Java.nio.BufferUnderflowException in adapter engine

Hi experts,
I checked the adapter engine for file comm.channel and found error as:
Delivering the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.nio.BufferUnderflowException.
I tried to restart but it did not worked.
Please help on this..

This might be due to out of memory or space error in the file system.  Check your file system and see there is no space disk error.  Create some room for memory by deleting some files and run the interface to see whether you are able to read or write the file using file adapter.

    Hi,
The DCN protocol is synchronous so if the security system scan sends a byte to the port 56090 the protocol will break. I recommend you configure the system scan to not interfere with DCN.

    Hi Gopi,
Last time this happened to us, we traced the problem to convoluted CIM data in SLD.
Look at oss note 764176, to see if you have the same symptons.
We deleted all XI related CIM data from SLD, restart our XI systems, and then followed OSS note 764176 to fix the CIM data.
Also please make note that there is a hot fix now for the following

  • Message split on adapter engine for the java based IDoc adapter

    Hi Guys,
Do you know if message split on adapter engine is available for the java based IDoc adapter on the single stack (PI 7.31)?

    Mapping is one to many.
Each IDoc content has been compared manually against the xsd schema and it was fine.
I know that old way of modifying xsd is still possible.

Did you find a solution to this? Having a similar error right now.

  • Installaing decentral Adapter Engine (Java EE) 7.1 Including Enhanc

    Dear All
we are installaing decentral Adapter Engine (Java EE) 7.1 Including Enhancement package 1 on Linux with database DB2.To do installation we have followed the installation guide "Adapter Engine (Java EE) 7.1 Including Enhancement Package 1 on Linux: IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and WindowsTarget"
Accoridng to that document "In the Welcome screen, choose the required SAPinst installation option under the node SAP EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1Installation >OptionsOptional Standalone Units >Partner Connectivity Kit." we have followed the same.
The installation has been completed successfully. But to do post-installation activities the java url in not comming up.
,we have tried with physical host and ip address as well. From os level we have found that server0 process is in running status.
I am not sure why the installation guide is asking us to follow  Process Integration 7.1Installation >OptionsOptional Standalone Units >Partner Connectivity Kit?
Will you please let me know whether this is the correct procedure for Installation of Adapter engine on Pi 7.1 EHP1
is there any prerequisite steps are there for adapter enginee
    Thanks and Regards
    ravikiran.CH

    Hello
From your description, it appears that you have installed a PCK and not a decentral Adapter Engine.
I guess you need to follow Process Integration 7.1Installation
    -> Optional Standalone Units
    -> Adapter Engine
You can undeploy the PCK by following the steps in the note #1295094 Initialization of PI 7.1 XITOOLS fails.

  • Java program to restart failed message in Adapter Engine

    Hi,
    I am using PI 7.0.
Could anyone tell me whether there is an automated job or URL I can schedule in order to periodically resend messages sitting in the Adapter Engine receive queue that are in status System Error, Holding, or Waiting?
I want to avoid having to monitor the system through message monitoring and manually resending the messages...
    Many thanks
    Brian

    Hi,
    please check this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/05/b1b740f83db533e10000000a155106/content.htm
    Restarting
Instead of restarting messages with errors manually with message monitoring, you can schedule a job to automatically restart these messages. This is possible for all messages for which the number of defined restart attempts has been exceeded (messages with the System Error status).
You can define one or more rules for each job to restart messages; these rules contain conditions that a message must meet in order to be restarted by the job. At least one of the defined rules must be met for archiving to take place.
    Rescheduling
A standard job to reschedule messages is created automatically. The job runs once a day and ensures that messages lost as a result of database failure, for example, are rescheduled. You can schedule additional rescheduling jobs; however, you cannot define rules for them.

