Java processes not coming up after WAS JAVA installation

Hi,
After installing WAS ABAP and WAS JAVA, the Java related processes are not being seen.
Under /usr/sap/<instance_name>/work, dev_jcontrol shows the following error:
ERROR => OS release OS/400 V5R4 M0  570 is not supported with this startup framework (640) [jstartxx_mt. 3883]
I had applied the SAPJ2EE patch but still I am having the same error.
What next I could do to bring the Java processes up?
Thanks
Kiran

Hi Kiran,
I do have in mind, that this is described in the installation notes. It is very easy. The CDs are built for V5R3 and not V5R4 - but you are running V5R4. So, you need to patch the J2EE engine to the latest level and then this problem will disappear as the latest patch for sure includes the V5R4 certification.

  • SAP is not coming up after installing Java Add-in

    Hi,
I have installed a Java Add-in for an existing ABAP system. At the stage of "start J2EE engine" it is throwing an error message saying that Java is not coming up after 1142 seconds. I checked config tool and it is working fine. I restarted SAP. After restarting SAP, SAP is coming up and after 1 or 2 mins the disp+work is getting stopped and all the work processes are getting died. I couldn't able to understand & resolve the issue. The system is NetWeave 04. Here is the dev_w0 trace information.

  • Jave is not coming up after SID refresh where as ABAP is Up

Recently I completed system refresh for Solution Manager 4.0 with DB SQL Server 2005 on Duel stack and Java is not coming up after SID refresh where as ABAP is Up.
Please advise where to check as i check Disp log and Java Dispatcher is not coming up and giving error DB connection.
    Thanks
    Sachin Sachdeva

How did you do the refresh? What method, export with SAPINST(both ABAP and Java)?
Post the DB connection error you are getting.
    Can you connect to configtool?

So please help me out for the same.
    Apreciating your valuable help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ramkrishna

    Hello Markus and Mr. Joshi,
The problem has been solved now.
And the analysis of the logs was not much helpful as the dev_jcontrol, dev_dispatcher and other std_* logs were only saying about the shutdown operation.
so i was trying to solve the issue old ways so tried the R3trans as such the client has not upgraded the kernel for pretty long time , but after much research i found out that there was a oracle client updated on the same server.
so i changed the NLS33 parameter and also  added the old client path in  LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
It worked fine and the portal is up and running.
Thanks for the advice and help guys.
    Regards,
    Ramkrishna

I have already checked the DB, it is up and also the log files; db is not running out of space and also checked with the admin pwd in the secure store.
    Any pointers to this !!!!
    Thanks

    Hi,
Bootstrap seems to be failing. I don't think it's up to the database, rather something on the filesystem level:
com.sap.engine.bootstrap.SynchronizationException: ERROR: Writing file http://.\bin\ext\Oracle JDBC Driver Cust\ojdbc14.jar.
Can you check if there's something strange about the location? Might it be permissions issue (bear in mind that except for CE dev edition processes are running as SAPService<SID> on Windows and <sid>adm on Unix and it's bad to have files relevant for the server that are not accessible for these users)?
    Best regards, dido

  • Java is not coming up because of wrong port configuration

    Hello guys
It is a ABAP+ JAVA system ,ABAP is system is up but java is not coming up because of wrong port configuration.
getting error as ....service could not start because of missing or wrong port configuration
also tell me how to change this parameter in configtool??
    com.sap.aii.connect.integrationserver.r3.mshost

    Hi,
Please attach std_server0.out file too. Also, on the Abap side, ensure the HTTP port is set. This can checked by tcode smicm->Goto-> Services. The HTTP entry must be enabled and the port number should be displayed.
If it isnt enabled, then activate the http port in the instance profile using RZ10 Tcode.
Also, AFAIK, the parameter com.sap.aii.connect.integrationserver.r3.mshost is maintained in the exchange profile.
    Rgds,
    Soujanya

I checked on metalink and found that this error can occur due to some old oracle references or changes in the uid of users but this is fresh install no oracle was there before and we didnt' change the OS user's uid also.
Please let me know what else to check or SR is the only option?
    Thanks
    Daljit Singh

Do you mean CRS rather than CSS?
I note that your database is patched to 10.2.0.2 but your CRS is still at 10.2.0.1. Bring both to 10.2.0.3 and if that doesn't resolve the issue open an SR at metalink.
Do not install the January CPU ... it appears to have issues with RAC that we are currently investigating.

