Java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '403: Forbidden' for url
Hi,
I'm in wls7.0sp6 and trying to connect to a secure site, bu all I get is either
"java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '403: Forbidden' for url 'https://www.....'"
or
java.net.SocketException: Connection aborted by peer: JVM_recv in socket input stream read
I can connect to this url in html form post from browser.
I was battling with it for a week already.
Any help will be appreciated.
When i connect through the browser i connect using the Https to that URL. There is no more authentication for that. It just accepts the username and password that i am sending in along with the request.
I am able to connect to the server using the jdk1.3 stand alone implementing with the SSL handler.
But when i try to do that through weblogic it gives me the following error.

Hello,
I am in the processing porting a J2EE based application deployed originally in OC4J to WLS. I am not changing anything as far as J2EE/Web configuration files such as web.xml. Whenever I hit the URL of the application, I am getting the below exception.
What does usually "java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '404: Not Found' for url...." indicate?
If you could please give me some pointers to narrow down the places to look, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mustafa

Java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 405 for URL
I'm trying write to a file using a combination of CGI and Java. I am following this website:
http://www.webdeveloper.com/java/java_jj_read_write.html
However, when I try to write out to the file, I keep getting the error in the title: HTTP response code: 405 for URL: .....
I was wondering if anyone knew what this mean? I searched the forum and found a post from 2 years ago that was exactly the same problem I was having, only thing is that there were no responses to it. Hopefully I'll have a bit more luck.http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html

IOException :server returned http response code:505 for url url
hi,
my program creates IOException server returned http response code:505 for url <some url>
I close the i/p stream.I dont know ,where is the problem.plz let me know.Thanks in advance.
Here is the code:
public class CallApplicationURL
private static final String className = "[CallApplicationURL] ";
private MailAlert ma = new MailAlert();
public String callURL(String purl, RequestObject ro, Debug log)
URL url = null;
String URLResponse = "No response from Provider";
ProxySetter ps = new ProxySetter();
try
ps.setProxy(ro, log);
url = new URL (purl);
catch (Exception e)
URLResponse = className+"Exception while URL assignment \n"+purl+"\n, Exception is "+e;
return (URLResponse);
try
HttpURLConnection h = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
h.connect();
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader( h.getInputStream() ) );
URLResponse = br.readLine();
br.close();
catch (Exception e)
URLResponse = className+"Exception while calling URL "+purl+", Exception is "+e;
return (URLResponse);
return (URLResponse);
}http response 505: http://libraries.ucsd.edu/about/tools/http-response-codes.html
This would indicate nothing is wrong with your applet but with your http server (not supporting http 1.1??)
A full trace might help:
To turn the full trace on (windows) you can start the java console, to be found here:
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4...\bin\jpicpl32.exe
In the advanced tab you can fill in something for runtime parameters fill in this:
-Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
if you cannot start the java console check here:
C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
add or change the following line:
javaplugin.jre.params=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
The trace is here:
C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
When you catch the exception you should print the stacktrace: (e.printStackTrace()). -

Segmentation Error : Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL
Hi,
when we do customer segmentation in Applet Java Builder, we create a target group using 2 or more criterion, then it prompts us an error "Communication Error" - Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http//xxxxxxxxxxx/bc/bsp/sap/CRM_MKTTG_SEGAP/communication.do
we're in CRM 7.0 SP 6.
What we have done
- activated the service CRM_MKTTG_SEGAP
- implement sap note 1481289, 1359890, 1161753
any info is really appreciated.
Thanks
JDHI ,
Communication error occurs because of two active versions of segment builder jar files are appearing , deletion of older version resolves this issue .
Go to SE80 u2013 Select the BSP Application - CRM_MKTTG_SEGAP and check segmentbuilder.jar Segment Builder Applet under MIME folder and check the size and delete the older version .

Hello,
i created the RFC Connection for ADS-Service.
But if i test it i get a 403 Forbidden response with the ADSUSER.
URL: host:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config
I found no reason for this. Have checked all in [Adobe Document Services Configuration Guide|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/f3fb6204777062e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm]
ADSUSER is not locked and pass is ok.
Please Help!

