Java is not unloading from FireFox

At yahoo chess when I close out of a game window it disappears but I am still the room. This all happened after the latest update. I tried reinstalling Java update and Firefox both but it still is hanging in the background until I exit Firefox.
It seems to be working in Safari. And Ideas?

+*Apple Mac Book Pro*+ running Firefox with problems that appear after *+Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update+*. For that reason looking for support from those who may be experiencing similar issues with their Apple product is both logical and germane to do so at this location.
While not having the neither the ability nor temperament to offer a helpful solution but needing to reply anyways communicates something very sad. I wish you well little one. I suspect you should go back to coding, your not good with people...

  • Java is not working with Firefox (but is working with Safari)

My computer is showing that Java is not enabled via Firefox. When I try to go into Tools/Add-ons, I see that there is no Java plug-in on that list (though I previously had no problem with Java). When I run software update on my Mac, it tells me my software is all up to date. Not sure what else to do. Java is working in Safari, so the problem is clearly with Firefox. I've tried disabling all my plug-ins, and clearing my cache. Nothing has helped.

Apple has removed support for the Java Plugin2 with the latest Java Update 10 for OS X 10.5 Java version, so the Java plugin is no longer available for Firefox versions and other browsers like Google Chrome that require the Java Plugin2.
There will be fix for this in Firefox 6 or in Firefox 5.0.1 if that version will be released, so that Firefox will find the plugin again.
I don't know if all Java applets will still be working on OS X 10.5 with this fix (Apple recommends updating to OS X 10.6).

  • I can not print from Firefox, Firefox is not responding

I can not print from Firefox on one PC in my office. At one time printing was operable from Firefox on this PC, the user told me about one month ago Firefox would no longer print.
I went to the users PC - Windows XP Professional SP3 - Firefox opens no problem, I can go to any website, but when I click on the print icon, or file, print, nothing happens. I do not see the print icon in the task bar which shows you something is spooling, printing, I open Task Manager and I see Firefox is Not responding. I must end task.
We can print anything else on the PC, Internet Explorer 8 prints successfully, just Firefox will not print.
I also uninstalled the network printer, re-installed. Connected to another network printer, Firefox still will not print.
I also uninstalled the latest version of Firefox on the PC 15.0.1, went back a few versions and Firefox still will not print.
Can someone assist why Firefox refuses to print and when you try to print Firefox goes to a Not responding status ?
    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Can not print from Firefox/Linux

Is there anything I can do to get a flash movie to print from
Firefox or some other browser running under Linux?
I created a program in flash that uses both flash and php to
access MySql but when the data is displayed in the movie, it can
not be printed. Tried the browser print button, flash menu and
action script to print but only get blank page.
    Any Ideas?
Linux Fedora Core 4, Fedora Core 5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
ES 4 - Tried Netscape and Firefox.
I have not tried a different distro, could this be a RH
    problem?

on peopletools 8.44 firefox is not a certified platform. from peopletools 8.48 they started certifying firefox and safari.
please look into My oracle support for a list of certified browsers and platforms on Peopletools 8.44 release.
please try to use IE as a default browser.

  • Why would the Java Plugin not work in Firefox 5 on Mac SnowLeopard? I have the most recent version but am unable to use any Java features on Firefox 5. Firefox 3.6 works with the same Java but 5 will not.

Most recent version of Java and firefox. Java Applications will start to load but end up in an infinite loading loop.

Well, it's what I did to get my Java working in Firefox 4. I installed both binaries into my Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. The version was newer that what was previously installed (newer version is 0.9.7.5). It solved the Java problems I was having. My inital problem was that Java would not initiate and no applets would run in Firefox version 4 which I just installed a few days ago.
I know the readme.txt. says it is not compatible with version 4, but the release date on 0.9.7.5 is after the release date of Firefox 4 and so that was I tried it. I figure there was nothing to lose as at worst it woud update my two plug-in files. Nothing was going to be changed otherwise. If you try it, it might work.

  • Java is not working with Firefox 4.0. It was working fine with Firefox 3.6

When uploading photos on Zenfolio, Java was working fine with Firefox 3.6. But when I upgraded it to Firefox 4.0, Java stopped working properly. When I try to upload photos, the Java text opens up with all the programming codes. With Firefox 4.0, I am not able to upload photos into Zenfolio.

  • Java is not running in Firefox, but runs in other browsers.

