Java Removal Problem

I have recently been trying to tidy up and refresh my iBook. I was using AppCleaner and spotted multiple installations of Java. I thought, if I remove all of them, and just run Software Update it will notice that Java is missing and prompt me to install the latest release.
Needless to say, this has not happened!
I have no noticeable sign of Java on my computer apart from a few random folders. I noticed in the Update log file that "Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 9" was the last update, I manually downloaded and installed this from the Apple web-site. This has made no difference.
Can some one please advise me how to proceed?
Thank you in advanced.
Jamie

Can I not locate the missing files anywhere on the Internet?
I found this log file in AppCleaner:
/Applications/Utilities/Java/JSE 5.0/Java Preferences.app
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.java.JavaPreferences.plist
/Applications/Utilities/Java/Java 1.3.1 Plugin Settings.app
/Applications/Utilities/Java/Java 1.4.2 Plugin Settings.app
/Applications/Utilities/Java/Java Web Start.app
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Java Applet.plugin
This is what I removed.
Thank you again.

  • Java Programming Problem

    Hi all,
    I was looking for this java programming problem which had to do with a large building and there was some gallons of water involved in it too somehow and we had to figure out the height of the buiding using java. This problem is also in one of the java books and I really need to find out all details about this problem and the solution. NEED HELP!!
    Thanks
    mac

    Yes, it will. The water will drain from the bottom of
    the tank until the pressure from the water inside the
    tank equals the pressure from the pipe. In other
    words, without a pump, the water will drain out until
    there is the same amount of water in the tank as in
    the pipe The water pressure depends on the depth of the water, not the volume. So once the depth of the water inside the pipe reaches the same depth as the water inside the tank it will stop flowing. This will never be above the height of the tank.
    I found this applet which demonstrates our problem. If you run it you can drag the guy up to the top, when water in his hose reaches the level of the water in the tank it will stop flowing out.

  • Oracle Workflow Manager, Agent Listener, and Java Mailer problem

    Hi,
    I am not sure this topic to this forum, since this might be installation issue.
    But I am hitting a big wall.
    I had Windows 2000 SP4.
    I have already installed Oracle Database 10gR1, Oracle Developer 10gR2, and Oracle Workflow 2.6.3 Standalone previously.
    Including :
    - Oracle Workflow Server 2.6.3
    - Oracle Workflow Builder 2.6.3.5
    - Apache HTTP Server 9.0.4
    - Workflow Middle Tier
    Anything seems to right, including the Notification Mailer and the Business Event.
    And I had also made backup of them surely.
    Now,
    I'd like to change into Oracle Database 10gR2 because :
    1. Some errors I found when I tried to call a Report from Oracle Form.
    Unable to connect to Report Server ...
    I thought Oracle Database 10gR1 is not suitable for Oracle Developer 10gR2.
    2. And in the OWF 2.6.3 Workflow Home Page, there was no Logout button (which I found in OWF 2.6.4)
    I removed my previous installation including Oracle Workflow.
    After strugglineg in the installation of Oracle Database 10gR2, now I am facing another problem with Oracle Workflow.
    I succesfully installed Oracle Workflow 2.6.4 Server and Oracle Workflow Manager (standalone version),
    and the Oracle Workflow Middle Tier.
    After I launch Oracle Workflow Configuration Assisstant, everthing seems to be normal.
    I succed to open the Oracle Workflow Home Page (and found the Logout button there)
    Next, I tried to navigate to the Oracle Workflow Manager.
    1. I start the OC4J_Workflow_Management_Container --> initialized
    2. OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container
    The following error line appeared in the OC4J command prompt
    06/05/26 10:31:40 LOG_ID_UNKNOWN : oracle.apps.fnd.cp.gsc.Logger.Logger(String,
    int) : Logging to System.out until necessary parameters are retrieved for Logger

