Java SE6 Activity Guide SL-110 & SL-275 exercise files!

Hi guys I am following Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE6 Programmer (Previously Known as SCJP) in Sri Lanka. But in my Course Manuals there are exercise files mentioned. As an example in the SL-110 course manual there is a note that go to the SL110/exercises/04_variables/exercise. In the SL-275 course manual exercises/01_intro/exercise1 & Demos are at demos/01_intro/exercise1 directory. But unfortunately I cannot find any of the files_ from Internet or even from the oracle OTN web site. Then how can I able to get them ?. I think Oracle is more responsible company than a normal company to provide these kind of exercise files to the students.
Thank You

  • Error when selecting Activity Guide item from BPM Workspace

    Hi,
    I've installed 11.1.1.6 SOA/BPM onto my local machine.
    I've deployed an Activity Guide example. This loads fine when i create an instance, the GUI loads and i can see the process progress on the left hand side.
    I have created my own test app and deployed it. I can see an instance in the Activity Guide List; however when selecting it the GUI doesn't load and i get an ADF error thrown.
    I can view the task from the Task List and open the GUI just fine. It only seems to be when selecting it from the Activity Guide List that i experience the problem.
    The error i can see in the logs is this:

    Kind Regards

    I've had the same issue with activity guides in 11.1.1.6 the last couple of days and thought I had been doing something wrong. Wish I'd seen your post sooner.
    Guessing it's a bug - know there's a patch set out - perhaps it's fixed in that.

    Hi Durga,
    Your problem was probably caused by something different than what I ran into, but by making sure there was some text and/or XPath expression in the Title fields of both the human task and the Interactive activity my problem went away and I was able to use the Activity Guide.
    To get to the title field for the interactive activity, double click the activity in the process -> click the "Implementation" tab -> in the "Title" field, enter some text and/or an XPath expression.
    Just make sure both the human task and the interactive activity title fields are not left blank.

  • Developing webservices using Java SE6 and Tomcat Webserver

    Hi All,
    I am trying to develop a webservice using Java SE6 Beeta SDK with Tomcat webserver. I read somewhere in the Sun site and it says JAXWS2.0 is fully packaged with JAVA SE 6 SDK? If this is correct then what are all the remining packages(jar files present in JWSDP2.0) required to develop and publish the webservice.
    I does the setup as follows.
    - Install the Java SE6 SDK Beeta available.
    - Install Tomcat 5.17 webserver.
    - Started the webserver by setting java_home as SDK6.
    I am not able to publish the webservice with this setup
    Do i need to place any other package present in JWSDP2.0 in Tomcat_home/common/lib ?
    I used the same example present in JWSDP2.0 package.
    Please guide me regarding this?
    Thanks In Advance,
    Mohan

    Any ideas on how this could be achieved.Have you looked at the Unofficial Web Start FAQ at the Lopica site?

  • Getting error while calling external Jars in BPEL by using Java embedding activity in soa 12c

    Hi,
    I am trying to use an external Jars for the business logic implementation. Here I need to pass XML as input and
    and I expect the "Password " field has to be return.
    Following are the steps I have followed:
    1) Created a java project with sample class and added the external jars into the project "Libraries &Classpath".
    2) Created a jar file out of it.
    3) Created a BPEL project with Java Embedding.
    4)Wrote the java code in java embedding activity.
    4) Added the above created jar file to the BPEL project's lib/jar  and added in SCA-INF/lib project folder as well.
    5) Imported the package with the class as in the jar (e.g <bpelx:exec
    import="pkg.testInterface"/>)
    6) Deploy the BPEL project.
    while deploying the SOA build is sucessful but my depoyment is incomplete.
    error:
    advices will be great....
    Regards,
    Dilip

    Hi,
    Can you confirm if the BPEL Version is 1.1 or 2.0.
    If you are using BPEL 2.0 you need to import the required jar/class file as:
    <import importtype="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java" location="pkg.testInterface"/>
    For BPEL 1.1 the syntax to import other jar/class file is:
    <bpelx:exec import="pkg.testInterface"/>
    If you import the classes in the correct format you will not face any deployment error.