I am trying to run java in my Firefox 3.6.13 browser.
Java works perfectly in Internet Explorer, but I rather use fire fox.
I have java installed, and it appears in my (about:plugins) page as all enabled.
yet when I go to the java website to detect java, I end up watching the swirling bar go on forever and then it reports I have no java installed.
Every page that uses java appears blank, the page loads around the java perfectly, but its just an empty space where anything java is.
I made sure to check the control panel and make sure it is enabled for mozilla family as well as the next gen java is selected. unfortunatley no matter how many times I uninstall java/fire fox, and re install, Java will not work

The ''' "Search" ''' box isn't going to do you any good, you need the '''Run''' box. There isn't a "file" in the Firefox Program Files folder that you can use to launch the Firefox SafeMode. ''Firefox 4.0 has a fix to get around this problem in Vista and Win7, so you won't have to activate the '''Run''' box.''
See if this works in Windows 7: <br />

  • I just installed a multifunction Lexmark Pro905 printer and it will not print from Firefox, but will from Explorer????

I just installed a multifunction Lexmark Pro905 printer and it will not print articles from Firefox, but will from Explorer??? Are there settings in Firefox to solve this??

When you initiate printing with {Ctrl + P}, are you able to select that printer in the Printer - Name box?

  • C'mon--how do I get around NOT printing from Firefox!!

I feel like an idiot. I order and receive my brand new Photosmart Premium C309g one week ago, thinking I got a great new printer...only to find out I can't print a thing from Firefox, which I exclusively use.
You've got to be kidding. I've been able to print off Firefox from my 7 year old HP. So why oh why does a brand new one stop that?
So tell me, how do I disable that problem??? Or, am I forced to return this white elephant?

That is what I ended up doing.  It was a chore but it worked.
    Cheers!

    java applets will not load,
i have run the java test page & i have the latest version installed.
have removed all old versions of java from my hard drive & restarted the computer.
i have checked that java is enabled in the plug-ins and it is with version se 6 u22, also something called java development toolkit 6.0.220.4 np runtime script plug-in library for java (tm) deploy.
if i click on java console in tolls nothing happens

    Hi,
You might want to look in your control panel for 'Java' icon. It should give you an option to enable java plugin into your browser. Let me know if you still face the issue.
    Thanks!

  • Java console doesn't launch when starting Java Web Start app from Firefox

Updated my Linux desktop from RHEL to Fedora 12 with resultant upgrade of Firefox to 3.5.9 and now when I launch our Java Web Start application, no Java console appears. The Java Control Panel still shows "Show Console" as set. My app uses Java 1.5 which I have installed on my desktop.
What do I do to properly configure my browser/desktop to support use of the Java console?
Please help, I need to debug our app!

    1) Though you might try rebooting the machine if any installation/configuration changes have occurred since last boot.
Also note that many problems with JWS apps. can be sorted be checking the JNLP using JaNeLA.

  • Java plugin not loading in Firefox 4.0b11, works fine in 3.6.13

Java plugin isn't loading in Firefox 4.0b11, but it works fine in 3.6.13 (and in Google Chrome too). It worked in Firefox 4 before, but broke somewhere around beta 5. libnpjp2.so is not really in the plugins folder, but is a symlink: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so. When run from the command line, I see FF trying to load the other symlinked plugins (most totem related) but failing because they are amd64, and FF is built in 32bit. But no messages about libnpjp2.so (which IS 32bit).

this method works for Firefox 4.0 b11..!! [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/manual-plugin-install-linux-136395.html Manually install java plugin....]

  • I can not print from Firefox, but can from all other browsers and applications (such as MS Word, notepad, etc.). I get a print error on the printing monitor like it's a spooling problem.

This is a recent development but I can not print anything from within Firefox. The print functions open normally, it is going to the correct printer which works..I can print from other browsers and applications. It acts like it is spooling and then a print error occurs and it won't print. I closed and reopened Firefox, opened it in safe mode, cleaned out history/cache/cookies, and rebooted twice. Nothing makes any difference. Also tried printing from the print preview which had the same result. I can print from all other browsers and applications without a problem so it must be within Firefox.

  • Java will not work on Firefox 3.6 and 4.0.Why?

After upgrading toFirefox 3.6 and 4.0 cannot get Java to work.
Uninstalled several times with both versions, and reinstalled the same.As soon as Iclick on a Java site Firefox freezes and does not respond

    Friends,
Everytime you upgrade firefox 3.6 onwards In win XP you are advised to upgrade Flash player and now for FF 3.6.8 player 10.1.54.. I don't find any justification.I would rather suggest user of Mozilla to clear the unwanted file created on macromedia flash player at C:\Documents and Settings\(**type__yuorfoldername)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects> then except for s.ytimg.com ,ww.youtube.com you can safely delete the other junk.Thn move on to E:\Documents and Settings\ **type your foldername)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys perform similar exercise. However this is my suggestion you may at your own risk . Chinu Ray
