  • Distiller Start Error, Time-out occured

    We are using Acrobat distiller 7 in our Formscape/Bottomline
    Project. The incoming file is a pdf  from JDE OneWorld XE.  WHen Formscape tries to create the pdf, it has an error that says "Distiller start error. time-out occured."
    Has anyone else had this issue? What could be causing it? and How do I fix it? Distiller 9 doesn't work with Formscape/Bottomline.  I haven't tried 8

  • BPEL not started until time out

    Hi,
    In my BPEL Process,I have flowN activity, each branch(each flow) has HumanTask activity which sends mail & get response from the assignee.
    When I invoke the process, it gets started but not send any mail until the timeout.
    If the process timed out and returns exception : com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.ReceiveTimeOutException, then everything works as expected.
    I have set the time out under 2 files transaction-manager.xml & domain.xml.
    I'm using SOA 10.1.3.1
    And in my orion-ejb-jar.xml also contains some timeout option (default is 160) which I left without change.
    Thanks.

    Hi Janice
    I'm not sure which version of Reports you are running. In case you are running Reports 9i, you may use Java Importer feature to get this done. This is how:
    Create a java class that has a static method:
    public class Sleeper {
    public static void Sleep(long duration)
    Thread.sleep(duration);
    Compile Sleeper.java file and place the class file in REPORTS_CLASSPATH
    In Reports 9i Builder, import the Sleeper class.
    In the place where you want to hold, call SLEEPER.SLEEP(1000*60*5);

    i got the same error but in my case, I used HTTPDispatcher and found that the URL parameter was invalid, so I changed it in the edgeserver.xml and restart, it's ok for me.

    The first time you run SOLMAN_SETUP it has to compile all the web dynpros, which takes a lot of time.
    In Solution Manager run transaction SMICM and choose Goto -> Services.
    Choose the HTTP service and then choose Service -> Change from the menu.
    Change the Max Processing Time setting from the current value (default = 60) to 6000 and save.
    Then run SOLMAN_SETUP.
    When you're done, you can reset the HTTP service timeout, and when your restart the Solution Manager system it will also reset.

  • Large file download does not start and times out while loading

    I've been trying to download movie files from a website and it does not work. When I click on the link, the download begins preliminarily, but does not seem to actually start downloading the file. It stays like this:
    The MBs continue to go up for a while, but a download progress bar never appears (just the spinning striped bar) and I never get a time remaining on the download. After a few minutes the download just fails, and it says something like "network error." I've tried it on Chrome, FireFox, and Safari and the result is always the same.
    I asked someone at the company about it, and he said they never heard of this problem and that their downloads work for other customers. Is this a problem on my end or their end?
    Does anyone know what the problem may be? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    I don't know what route Apple will take. Sure, they can boot it in firewire mode and try to reinstall
    the update, but in the interest of time or other factors they may take another route.

    Priya

    Hi Priya,
    There are a few reasons this kind of error can occur - typically it's because a rowset didn't get closed for some reason. If you're using pointbase, this can happen pretty easily because the number of connections that are supported is very low etc. Check your server.log file to see if there is any additional information - the error stack presented in the browser sometimes doesn't hold all the information. It's difficult to diagnose with just the information you have provided here. I can't tell if it's a table that's locked or the entire db.
    If this problem is occuring in Pointbase during your development, the way to clean it up is to restart pointbase and the appserver.
    A few scenarios where this problem can occur (yours might be the first one):
    1) could be an issue w/inserts... we are thinking we might want to revise the tutorial here... instead of :
      rowset.execute();
      rowset.moveToInsertRow();
      rowset.updateObject("FOO", new Integer(0));
      rowset.updateObject("ID", getNextId());try instead constructing the insert manually, something like:
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup(blahblahrowset.getDataSourceName());
    Connection c = ds.getConnection();
    c.setAutoCommit(false);
    Statement stmt = c.createStatement();
    int count = stmt.executeUpdate("INSERT INTO person (PersonID, Name, JobTitle) VALUES ((SELECT (MAX(PersonID)+1) from Person), 'The New Guy', 'new guy title')");
    // you can verify count is 1 here, but really its not necessary as a SQLException will be thrown if something went wrong - just make sure you close in the exception handler as well
    stmt.close();
    c.commit();
    c.close(); Also note that "getNextPK" approach in the tutorial is just a quick and dirty approach - you should probably use identity columns or perhaps the MAX approach shown in the code above... if you do use an identity column, you would remove the id column from the insert statement and let the db handle it.
    2) An exception is thrown in your application and therefore it is skipping the afterRenderResponse method which contains the close statement
    Solution: Avoid throwing exceptions - and if you must throw an exception, make sure to close the rowset before throwing.
    3) If you put a rowset in the session or application bean, you might be holding a lock on the table somewhere
    Solution: Avoid putting rowsets in Session and application beans - if you must access the database in those beans, close the rowsets as soon as possible - ideally don't just leave them open. If you must hold them open for extended periods of time. be aware that your pages may not be able to access those tables via direct binding.