IOEXCEPTION:sever returned response code 500:for url:-----
hello sir we are developing a project for a transportation company in java with tomcat server 4.1 and the backend used is the sql server 7.0.In this software we are getting a problem while entering a particular date such as 24/04/2003 for storing it in the database for further processing. While entering other dates for processing we are not getting any problem. The error what we are getting is
ioexception:http response code 500 for specified url.
sun.httpconnectionurl.this project is mainly based on the accouting years we are storing for example an accounting year may be in this form like 01/04/2003 to 31/03/2004. so please find a solution as early as possible for me.Generally, if you're getting a 500 error on a JSP/Servlet, it's because an Exception is being thrown and not caught. If you are using a JSP, you can make a generic errorPage to handle all errors. For a quick fix for debugging purposes, though, just put all your code in a try {} block, and catch all Exceptions and print out the error message.

HTTP response code: 401 for URL suddenly
I was using 1.4.2_01 and went back to 1.4.1_05 in order to get JACOB to work. (Java Com Bridge) -- to control Microsoft excel, word etc.
Switching back to 1.4.1 is giving me errors with my URL connections now. I was originally using an authenticator class but now it doesn't work. I even tried to set the connection manually and still no success. Any insight into this one? I reset my classpath and path variables. Hmmmm.... Was there something I had to set to use java.net stuff?
Connection code:
Authenticator.setDefault(new TestAuthenticator());
URL testUrl = new URL(urlString);
URLConnection yc = testUrl.openConnection();
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(yc.getInputStream()));blah blah blah... Returns error code 401 because I'm not 'authentic' But I have authenticator code:
import java.net.*;
import java.io.*;
class TestAuthenticator extends Authenticator {
private static String username = "userName";
private static String password = "passWord";
public TestAuthenticator() {}
public PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication(){
return new PasswordAuthentication(username,(password.toCharArray()));
}I just went back and recompiled in 1.4.2 and it works! Why not in 1.4.1?
Thanks!
TomHi,
Has anyone come up with an answer for this?
I would also like to ask what would happen if I need to go through a proxy that also requires authentication in the first instance before connecting to the server which needs to autenticate me? Can you use the same autenticator subclass? What if the username/password are different on the proxy and webserver?
Thanks. -
Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL
i am trying to execute the following piece of code from a remote client:
URL url = new URL("www.abc.com/servlet/someservlet");
URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();
but i am getting a server returned 401 error, i did some research and i think my client needs a some kind of authentication to call that servlet. Can somebody send me a code snippet on how to do this?
thxAssuming that your user ID is in a variable called "userName", password is in "password", and your URL connection is "urlC", try something like this:
// Construct the user name/password string and base64 encode it
String userPassword = this.userName + ":" + this.password;
String encoding =
new sun.misc.BASE64Encoder().encode(userPassword.getBytes());
// Set the authorization request property - use basic authentication
urlC.setRequestProperty ("Authorization", "Basic " + encoding);
// connect to the URL
InputStream content = (InputStream)urlC.getInputStream();HTH

FileNotFoundException: 403 Forbidden
Hi, I have a web app that connects to an external site to retrieve an XML file. We have four deployment levels, that is, four different machines with their own installation of weblogic 7 SP2 (jdk131_06): local, development, test and production.<br>
<br>
Attempting to connect to the external site through the web app generates a 403 error on the local and test boxes, but <b>not</b> on the development or production boxes. However, cutting and pasting the url into a browser works fine on all boxes. So it appears the problem is at the weblogic level, not necessarily a problem on the box itself.<br>
<br>
Any ideas where to look to debug this issue?<br>

JonHi, I have a web app that connects to an external site to retrieve an XML file. We have four deployment levels, that is, four different machines with their own installation of weblogic 7 SP2 (jdk131_06): local, development, test and production.<br>
<br>
<br>
Any ideas where to look to debug this issue?<br>
<br>
The stack trace I get is:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '403: Forbidden' for url: 'https://externalsite.org/directory/service.cfm?u=someuser&p=20060626&ssn=111111111&doeid=00000100&format=XML'<br>
