It usually means that a JAR in which the class file resides is not included in the web-app or is not on the classpath. Had the same problem with the last Eclipse/WebLogic project where JAR files, in which class files resided on which other class files were dependent, were missing.

  • Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.fintrack.FtCFDTraderApplet.class

I am using Mozilla Firefox version 3.6.18. I don't want to update because last time I updated (recently) the newer version was such an unfriendly dog that after a few days I went back to the version I am still using. It works well! BUT, after I have successfully logged into my Macquarie Prime account, I then click the link to the trading platform and get a Java error message.
Okay, perhaps Macquarie could have done a better job of making their java code cross-platform compatible, but I installed the latest version of Java and then tried again. With the newer version of Java, the error message changed, but I still got the following:
    "Java Plug-in 1.6.0_26

    Hmmm...
I forgot to state what I actually WANT!
Is there any way (anywhere) I can get the missing class/applet and manually instal it? If so, would that fix the problem?
Thanks to anyone who can help me (without getting me lost in a never-ending swamp of excessively geeky technicalities; I don't need a "perfect" system - just access to my trading platform.)?

  • Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/j3d/utils/applet/MainFrame         at HelloUniverse.main(Compiled Code)

    I'm getting this error
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/j3d/utils/applet/MainFrame
    at HelloUniverse.main(Compiled Code)
I receive this error when I try to run the demos that are in the /usr/java1.1/demo folder.
I followed the directions to install java3d. I installed the java3d binary in the top part of
the JDK directory then ran the binary. Everything installed o.k., but I cannot run
any of the demos. I also have J2SE 1.2.2_05a, JDK 1.1.8_10, and.
JRE 1.1.8_10 installed. My operating system is SunOS 5.6, Solaris 2.6. My workstation
is an Ultra 5 with 374mb ram.
Here is part of the install intructions.
Place the java3d1_2-solsparc.bin file into the top level directory
of the JDK you wish to install Java 3D into. Execute the
    java3d1_2-solsparc.bin file (ex: sh java3d1_2-solsparc.bin).
After installation, you may remove this file.
The Java 3D(TM) SDK includes several demo programs that can
verify correct installation. Assuming your Java 2 SDK is installed
    at ~/Solaris_JDK_1.2.2_05, try the following:
    cd ~/Solaris_JDK_1.2.2_05/demo/java3d/HelloUniverse
    java HelloUniverse
Note: Many more demos are available under the demo/java3d/
directory. Some of the demos require a maximum memory
pool larger than the default in java. To increase the
maximum memory pool to 64 meg, add the following command
line options to java or appletviewer:
    java: -mx64m
    appletviewer: -J-mx64m
You do not need to include the J3D jar files in your CLASSPATH,
nor do you need to include the J3D shared libraries in your PATH.
You should include "." in your CLASSPATH or ensure that CLASSPATH
    is not set.
I'm not sure how to set set/unset the CLASSPATH and I'm not sure if I was supposed to
place the binary file in the /usr/java1.1 or /usr/java or /usr/java1.2 directory.
    Can anyone help?

-- If jar size isn't an issue, I recommend using thick "weblogic.jar" instead of the thin "wl*.jar" jars. The thick jar is a better performer, is used by more customers, and has more features. Otherwise:
-- It might help to use the thin client jars from a later service pack - several service packs have been released since SP2, or you might even try using jars from a recent 9.2 SP or even 10.0.
-- Also, check to see if the 1.4.2 JVM is up-to-date and/or try switching from the Sun JVM to the JRockit JVM (or vice-versa).
-- Finally, it might help to check if your XP environment matches your Linux environment (JVM command-line, classpath, etc).
-- Also: The IIOP newsgroup may also have some advice. The thin client uses the IIOP protocol even when a "t3:" URL is specified by the application.

  • Java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDri

I am sorry in advance, because I know this topic has been posted many times, but I think after reading all the solutions and trying everything I may have messed myself up worse.
I am trying to run this simple script to connect to my SQL database

          System.out.println("Successfully connected");
          System.out.println();

          System.out.println("Driver Name: "

          System.out.println("Driver Version: "

  • Java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: COM.cloudscape.core.JDBCDriver

    O/S: Windows XP Pro
    Software: j2sdk1.4.1_01, j2sdkee1.4
    1/ First Problem:
when I read the book, it's said that I need to add the J2EE JAR files to the CLASSPATH variable:
    %J2EE_HOME%\lib\j2ee.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\locale
(the locale JAT file is not under the lib directory. Where is it located at?)
    2/ Second Problem:
I have a Java program called CreateAgency.java and a batch file called CreateAgency.bat. The batch looks like
    @echo off
    call %J2EE_HOME%\bin\setenv
    @echo on
    java -classpath .;%CPATH% CreateAgency
When I run the batch file to create a cloudscape database, I encounter 2 errors:
    * call %J2EE_HOME%\bin\setenv is not recognized as an internal or external command
    * java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: COM.cloudscape.core.JDBCDriver
What's the setenv file? Where is it stored?
    Where is JDBCDriver loated at?
In general, how can I fix these problems?

