    > Yes, I am having someone look into it.having someone look into it!?? are you mad? this bug has recurred about 10 times now, and it's one of hundreds that your so-called 'admins' or 'developers' or whatever, "fix". where "fix" means "swap with another bug".
    your entire forum team is completely incompetant. please sit back and look, historically, at all the bugs that have occured here. do you track them? probably not because of the shame it would bring on you.
    sorry to take this rant out on you, but the staff that manages this place are terrible, please replace them or at least let them out of their cages to see the real world sometimes, and how other forums work. because this one has actively pushed away many members, even though their love for the jav is strong.
    let the monkeys go finish their novel, and hire some junior college students at least.
    thanks.
    ps: html is enabled so i could've stolen your cookie and posted as you. seriously this is very pathetic. fix it before people start abusing it.

  • Java Training from Sun

    Has anyone taken any of the courses listed on the following website:
    http://www.sun.com/training/catalog/java/delivery.xml#wlc
    If so, how did you benefit from the content? How is the course arranged? Is it very interactive? Does it have audio to accompany all or most of the video? How would you compare this training to other cbt or book training?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Solon magrizos is by far the most interesting professor Ive had throughout my university career. I think a lot of the faculty has managed to fall into a routine where year after year they do the same old thing and become increasingly distanced from their students. Prof. Baron (or Jake as he tells us to call him) goes out of his way to make sure this doesnt happen. He updates his courses year after year to make sure were using relevant examples and always brings in guest speakers for relevant topics. I highly recommend that you go out of your way to take any course you can with him.

  • Migration from Sun Java System Portal Server to the Oracle Portal

    Hi, I'm in charge of evaluate the viability of a project that comprises the migration from Sun Java System Portal Server to the Oracle Portal. so I'm wondering if there is a kind of out of box migration tool in Oracle Portal or exists some guidelines to do the migration. In the other hand there is the option of migrate from Sun Java System Portal Server to Oracle WebCenter?
    Thanks in advance!

    The migration path for Sun Portal Server is Oracle WebCenter Suite. WebCenter is a significantly different architecture so there are no tools planned for the migration. However, we do plan to document and publish a whitepaper once we've assisted a few of the initial customer migrations.

  • Searching Java Compiler from Sun

    Hello
    I have Download the JAVA SDK 1.4 Standard from SUN. I have find 4 demo Java Applications but no JAVA Compiler.
    Now someone how I can get the full Java compiler with all librarys and Documentation?
    Kind regards
    Sven

    If you install the JDK1.4 you should have the compiler. You'll see it under {JAVAHOME}\bin. To compile a java file, you'll have to use javac.
    The API documentation is a seperate download.

    So there are 2 parallel approaches to tackle this
    1) Try to figure out if your objects being exchanged are large and if there are bursts of traffic. i.e is the size of your nio buffer sufficient to handle your load. If so, check if the node doing the processing is unable to deal with events in a timely manner.
    2) Open a ticket. What I heard from training is that in 3.5 coherence should have started choking traffic to the TCP node once it recognized the nio buffers are approaching capacity. So, this is not working
    Fixing 2 will not solve 1. It will just delay the problem in my opinion.
    Bottom line is that there is too much data backlogging in the buffer, either because of unexpected bursts, or because of large objects or because of slowdown in processing in the node.

  • Complete Java 2 Training Course

    Hello
    Has anyone tried Complete Java 2 Training Course by Deitel? The 5th edition is about $109 but I can get a 4th edition for about half of that. 4th ed is 2002 and I wonder how different it is. A self paced course may be a good way to go.
    thanks,
    Hal

    I agree - seems pricey.
    What's wrong with the on-line tutorials from Sun? They're free and self-paced. - MOD

  • Error during generation of the WSDL:  BUILD FAILED java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/javadoc/Type

    When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
    As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml  that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
    I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:

    Description
    There was a problem retrieving the WSDL from the typed transport service endpoint at the time of service registration

  • Problem with Java System Application Server *(Sun one 8 or J2EE 1.4 app server)

    Hi,
    Iam able to deploy KODO JDO through JCA in Sun One App server 7,
    But iam unable to deploy in J2EE1.4 app server. I followed the J2EE1.4
    guide developer guide it is compitable with JCA1.5 and also given backward
    compatibility for JCA1.0
    I had removed the sun-ra.xml from kodo.rar which is not needed in
    J2EE1.4 and deployed but iam un able to get the
    PersistanceManagerConnectionFactory.
    Can any one heip in sloving this issues the exceptions Iam getting

    M.S. Veerendra-
    This is a known incompatibility, described at:
    http://support.solarmetric.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=14082
    Can you try the workarounds listed at:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=499803&tstart=0&trange=15
    and let us know if it works?

