Java on 10.5 after Feb 1 2013?

As of today, Feb 1 2013, Java 1.6 is no longer supported by Oracle.
Today when attempting to use a Java applet in a browser, the familiar "inactive plug-in" screen appears, but of course clicking it launches Software Update to look for an updated Java version, which does not exist.
I cannot upgrade OS X on my 2006 iMac. Java 1.7 is not available for os x 10.5. Does this mean I cannot use Java any more? Is there a workaround?
Any help much appreciated.

Are you trying to login to an account you already made (on an iPhone or similar) or create a new iCloud account?

I lost my Ipod In Monaca mall yesterday, Feb -09-2013.

I was at Monaca Mall yesterday , in the afternoon with my boyfriend and my service dog.
I am deaf and I used my ipod a lot for listen to musics to exercise my hearing, i have sign
language classes in there, and it is the only away i can get a hold of my family when i am
not home.
Since i can not answer calls i used my ipod to keep my mom up to date while i am out
since my cell does not cover international calls.
So I went to walked my dog and then we went to the Monaca Mall, so far not one has turned
it to the lost and found in the Mall, and i re-traced my walking.
I thinking i know who found it, and this person saw me and my service dog for hearing and
medical alerted. And Instead to taken to lost and found they kept it.
This is happened Feb-09-2013, after 400 pm.
As for the track I already did everything but i keeping getting offline.
Pleaase, if any one knows or found it just take to lost and found and Monaca Mall.\
It will not been used to you because i got already report to the police and Apple store.
So you can not used it, so please, give back i can't afford another one.

Good question, what happens? I've tried to put myself in their position, but it doesn't really help.
Well, I am answering my own question.... and yours... but you wouldn't get it back... and would probably have to buy a new one.
Doesn't bother me, I've voided the warranty at least twice on almost every piece of electronic equipment I have :D
I like to keep my warranties... although, when you do change the images all you have to do is a restore and you change is gone... assuming you use the actual Apple iPod Updater.

Cancellation fee? *edit, contract ends Feb. 2013*

I understand that there is a fee to cancel before a contract is over, but we have been unable to get any decent assistance for our phone issues..
We upgraded to an LG Ally in February of 2010 ** sorry, it was 2011.. contract ends Feb. 2013** with a 24-month contract. What would our cancellation fee be right now?
We've had numerous issues with our phoneSSS. Verizon has replace it with the same model 3 or 4 times (we honestly lost count!!), and they refuse to replace it with a different model unless we pay an extra $100 or more. So much for having the extended warranty.
The CSRs continue to claim that they've "never heard of any issues with this phone" or that "that is a great phone" etc. etc. when there are many forums and reviews about how bad it actually is.. One even had the gall to say that we must have gotten lemons all 3 or 4 times.
We are fed up and just want to get away from Verizon. There are days that the phone doesn't work at all and we are not getting our money's worth by keeping it. The list of issues with this phone is LONG.

Excel connection manager - Error after Installing Office 2013

My SSIS package used to work fine until I Upgraded my Office 2010 to Office 2013. After upgrading to 2013, the SSIS package which is created using SQL 2012 is throwing error for Excel Connection manager. Below is the error what I see

Snipping Tool stopping working after installing Office 2013 Pro (32 bit) on Win 7 Pro 64bit - help?

Have been looking at many forums to fix this:
ran SFC - no errors
rebooted multiple times
all Windows Updates are current
don't want to disable antivirus, as some have suggested
Uploaded a registry fix, which several have suggested - no soap
Note:
all other features of this PC work great - zero issues.
the issue starting right after installing Office 2013 Pro - 32bit. It runs fine.
"Paint" runs fine. "Print Screen" works fine - image goes to clipboard, and I can paste anywhere.
get the standard message everyone posts in forums:
"The Snipping Tool is not working on your computer right now. Restart your computer, and then try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
Have tried other free third-party tools, and they are cumbersome, and I love the MS Snipping Tool.
Advice? Tips?

