Java problems with pitney bowes label printing
For some reason when i try to print an international shipping label from ebay or paypal it hangs up for a good 5 minutes before java loads it and i can print the label. it does not do this for domestic shipping labels. Its been doing it for some time now even after the switch with ebay printing the shipping labels now not paypal. its really time consuming and would like to know if i can do anything about it

Problems with color matching when printing...
Hi, I work for a small family business in the P.O.P. industry. We currently have myself and one other designer, we both take illustrator files that have come from the graphic design firm that we contract with and get them ready to print on our Vutek QS3200. However ever since acquiring the printer we have begun to run into problems with the colors when printing. When the files are exported off of my computer, I use either .tif or .pdf files, they print as they should, the colors seem to match the proof and everything goes smoothly. However when the other designer exports a file, he tends to do mainly pdfs, the colors tend to be extremely different from where we want them. Also we will get very strange results, such as yesterday he kept getting a faint yellow 1/2" border around his prints. After I believe 3+ hours of him trying, I was given the original CD and instructed to try. After 15-20 minutes of making the changes that we needed to make (adding a new price point) and ripping, mine printed perfectly.
We both use Macs, both have CS3 Design standard, only differences between the computers are mine is newer and a bit faster, and I'm running OS 10.5.6 and he has 10.4. He has also at some point loaded various color profiles, whereas my CS package is just whatever the default is when I loaded it. When we were being trained he grabbed the color profile off of the Colorburst RIP server and loaded onto his computer, plus I believe he has a couple for freelancing purposes on there as well. My thought is that these profiles are somehow corrupting the files that are going through that computer, but I honestly am lost with it at the moment. He believes the problem lies within the fact that he does not have the newer OS, I honestly cannot see that as having any effect on this at all. I was wondering if anyone has run into any similar problems, or if anyone might have any advice on this issue? I would really like to be able to solve this, as I was hired to do mainly structural design for the P.O.P. and I'm having to put in a lot of overtime to get my work done along with the additional work that I'm having to do.
Thanks for your timeI've got a few years experience calibrating large format printers. First, the Yellow sounds like a file problem. I used to work with two workstations, one PC ( RIP station ), and one Mac ( file prep station ). I tend to agree with you in that the OS is probably not the problem. But, any Colorburst profiles should remain in the RIP, not in the originator application. My workflow consisted of creating EPS files that were based on established color settings in their given applications ( i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop ) which were interpreted by the RIP which had it's own calibrated profile ( perhaps more than one based on how many different substrates were being used ). Your partner may be complicating things by incorporating a RIP profile prematurely. If there are deviations big enough to be noticed, there has to be something in the application color settings that is causing some type of corruption. This could lead back to the operating system, but I would think it lies somewhere in Bridge or the application color settings. Start there. You should seriously consider implementing a calibration system if you do not have one already. Another slight possibility is the driver's ability to interpret files coming out of Leopard vs. files coming out of Tiger. It may benefit you both to be in the same operating system dynamics, using the same driver versions and RIP profiles. At the very least, match everything that is currently working successfully and put them on both machines. If there is still a noticeable problem in color matching, then something is seriously wrong and you should call in a prepress profiling expert. Hope this helps.

If I use Panel Label and Message element then I need to copy LABEL from input text element to Panel Label and Message element LABEL PROPERTY. Can I define in View object that I don't need label and want all attributes in Panel Label and Message element?

