Java requirement in Adobe FORM

Hi,
Does it require “Java” software to use the button like “Reset” “Print” “E-mail” “Save” in the FORM of Adobe Acrobat? I found the JavaScript in XTML format of Adobe FORM. What is that mean?
If we are going to use the Adobe Form which interacts with database, does it need Java? Without Java, can Adobe alone accomplish?

So your usurers may need to have the JavaScript enabled option enabled for the forms to work properly.
Thanks for your answer. For the clause you mentioned above, if users are using "Adobe Reader", what should they do? Is there any step that they have to do?

We are using Interactive Adobe Forms for an ISR Scenario running on EP7.0 NW04s, SAP R/3--ECC6.0
It is working fine from longtime but suddenly i dont know why it is not working now.throwing an FPM Runtime Exception, Recently our R/3 server was refreshed and we found that J2EE stack is down on the R/3 which is used by ADS to run the adobe forms, then our Basis team up the J2ee engine but still we are facing the FPM Runtime Exception as mentioned below, when the user clicks on the task/workitems in the UWL.
Initially I followed the SAP Notes: 959462, 944221, 915399, 836174. But still we are unable to resolve the exception.

Click on Services->Security Provider->User Management.

I already checked in the Tcode QISRSCENARIO, that the corresponding Form is attached to the scenario.
Finally I resolved in the following way after all attemps
In the Visual administartor>Security Provider>Usermanagement
Search for ADsuser and click on it.
Switch on to Edit mode for editing ADSUSer.
Change its password to xxxxxxxx. then select (Check) No Password Change Required.
Save it. Then again reach 'com.sap.tc.webdynpro.adsproxy.AdsProxy/ConfigPort_Document' and retype the new password.
Now it is working fine.

Hi, SDN Expert.
I am working on research the use of Adobe Interactive Forms in the current processes of HCM ESS MSS.
We are on ECC5.0, EP7.0, and ESS MSS SP21. We are in the midst of upgrading to ECC6.0.
Do you know where Web Dynpro Java version of Adobe Forms are used in ESS MSS are used? OR are they all in Web DYnpro ABAP version in ECC6.0?

Condition verification in java script on Adobe form.

I am using a interactive forma text element on my view. (java web dynpro)
It's a simple application. I am trying to figure out how it works with java script.
I have a text field. which displays employ is sales or production dept
the values in the data view and its the output element of a BAPI which returns XF,TF,HF and XK,JK,HK
(record.dept)
if its XF, TF, HF on the text field in the adobe form should print sales else production.
I have never used java script on adobe form.
I figured the strip above the form in adobe designer is used for java script.
can any one, let me know how I can manipulate. the record value

xfa.host.messageBox should show you an alert dialog box to check data you are getting.
And yes you are right. You can set the value of textfield using code you mentioned.

You can even set the texfields to be readOnly, hide some of them etc. But for that I would suggest you going thru the LiveDesigner help. It would solve most of your doubts :-).

Can I use "Adobe X Pro" to debug the java code in adobe forms?

Can I use "Adobe X Pro" to debug the java code in adobe forms?, if not how do i debug the java code written in the adobe form.

I have the adobe acrobat x evaluation version installed, please find the print shot attached, I have pressed CTRL+J in the preview mode, but nothing came up.
Am I doing something wrong..

How to Debug Java Script in Adobe Form

I have used an alert for empty fields . I have used Check button control for this.
But the button click is very inconsistent. Some times it triggers the event sometimes it doesnt. Is there anyway to debug the java script. I have installed Script editor for IE but I am unable to use it for Adobe Forms.
Any help is appreciated.

i think that maybe is the check sequence is not very correct.. and maybe you can try to code it one check for empty fields at a time..
example
Name.
Address.
Tel.
Hp.
Email.
so u can try to code for one item at a time then slow try to debug it... as last time i use to insert the javascript inside each component then after it i implement into a button and slowly check for the check sequence which one need to be 1st and etc.

Requirement - Filter the values of second dropdown list based on the selected value in first dropdown list.
Say for Example - First dropdown list has Company Code values. If we select a company code in first dropdown list, then the corresponding Plant based on selected company code should display on second dropdown list.

CRM project requiring offline adobe form functuonality - at what effort?

I have a requirement to implement an adobe form as part of a larger CRM project. The users of the CRM application (Sales - Web Client) will utilise adobe functionality while online to create prefilled customer visit forms which they will copy to their outlook application. The adobe form will then be used in offline mode to record details of their customer visits whilst the sales person is in the field. The visit details will need to be sync'd at a later stage back to the CRM server. I have a question as to the effort required to set this up both from an analyst and programming perspective.
Am i right in assuming the creation of the adobe form would not be that time consuming (as we intend the form itself to be relatively straight forward) and the time will be primarily taken up in developing the interface to initially create the adobe form and then to take the data back into the CRM system once the form is completed.
What kind of effort are we talking about

I am facing a pecular problem in using Adobe forms.
I am able to pass data from webdynpo application, to the Interactive form(using mappings, as mentioned by satya).
But for the same form & WD application, i am not able to pass data from the Interactive Form, back to the WD application.
My scenario is like this:
I need to show a form, with some prefilled data, such as date, userID, etc. I populate the node in my WD application, & then call the form.
The form displays the above prefilled data. Now the user has to fill the remaining fields & click on submit(Submit-to-sap button). The onsubmit property of the Interactive form is mapped to a onaction event, where WD tries to read the data entered by the user.
The problem is that on clicking of the submit button in the form, the event is not getting called.
If i use a button in the WD view itself, then the action gets called, but there is no data. In short, the data is NOT getting passed from Interactive form to WD application.
Can you please help me out with this?

