Java not enabled :(

Hi All
Not something that I use, but a family member has pointed out to me that some areas of Yahoo do not work anymore, one area being the online games, all we get are please enable Java error messages, Jave is enabled in all browsers tried to no avail.
When I questioned the family they said that it had been like it a long time, so I have no ideas what is causing this.
Any ideas anyone...

Hi JMVP
OK, do not know how this happened, but here is an update.....
I installed the update as suggested and did the Repair Permissions, first off still the same.
Safari and Opera now work OK...
Mozilla, Explorer, Camino and Firefox still do not....
How many browsers can you use at once

    Java Not Enabled
WebEx Player cannot be installed or recording cannot be playback online because Java is disabled in your Web browser. Please enable Java and then try again. For instructions on enabling Java, see your browser's online Help.

  • One website says java not enabled , yet it is in the control panel

When trying to access a puzzle site, it states that java is not enabled.
Ihave enabled java for the firefox browser in my control panel but am still denied website access. Now what?

The message is "Sorry, you must have javascript enabled to view this site."
Despite similar names, Java and javascript are completely unrelated. Unfortunately, even with javascript enabled on my system, I get this message when using Safari, on 10.4.10.
I don't know if the bug is in Safari or the website itself, but a simple solution is to install Firefox. Having a second browser installed is a handy thing for situations like this.
    gopednation.com works with Firefox.

  • Bug? Java not enabled

I have been trying to work out what I can and can't do on the Touchpad all day. I can't do my banking for one. It doesn't seem to like https sites. Now I have gotten a red letter remark that my browser is not supported and "Java is not enabled in your browser". Is this a bug?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

I don't think it's a bug; WebOS simply doesn't support Java and more specifically the browser doesn't support Java applets. If you go to http://www.java.com you will find you cannot render the test page. It's not just banking pages that are effected a number of the web conferencing tools use Java applets and enterprise applications use them.

  • I tried to use net banking in my iPad and got a message java not enabled in your browser. What to do?

JavaScript is already enabled but still getting the error. Please help.

Java and javascript are not the same thing. It appears you are trying to access your banking using a browser rather than using an app.  Check if your bank has an app.

  • Java Not Enabling On Certain Website

I bought my Macbook for a couple of weeks ago and hadn't had any problems until yesterday.
Now, when I pull up my facebook homepage Java won't enable. I have checked my Java and all the right boxes seem to be checked. Java still works on all other webpages except facebook. I am able to pull up my facebook on other computers just fine. I have also tried other facebook accounts on my computer and they too come up without Java enabled.
So, I downloaded Opera to try instead of Safari, but Opera had the same issue! Any advice on why this might be happening???

Hi, and a warm welcome to the forums!

Follow this links process to enable the Java Preferences Panel and allows you more control.

Also, try a game called Supremacy1914 and run that game.  Its an outside browser game (Essintially) that runs via Java.  It should give you a security option to allow the certificate to play the game.  Some games require certificates and depending on your user account, it could be blocked.
Java panel is now stored in the System Preferences > Other

Same PC as I used to post the question. When I go to the "plug in check" page, it shows I am up to date and it is not disabled.

  • Jave installed but not enabled

Sorry, I'm sure this is a basic question, that I should be able to figure out myself, but hopefully someone will be able to assist me. I am trying to enable Java so that I can use/access programs that uses the Sun Java applet. I've gone to my control panel and see that it's on my computer. I've tried to re-download/intall it but it says I already have it even after removing it. I've done the "test" and it says that it's intstalled but not enabled. I've gone to Tools--internet options--Security--Custom-- there only seems to be a java option under scripting, but I've seen recommendations to make sure it's enabled in another section, but that isn't an option. I do not see the Java coffee cup logo in my control panel either and I can not access the Sun Java Console under tools either. It's there, but nothing happens when I click on it. Sorry so long, just trying to give some background into what I've already tried. Thanks for any help

I also have an hs_err file on my desktop that seems to be related.

  • Java script not enabled

I want to email a web page to my friends but the illustrations in the web page do not show up in the email. Instead the is a note that says "Java Script not enabled." If I go to Safari Preferences and go to the security tab, Java Script is checked to be enabled. How can I get these illustrations into my email? What is the problem?
    Thank you,
    Carl

  • Java not installed/enabled

    Hi folks,
I've upgraded to Lion and Safari 5.1 on my MBA.  After installation, when I go to site that requires Java scripts, it says that "We are unable to process your request.  Please check that Java is installed and enabled".
There's no way for Mac users to go to Java.com to download and update as it's all done through Software update.
When I go to Safari's preferences under the Security tab I've had "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript" checked but it's still no go.
I have my MBP on SL and Safari 5.1 and those same sites work like a charm.  Does anyone know what I'm missing here?
    Thanks in advance.

Any resolution on this?  Firefox/Chrome my cifs work but smart tunnel RDP doesn't, and in IE my shares don't work but RDP smart tunnel does....
Cisco, if you're not going to do something good, just don't do it.  The SSL VPN is a hack job.

  • Java not working since upgrade to Firefox 7. My coupon printer states I do not have Java so it will not print. Java states it is incompatable with Firefox 7 = No win situation.

I print coupons through Smart Source and it worked fine a few months ago. The site states I do not have Java enabled. I go through the Firefox tab to ensure Java IS enabled. The add-ons it states that Java is no longer compatible with Firefox 7 and there are no updates to correct the situation. I have tried ALL the troubleshooting suggestions but NOTHING has worked. I've tried uninstalling/deleting all prior or duplicate versions of Java and reinstalling the latest version but NOTHING has worked.

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.

  • Need flash player 8 and java script enabled to play videos on ipad, need help please.

need flash player 8 and java script enabled on my ipad in order to view videos.  please help.

iPads do not directly support Flash.
You can look for Flash Browsers in the App store for some options to try. Support is not 100%, but maybe one may work for you.  Browsers like Puffin, Skyfire, Photon etc...
IPads do fully support JavaScript.  Just make sure its turned on under Settings->Safari->Advanced->JavaScript.
If you require Java, which is completely different to JavaScript, again there are some browsers in the App store that support it.  Search for "Java browsers" in the store.
