Java plugin crashing Safari 4.0.3

When I try opening a webpage with and applet in it, Safari freezes, and if I try to stop it or open a new webpage it crashes. I have tried everything suggested in other threads and nothing has worked so far. I disabled all plugins in Safari preferences and found that the one making it crash is JavaPluginCocoa. I have looked into the user/library/internet plug-ins folder and the file is not duplicated. I have tried loging in with a different user and Safari still crashes. Some help will be greatly appreciated because this is being going for a while. If it is of any help the webpage I'm trying to access when Safari crashes is www.bmv.com.mx, when I click in the IPC link under Indices it opens it but then it freezes.

Yes, your Safari crash report would be very helpful.
But what your console log is referring to is
your Mac can't find the slideshow that you've set up as your screensaver.
Maybe try a new screensaver, or even better, turn off the screensaver altogether to test.

  • Java plugin crashes when creating a new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11 object

    Hi,
I have created an applet which signs pdf files and works fine.
Applet is used in a website that needs client authentication with the same smart card wich is used to sign the documents.
The java plugin crashes at this line of code. The message showed - The java applet plugin has failed
    sunpkcs11 = new sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11(pkcs11);
I think it crashes because the pkcs11 module is still used, the light of the smart card reader is not blinking is a fixed light.
I haven't got an error log because the java plugin crashes. Only shows the log lines before that line of code.
Later the sunpkcs11 provider is added if the smarcard is unplugged and java plugin don't crashes.
    Security.addProvider(sunpkcs11);
If I unplug the smart card after client authentication and before sign a document, the java plugin don't crashes and later, the provider is added, and the document is signed and the light of the smart card reader is blinking before signing.
    Firefox 27 version.
Java Standar Edition version 7 update 51 compilation 1.7.0_51-b13
    I'm using mac os x v10.9 64 bits system
    I have seen:
    http://bugs.java.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=8026833
I have tested the same applet with firefox, in windows 7, windows 8, ubuntu 13.10 and fedora 19, and works and signs documents after client authentication.
when applet is loaded in windows is not using pkcs11. But I haven't got the same problem.
But in mac os x v10.8 and v10.9 java plugin crashes.
Is there a way to disconnect programatically the pkcs11 module or any other solution?
I'm not sure why the java plugin crashes. Has got any relationship with the bug 8026833?
    Any suggestion?.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you had Errors TF30162 and TF250025 when creating a New Team Project in TFS2012 with Sharepoint Site on Visual Studio.
The Errors TF30162 seemed that the reports for TFS could not be uploaded due a permission problem. The fix was really easy.
Go to your team foundation server
    Open the administration console.
    Click on Reporting
    Click on Edit
    Click on Reports Tab
Enter the credential for the Reports
    Save
    Click on Start Jobs
In addtion, the problem may be due to the caching done by Team Explorer in Visual Studio. Exiting the copy of VS on the client and reloading it will fix the problem as the updated team process settings will cached locally.
To resolve the Errors TF250025, you will need to register a new internal URL for the SharePoint site using Alternate Access Mappings.
Here are two great blogs for you to take a look at:

  • Sun java plugin for Safari for windows

    Dear Friends
I have installed Safari in Windows XP. I tried to load my applet through safari. It doesn't ask for signing and doesn't run the applet. Actually safari uses its own java plugin . Is there any option to use sun java plugin for that one and run the signed applets. please reply immediately

We (Sun) don't have much experience with Safari on Windows at this point. Going forward, the new Java Plug-In in 6u10 should work with Safari on Windows, once Safari upgrades their NPAPI and NPRuntime interfaces to the versions in Firefox 3.

  • Flash & Java apps crash Safari 4

There are two websites I frequently go to and recently I have been experiencing problems after I downloaded Safari 4 on both my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro unibody. Both are OS X 10.5.6, and have the latest software updates. I can access both of the sites fine with IE 7 through VMware Fusion.
First site is Stickam.com. I get an error message for Adobe Flash Player 10 which reads "Error # 2044: Unhanded IO Error Event:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed". I push continue and Safari crashes on me.
The second site is Elluminate.com. It is a java-based web conferencing program I use for my classes. I click to enter the room from Safari 4, and the java application loads fine until the very end and crashes Safari. The error message I received is "The application Elluminate Live! quit unexpectedly. Mac OSX and other applications are not affected. Click to Relaunch....Report....Ignore".
I have the error reports for both occurrences that I can post if needed. If this can't be resolved, do you think I can reinstall Safari 3 to fix the problem?

