Java proxies in PI 7.1 - Requesting ACKs

I've just found this [guide|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/events?rid=/library/uuid/40a0868a-9d40-2b10-8cb4-8e0c53b56655&overridelayout=true] in SDN with these quotes:
- New Proxies have to be created in NetWeaver Developer Studio
- Some JPR 3.0 classes are not available for JEE 5-based proxies, for example
com.sap.aii.proxy.xiruntiume.core.MessageSpecifier
- XI 3.0 proxy-specific features (like acknowledgements) cannot be used
So it seems that the new Java proxies do not allow acknowledgements.

Yes. That is correct. You should use the Java Proxy Generation inside ESR only for updates of migrated PI 7.0 Java Proxies.
For new development use the Java Proxy generation of the NWDS. This will create EJB 3.0 proxies which are incompatible to PI 7.0 Java proxies. Java proxies created inside NWDS can run on any SAP Java system 7.1, an adapter engine is not required.

    hai folks
i down loaded oracle database 10g release 2 from oracle site. after successflly installing the oracle database i got the following java exception when logged on as sys/passcode as sysdba
java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending Request :: null
can any one help me in this regard since i installed oracle database number of times and ended up with same error .

connect to the instance using SQL plus, to make sure userid and password are working.
then from OS console check dbconsole status
    emctl status dbconsole
    emctl status agent
if dbconsole/agent is not running then start dbconsole--emctl start dbconsole
you can also start dbconsole from services tab under admin.

    Dear All,
I have installed Oracle 10g 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate Edition. After setting ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables.
Oracle connected to sqlplus fine. But when starting Enterprise Manager in browser following error displayed.
The Enterprise Manager takes the SYS logon (as sysdba) quite happily and then it states:
    Error
java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending Request :: null
    Status Status Pending
    Status Pending Since Unavailable
    Last Known State
Please help anyone. This is so urgent.
    Regards,
    Rizi -DBA

I have resolved this issue myself. Basically problem is due to TimeZone mismatch of Oracle database and Window or OS.
Following are the steps to resolve the issue:-
On DOS prompt issue following commands.
    1. emctl stop dbconsole
    2. Following file contains valid supported TimeZones and select according to your region:-
    e.g. Asia/Karachi
    $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/admin/supportedtzs
    3. Now open following file:-
    $ORACLE_HOME/computername_SID/sysman/config/emd.properties
At the end of this file add:-
    agentTZRegion=Asia/Karachi
    4. emctl start dbconsole
    5. Open browser and logged in Enterprise Manager using sys/password as sysdba.
Click on Pending Status and logged in again, Now you will successfully use Enterprise Manager.
    Anyways, Thanks for your effort.

  • Java Proxies in PI 7.1 SP7

    Hi,
we are trying to work with java proxies, (we are using PI 7.1 SP7)
while generating the proxies using Tools->Java Proxy Generation, below message gets displayed:
There are two versions of Java proxy generation that differ in the programming model:
    1. The Java proxy generation in the ES Builder that will not be supported in later releases. It is only to be used for small adjustments of service interfaces in the ES Repository that were created because of the automatic migration of message interfaces of an Integration Repository (XI 3.0 or SAP NetWeaver 7.0) in the ES Repository. The Java proxes created with this proxy generation support the same programming model as in XI 3.0 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
    2. The Java proxy generation in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio that you use for new developments or for larger adaptation sof already existing service itnerfaces. The Java proxies created using this proxy generation introduce a new programming model.
what is the meaning of this message?
is it not recommended to create java proxies in PI 7.1 using ESR->Tools->"Java proxy generation". is there any different procedure for  pi 7.1 java proxies.
    thanks,
    Madhu.

Yes. That is correct. You should use the Java Proxy Generation inside ESR only for updates of migrated PI 7.0 Java Proxies.

    HI Friends,
I have inbound java proxies and java mappings involved in my interface flow.
we are migrating from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1.
Can any one please suggest if any things need to be done to migrate from 7.0 to 7.1.
i mean any code changes or any libraries need to be imported...
    Thanks,

    Hi Madhu,
    > Can any one please suggest if any things need to be done to migrate from 7.0 to 7.1.
    > i mean any code changes or any libraries need to be imported...
No need to change the java code, but you have to redeploy the java proxy.

  • Learning Java proxies - landscape question

    Hi guys,
I could use a little help to learn Java Proxies, I'm just starting to get familiar with Java, I'm coming from the ABAP side.
First and foremost what do I need from the system point view?
We have an XI box and using file/FTP/IDoc adapters and also ABAP Proxies, I wrote some Java (mapping)functions, I am familiar with these.
But for a Java proxy, I would need a separate Java server(?) to run the application on, is this correct?
Can I use my own PC for this? (for learning purposes), I have NWDS installed on my PC.
What are the steps to write a small simple Java Proxy.
I would very much appreciate some help, guys, how do I start?
    Thanks a lot,
    Viktor

    Hi Viktor,
You can work from your own machine. Becuase in Java Proxy scenarios, you are deploying EAR files in the XI server, and thru XI , you are executing the method written in the Java Application.
    Just check these links-

  • Java maping and java proxies

    Hi
Can i use in the java mapping proxies classes generated for interfaces?
Or i can get in trouble because of library reference.
    Florin

Proxies are essentially the APIs, or the programming lines of code, that are generated for the target application language like ABAP/JAVA/.Net.
In some of the real time applications, each time it's not necessary to have particular Business Systems for send/ receive messages with SAP XI.
Sap XI provides diff. options to generate interfaces with ABAP / Java Applications such as as Proxies.
    <b>ABAP Proxy :</b>
    1. With ABAP proxy generation function it will be possible to generate ABAP proxy objects to an SAP system from an interface description in the SAP Exchange Infrastructure Integration Repository.
    2. ABAP proxy objects can only be generated for SAP systems that are based on SAP Web Application Server 6.40.
If you use ABAP Proxy , you can reduce the overhead calling the function again and again.

    Re: JDBC Sender select/update problem
    <b>Java Proxy:</b>
    1. JAVA proxy is used for J2EE based systems communicating with XI for sending or processing msgs in those J2EE based systems
2.It allows java applications to interact directly to Integration server with avoiding the configurations for the special adapters

    Hi ,
I found a document which says that MDM4J is the legacy API and is considered deprecated .The MDM Java API is the new one .I have both of them in the java build path . I am not sure if this is that cause of the problem .
Now I had a look at the javadoc for the new API but I am not able to locate the class to obtain a connection to the MDM server from a custom application being built in Netweaver Developer Studio . Can someone help me out with the same ?What would be the code to obtain the connection to the MDM server with the new JAVA API ?