unable to find appropriate driver for my mcbook air using a ricoh aficio mp36501SP network printer. had similar problem with another ricoh copier/printer, but was able to resolve that problem entering ip address. this one wants job code. i don't believe mac allows for input on job code or printer code for permission to print
I'm having similar problems with an HP OfficeJet 6500. One suggestion that improved the situation, but did not totally solve the problem, was to select "OfficeJet Pro L7700" for its drivers.
One other suggestion is to turn off the printer, then simultaneously hold down the "#" and "9" keys and turn the printer back on. This hot key seems to reset the printer to factory defaults, allowing you to set things up anew.
Finally, kvetch to HP. Their networking software clearly has problems in its relationship to OSX, but nobody on either side seems motivated to bring in a good therapist. -
I have just been having problems with my Canon MP250 printer and decided to uninstall and re-install the printer and everytime I try to re-install the printer trough preferences and all I keep getting was a message saying "preparing to queue"...... I then decided to try and reload the Canon printer drivers and for some silly reason I deleted the existing Canon printer drive. Now I cannot load them from the CD provided with the printer or from downloads through the Apple store. If anyone out there could help me I would be greatly appreciated......
These Canon printer/scanner drivers from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899 - should work. The MP250 is listed on the support page. Try downloading and installing them.

Last update for OS 10.8.2 caused big problems with HP photosmart B110 printer /scanner cannot scan does anyone have the same problem or a solution?
iMac is connected via wirelss to printer/scanner. All was working OK until update.Assuming that the HP software is up-to-date, but still not working, have you tried Image Capture in the Applications folder. Does that work?

Problem printing horizontal text in smartform with zebra Z6M label printer

The situation is this:
There is a Z smartform wich prints a label to a zebra Z6M label printer with the text and barcodes vertically.
The form have a command in the main windows with the parameter: S_LZPL_SETUP '^FWR'
This label works fine, but the client want to change the form, they have told me to create a new smartform and print the info horizontally, using the same printer.
The tests i have done are the following:
create a smartform from ground and write a template text and a barcode with a new font of system barcodes. the bardoce is shown ok(it is shown horizontally), the problem is that the template text is shown vertically, as in the original smartform.
then i tried on another zebra ZM600 label printer, similar model, but not the same, and the smartform printed was ok (text and barcodes shown horizontally). So i think is a configuration setting problem, but i dont know where to search.
i have checked the label printer parameters in SPAD, but didnt find anything souspicios.
have you any idea?

create a character format.
under standard settings give the bar code name
use this style in ur smartform. select the data field which u want to barcode print and assign the character format

A barcode solution consists of the following:
a barcode printer
a barcode reader
a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

Error thread java : problem with the function "resume 0x***" (forum sun)
One problem with the function of jdb occured when I tried to use it to
pilot the processor with differents threads. In fact, I use a simple example with 2 threads.

IM Container Tag Problem with OKI C9500DN Laser Printer
Labels printed have 10" length and 4" heigth instead of normal size.
Using USPS Tray Laser 2 IM 24-digit.ltd.
Printer driver problem or PostalSoft problem?That design should print 10 labels on a page, two across and five down. As far as margins the top and bottom margins are both .5 inches and the left and right margins are both 1 inch. So what you are seeing is a single label that is 10" x 4" or the 10 labels fit within an area of 10" x 4"? I don't have any experience with that specific printer but I know that design prints fine on several different HP laser printers. It looks like that is an Led printer, but I don't see that really being the issue... One thing I can think of checking is to make sure that the driver doesn't have some kind of zoom setting which is causing the issue. You would want it to print at 100%. Other than that I can't think of anything else to check without knowing more about what the output you are seeing looks like. Have you tried any other designs to see if they have similar issues? Are you able to get the output you expect when using other programs?

problem description : When I try to print a page containing coloured items the coloured parts fail to print. (The items are totally missing, they are not replaced by grey scale images) I have done all the usual things as per list:-
troubleshooting : 1) Rebooted my computer.
2) Disconnected the USB cable and reconnected it.
3) Changed the colour cartridge.
4) Examined the printer settings in the control Panel, colour is selected and all other settings seem normal.
5) De-selected the printer as the "Default Printer" and re-installed it.
6) Run software that checks the driver is up to date and it is.
7) Printed the built in test page "beautiful color made easy" only the header and footer print,no colour!

PS. I have owned my printer for many years and cannot remember the purchase date.

