Java launcher dont work on firefox, does on safari WAssup with this ?

Logicly if I uninstall Firefox and then reinstall it, the problem will go away. How do I do this please.?

Actually, I have both plugins installed in Mac OS X 10.6, verified by entering '''about:plugins''' in the SeaMonkey 2 Location Bar (address bar)
Java Embedding Plugin 0.9.7.3
<br>File name: MRJPlugin.plugin
Java Plug-In 2 for NPAPI Browsers
<br>File name: JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin
This is a new iMac computer I just set up last week running OS X 10.6.4 with all current Apple Software Updates. I have SeaMonkey 2 installed on it, but not Firefox.
I have Java 6 Update 20 ( 1.6.0_20 ) installed, verified by going to the test link in the KB article I posted above,
http://javatester.org/version.html
Java 1.6.0_20 (referred to as "Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2" on the page cor-el linked) should be available from Apple's [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338 Software Update] feature.
Another test link you can try (from about:plugins):
http://browserspy.dk/java.php
I think that the Java Embedding plugin is something that Mozilla includes with all its current browsers (Firefox, SeaMonkey, Camino) based on: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/OSX.html#Java

  • Problems enabling Java/cookies to work on firefox macbook pro

I am running Firefox.   I've checked that Java is enabled and I have the latest update.  Yet it is only this one site that it keeps giving me the same message " enable java and cookes" to view site.    Is this the issue where firefox does this on sites it deems unsafe?  and if so how do I sort it out.  Up until 2 days ago I was able to access this site without any issues like this.  This is on my macbook pro.  I went into system setting and found Java upload so it's there.  when I go into preferences on firefox though there is nothing at all about enabling cookies or java??   Should I revert back to Safari to stop this issue?
    Cheers

I tried the solutions on your websites (and some other sites) but they dont solve the problem.
    kind regards

Since these are media sites, my initial suspicion is a Flash issue. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still does not connect to any network that indicates a hardware problem.
If you only can't connect to your network that indicates a problem with your network.

  • Photoshop cs6 won't allow me to highlight my existing text layers. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Photoshop cs6 won't allow me to highlight my existing text layers. I select the text tool and the text layer I want to edit, hover over text and each time I attempto to edit a new layer is created. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Be sure you go to Adobe's Web Site and make sure there are no Updates for CS6
    http://www.adobe.com
Remember if you have trouble with a software issue it is the software and not caused by the Mac you are using
Many users simply don't remember when you upgrade software you normally have to go to 3rd party web sites and update software as well.

  • Firefox feedback section does not work in firefox 6 or other browsers with a more sane update schedule

I tried to post this in the feed back section but it does not appear to be working in firefox version 6.
I have been working with computers for 30 Years, used Firefox since version 1.0 recommended it through websites that I develop and for people that I work with - I am afraid that will be coming to an end unless you guys stop the nonsense.
I do not like how you assume I want a new version very 6 weeks.
There is no clear documentation of the changes for each release. I Do not have time for this – it should be simple – it’s not -
There is no way to know why my add-ons are disabled with every update. And I have a basic vanilla system with a Java Console Broken, Kaspersky URL Advisor – Broken – vendors are going to stop supporting the Firefox browser if you break their code every time there is an update – and if I was them I would – this is the second time this has been broken in 6-months.
WTF - Can't you guys just write a patch or fix a security problem without a version change and breaking everything? I want stable and secure - that appears to have stopped with Firefox version 3.6
I know it’s free but there is a ton of free software I choose not to run because it is crap -

<< I Tried to post it through this link -
    http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback#sad
There was no visual clue that it took the feedback - just sat on the screen with my information in the text box. >>
The same thing happens with me.

  • Why would the Java Plugin not work in Firefox 5 on Mac SnowLeopard? I have the most recent version but am unable to use any Java features on Firefox 5. Firefox 3.6 works with the same Java but 5 will not.

Most recent version of Java and firefox. Java Applications will start to load but end up in an infinite loading loop.

Well, it's what I did to get my Java working in Firefox 4. I installed both binaries into my Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. The version was newer that what was previously installed (newer version is 0.9.7.5). It solved the Java problems I was having. My inital problem was that Java would not initiate and no applets would run in Firefox version 4 which I just installed a few days ago.
I know the readme.txt. says it is not compatible with version 4, but the release date on 0.9.7.5 is after the release date of Firefox 4 and so that was I tried it. I figure there was nothing to lose as at worst it woud update my two plug-in files. Nothing was going to be changed otherwise. If you try it, it might work.

  • I need to place the Maltese cross on a web page. IE works, Safari works, but Firefox does not. It is wingding character.

The Maltese cross is in the winding font family. I have the following HTML on the pages:
    <pre><nowiki>
    <span class="cross" style="font-family: wingdings; vertical-align: top;">X</span></nowiki></pre>
The inline element <span> tag is in a <font> tag.
    CSS: span.cross { color: #000; font-size: 16pt; font-weight: bold; }
This has been working for years in IE 5, 6, 7 & 8, works also in safari (latest rev), but does not work in FireFox rev 4.0.1. FoxFire displays a large X instead of the Maltese cross.
Other than this small problem FoxFire works great, especially with HTML5 & CSS3.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    DonL

This concerns the Maltese cross problem. When I posted the problem, the data inside "<" and ">" characters is lost. The only thing that showed was the "X".
I posted the HTML used to display the cross w/o these chars.
    span class="cross" style="font-family: wingdings; vertical-align: top" X /span
    Thanks for any help.

  • Java won't work on Firefox, while it works on Safari on a Mac.

I have a MacBook Pro and downloaded Firefox 3.6 for it. Now I've realized that Java plugins won't work in Firefox for some reason, while they do work in Safari that came with the Mac. The problem wouldn't be with Java, since it works on Safari.
The Java-related plug-ins I have installed in Firefox are the Java Embedding Plug-in 0.9.7.3 and Java Plug-in 2 for NPAPI browsers.
When I go to a page that contains a Java applet, there is no error, the page says it's done loading, and there's a blank spot where an applet is supposed to be.

Actually, I have both plugins installed in Mac OS X 10.6, verified by entering '''about:plugins''' in the SeaMonkey 2 Location Bar (address bar)

  • Gmail doesn't work in firefox; does work in internet explorer

    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
    Firefox 27.0.1
    IE 11.0.9600.16428
my email account is with gmail.com
Everything works fine with IE; I connect to my gmail account and everything works normally.
When I use Firefox, I can login to my gmail account with no problem, but when I open an
email message, I see the message for 2 or 3 seconds, then I get dumped to a "re-enter your password" page. When I login again, I'm sent back to the same email message, I see it for 2 or 3 seconds, then it's back to the "re-enter your password" page. It doesn't matter which email message I try to view; works fine in IE, but "re-enter your password" in Firefox.

Does Gmail work better in a private browsing window? This is a test to see whether cookies are a factor. You can create a new private window by either:
    * Pressing Ctrl+Shift+p
    * orange Firefox button (or File menu) > New Private Window
More generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
