Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError in JDeveloper standalone CMSDK application

When I try to run my standalone Content Management application on my development PC against a Content Management SDK deployed on another server (using jvm runtime parameters as in CM WebStarterApp II -DIFS.DOMAIN.Name=ifs://xtorc1:1521:test:CMSDK -DIFS.STANDALONE.Mode=true -DIFS.SCHEMA.PASSWORD=welcome), I got " IFS-20103: Unable to get sessions". When I debug the code, I notice the actual error as following:(I've tested it using JDeveloper versions 10.1.2 and 9.0.4)
(in JDeveloper 10.1.2):
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: int oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.t2cCreateState(byte[], int, byte[], int, byte[], int, short, int, short[], byte[], byte[])
(in JDeveloper 9.0.4):
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: int oracle.jdbc.oci8.OCIDBAccess.make_c_state(boolean)
I've checked the metalink and the forums, however nothing helped me solve the problem so far. It seems like the JDeveloper is confusing the oci driver (the dll's) somehow, however I checked my PATH in my environment, everything seems OK.
I was trying to run a standalone IFS (CM SDK) web application in development machine,
in JDeveloper's embedded OC4J server, against the CM SDK domain on another
server where the Application Server resides. The logon page appears and after
submitting the form the following piece of code returns the error:
String schemaPassword = System.getProperty("IFS.SCHEMA.PASSWORD");
String domainName = System.getProperty("IFS.DOMAIN.Name");
try
//the exception is caused by the following line
m_LibraryService = LibraryService.startService(serviceName, schemaPassword,
null, domainName);
catch (Throwable e)
// the exception is caught here
Any ideas??
Özgür

I see that you're doing your conection using oci8; I had the same problem and my solution was changed to thin
For example: jdbc:oracle:thin:@IP_ADDRESS:PORT:SID
I hope it can help to you

    Thanks for your response. I found that, when I copied the shared library to /usr/lib and
    did: ldconfig -n /usr/lib it worked
    But the problem is, this is my computer, but the computers that I am going to run my actual
    JNI application, have restrictive permission. Could anyone please let me know how I can
    do the work without ldconfig. I mean is there anyway I can configure my .so file's path without
    copying it into the /usr/lib folder and without ldconfig?
    I will appreciate any reply. Thanks.

  • Jar file issue. EXCEPTION: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError

    Hey all,
    i'm writing an application that connects to Oracles SCM. I use a lot of the oracle SCM library. Anyway, my application running in oracles jDeveloper works just fine. However when i deploy it to an executable jar file i get the above exception. In the deployment settings i have tried both using the dependency analyzer and including all content. I have selected all libraries that are used in running it within jdeveloper for the deployment. I have posted to the SCM forumn but noone there has any ideas so just wondering if its a problem with jdeveloper or if its just something stupid i've done.
    find the below the full exception im getting when i run the executable jar file. i'd appreciate any ideas/suggestions anyone may have
    cheers
    paul

    This tutorial page for JNI API describes how and where Java looks for the dynamic libraries:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/stepbystep/_library.html
    And this is the home page of Java Native Interface (JNI) API:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/jni/index.html
    I have tried putting my executable jar in the same folder as
    this dll and including the dll in my path but both to no avail.Again: you mix binary code and JVM byte code. They are loaded
    differently and located differently. classpath means nothing for the binary code.
    "The Win32 VM uses a search path that includes the current directory for the process or one of the directories listed in the PATH environment variable"
    The DLL may be either in the folder where the application (the JRE/JDK) runs, that is where java.exe is, or some other directory on the system PATH (according to the PATH system variable).

