10g and Reports 10g Client, can it connect to an 11g Server?
Please, Can any one help me in this????

a)yes it can be installed on win7, may have some issues on 64bit systems but they're solvable
b)11g had some problems with windows 2000, but didn't see mention of any problems on XP
c)if you mean a database server then yes - i managed to connect 11g to an 8i database, so v10 should not be a problem. If you mean a forms/reports server..well newer forms/reports builder might not want to run old forms/reports and vice versa, but I don't see the point of operating on the same files from different versions. You can still load old form/report source files with a newer builder and recompile them to run on the new server.
d) the "client" is effectively your web browser with a java plugin, unless I misunderstood your question. What version was a form/report compiled with should not be an issue.
