Java pms - playstation media server not starting correctly/at all

Question

dont' know if it's the right forum, but i guess since it's a multimedia application, i thought i go best here.
i just downloaded and installed the playstation media server from the AUR and installation went fine and all deps are installed.
then i wanted to start that thing, but it didn't quite work like i expectet. i started it from dmenu and it popped up a window without anyting in it. so tried to start it from the console to see the output. so here it is:

as you can see, you can see nothing. i tried to mess around with folder/file permissions in opt/pms like it was suggested in the comments from the aur page - didn't change anything.
so i tried the tar.gz from the official webpage - but with the same result.
the problem in the console output, pms not being able to bind on port, isn't even the first problem, since i can't change the port without a GUI. so i wonder how to bring it up correctly.
i'm using arch x32 with kernel 2.6.32 and currently openjdk6 1.6.2-1
could it be some problem with the java vm or some wrong versioning? or am i missing some other things? if anyone could come up with help and/or solution, i'd be very happy ^^;

Although it is somewhat off-topic, I have exactly the same question.
I asked for mencoder or ffmpeg settings in the doom9-forum and the lead x264-dev just pointed me towards pms. So I guess I'll be trying pms out (although I'm quite satisfied with mediatomb-svn, except for the HD-stuff...