After effects cc 2013: Mov file is damaged or unsupported

Hi guys, i used software after effecs cc 2013 for windows. i opened the file mov to get get " bla bla bla unsupported" .
i Installed kmplayer but

First of all, there is no CC 2013.
Second, what is kmplayer? Weird third-party players and codec packs don't usually do anything but cause trouble.
Third, info about the file format and codec you're importing would be helpful.

99.9% of the time, if you can send/receive SMS's, & MMS is turned on in settings, the problem rests with your carrier, not your phone. So, call your carrier & have them reset MMS for your account. MMS is a carrier feature & must be properly provisioned to work.

Site Collection level Search Scopes after Upgraded to 2013

In SharePoint 2010 we have good amount of site collection level search scopes and it has been heavily used in search scope down.
Please correct me if any of my below statement is wrong
1.After migration these scopes cannot be used and it will not appear in search drop down.
2.Only opition I have is to create Result Source and Configure search navigation at Site Level?
3.For Result Sources to appear in drop down I need to have individual search page for every custom result source.
I would really appreciate your inputs

1. Usually 2010 Search Scopes can be used after migrating to 2013. What you can't do is edit them or create new ones. However, I've had mixed luck with them. About 75% seem to work, with the rest being broken beyond repair.
2. If the migrated scope doesn't continue to work your only real option is a REsult Source. To add them to the dropdown you will need to configure the navigation at the Site level.
3. Result sources can re-use result pages used by other Result sources. You need a Result source for each entry, but that result source may point to the same page as another result source.

Is 'Introduction to Oracle9i SQL (1Z0-007)' valid after July 31, 2013?

I have written the 'Introduction to Oracle9i SQL (1Z0-007)' two years back and I am planning to write 'Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL(1Z0-144)' next month.
But I came to know that the certification 'Introduction to Oracle9i SQL (1Z0-007)' is going to retires on July 31, 2013.
Could you please tell me whether I can write 'Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL(1Z0-144)' after July 31, 2013 or should I write 'Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I (1Z0-051)' first then 'Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL(1Z0-144)' if I am not write it before July 31, 2013?

I thought I read that anyone who bought a new iDevice on or after Oct. 1, 2014 could get the iLife and iWork apps for free on their iDevice and the same Mac applications would be free for any Mac with the same iCloud account. I purchased an iPad Air in January and got those apps for free on it, but when I bought a used Mac locally I can't get any of those apps for free? No, they said if you bought a new iOS device on or after September 1, 2013, the iOS versions would be free. And if you purchased a new Mac on or after October 1, 2013, the Mac OS versions would be free. The Mac & iOS iWork & iLife apps are separate applications for two different operating systems. Unless you purchased a new Mac after October 1, 2013, you will have to purchase them for your used Mac.

Latest Feb 19, 2013 Java update for 10.6 breaks Safari 5.1.7

Hi people, long time viewer first time poster here. I wasn't sure on how to contact apple in regards to their latest Java update on the 19th February 2013, so I thought I post it here and see if others have the same problem.
So, I'm running the following:
Java SE 6 (Java 1.6.0_41-b02-445)
Safari 5.1.7
Mac OSX 10.6.8
When I try to load http://www.uk.msn.com (which is also my homepage) my browser freezes and I can't load any other page. This results in me have to quit Safari and sometimes force quit.
I know it is the recent Java update because when I disable Javascript the website works fine and I can interact with it. As soon as I turn Javascript back on, the issue occurs again. Obviously turning Javascript off is a work around for now, but I require it for work etc.
I have done a permissions repair which doesn't fix anything.
Could others try the link and let me know what happens please? All OSX versions are welcome to see whether it is just the 10.6.8 OSX or spans to 10.7 and later.
Also, does anybody know where I can report this issue to Apple, or do I just ring them up and tell them?

I also have 10.6.8, Safari 5.1.7, and the most recent Java update. I can access the MSN site through the link you provided but, on returning to Apple Discussions, got a 60-second stall before Safari would work right again. Yes, it very well could be the site.
The only Safari 5.x crashes I've had came after a Java update 12-18 months ago. I had repaired permission both before and after the update but the crash log showed a number of dlink files with question marks instead of version numbers. Another repair permission restored function and I've had no further crashes. So I always repair permissions before any subsequent Java update that's offered and twice after. For what ever reason, it seems to keep me going.