    06/05/26 10:33:57 Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)
    initialized
    3. finally it initialized
    Next I tried to go to Oracle Workflow Manager from related link of Enterprise Manager
    It is said that the OWF_MGR is locked
    (I surprised since I had UNLOCKED the OWF_MGR after the installation and succeed to login at the Workflow Home Page)
    And the following error line appeared in the commaned prompt after that
    06/05/26 10:35:03 OrionCMTConnection not closed, check your code!
    06/05/26 10:35:03 Logical connection not closed, check your code!
    06/05/26 10:35:03 (Use -Djdbc.connection.debug=true to find out where the leaked
    connection was created)
    4. I re-UNLOCK the OWF_MGR and login to Oracle Workflow Manager
    I noticed that the Agent Listener and Notification Service is Unavailable
    (In OWF 2.6.3, The Agent Listener was started and Notification Service was waiting to be configured)
    I tried to start one of the Agent Listener, but the following error appeared
    ERROR: The Service Component Container is not running
    Well, I had the same problem when installing the OWF 2.6.3
    I tried to uninstall (remove) and re-install it like I had done before in OWF 2.6.3
    (based on someone's post in Oracle's forum)
    But this time, the re-installation won't fix this problem. (It was succeed in the OWF 2.6.3)
    Everytime I start the OC4J, using wfmgrstart.bat and wfsvcstart.bat
    the OWF_MGR is re-LOCKED(TIME) automatically.
    And the servlet (WFALSNRSVC and WFMLRSVC) are not running.
    I am worry, since I cannot use the Notification Mailer if this problem had not fixed yet.
    (In OWF 2.6.3, the mailer was not available until those servlet is Started)
    Sorry for the long post.
    Any help would be grateful.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi,
    Finally, I have found the solution.
    Step :
    1. Start all of the Oracle Service, except for the OC4J
    If you have already started OC4J, then stop them
    Unlocked the <wf_manager_user>
    2. Search in your Oracle Home : data-sources.xml
    There should be two files,
    one is in the ...\OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container\application-deployments\WFALSNRSVCApp
    the other is in ...\OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container\application-deployments\WFMLRSVCApp
    3. Make sure, you create back up of them.
    4. Replace the following line
    password="-&gt;pwForOwfMgr"
    with
    password="<your_wf_manager_password>",
    should be look like this
    password="a"
    5. Now start the OC4J using wfmgrstart.bat and wfsvcstart.bat
    6. Next, login to the Oracle Workflow Manager
    This worked for me.
    Hope this will help someone who has the same problem.

  • Java Reference Problem

    We are using a Java JLabel class for rendering the cell of a Java JTable.
    The problem we are facing is ..even we are clearing our collections to remove the references of these Labels, still the memory of this Labels are not getting released
    it seems that some java internal classes(e.g. DefaultTableCellRenderer class) are still using this references, thus increasing the memory overhead.
    Can someone suggest a solution
    Thanks in advance

    DemoPassbyRefWriting, and posting, a class called 'DemoPassbyRef' in Java is a complete waste of time. There is no pass by reference in Java.
    However your problem is simply that you have added an object to a collection and then cleared the object, so it is clear when accessed via the collection too. It's the same object. Adding to a collection doesn't perform any copy step. If you don't want the collection item cleared, either don't clear it or do a copy when you add it to the collection. In this particular case clearing paramListTemp is completely pointless anyway, as nobody else uses it by that name.
    I can't see the point of your TableContainer class either.

  • Java.exe problem

    Hi,
    Would anybody please help me with this problem.
    I tried to execute java.exe with the command: java -Djava.library.path=E:\Program Files\Testing TestApp, it threw exception could not find the the path since there is a blank space between Program Files. I tried to put quotation marks around them, I got same problem. Java command seemed like did not like space. If I move my lib to new place e.g Test and execute my TestApp with the command: java -Djava.library.path=E:\Test TestApp, it worked fine. How can I solve this problem without remove space in the path.
    Thanks
    Hung

    i think you want to point to your programe classes.
    if so use
    java -classpath "E:\Program Files\Testing" TestApp
    because
    java.library.path contains many pathes related to JRE.
    D:\Java\sdk\jre\bin;.;C:\WINDOWS\System32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;D:\Java\sdk;D:\Java\sdk\bin;D:\Java\J2EE\bin;D:\Java\WSDP\bin;D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools\WinNT;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\bin;C:\Program Files\SSH Communications Security\SSH Secure Shell
    try this
    System.out.println(System.getProperty("java.library.path"));-Best regards,

  • Web Services in CF10, components not found - Java vendor problem?

    Is anyone having problems invoking web services in CF10, IIS 7, Java Oracle?  We recently upgraded, and the web services are now returning the following error that the component can't be found:
    The web service operation caused an invocation exception.
    The root cause was that: coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage$NoSuchTemplateException: Could not find the ColdFusion component or interface
    Should the web service be created in cfadmin?  It won't let me.  I was understanding the calling the webservice from cfinvoke would create the webservice, but it isn't.
    Any information outside of the Adobe documentation which I've read would be helpful.
    We have this identical file running on four different servers.  It works on two of the four.  The only difference I see in the server settings besides the version of CF and the operating system, is the vendor/version of Java.
    1.  CF10, Java Sun, IIS 7.5.7600.16385 - working
    2.  CF8, Java Sun - working
    3.  CF10, Java Oracle - not working
    4.  CF10, Java Oracle, IIS 7.5.7600.16385 - not working
    Thank you.

    It turns out that it was a directory nomenclature issue.  The directory had a period in it (e.g., domain.org).  Once the period was removed from the directory name, it worked.  For whatever reason, it worked fine in CF8 but not CF10.  I hope this helps someone else.

  • Java Parsing Problem.