  • Activity Guide tab not visible in BPM Workspace

    I've deployed a simple BPM Process which consists of one Initiator and one User task. I've added both the activities to a milestone what I defined under the Activity Guide.
    I've used JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 to develope the Process.
    But after deploying the same in Server, I can't see the "Activity Guide" tab in the BPM Workspace.
    Thogh I can see the activity guide available for editing in composer portal.
    Please help me if you know how can I get the "Activity Guide" tab in the BPM Workspace?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sambit

    Hi Paulo,
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    I kind of assumed that it's a feature of BPM 11.1.1.5 FP4 after going through a few articles on the web.
    But I got confused when after visiting below provided url :
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/learnmore/488809
    Please see the statement "*In earlier releases, to use Activity Guide you had to perform some manual steps to create the Activity Guide Player inside Oracle BPM Suite – BPM Workspace.*" under "Enhancements to Activity Guide within BPM Workspace" section in the document presnt in the above mentioned url.
    I couldn't find any manual steps which can bring the Activity Guide Player in the workspace anyways and your reply confirms that.
    Thanks,
    Sambit

  • Query regarding java embedding activity in Oracle SOA Suite 11g

    Hi,
    Recently I've come across a scenario in my project. I've got a BPEL process with a java embedding activity. Now that java embedding activity calls a java class similar to the code below :-
    >ArrayList<MyData> data=MSExcelParser.getData();
    Now, after getting this data inside the java embedding, I need to populate a BPEL variable. The BPEL variable is based on an XSD element "BPELVariable" which looks something like the below snippet :-
    ><xsd:element name="BPELVariable" type="BPELVariableType"/>
    > <xsd:complexType name="BPELVariableType">
    > <xsd:sequence>
    > <xsd:element name="MyData" type="MyDataType" maxouccurs="unbounded"/>
    > </xsd:sequence>
    ></xsd:complexType>
    So the BPEL variable that I want to populate can contain multiple "MyData" tags. Now my question is how can I populate the variable from my java embedding activity once I've got the list. Is it possible?
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    I think we can exchange only data types, i dont see any data type which can hold the object types.
    If you find anything better let us know.
    Constructing string xml and converting to xml is best option i can think of.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Want to Generate custom logs with Log4J within Java Embedding activity

    Hi Gurus,
    i want to Generate custom logs with Log4J within Java Embedding activity. For that i have performed some steps, but the log file has not been created.
    ServerSide Configuration:
    *===============*
    1. I have copied the log4j-1.2.15.jar file to the "oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1" location and recreate the oracle.soa.ext.jar file using an-script, which appends the log4j.jar file to the classpath.( That was created successfully)
    2. Specify a File location in log4j.xml for creating the log file. (e.g. (<middleware_home>/config/customLog.log)
    3. Then create a folder and add log4j.xml and log4j.dtd file under the folder.
    4. Modify the startManagedWeblogicServer by adding JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dlog4j.configuration=<middleware_home>/config/log4j.debug.xml”
    5. Then restart the SOA server.
    log4j.xml :
    I have used fileAppender.
    DevelopmentSide Configuration:
    *===================*
    1. Create synchronous BPEL process and Add "JAVA Embedding Activity" inbetween receiveInput and replyOutput activity.
    2.Import the log4j-1.2.15.jar to the project libs
    3.In the BPEL source code, import the Logger class.
    4.Insert the code in the JAVA Embedding Activity
    Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("CustomLog");
    logger.info("CustomeLog " + getTitle());
    Compile and deploy the project into the SOA_server and test it. Test status is completed but log is not created in the mentioned location.
    Ref: http://blog.andrade.inf.br/search/label/Log4j
    Is there any other way to achieve this requirement. Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sharmistha

    You can try this.