    Armin,
    I haven't seen this one before.
    Is your browser set to run with German locale?
    Here is my standard reply for problems with applet deployment in 3.1. It is probably the case that some classes available in the JDeveloper environment were not deployed to your web server environment.
    Applet Deployment for JDev 3.1
    Deployment issues for client and server:
    1. Make sure you have the JDK 1.2 plugin installed on the client.
    2. If your webserver and database are not on the same machine, you will have to configure your applet
    differently, or install the Net8 Connection Manager. See the Oracle JDBC Developer's Guide for more
    information (exact location of applet info depends on which version of the DB).
    Creating your Applet within JDeveloper:
    1. Create a new workspace.
    2. Create a new Business Components project. You will define your data model and business logic in this
    project. This is effectively your middle tier, but can be deployed to any tier you choose. In this
    project you will use the Business Components wizard to create:
    a. entity objects for each of the tables/views you want to develop against
    b. view objects (and optionally view links, associations) for each of the entity objects or
    combination of entity objects
    c. application module(s) to represent your data model(s)
    3. Save and build your business components project.
    4. Create a new empty project to contain your applet code.
    5. Launch the Infobus DataForm wizard to create your DAC applet. Choose the app module you created in
    step 2 as a data source. (Alternately, you can create the applet from scratch using the controls and
    binding your sessioninfo object to your app module).
    Deployment Steps within JDeveloper:
    1. Deploy your business components project.
    a. decide how you will deploy your app module (local, visibroker, etc.)
    b. if you decide to deploy in local mode, use the Deployment Profile Wizard and choose 'Simple
    Archive', including all of the business components project's XML and .JAVA files in the archive.
    c. if you will deploy to visibroker, see the online help for deploying your business components,
    and see the Release Notes for additional changes you need to make to your applet project.
    2. (if deploying BC4J project in local mode) Create a library using the archive you generated in Step
    1. Add this library to your applet project from the Project Properties Libraries tab.
    3. Clear out a directory on your local machine where the deployment wizard can copy everything you
    need to deploy.
    4. Deploy your applet project.
    a. Run the JDeveloper Deployment Profile Wizard and choose the Web Application to Web Server option
    on Page 1.
    b. On page 2, select all of the .class files in your project that make up the applet.
    c. Select all the libraries listed and shuttle them to the selected list. The contents of these
    libraries will automatically be added to your applet's HTML file during deployment
    d. Give the .jar file a name, and run the deployment to generate that jar file.
    e. select the location of the 'clean' directory you created in step 3.
    Deploying to your WebServer:
    1. Copy everything that the deployment process placed in your 'clean' directory to your WebServer.
    If you deployed your BC4J project locally, you will need to deploy the archive file containing your
    business components to the webserver along with all of the other archives.
    2. If you want to put the dependency archives in a different location from the applet's HTML file
    under the webserver root, then you need to set the CODEBASE tag in the HTML file to the (relative)
    location of the archives.
    Troubleshooting:
    1. Try both Netscape and IE. Different Browsers sometimes give different errors and one might be more
    helpful/indicative of the problem's source.
    2. Use the Java Console to get a more detailed stack trace. For Netscape, choose
    Communicator->Tools->Java Console.

  • Install FB 2 on vista got java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no swt-win32-3139 in java.library.path

    The following is a re-posting of a thread regarding
    UnsatisfiedLinkError issue. One author posted the workaround below.
    That workaround was posted multiple times by mistake, and the
    author asked Moderator to delete the extra posting.
    An operating error caused the topic to be deleted instead of
    the individual messages. I am reposting the content of the thread,
    and apologize to the authors who participated in this thread
    before.
    Workaround :
    I experienced the same issue when I tried to install Flex on
    a new Vista system. Here's how I corrected it:
    1) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 2\plugins
    2) Look for the file
    "org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.1.2.jar". You will need to open
    this in a file compression program such as WinRar or WinZip. If you
    don't have such a program you can try:
    2a) Copy (make sure you COPY, not MOVE) the file to another
    location, such as your desktop.
    2b) Rename the file with a ".zip" extension (i.e. change
    ".jar" to ".zip"). NOTE: You will not see the file extension if
    your system is configured to hide extensions. In this case, open a
    Windows Explorer window ("My Computer", etc.) and press the "Alt"
    key. A menu bar will appear. Select "Tools -> Folder Options".
    Select the "View" tab, and look for "Hide extensions for known file
    types". Uncheck the box, then click OK.
    2c) You should now be able to right-click the file and use
    Vista's built-in .zip extraction to extract the contents to a
    folder.
    3) Within the org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.1.2.jar file
    is a file called "swt-win32-3139.dll". Copy this file to
    C:\Windows\System32\ (You will be asked for a confirmation when you
    do this).
    Once that is done, Flex should run correctly. You can now
    delete the copy of the .jar file that you made, as well as the
    folder created by Vista's .zip extraction (if applicable).
    Hope this helps!