    I'm trying to create a GWT app and trying to parse info from my gmail contacts but I'm getting a Null type error.
    I am using an input stream that gets the Xml data back from the contacts in gmail however when I try turn this into a string and parse it I hit problems.
    here is some of the code
    System.out.println("here we go " + toString(inputStream)); - This line works, it prints out the whole xml file
    String xml = toString(inputStream); - this doesn't, xml never gets set to anything, its just null
    Document xmlDoc = null;
    xmlDoc = XMLParser.parse(xml); - so this doesn't work either as xml is null
    Here is the toString() code
    public String toString(InputStream inputStream) throws IOException {
        String string;
        //System.out.println("Into toString()");
        StringBuilder outputBuilder = new StringBuilder();
        if (inputStream != null) {
          BufferedReader reader =
              new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(inputStream));
          while (null != (string = reader.readLine())) {
            outputBuilder.append(string).append('\n');
        return outputBuilder.toString();
      }I cant understand why when I print out toString(inputStream) it works but when I try to setting as the variable xml is doesn't work, it comes up as null?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks, that was helpfull,
    here is the code up until the xmlDoc now
    InputStream inputStream;
             if (responseCode == HttpURLConnection.HTTP_OK) {
               inputStream = connection.getInputStream();
               System.out.println("ipstream");
             } else {
               inputStream = connection.getErrorStream();
               System.out.println("ipstream error");
             System.out.println("gets to here");
             Document xmlDoc = XMLParser.parse(toString(inputStream));
                System.out.println("gets to here - 2");put I am still having the same problem, it gets to this line Document xmlDoc = XMLParser.parse(toString(inputStream)); but doesn't get any further, this is the first instance that the toString(inputStream) is used, is it still the same EOF problem that would be occurring?
    EDIT:
    This is the line its having trouble with now
    Document xmlDoc = XMLParser.parse(xml);

  • Java Language problem: Multiple interfaces extension.

    Not just any interfaces. Take a close look:
    public interface interface1 {
         public void aMethod();
    public interface Interface2 {
         public void aMethod() throws Exception();
    }As you can see, both interfaces define a single method with the same signature... but one of them throws Exception.
    Consider "merging" these two interfaces:
    public interface Interface3 extends Interface1, Interface2 {}Should the resulting method throw Exception? Eclipse says it does. But I think it shouldn't. Here's the logic:
    If the method in Interface3 DIDN'T throw Exception, it would be able to extends the method in Interface1 and Interface2, because it is not throwing checked exceptions not thrown in the superinterfaces' methods definitions... however, as It DOES throw Exception, it can't extend the method in Interface1, because Interface1's method doesn't throw Exception. Am I right?

    It's not a naming problem. I'll tell you where the problem comes from:
    I'm working with EJBs. I (personally) like to separete the business "signatures" of the beans in a single interface.
    So, for every bean I make, I have a single interface that defines the method.... it says NOTHING about the beans.
    Remote beans methods have to throw RemoteException, so I have to throw RemoteException in my business logic classes. I then make two interfaces that implement this interface. One remote (that just extends this interface and EJBRemote) and another local that extends EJBLocal and overrides all the methods so they don't throw RemoteExceptions (Local bean interfaces' methods must NOT throw RemoteException).
    For example:
    public interface Beaninterface {
    public void aMethod() throws RemoteExeption();
    public interface Bean extends EJBRemote, BeanInterface {}
    public interface BeanLocal extends EJBLocalObject , Beaninterface {
    public void aMethod();
    }No problem so far.
    Here's where the mess comences:
    I want to EXTEND this bean interfaces so I make a bean based on the former.
    I will add another method to the business interface of the new bean:
    Business Interface
    public interface ExtendedBeanInterface extends BeanInterface {
    public void newMethod() throws RemoteException;
    }This new interface defines the new method and inherits the method from BeanInterface
    Remote Interface of the new bean:
    public interface ExtendedBean extends ExtendedBeanInterface, EJBObject {}Nothing wo do there.
    Here is the real problem:
    I have to extend the ExtendedBeanInterface, but that will bring two methods that throw Remote Exception. I have no problem overriding both methods in this interface.. but how about if thyere are 50 methods in the BeanInterface? I'm not going to go ahead and removing each method for evety bean I extend. That makes NO sense. What I think I should do is to extend BeanLocal so those methods that were brought from BeanInterface be known not to throw RemoteExeption.
    public interface ExtendedBeanLocal extends EJBLocalObject, ExtendedBeanInterface, BeanLocal {
    public void newMethod();
    }And THERE is where I hit the wall, because when I deploy the bean, the application server informs me that the resulting interface is throwing RemoteException (courtesy of ExtendedBeanInterface).
    Accoring to my logic about Java Language, by extending BeanLocal, aMethod() shouldn't throw RemoteException as a result in ExtendedBeanLocal.
    So... what is the next step? Go with JCP?