  • Time out parameters for ABAP and JAVA instance

    Hello All,
    We are looking for Time out parameters for our ABAP and JAVA instances.
    As users are complaining that they are getting time out error
    while they are trying to access Cprojects from Portal.
    I was able to check/collect the ABAP instance parameters from SMICM Tcode.
    Can anybody tell me which parameters we need to look for JAVA instance.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to Get Duration, Start/Stop Time of Each Instance (Run)

    Can someone tell me how to get the Duration, as well as Execution Start/Stop times for a given run (Instance) of a Report, stored in History?
    For example, on the BO Server in InfoView, I can browse the History of each report, and for each run, I can click the details and view the Duration and Start/Stop times for that run. How do I get that information in Java via the SDK?
    Neither IProcessInfo nor ISchedulingInfo seems to have this information.
    For example, ISchedulingInfo's Start/Stop Times are for general scheduling (when the report will stop being scheduled). That is not what I want.
    I need specific data for a given completed Run, namely its duration and time endpoints. Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    fetch the instance of the run like this
    IInfoObjects list = infoStore.query(
    "select SI_STARTTIME , SI_ENDTIME From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_ID=<instanceIDtoMeasure>"
    IInfoObject element = list.get(0);
    Date startTime = element.properties().getDate("SI_STARTTIME");
    System.out.println("Beginn "+ startTime);
    Date endTime = element.properties().getDate("SI_ENDTIME" );
    System.out.println("End " + endTime);
    long time = ((endTime.getTime() - startTime.getTime()) / 1000);
    System.out..println("Runtime " + time + " sec");
    You can get the nstanceIDtoMeasure form your Report with getInstances
    Enjoy

  • Java instance not starting

    Hello,
    I have an ABAP+Java system. The Abap instance has started with 'startsap', but teh Java instance is not starting.
    Please help me troubleshooting.
    Thanks.

    Dear Gautam,
    Java always take some time. If ABAP stack is ready in 5 mins, it will take 10 - 15mins for Java stack to be up. This is because of the Java program/stack objects being loaded into your physical RAM,pagefile.

  • Auxiliary instance connection time out

    Hi Experts,
    I am creating a duplicate DB on oracle 10.2.0 on XP on a remote host.
    first host (suman)is source and the second host(sumanr) is target means duplicate. in 2nd host i have installed the oracle software, created the pswd file, pfile, the instance and started in nomount. In 1st host DB is opened and running, now I am trying to connect to the 2nd host instance but getting following error..

    Error:     ORA-12170 (ORA-12170)
    Text:     TNS:Connect timeout occurred
    Cause:     The server shut down because connection establishment with a
         client failed to complete within the allotted time interval. This
         may be a result of network/system delays; or this may indicate
         that a malicious client is trying to cause a Denial of Service
         attack on the server.
    Action:     If the error occurred because of a slow network/system,
         reconfigure the SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT parameter in
         sqlnet.ora to a larger value. If a malicious client is suspected,
         use the address in sqlnet.log to identify the source and restrict
         access. Note that logged addresses may not be reliable as they can
         be forged (e.g. in TCP/IP).

    couldn't figure out what is the basic problem...
    Normally when ever I make any changes in Oracle Sensor Edge Server, I used to get this error..
    I have installed the Oracle Apps Server in Windows enviroment...
    I will be very happy if some body can help me resolve the issue...
    Regards
    Nasim

    Can't tell you what's wrong with just this much of information. Take a look at this log file (as reported in the error message):
    D:\product\10.1.3\OracleAS_1\opmn\logs\OC4J~home~default_group~1
    And also:
    D:\product\10.1.3\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\log\home_default_group_1\server.log
    These two log files will give you bit more information to help diagnose the issue.
    Thanks
    Shail