    This is the response I got from support:
    This is bug 22205 and will be fixed in the release of the Exchange Groupware Portlet Suite 3.0.4 at the end of April. The workaround in the interim is to copy the D:\Program Files\plumtree\jre folder from the installation CD (or another working portal server) onto the problem server. Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you. Neal Rapoporthttp://www.portalconsultant.com

    Please guide me, what I am missing? Thanks in advance...

    There are only a very very few and rare good reasons to use the oci8 driver with Java (and I can't remember any of them at the moment). Performance is not one of them. If at all possible, you should use the Type IV (thin) driver instead.
    The classes12.jar (or zip) is for use with Java 1.2 and 1.3. There are different versions of this jar for each version of the database, but they're fundamentally cross-compatible; all the post-8i drivers are supposed to work with all the post-8i databases (and the 8i stuff also mostly works too). There's been a succession of bug fixes and minor functional changes, as well as some very substantial perfromance improvements. If you are developing brand-new code, I very stongly encourage you to use the very latest driver (currently 10.2.0.1, I think). If you are using a Java version greater than 1.3, then you should use the ojdbc14.jar instead (and don't try to use both classes12.jar and ojdbc14.jar, they have the sameclasses in them). I think the 10.2.0.1 ojdb14.jar was the first one certified for Java 1.5, and it's significantly faster than the 9i drivers. Anyone considering an upgrade of drivers should plan to do a good regression test; as mentioned before, there are some very small functional differences. You can download the latest drivers here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    If you insist on using oci, then you probably need to do an Oracle client installation on your Windows box. If you stay with the 9i driver, the full client install is huge; however, you can almost certainly use the 10g "Instant Client", which is a pared-down version, with just the minimal stuff to support an application. That's available here:

  • Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError in Eclipse 3.2.1

    Deal all,
    sorry for the basic question, i met the following error when i try to use swing through swt , "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no swt-win32-3235 in java.library.path"
    and i already add "org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.2.1.v3225.jar" in "Java build path"
    so how can i handle this ?
    thank you in advance!

    I had same problem with using jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0. I extracted the reported dll files from org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.2.1.v3235.jar and put the them in ..\jdk\bin that my jdeveloper runs and the problem got resolved

  • Weblogic server 8.1 JNI module deployment java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError

    This is on the weblogic 8.1 Solaris platform.
    We have a module in our application which uses the native shared library and makes JNI called from the J2EE application. We have added the .so files to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable in our managed server startup scripts. When we start our servers the module works fine. But when we redeploy the J2EE application, the java code is changed but we start getting java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError exception when the module is invoked. We are using the staged mode for deployment. We have to shut down the managed servers and restart them every time for this module to start working after the redeployment of the J2EE application.
    Is this a known problem with the JNI based application. Is there any setting that we are missing? Has this problem been fixed in any of the service packs?

    Have you checked to see if your file descriptor setting is set high enough? Disabling native IO is not a very good solution as it will drastically reduce performance.

  • Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path

    hi,
    i am trying to connect to an oracle 8.1.7 database from my application running on tomcat 4.0.3 / jdk1.4 /windows nt.
    using the thin jdbc-driver (classes12.zip) everything works fine.
    when i try using the oci8-driver, i get an error-message saying:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path
    i have the oracle-client installed on my machine.
    the ocijdbc8.dll can be found in D:\server\oracla81\bin
    the environment-variables PATH, CLASSPATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH (i'm not sure if this has any meaning on nt) all point to this directory.
    i start tomcat using the following option: -Djava.library.path="D:\server\oracla81\bin"
    my application can see this variable:
    System.out.println("java.library.path: "+System.getProperty("java.library.path"));
    prints out the correct value.
    then i try to load the library by myself:
    try {
    System.loadLibrary("ocijdbc8");
    System.out.println("Successfully Loaded");
    } catch(Exception e) {
    System.out.println("LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not properly set");
    e.printStackTrace();
    everything works fine! the library is loaded!
    finally i try to connect to the database and the application throws the mentioned exception:
    lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path

    It is probably JDK 1.4 that causes the problem. I was able to get strange errors with that version of the JDK with code that worked fine using 1.31.