    I Figured it out!!!
    my solution to problem 1
I have left out the ;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\locale in my classpath. I also do not have this folder, and I don't know what it is supposed to do. I don't think it will cause a problem if you leave it out.
    my solution for problem 2.
I was able to get the CreateAgency Program to run.
If you want to get the create agency application to run then all you have to do is append the location of cloudscape.jar to the classpath.
On my system I have cloudscape.jar file located in
    %J2EE_HOME%\lib\system\cloudscape.jar
Append this line to the classpath. Then compile and run CreateAgency.java. It should work fine then.
Setenv is a bat file that should be stored in %J2EE_HOME%\bin\setenv. I do not have the setenv.bat file, so I get the same error.

    Hello,
my assumption is that you have switched on SSL client authentication on the port you use for the Secure Login Web Client (the optional request flag).
Please try to configure to use another port without SSL client authentication requesting for the Secure Login Web Client or switch off the "request" for the Client Authentication Mode in SSL configuration in NW SSL Admin on the existing port (if you do not need it).
    best regards
    Alexander Gimbel

What is <classname>? Is that the "ClassToRun" from my example?
If so, add the path to the "root" of the package hierarchy where your class can be found.
    For example:
    Your class is in C:\Bogus\Bogus1\com\mine\MyClass.class
    And its package is com.mine
Then your command looks like this:
    java -cp "C:\full\path\to\jarfile\mysql-connector-java-5.0.5-bin.jar;C:\Bogus\Bogus1" com.mine.MyClass
Or your class is in C:\Bogus\Bogus1\myjarfile.jar
Then your command looks like this:
java -cp "C:\full\path\to\jarfile\mysql-connector-java-5.0.5-bin.jar;C:\Bogus\Bogus1\myjarfile.jar" com.mine.MyClassEdit. Added jar info

Make sure that you have Jar file which holds this class file in classpath variable.
to find given class in jar file use..

  • I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Is Apple aware of this problem? No longer supported?

My web page uses a Java Applet to allow my visitors to replay chess games; the Chess Viewer Deluxe applet was written by Nikolai Pilafov some time ago and has been working properly for some time (until recently). I don't monitor this part of my site regularly so I am not sure when it began to fail. On his web site [http://chesstuff.blogspot.com/2008/11/chess-viewer-deluxe.html] he has a link to check LiveConnect object functionality (which fails for OBJECT tags). His recommendation is to "seek platform specific support which might be available from the JRE developers for your platform".
I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Until I checked the LiveConnect object functionality, I was unable to identify the source of the console error messages. This does seem to be the smoking gun.
Is Apple aware of this problem? Are these classes no longer supported? Has anyone else had this problem? You can attempt to recreate the problem locally by going to my web page: http://donsmallidge.com/DonSmallidgeChess.html
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I just went up to check the LiveConnect object functionality page AND IT WORKED THIS TIME! I must confess, this is very mysterious. I will do some more checking and reply here if I can determine why it is working now (and more importantly, why it didn't work before).

  • Failed to load servlet: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException

I've been working on a project with other developers and we've all have our own sections of a large web application that we are working on. When we are each done working on our part we send our JSPs, Beans, and servlets to the lead developer that then deploys one EAR file on our Test/QA server. I now asked the tech lead if he could send me the EAR file so I can load the application in its entirety on my local machine. When I start up the server, I get the error "Failed to load servlet: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException" for each one of my servlets. Even if the servlet path is correct I still get that error. I also tried removing the servlet in the web.xml file and then adding it again, but I still get that error. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Is this error appearing because I have two projects (my part of the application with only my code and the complete project from the EAR file) that point to the same servlets? I'm not sure how to resolve this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

That's what I thought too. But I'm installing an EAR file exported directly from another persons computer and the application is working fine on his machine. So the EAR file will automatically place the servlets in their proper path and directory structure when I import it. In any case I checked the paths myself and they are correct (the servlet file does exist in the same path). I also removed the servlet from the web.xml file and added it again through the websphere UI so if there was any miss-type in the directory path it would have been corrected by websphere. I also tried making a minor change to the servlet file and resaving it thinking that it might correct something or do something that would allow my websphere environment to see/recognize the existance of the servlet, but that did not work. I'm out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here is a part of my log file if it helps: Thanks!

  • Lookup form standalone client  fails with java.lang.ClassNotFoundException

    Hi,
I have an issue under Weblogic 11g when a standalone client tries to lookup for an ejb deployed in an ear.
The ear is correclty deployed without any errors and the EJB is correctly defined in the jndi tree (i see it using the jndi browser through the weblogic console).
When my client tries to lookup the EJB using its correct JNDI name, the client receives the following exception :

  • Java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: error's

Hi i tried connecting to a digi chat site for 3 days now and all it has been giving me is errors (for example the one below):
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.diginet.digichat.client.DigiChatApplet
Java will not load up the applet.
But i noticed one thing, when i used an Anonymizer Proxy software which enables you to surf the web hiding your real ip or given a fake one....(link below):
    http://www.anonymizer.com/consumer/products/anonymous_surfing/
When i used this software it loaded the digi chat applet up fine but, then had connection issues connecting to digi chat room which in return an error applet window popped up saying :
DigiChat could not connect to the specified host.
Please verify that the DigiChat Server is running and
that you are using the correct host name.
    java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out:
    connect
Note: I have 3 computers in my house hold and all of them access the same isp and all three have the same problem while connecting to this certain host.
If anyone has any ideas or regards to this malfunction or error please contact me.
    Thank you so much!!!

you have to download the jdbc drivers for a perticular database. These are nothing but jar files. You have to then add these jar files to yor project library. An your problem will be solved