  • Databases are not coming up after server reboot(sun solaris).

    Hi
OS - Sun OS 5.10 local zone. RDBMS version - 11.2.0.3
Databases are not coming up after server reboot.
We have verified the below points.
    Cat/etc/init.d/oracle
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oradism file permissions are 4550.
lock_sga is parameter set to false.
cat /var/opt/oracle/oratab entries are set to Y
Still Databases are not coming up after server reboot.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
Can you post further information from alert log. Doesn't coming up, means you needs to share the information some thing about your environmente settings about kernel parameter and init$ORACLE_SID parameters details.
That would be easy for others to look into it further to analyze things.

  • My MacBook Pro keyboard not working correctly after Win7 bootcamp installation. In OSx boot it keep Win keyboard. How can I have Mac keyboard in OS boot and Win keyboard in Win boot?

My MacBook Pro keyboard not working correctly after Win7 bootcamp installation.
Installation went well but when I boot either with OSx or Win it always keeps Windows keyboard.
How can I have Mac keyboard in OS boot and Win keyboard in Win boot?

Hi - I have the exact same model as your MacBook and had a few questions as mine is acting up. I upgraded the ram to 8gb (2x 4GB ram) and ever since then my computer has not been running as smoothly and the start up time is horrendous. Have you encountered this problem? And if so how did you fix? What would you advise me do?
I was thinking of reverting back to the original factory 4GB then rebooting the entire computer. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Bala,
Please check the hostname of p4 in the instance profile parameter icm/server_port_X.
Please take a look at note 609603, if you haven't gone through it yet.

    Hi Vivek,
    FYI :
JStartupICheckFrameworkPackage: can't find framework package D:\usr\sap\NW2\JC02\exe\jvmx.jar
The above message can be ignored. You will see that message often in perfectly up/running systems as well.
Also, the dev_jcontrol file shows that the server process was terminating !
You need to check std_server0.out file for the errors/exceptions as to why server0 was terminating abruptly. The reason should be apparent from dev_server0 and std_server0 most of the times unless its a startup framework bug where the error messages are not written to the log files.
So, whenever the server process or dispatcher process fails to start, you should check the corresponding dev_server<n> or dev_dispatcher and std_server<n> / std_dispatcher  files. Also, usually, there will be some exception (if its application related) in the defaultrace file as well under server<n>\log or dispatcher\log depending on which one is failing to start.
e.g. if server0 is failing to start due to some UME issues, you will see the mention of it in std_server0.out (definitely) and more ellaborate info/exceptions in deafultrace under server0\log as well.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Java is not starting up after upgradation in dual stack system

    Hi,
We have sucessfully upgraded xi(netweaver2004s) to EHP1, after upgradation server0 is not starting.
default trace file in server0 shows the following error
Core service com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed .J2EE Engine cannot be started
But abap engine is running sucessfully.
We have sucessfully completed EHP 1 installation

    Hi Venkat,
As per the log it seems that ume services are not started as a result java engine is not starting..

  • My mini (late 2012) 2.3 GHz i7 with 16 GB, not loading images after installing Java that I need to run FileMaker Server 12.

I'm running yosemite on a mini (late 2012) 2.3 GHz i7 with 16 GB, my problem is that after installing Java that I need in order to run FileMaker Server 12, apps like Safari, Mail or even App Store, stop working properly, the mayor problem is that NO images load and Safari start saying that the pages are not loading because the connection with the server stop working. The only way to fix it is to re-start the computer.
Any idea to resolve the problem.