  • Error loading win32com: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no win32com in java

    Hi all
    I am getting this error
    "Error loading win32com: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no win32com in java.library.path"
    while running my program.
    Please suggest me any solution for this
    Thanks
    Balasubramaniam

    OK...here's what I did.
    Assumptions: The javacomm20-win32.zip extracted into c:\work\commapi. JDeveloper was extracted into c:\jdev902.
    Step 1: copy c:\work\commapi\win32com.dll c:\jdev902\jdk\bin\win32com.dll
    Step 2: copy c:\work\commapi\comm.jar c:\jdev902\jdk\lib\comm.jar
    Step 3: copy c:\work\commapi\javax.comm.properties c:\jdev902\jdk\lib\javax.comm.properties
    Result: Compilition in JDeveloper is OK but at runtime "Error loading win32com: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no win32com in java.library.path"
    Maybe the JRE is running the show...
    Step 4: copy c:\work\commapi\win32com.dll c:\jdev902\jdk\jre\bin\win32com.dll
    Step 5: copy c:\work\commapi\comm.jar c:\jdev902\jdk\jre\lib\ext\comm.jar
    Step 6: copy c:\work\commapi\javax.comm.properties c:\jdev902\jdk\jre\lib\javax.comm.properties
    This both compiles and works at runtime but I'm confused. The Messages buffer in JDeveloper suggests that the JDK alone is running the show:
    C:\jdev902\jdk\bin\javaw.exe -ojvm -XXdebug,quiet,port1381 -classpath C:\work\WorkspaceApplet\JavaXCommTest\classes;C:\jdev902\jdev\lib\jdev-rt.jar;C:\jdev902\jdk\lib\comm.jar gov.seattle.scl.cams.serial.RekPortTest
    Debugger attempting to connect to local process.
    but when you get down to it somehow jdk\jre is playing the game too.
    Any explanations?

    P.S Please email me if possible ([email protected]) so i can check it a lot easier, as this is pretty important. Once again cheers for any help!

    ompiles fine, and then produces the following error message at runtime:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: getCurrentMemoryArea0

    at javax.realtime.AsyncEventHandler.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at javax.realtime.Timed$1.<init>(Unknown Source)

    As far as I know, this error will occur only when you miss any DLL required by your application.
    Or you didnt set the correct path of the DLL used by your application

  • Java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError - Urgent please help

    Hi,
    I want to thank you for looking into this problem first.
    I have a very headache problem for the past week. I have an applet that uses JNI to call an existing dll to get the system resources. It works fine on windows 2000 server with IE 5.0. The dll get loaded fine and the function call is working fine.
    However, now I tried to move the applet to an application for me to test with jbuilder, I have problems and I get the error java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ooInit.
    Does anyone know why this is happening in Jbuilder. I traced to see if the dll get loaded with System.loadlibrary("dll"), and it seems to load the library. But when I call the ooInit() native method, it throws that exception.
    Please help. This will be greatly appreciated and I can do something for you guys in return.
    Thank you so much.
    Regards,
    guna