  • Xi prioritization in adapter engine (ae, af, adapter framework, java, jca)

    Hi Gurus,
We have both high and low priority messages using the SOAP Receiver Channel of the Central AE. How can we make sure that High Prio messages ALWAYS get a thread right away when entering the AE? Installing a separate AE is not an option.
When I look in RWB->Component Monitoring->Adapter Engine->Engine Status in the Queues tab, I see this:
    SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/SystemRecv true       1243           5(5)              5
    [http://<xi>/mdt/SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/SystemRecv]
When a new High Prio message enters, it can take 4 hours before it gets processed, because there are 1243 erroneous Low Prio messages also using the 5 available Threads...
This delay is of course unacceptable for High Prio messages.
    Thanks.
    Gr, Wout

OK, forgot to mention we're on PI 7.0 and no intention of upgrading.
Has anybody tried to copy the SOAP Adapter deployment descriptor, change the namenamespace from "SOAP"  and "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System" into "MySOAP" and "http://company.com", copy the SOAP Adapter Metadata to the same namenamespace and redeploy it?
This way you have created your own Queue, like ...
    SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.Call.maxConsumers 5
    SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.Recv.maxConsumers 5
    SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.Rqst.maxConsumers 5
    SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.Send.maxConsumers 5
    MySOAP_http://company.com.Call.maxConsumers 5
    MySOAP_http://company.com.Recv.maxConsumers 5
    MySOAP_http://company.com.Rqst.maxConsumers 5

    Raphael,

  • How to delete / cancel messages in PI adapter engine

    Hello expert,
we have a scenario File (EOIO) --> PI --> ABAP. Today the file we received is big (>100mb), apparently PI can't handle it, and we got error
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException:
Error transmitting the message over HTTP. Reason: java.io.IOException: Error writing to server.
seems like PI adapter engine got problem while delivering the huge message to ABAP integration engine. In RWB message monitoring, the message is set to Error. Unfortunately the file has been picked up many times, thus the huge message is stuck in adpater engine. In RWB message monitoring, I can see the message listed many times and status is HOLDING because the previous message can not be delivered to Intergration engine. I want to delete/cancel all the messages, I tried in RWB message monitoring to cancell the messages, however after cancelling one message, it crashed the PI system and cause a reboot.
My question is; Is there some place in NWA (net weaver admin) to force all the messages to be deleted? (Because deleting/cancel in RWB message monitoring does not work because it causes system crash).
    Thanks

  • XI message status at Adapter engine level using a table (SAP table)

    Hello Experts,
XI message status at Adapter engine level using a table (SAP table).
We want to write a custom report using ABAP so Pls tell why the status u2018Holdingu2019 and u2018To be deliveredu2019 are present in message monitoring of RWB but not in the status (MSGSTATE) field of SXMSPMAST table.
My need is to write a report to get the messages based on the these status from table level.
Please let me know the table name and field name for this and the table name for the desciption of the status of XI messages at Adapter level.
    Thanks
    Gopesh

    Hi Gopesh,
the Adapter Engine Messaging System messages are on the Java schema,
    i.e., see the following -

Please give me the FTP connection parameters mentioned in the channel.

  • J2ee Adapter engine installation error

    Hi All,
I am installing XI with NW07. I had an ERP2005 server here with ABAP only. I installed Java Add In to it with usage type PI.
Now I tried to install J2ee adapter engine. It showed if i want to run a new installation or continue the old one.
I tried to install installation of J2ee adapter engine from a new directory.
It is stuck in between. I choose it as a MCOD to existing DB.
I can see a new instance for this in MMC and it is up and running.
But the old java instance is not running. None of the Proceses of Old Java instance (dispatcher, server0 and SDM) are not running. Did I do something wrong?
    My JVM_BOOTSTRAP.OUT says this:-

I ran the prerequisite checks before starting the installation.
It shows everything ok except it told me to have a environmental variable as CPIC_MAX_CONV with the value 200 at least. And I did that.
All the other checks were ok.
All are on SAME OS and same machine.
I have J2EE Adapter Engine installation guide, but there is nothing for this in that
In Instance properties file for the old instance it is showing the instance ID which it is not able to find.
In the configtool of both the instances, the instance ID is same under cluster_data and this is of the newer instance
How did the instance ID and data got replaced in the configtool of old instance. I mean the new instance has its new directory or folder.
    What Could be the problem?
Did I do anything wrong here?
    Kindly help

    Hi,