    Hi
The first site played with no problems. Which version of Flash are you using? Latest is found here. Regardless of whether or not you upgrade Flash, "repair permissions" using Disk Utility. When done, restart Safari and try the site again.
Regarding the second one, I tried to watch a demo. A Java app. was installed in my system, however, crashed when it opened. I suspect the second site is not yet S4 compliant.

  • FlashPlayer 10.6 Plugin Crashes Safari

    MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.7
FlashPlayer 10.6 is constantly crashing the Safari (5.0.5) browser. Each time I get the following message:
    Problem Report for Safari
Safari quit unexpectedly while using the FlashPlayer-10.6 plugin.
Any information how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Hi, no I wouldn't recommend using it. I asked because some Mac users with Safari do use it. The purpose of it is Flash content is blocked, then if a person wants to view a particular website with Flash content or videos, they "Click-To-Flash". Which some users use it as a Security measure.
I've seen your other thread, but the issues are not anything I have experience with. Hopefully someone that does will respond. The regular active Helpers here on the Forum sometimes can't be on at all times, due to other circumstances. Time Zones, etc.
If you have the Shockwave Flash plugin Enabled as you've checked, then something else must be blocking or causing it to crash. One thing would have been that Click-To-Flash if it was not turned off.
Is it only a certain website that this happens on or all sites that have Flash content or videos?
What about youtube videos? Are they working properly?
I'll look in my folders and see if there is any info there that may help.
    Thanks,
eidnolb                 EDIT: I meant to ask if you had used that test site that Pat asked about it Post #1? This will give some info, especially the
version of Flash Player that is Installed. That error message you received is confusing.

  • Java update crashes Safari and Mail

When upgrading to the latest version of Java, I got a message at the end of the cycle saying that the "source media" was corrupt (or a similar word). I now find that both Safari and Mail crash immediately upon trying to open a URL or a mail message.
Do I uninstall Java? If so, is there guidance on the process? Where might I get the latest safe version of Java? Is Java the source of the Mail problem as well?
(Needless to say, it pays to fear updates.)
    Thanks,
    Tim

I have a similar problem after the Java 6 update failed to install through software updater.
I get a crash when trying to load Safari and a few other programs.
I tried downloading the Java update separately and installing it, but I get the same error "Source file is corrupt". I've tried repairing permissions and a disc repair, but despite these working OK I'm still encountering the same problem.
I'm now thinking of rolling back in Time Machine, but fear that this will happen again when next updating.
I can attach an error report if necessary.

  • Safari plugins crashing Safari?

Just installed safaristand, pith helmet and greasekit, after installing safari became unstable a page/tab or two can be opened but then crashes, after deleting the plugins it simply crashes, any one else experiencing difficulties with Safari and these plugins?

    _Try these things:_
    1) Open Safari. Click "Safari" to the right of the Apple. Click "Reset Safari...". Make sure everything is checked off (You can keep passwords unchecked though). Then click "Reset". Restart and test. I don't know if Safari will even let you open it enough to do that but if you can give it a shot.
_If you can't open it enough to do step #1 (or #1 does not work):_
    2) Open a Finder window. In the left, click the picture of a house with your username beside it. To the right open the "Library" folder. Now open the "Preferences" folder. Drag the following files to your desktop:
    com.apple.safari.plist
    com.apple.Syndication.plist
    com.apple.SyndicationAgent.plist
    com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Restart and test. If that works, trash those files we put on your desktop (NOTE: This will change some of your Safari settings, like home page, but will not harm bookmarks). If this does not work, then put those files back to where we took them out of.
    3) If step #2 does not work: Open a Finder window. Click the house. Open the "Library" folder. Find the folder called "Safari". Drag that folder to your desktop, restart and test. (NOTE: This WILL remove your bookmarks, but would be necessary at this point). If it works then trash that folder (you can keep it if you want). If it does not work, replace that folder to where it came from.
If these steps do not work, reply for more steps and please include any relevant details you may have noticed (changed behavior when testing).