    Here, for the benefit of others who might search for this, is my approach to resolving this error.
    Two things to note:
    1. I didn't worry about paths, etc. - I was in a hurry so I just copied files into required directories.
    2. I named both the Java and C files "mainFrame". I have not subsequently checked to see if this is required, since it worked for me.
    Summary of getting jni routine to work with Jbuilder:
    created Java project mintest, two principle classes - mainFrame and WelcomeFrame
    key code fragments:
    --------------------------------------- mainFrame --------------------------------------------------
    package mintest;
    import javax.swing.JLabel;
    import javax.swing.JButton;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    import java.awt.GridBagLayout;
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.MouseEvent;
    import java.awt.event.MouseAdapter;
    public class mainFrame {
        boolean packFrame = false;
        WelcomeFrame frame = new WelcomeFrame();
        public static native int cRoutine(int value);
        static {System.loadLibrary("mainFrame"); }
    public mainFrame() {
        //Pack frames that have useful preferred size info, e.g. from their layout
        //Validate frames that have preset sizes
        if (packFrame) {
          frame.pack();
        else {
          frame.validate();
        // Center the frame
        Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
        Dimension frameSize = frame.getSize();
        if (frameSize.height > screenSize.height) {
          frameSize.height = screenSize.height;
        if (frameSize.width > screenSize.width) {
          frameSize.width = screenSize.width;
        frame.setLocation( (screenSize.width - frameSize.width) / 2,
                          (screenSize.height - frameSize.height) / 2);
        frame.setVisible(true);
        try {
          jbInit();
        catch (Exception ex) {
          ex.printStackTrace();
    * Main method
    * @param args String[]
    static public void main(String[] args) {
      try {
        UIManager.setLookAndFeel(UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName());
      catch (Exception e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
      new mainFrame();
            cRoutine(1);     // this works at this point...
            System.out.println("cRoutine - should be 4: " + cRoutine(3));
      private void jbInit() throws Exception {
    }--------------------------------------- end of mainFrame --------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------- (portions of) WelcomeFrame --------------------------------------
    package mintest;
    import java.awt.*;
    ..... more imports, setting up of window, buttons, etc. .... iValue is an integer....
      public void jToggleButton1_mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
          jToggleButton1.setText("cRoutine in: " + iValue + "  out: " + (iValue =
                                   mainFrame.cRoutine(iValue)));
      }--------------------------------------- end of (portions of) WelcomeFrame -----------------------------
    mainFrame was compiled with Jbuilder into a class file, makeFrame.class. That was copied into
    the C:\Borland\JBuilder2005\jdk1.4\bin directory, and javah was run to create the C header file:
    javah -jni mainFrame
    This generated:
    --------------------------------------- mainFrame.h generated by javah ----------------------------------
    /* DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated */
    #include <jni.h>
    /* Header for class mainFrame */
    #ifndef _Included_mainFrame
    #define _Included_mainFrame
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    extern "C" {
    #endif
    * Class:     mainFrame
    * Method:    cRoutine
    * Signature: (I)I
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_mainFrame_cRoutine
      (JNIEnv *, jclass, jint);
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    #endif
    #endif--------------------------------------- end of mainFrame.h generated by javah -------------------------
    OKAY, HERE COMES THE CRITICAL STEP. DESPITE THE FACT THE COMMENT SAYS DO NOT EDIT, THIS FILE HAS TO BE EDITED TO INCLUDE THE PACKAGE NAME, LIKE THIS:
    --------------------------------------- modified mainFrame.h ----------------------------------
    /* DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated */
    #include <jni.h>
    /* Header for class mainFrame */
    #ifndef _Included_mainFrame
    #define _Included_mainFrame
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    extern "C" {
    #endif
    * Class:     mainFrame
    * Method:    cRoutine
    * Signature: (I)I
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_mintest_mainFrame_cRoutine
      (JNIEnv *, jclass, jint);
    #ifdef __cplusplus
    #endif
    #endif--------------------------------------- end of modified mainFrame.h -------------------------
    This file is then copied to the C:\Borland\BCC55\Include directory. The C code source is placed
    in the C:\Borland\BCC55\Bin directory. Here is the C code - note that it has the package name in
    the function name:
    --------------------------------------- mainFrame.c ----------------------------------
    #include <mainFrame.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <string.h>
    /* must link gpib-32.obj for Windows*/
    #include <windows.h> /*if using Windows */
    void main(){
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL
    Java_mintest_mainFrame_cRoutine(JNIEnv *env, jobject callingObj,jint invalue)
    return (jint) invalue+1;
    }--------------------------------------- end of mainFrame.c -------------------------
    This is now compiled on the command line (from the C:\Borland\BCC55\Bin directory) using:
    bcc32 -tWD -I\Borland\bcc55\include -L\Borland\bcc55\lib mainFrame.c
    Parameters: -tWD creates Windows DLL file
    -I is path to include directory (this is where mainFrame.h is located)
    -L is path to library directory
    Compilation produces mainFrame.dll in the C:\Borland\BCC55\Bin directory. This is copied to the C:\Borland\JBuilder2005\jdk1.4\jre\bin directory so Jbuilder can find it. Then it works.
    So, the key step is adding the package name after javah has generated the header file (and similarly using the package name in the .c source file.)
    Hope this is useful.