View Solution.Hi - Go ahead and try the steps in this document. It will walk you through cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and in the carriage. What can happen over time is ink residue can accumulate on the contacts preventing the ink cartridges from working properly. If this doesn't resolve the issue, try setting the cartridge with the nozzles face down on a damp paper towel for about 45 seconds just to resolve any problems with the ink nozzles.

I allowed a System Update that included a Xerox Printer update. I am running a MacPro 10.6.8 with Quark 8.5.1 and a Xerox ColorQube 8700S. EVERY was working perfectly before the "update" but afterwards anything sent to the printer from Quark would stall the printer. I went to the Xerox website and downloaded their Printer Driver and tried again. Now I could print from Quark but I can NOT get to the printer window to change the type of paper, etc. So, the problem still persists.
Should I try going into Time Machine and trying to find the Xerox Print Driver in the Library folder?
Should I upgrade the whole system software? (I wouldn't mind doing that AFTER I get this magazine off to the commerical printer)
Should I upgrade to Quark 9?
Any help here would be apprciated.
Thanks - RobAs a general rule of thumb, I never install updates until I read its info and I am having problems with my current software. I hide the updates until I need them. Usually this happens when I update or upgrade my os. I don't fix what ain't broken is my golden rule.
It is possible that you need to update or upgrade Quark in order for your newer printer driver to work. First I would try the following....
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.
If your printer does not work afterwards, update or upgrade Quark. If that does not work, contact the printer manufacturer. -
Hp stream 8 problem with hp officejet 150 printer
Hi,
I bought a HP Stream 8 tablet(5801ca) two weeks ago and just buy a HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One printer (CN550A) to work with my tablet. This setup is moving in a truck on the road, but I have never been able to set it correctly. Both devices have a bluetooth connection and I installed the drivers correctly (maybe not) but tried again over and over.
My problem is that I can connect the tablet with the printer, I see the printer correctly while printing documents, then I send the command to print, the printer starts up a printing cycle, but jam at the firt line. Nothing is printed and everything bug here. I have to restart both the printer and the tablet to be able to do something again with the printer.
I tried many times with different settings and different installation drivers (with CD coming with the printer and with the driver on hp website). Always had the same problem, then I tought the printer was not good, so I returned it and had a new one, same model. Still the same problem.
So is my tablet having a problem ? Or just some changes in a setting somewhere ? Or maybe, I can't even print on a HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One (CN550A) with a HP Stream 8 Tablet (5801ca) by a bluetooth connection ?
Any suggestion or help would be more than welcome,

Problem with collate function to print booklets in Indesign
I want to print on A4 paper, two copies of booklets (150pages) A5 format. This job I want to do more (100-300 ) times.
I use ctrl+ P, copies two, in setup printer I use page size A5, output size A4, booklet printing.
If I print the document from CS2 version, I got two booklets on A4 papers, on left side of papers is one booklet, and on right side of papers is second booklet. I just cut the papers on half and I got two booklets. Next gluing the booklets is ok
If I print the same document from CS3 or CS6 version, with same print presets !!, I got two booklets, but one booklet is on both sides of A4 papers, and second booklet is also on both sides of A4 papers. I cut the A4 papers and must every half booklets put together.
Also with gluing is little problematic.
Please if someone know , where is the problem with printing? How to use print in CS3 or CS6 , to get result like in CS2 ?As far as I recall, ID has never been able to do 2-up booklet printing from a 1-up file. I generally create a second document, then place the first one into it twice.

Discoverer Plus - Problem with Page Orientation when printing pdf's
Hi,
When printing pdf's in Disco Plus I have a problem:
My workbooks are a mixture of landscape and portrait pages.
I am printing the entire workbook and then using cutepdf to produce a pdf.
If I print to paper I get the correct landscape/portrait settings.
If I print to pdf then landscape pages appear vertically when I view on screen so that the text is running from bottom to top of the page.
So it is picking up th portrait/landscape settings from the individual worksheets but cutepdf has not realised that the pages are landscape so they appear on the screen vertically.
This was not a problem on discoverer desktop so I am confident that this is not a problem with cutepdf.
Any thoughts?
