Like java.lang.String?
You use it like this
String textTag = "text";
If that isn't what you had in mind then you might want to provide a bit more detail as to what you think it should do.

Thank you for your quick response .You're welcome.
If you have any sample code or simple example for how to use those

If there is any "open source" for parsering regular expressions.
Please send me I am very new to parser technologies.Note that that Pattern class take care of all the parsing of REs, i.e. there's
nothing 'interesting' left for you to do any parsing whatsoever. Can you
elaborate a bit on what you exactly want to do and learn?
kind regards,

• Looking for a Java Parser

Hi,
I'm working on a Web Service Project, and i'm trying to deploy Web Services dynamically. Now the problem is, that i have to adapt the Java src-files sometimes before the deployment (Like adding Annotations, Methods or just peaces of code into a Method. So what i'm looking for is some Sort of a Java Parser, that gives me information on where to insert the code i generated.
Simple example:
public class WSExample{
public void doSomething(){
//do something
//this class should be changed to something like this:
public class WSExample{
@WebMethod       //Annotation added
public void doSomething(){
//do something
//this Method is generated automatically
@WebMethod
public void doSomethingDifferent{
//like establishing a connection to a different WS
}All i've found up to now are parser generators like antlr or javacc. But i couldn't find anything about how to use the generated parsers or even manipulate the parsed code, yet. I hope i don't have to write a parser or grammar myself. Maybe someone can link me to some useful tutorial, forum or whatever else might be helpful.

If you are using Sun's Java 1.4, you already have one. If you are using an ealier version, here are a couple of links:
Xerces is probably the most feature rich:
http://xml.apache.org/xerces2-j/index.html
GNU JAXP is also good and very small:

• Parser for Java v2 decimal formatting bug

XML Parser for Java v2 (up to 2.0.2.7) does not seem to format decimal numbers correctly with format-number() function. It can handle floats, but not doubles. When can this bug get fixed?
BTW, is there a bug database for Java XML Parser?

Thanks for your prompt response, here is one test:
format.xml:

<numberlist>

<number>12345678.123456789</number>
<number>123456789.123456789</number>

<xsl:value-of select="format-number(current(), '#,##0.00000000')"/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
The following output was generated from 2.0.2.7:

1,234,567.12500000
12,345,678.00000000
123,456,792.00000000
Apache Xalan 0.20 generates the following:

1,234,567.12345679
12,345,678.12345679
123,456,789.12345679
This problem also exists in v2 versions before 2.0.2.7.
A month ago, I posted another bug report, but didn't get any reponse. Can someone look into the problem? I suspect XMLElement.setAttribute(name, value) doesn't add attributes of ID type to the internal list of ID's. The posting is at:

• Installing XML Parser for Java v2

I downloaded Oracle XML Parser for Java v2 and looked in the doc directory of the unzipped files but couldn't find any doc about installation. Can anyone point me in the right the direction or tell me how to install and use it to convert XML files stored in the files system to HTML output using XSL stylesheet. Thanks

There is no installation involved beyond including the xmlparserv2.jar in your CLASSPATH. Take a look in the sample directory where we have included sample code and instructions on their use.
Addiaitonal HTML conversion samples are included with the XSQL Servlet download.

• XML Parser for Java v2. Applying XSLT to DOM tree

I encountered pretty weird behavior of XML Parser for Java v2.
While applying XSLT to XML document created in memory using DOM
interface I couldn't access element attributes. For example,
given the XML document:
<root>

Value of Item 00001

Value of Item 00002

</root>
and XSLT:
<xsl:template match="/">

XSLT Test

<xsl:for-each select="/Error">

Error
<xsl:value-of select="."/>
</xsl:for-each>

<xsl:for-each select="/root">

<xsl:text>Attribute</xsl:text>

<xsl:text>Value</xsl:text>

<xsl:for-each select="Item">

<xsl:value-of select="@ID"/>

<xsl:value-of select="."/>

</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:for-each>

</xsl:template>
If I build DOM tree by parsing XML file the resulting HTML
document after applying XSLT will display
Attribute Value
00001 Value of Item 00001
00002 Value of Item 00002
But if I build DOM tree using following code:
XMLDocument xDoc = new XMLDocument();
Element root = xDoc.createElement( "root" );
xDoc.appendChild( root );
Element elem = xDoc.createElement( "Item" );
elem.setAttribute( "ID", "00001" );
root.appendChild( elem ).
appendChild( xDoc.createTextNode( "Value of Item 00001" ) );
elem = xDoc.createElement( "Item" );
elem.setAttribute( "ID", "00002" );
root.appendChild( elem )
.appendChild( xDoc.createTextNode( "Value of Item 00002" ) );
the same XSLT will produce the following HTML output:
Attribute Value
Value of Item 00001
Value of Item 00002
So the value for the ID attribute is not displayed. At the same
time I can access this attribute using DOM interface. For
example, following code
NodeList nList = xDoc.getElementsByTagName( "Item" );
Element e;
for( int i = 0; i < nList.getLength(); i++ )
e = (Element)nList.item( i );
System.out.println( "ID: " + e.getAttribute( "ID" ) );
produces an output
ID: 00001
ID: 00002
Here is the code for applying XSLT to DOM tree:
DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
parser.parse( new FileInputStream( "test.xsl" ) );
XMLDocument xsldoc = parser.getDocument();
XSLStylesheet xsl = new XSLStylesheet( xsldoc, createURL( "" ) );
XMLDocument out = new XMLDocument();
out.appendChild( new XSLProcessor().processXSL(xsl, xDoc) );
out.print( new FileOutputStream( "test.html" ) );

• Java +XML (SAX) Parser for Oracle 8.1.5 EE

Hi there :)
I am looking java classes for SAX to parse XML. I cannot find a valid parser, cause after downloaded from Oracle XDK for java, when i try to load this calasses i get a messages that i alot of classes connot be resolved.
If somebody have valid classes on Ora 8.1.5 please send me mail.
Adam

Have i possibilities to using some javatypes in oracle java stored procedure if this class is not loaded into db?
Cause i would like to create a java stored procedure to parse and insert some data from xml. I was thinking to pass xml file name as a parameter to my java procedure.
I must use Oracle 8.1.5 with jdk 1.1.7, and the best parser for me is SAX.
Please help.
Have i possobilities to use class inside oracle, which are placed outside oracle?
Something like classpath, where can i modify value (but classpath inside oracle)?