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore.

    All:
    I have completed the following:
    1. Downloaded the JavaMail 1.4.2 API.
    2. From this downloaded API I had extracted the mail.jar file (timestamp 2009-02-26 13:28) to my C:\Program Files\Tomcat 6.0\lib directory
    3. Downloaded the jaf-1_0_2-upd2 API
    4. From this downloaded API I had extracted the activation.jar file (timestamped 2005-05-07 21:14) also to my C:\Program Files\Tomcat 6.0\lib directory.
    In Eclipse I have created a simple JSP page that calls a POJO that is to read a particular email box using IMAP. In this POJO I have code to set up the Properties, Session and Store objects as such:
    Line 1 Properties properties = System.getProperties();
    Line 2 properties.put("mail.from", "[email protected]");
    Line 3 properties.put("mail.debug","true");
    Line 4 session = Session.getDefaultInstance(properties, null);
    Line 5 session.setDebug(debug);
    Line 6 printData("About to get store object...");
    Line 7 store = session.getStore("imap");
    In eclispe, I click "Debug on Server" and Tomcat starts, begins to display my JSP and then I am dropped on the line of code in my POJO where I set a breakpoint (Line 1). Now I single step through the code. The code throws the following execption when it executes line 7 of the above code :
    (Line 6 ==>) About to get store object...
    DEBUG: getProvider() returning javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imap,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc]

    There are no jar files defined in my project's classpath. The only jar file found in the project is in the WEB-INF\lib folder wherein I have a jndi.jar (timstamp 5/5/2009 8:10AM) file.
    I put the activation.jar file and the mail.jar file in my Tomcat.6\lib folder according item 4 of the JavaMail Sessions section of the Apache Tomcat JNDI Resources HOW_TO found here: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/jndi-resources-howto.html
    Can anybody please tell me what I need to do to get around this error? Do I perhaps have the wrong versions of one or more jar files?
    FYI: I have also put these same two jar files in my projects classpath and still recevied the same exception. Because I am invoking a POJO from a JSP should these jar files be in my projects classpath in addition to the tomcat\lib directory, or should they only be in the projects' classpath?
    Thanks to all for your time in responding.
    Gary

    bshannon:
    Thank you for your resonse. Your response got me to thinking that my instance of Ecliplse that I had had running yesterday was behaving a little strangely so this morning I closed everything I had running on my workstation and closed down the machine and rebooted. When I finally opend up Eclipse again and ran my JSP program calling my POJO, the code no longer threw the exception. Apparently Eclipse can have its tempermental moments.
    Also, let it be known that while everything is working for me now, I performed a small experiment. I moved the activiation.jar and mail.jar from my project\WEB-INF\lib folder and put them in the the C:\Program Files\Tomcat 6.0\lib directory. Then, when I ran my program I once again recieved the java.lang.NoSuchMethodException error. When I moved these jar files back from the Tomcat diretory to my project\WEB-INF\lib directory, the program worked just fine.
    Thanks again
    Gary

  • Connecting to MySQL from Sun One Studio

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to the MySQL from the Sun One Studio 5. I followed these steps.
    1. I downloaded the MySQL software and installed on my local computer, it was successful.
    2. I got the drivers [b][b][b]mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable-bin.jar and placed it in the <stdudio5>/lib/ext/ directory.
    3. And I successfully got through that one also, and in the database section it showed me the icon for connecting to mysql database. I gave the url, username, and password. It worked fine.
    4. Then I created the connection pool, JDBC resource, and Persistence manager for my server instance. It was also successful.
    5. When I built a cmp bean accessing the table in mySQL database, it is giving me these errors.
    If you notice these error, it is asking for vendor type. But i don't have any option to choose the vendor type when i configured the database resources.
    Can soem body suggest some other method and clear this error. I am struggling with this since a week.
    Thank you.

    The AS7 error suggests that you have not set up the server startup classpath to include the driver jar. The steps to do this are included in the article mentioned in Chris's reply, namely:
    http://developers.sun.com/tools/javatools/tips/tip03-08-22.html
    Note especially the part starting with Step 3 under the section "Enabling the JDBC Driver in the IDE."