What I have done so far:
    1. Updated Apple Software including Java.
    2. Updated Plugins.
    3. Repaired Disc Permissions.
    4. Trouble Shot Plugins: Disabled Plugins in Safari Preferences - Result: Crashes stopped. Loaded all Plugins except the 3 Java Plugins and still no crashes. Load any of the 3 Java Plugins and Safari crashes.
    5. Deleted com.apple.java.javapreferences.plist.
    6. Opened Java Preferences and deleted Temporary Internet Files.
I have four other G4's running the same system and version of Safari and they are all stable.
I bet someone smarter than me will look at the crash report and tell me to something quite simple and the problem will be solved, but I don't know what that would be.

You have a outdated version of FlashPlayer.Uninstall FlashPlayer. Install the newest version here.
    Repair permissions after the update.
Also this add-on may be problematic.

  • Snow Leopard Safari4 Java Plugin

Long story short, i deleted all the plugins for safari from the system folders, due to some old plugins that were causing issues. I've gotten most of my plugins working, except for the java one.
Going to http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml on safari says java is not installed (works fine in other browsers). How do I reinstall the java plugin on safari 4 on snow leopard?
Have tried reseting the browser, have tried creating a new account, but no joy.
    Thanks.

    Try a reinstall of Java:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL924
While this version says 10.5.8, I believe it also applies to Snow Leopard. If it doesn't the installer will say so.
Before the install, quit Safari and any other browser, if opened.

  • I am using oracle Apps ERP in firefox wherein there is a Java Plugin , This is working fine in 3.5 version but as soon as i am upgrading to the latest version oracle is not working and firefox crashes. I can't upgrade even though i wish to

We are using Oracle ERP in our company which is a web based ERP system. I am using firefox to work in ERP for convinieince pf working and using internet at the same time. This requires a plugin provided by oracle oajinit.exe to be installed in Plugins it is a JAVA plugin which opens the ERP Screens. This works fine in versions prior to 3.6 version of firefox. However, after upgrading to 3.6 version the forms do not open and firefox crashes. Due to this i am not able to upgrade to the latest version else i'll have to operate the ERP in internet explorer and using firefox for browsing which i do not want. The plugin used for the ERP is "* JInitiator 1.3.1.18 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)"

Firefox 3.6 needs the Java Second Generation Plugin which comes with newer versions than 1.6.0_03 - update Java, the latest version is 1.6.0_22

  • Java plugin causing Firefox to crash

I installed the newest Java plugin today and it asked me to restart Firefox. Now it crashes as soon as I open it. It will not open in Safe Mode because it won't stay open for more than half a second. I tried re-installing it and restarting my computer and it's having the same problem. I can't open about:crashes because it won't stay open.

Make sure that you've installed the 32 bit Java version because Firefox is a 32 bit application.

  • Why is Safari blocking the latest Java plugin?

Today, I fired up Safari to access my work server but the required Java applet wouldn't run. Safari displayed "Blocked Plugin" and clicking it said my Java was out of date and/or a security risk. I upgraded to the most recent Java (7.10, I believe) and restarted everything, but Safari still blocks the plugin. Firefox does not and confirms it's installed correctly and works.
There's no higher version of Java or my Safari (6.0.2). What is going on and how can I resolve it?
    Thanks!
    Jeremy

I too am having this problem, and have tried every conceivable workaround.  Firefox is not an option, as it seems that the Juniper SSL-VPN product won't fire up the ncproxyd or pass the "host check" with Firefox 18 and Java7 -- so whilst other Java sites work, the VPN I need to use won't come up.
I've tried removing everything, reboot, checking permissions -- even ran Instruments in the Developer tool to figure out how Safari makes the determination if something is out of date or not.
There is a major Java security hole out at the moment, in the latest version, so the only thing I can think of is that perhaps Apple fired a "kill everything" command that is telling all Safari versions that no version of Java is safe.

  • How can I fix "Safari blocks Java plugin."

I am trying to work remotely on Endpoint Security. It keeps telling me Safari blocks Java plugin. I've tried un-installing and installing Java again, but nothing is working.