I have a very unique requirement as such we have a form and in the "TO" string field where we specify the email address of the receivers, now we want to send address memo to multiple users, however in our search window we can search only one name at a time & need to open search window every time for every new user to be included in the address field. We need to have AJAX type of functionality such as AJAX does asynchronous calls to the back-end and get help values dynamically even when the user is entering help values.
In my case if I start typing S in the manager filed, an event should get triggered and return back the names of all managers who start with the letter S,
If we go to Google.com and start typing, as you type,e Google gets help values and displays them below the input field. This is based on making asynchronous calls to the back-end.
We want to send interactive adobe forms to the multiple users for their approval or information. while entering email ids of multiple users, we need to have functionality as described above.
I'll appreciate if anyone can help with some clear steps, document link or working code sample etc.

Two different headers required in Adobe form

Hi All
I have a requirement like two different headers required so that I can display one header in the first page and other header in the subsequent pages.
For this I added 2 master pages with 2 different headers.
For the master page I have added one sub form it contains the address of the employee.
For the second master page I have added one more subform where I have data in a table.
While executing the report, I am gettting first master page header in 1, 3. 5 ..so on pages and second master header getting in 2, 4 , 6 ...and so on pages.
Finally I am getting address in first page only with first master page header, second page with table along with second master page header and third page getting the header of first master page but content was overflowed from second page.
Here I required from second page onwards, second master page header and second subform details where I added table.
Please help me on this...

Thanks for you reply, I have tried by giving 2 in tab pagination for PAGE2. But still PAGE1 master page header is repeating in output 3rd page.
Also I set property, restrict page occurence (1, 1) for PAGE1 master page. But still same issue I am facing.

We are having adobe live cycle designer 8.2 version
Sap gui 6.4
Acrobat reader 7
But we are unable to view the layout in the transaction SFP
the error i am getting is "ERROR WHILE GENERATING DOCUMENT"
IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL IF YOU COULD LET US KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING AND WHAT IS THE REMEADY FOR THE SAME

Webdnpro java applicaition with Adobe Form

Hi All,
we are developing an application using Interactive Form control. After "deploy and run" the browser is displaying a dialog "downloading unknown.pdf" and doesn't execute the application.
I have checked the ADS in portal and is configured.
Could somebody help me resolving this issue.

Thank you for your reply. It is a Activex based application and I have admin rights in my system. The download dialog is not closing automatically. Is there any other configuration involved in client/server systems other than ADS, reader rights credentials certificate installation ?

Adobe forms: Displaying work area data in different windows

Hi,
I have a requirement of showing work area data in different windows i.e work area which has sent from program needs to come in different windows of the form. I have created a smartform which will perfectly doing the above logic. The above work area also contains amount fields. I am also passing language 'English' or 'French', based on this i am displaying some texts also.
But Client wants to see the same requirement in Adobe forms. Ao i am new to Adobe forms, I need some help for performing the above scenario. I am doing my research on this. But i want to know the steps which will not reduce the performance.
In smartform, first window contains personnel no from work area and the second window contains address from work area. Then i have created a template with employee premium amount column, company premium amount column and total of that, all these from work area. So work area will contain only one row which i have to show in different window and on template.
In Adobe forms, How can i do the same this which i have done in smart forms.
Please suggest me any one in doing this. I appreciate your answers.

Yes as Santoosh said there is no such wiondow option in Adobe forms.
But if you use webdynpro java/Abap we can acheive this.
think something like this below, if it works.
have 2 views 1st for the adobe form, 2nd view in a new window for the work area screen.
in the adobe view have a button for the work area and respective event handler.
in the event handler call this window, and then reload the same adobe form.
if from the work area form if you need value to be passed to this adobe form. have a event handler for this.
when purpose is done, close that window and set value to the required context field on the form. and reload that adobe form.
this is a fuzzy process and time consuming, unless business has no other option we dont go this approach.
but for sure this works, we did the same for a EHS process.

Well, In Adobe also there are two ways of doing the same.
1) Calling a Java Web Dynpro - Adobe Form or ABAP Web Dynpro - Adobe Form from Workflow. For this you require to develop the Adobe form based on any of above mentioned WD Application and then link the Standard task to this WD Application in SWFVISU Transaction.
